Guest Post: A Coming Era Of Civil Disobedience?

The Oklahoma Supreme Court, in a 7-2 decision, has ordered a monument of the Ten Commandments removed from the Capitol.
Calling the Commandments “religious in nature and an integral part of the Jewish and Christian faiths,” the court said the monument must go.
Gov. Mary Fallin has refused. And Oklahoma lawmakers instead have filed legislation to let voters cut out of their constitution the specific article the justices invoked. Some legislators want the justices impeached.
Fallin’s action seems a harbinger of what is to come in America — an era of civil disobedience like the 1960s, where court orders are defied and laws ignored in the name of conscience and a higher law.
Only this time, the rebellion is likely to arise from the right.
Certainly, Americans are no strangers to lawbreaking. What else was our revolution but a rebellion to overthrow the centuries-old rule and law of king and Parliament, and establish our own?
U.S. Supreme Court decisions have been defied, and those who defied them lionized by modernity. Thomas Jefferson freed all imprisoned under the sedition act, including those convicted in court trials presided over by Supreme Court justices. Jefferson then declared the law dead.
Some Americans want to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with Harriet Tubman, who, defying the Dred Scott decision and fugitive slave acts, led slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad.
New England abolitionists backed the anti-slavery fanatic John Brown, who conducted the raid on Harpers Ferry that got him hanged but helped to precipitate a Civil War. That war was fought over whether 11 Southern states had the same right to break free of Mr. Lincoln’s Union as the 13 colonies did to break free of George III’s England.
Millions of Americans, with untroubled consciences, defied the Volstead Act, imbibed alcohol and brought an end to Prohibition.
In the civil rights era, defying laws mandating segregation and ignoring court orders banning demonstrations became badges of honor.
Rosa Parks is a heroine because she refused to give up her seat on a Birmingham bus, despite the laws segregating public transit that relegated blacks to the “back of the bus.”
In “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” Dr. King, defending civil disobedience, cited Augustine — “an unjust law is no law at all” — and Aquinas who defined an unjust law as “a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law.”
Said King, “one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.”
But who decides what is an “unjust law”?
If, for example, one believes that abortion is the killing of an unborn child and same-sex marriage is an abomination that violates “eternal law and natural law,” do those who believe this not have a moral right if not a “moral responsibility to disobey such laws”?
Rosa Parks is celebrated.
But the pizza lady who said her Christian beliefs would not permit her to cater a same-sex wedding was declared a bigot. And the LGBT crowd, crowing over its Supreme Court triumph, is writing legislation to make it a violation of federal civil rights law for that lady to refuse to cater that wedding.
But are people who celebrate the Stonewall riots in Greenwich Village as the Mount Sinai moment of their movement really standing on solid ground to demand that we all respect the Obergefell decision as holy writ?
And if cities, states or Congress enact laws that make it a crime not to rent to homosexuals, or to refuse services at celebrations of their unions, would not dissenting Christians stand on the same moral ground as Dr. King if they disobeyed those laws?
Already, some businesses have refused to comply with the Obamacare mandate to provide contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs to their employees. Priests and pastors are going to refuse to perform same-sex marriages. Churches and chapels will refuse to host them. Christian colleges and universities will deny married-couple facilities to homosexuals.
Laws will be passed to outlaw such practices as discrimination, and those laws, which the Christians believe violate eternal law and natural law, will, as Dr. King instructed, be disobeyed.
And the removal of tax exemptions will then be on the table.
If a family disagreed as broadly as we Americans do on issues so fundamental as right and wrong, good and evil, the family would fall apart, the couple would divorce, and the children would go their separate ways.
Something like that is happening in the country.
A secession of the heart has already taken place in America, and a secession, not of states, but of people from one another, caused by divisions on social, moral, cultural, and political views and values, is taking place.

And for those who, when young, rejected the views, values and laws of Eisenhower’s America, what makes them think that dissenting Americans in this post-Christian and anti-Christian era will accept their laws, beliefs, values?

You have to assume, ab initio, that there is a divine being and that this divine being wrote a book "through" mostly Jews over hundreds of years.
It is insanely - literally - idiotic - to assume this.
But it is absolutely bathshit to claim that the bible is consistent when it is replete with inconsistencies not least of which is the fact the ethics of Jesus of Nazareth - is absolutely, openly, and OBVIOUSLY DIFFERENT THAN THE ADMONITIONS OF "YAHWEH" IN THE OLD TESTAMENT.

Bible in a nutshell
These are all the things written in the Bible, which was written on three continents, in three languages, by about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, prophets, an army general, fishermen, priests, physician, etc), over a period of about 1,500 years, on the most controversial subjects, by people who, in most cases, had never met, by authors whose education and background varied greatly.
Yet it tells a completely cohesive story, all based on the same theme, of mankind’s fall, and the Love God showed by sending His son as a sacrifice to buy the souls of all men wishing to be redeemed, AS WILL BE REVEALED TO YOU IN WHAT FOLLOWS:
God's original Human creations, Adam & Eve, were created without sin, yet given free will to take decisions.
God's original Spirit creations, The Word, Seraphs, Cherubs, and Angels, were created without sin, yet given free will to take decisions.
One of those Spirits, Satan, sinned when he deceived Eve, and got her to disobey God, and so she sinned.
Adam, though not deceived, use his free will to follow Eve's decision, and so he, to, sinned.
Therefore, Adam and Eve sinned- they fell from grace.
God prophesied that He would send a deliverer to redeem His people, because they had sinned.
God sent prophets to let people know what events would occur, before they occurred.
God chose a people for His name- as a beginnning of His plan of redemption.
God appeared to Abraham, and unconditionally promised to him that a deliverer, a seed, would come through him, to redeem all of humankind. Thousands of years later, God would fulfill this unconditional promise.
In the meantime, in order to preserve a lineage for this seed, so that the prophesies about Him would come true, He made a promise to Abraham's grandson, Jacob, renaming him Israel. This name, Israel, came to be applied to his offspring, as a whole.
God made a conditional promise to Israel, that if they would obey God's laws, He would bless them, with a promised land- AND- that if they would disobey God's laws, He would curse them, and they would lose that promised land.
Joseph, one of Jacob (Israel's) sons, became a powerful man in Egypt. It was by this means that Israel came to inhabit a land of plenty in Goshen, in Egypt. The descendants of these Israelites came to be slaves in Egypt. God chose Moses, to to deliver Israel from Egypt, and to give Israel the law that this conditional promise was based on. This came to be called the Mosaic Law Covenant.
God, as part of His conditional promise, blessed Israel with the promised land. He had the Israelites, and His Angels, wipe out the detestable people who inhabited that land- people who sacrificed their children in the fire, engaged in despicable immorality, were violent and abusive, in other words- extremely wicked people.
THEY RECEIVED GOD’S JUDGMENT BECAUSE THEY DESERVED IT.
Having possessed the land, during the time of Israel’s 3rd King, King Solomon, the 1st Temple in Jerusalem was built. But in his latter days King Solomon turned against obeying YHWH, and, under Solomon, Israel, rather than listen to God and obey His Law, became like those nations they conquered. They faltered, like a see-saw, back and forth towards obeying God, and disobeying Him. The entire time that Israel possessed the promised land- the entire time(!)- they not only worshipped YHWH, their God, but also worshipped pagan gods such as Tammuz, Ashtoreth, Asherah, Remphan, Baal, and many, many others! They had idols set up to them on the high places- the entire time they possessed the promised land (except for a brief period under King Josiah).
God eventually had it with Israel, for they repeatedly broke His conditional promise, and He sent prophets to prophesy what would happen to them. There were 12 tribes- the 10 tribes to the North were called Israel, the Southern 2 tribe Kingdom became known as Judah.
THEY RECEIVED GOD’S JUDGMENT BECAUSE THEY DESERVED IT.
It was prophesied that Israel would be destroyed by Assyria- and it happened. The whereabouts of the 10 tribe Kingdom are unknown to this day.
It was prophesied that Judah would be destroyed by Babylon- and it happened. The captured ones of the 2 tribe Kingdom went into bondage in Babylon.
While they were in Babylon, they learned certain "arts", "secrets" or "mysteries" of Babylon- including the Babylonian financial system (this will have much to do with prophesy, later in the Bible). While in Babylon, some of these same Judahites wrote their flawed interpretation of the Mosaic Law- which became known as the Talmud. The teachers and keepers of the Babylonian Talmud would eventually become known as Pharisees. Unlike these ones, some Judahites served YHWH, obeying Him. One of these was Daniel. Daniel prophesied that Babylon would be conquered by Persia, that Persia would be conquered by Greece, and that Greece would be conquered by Rome. Every one of these prophesies came true.
The Persians conquered Babylon, and allowed the Judahites to practice their religion freely, and build their 2nd Temple (many still live in Persia (Iran, to this day). Then, the Greeks conquered Persia, and then the Romans conquered Greece. All as prophesied by Daniel, ~600 years beforehand.
Then, in the days of Rome, God fulfilled His unconditional promise to humankind- He sent His only begotten Son, in the form of an embryo, into the womb of a virgin- Mary.
Mary gave birth to Jesus, who would become the Messiah- the Christ, after being baptized by His cousin, John the Baptist, when He was 30 years of (human) age.
While on earth, Jesus fulfilled hundreds of prophesies about Himself- including that He would return as a King in the future, that Jerusalem’s 2nd Temple would be destroyed, and that He would be sacrificed, as a sinless man, to redeem fallen humankind. He was then resurrected, after being in a tomb for 3 days, which fulfills another prophesy: that He would become the 3rd Temple, the only way to God, the only mediator and redeemer between God and men.
This good news about Christ spread like wildfire- many eyewitnesses of Jesus’ resurrection spread the word about His message, and many Christians were martyred for their beliefs- which they could have avoided by simply denying Christ. They chose to die, remaining faithful to the end, because they knew by faith that they would be resurrected just as Jesus Christ was.
It was prophesied in 2 Thessalonians 2 that an apostate, deceptive, form of Christianity would be instituted after the last Apostles and the many disciples that had been taught by them died off, as these acted as a restraint. Circa 300 AD, Constantine founded the Roman Church, which incorporated many, many pagan teachings then common in the Roman Empire, into his Apostate Church of Rome, all as prophesied hundreds of years beforehand.
Jesus revealed to His Apostle, John, among many other prophesies in the book of Revelation, a Great Whore, Babylon the Great, would become a financial power that would rule the Kings and Governments (Beasts) of the Earth, and the vast majority of humankind, by means of a magic spell. "By your magic spell all the nations were led astray." - Revelation 18:23.
What is that magic spell? Fractional reserve banking, fiat currency, derivatives, and all the "spells" created out of nothing that have demoralized and controlled Nations, Governments, Kings, and people, throughout history.
Revelation goes on to describe the current King of the world- the British Empire which led to it’s image- the USA.
Both of those prophesies (and many, many others) have all come true.
There are just a handful of Biblical prophesies yet to be fulfilled. Here is what happens next:
The time for the destruction of the financial system the Great Whore, Babylon the Great, and the destruction of that "magic spell" is very close- all the signs point to it. That 8th King- the one that was, is not, and yet will be- that is Persia (Iran).
In the days that this occurs- Jesus Christ returns. But this time, as a Judge and King- to execute the wicked:

For the record: the word j-e-w is a contraction of the word j-u-d-a-h, a.k.a the tribe of Judah. There are 12 tribes, collectively known as the Hebrews, who made the exodus from Egypt. One of the great questions in today's world is why the Jews of Judah do not use their tremendous God-given gifts of scholarship & research to gather up the history & whereabouts of their Hebrew brothers & sisters: the so-called Lost Tribes of Israel. Given the advances in human genome research such unique genetic material can't be that hard to track down.
The men of Judah place a great deal of importance on the purity of their blood and the genealogies of their ancestors. But as yet the majority of the present-day tribe of Judah fail to understand the universal application of Christ's Blood in the Christ's summary of human history & time as we know it.
Believing in God & understanding the meaning of God's Christ (Jesus of Nazareth) requires a child-like power of imagination & belief. Two New Testament chapters that challenge a world-hardened adult's cynical imagination with an awe of child-like wonder are Matthew, chapter 17 and John chapter 6.

"Jew" is NOT a contraction of Judah or Judahite.
"Jew" is an English word of recent origin (18th century), and means, literally "any inhabitant of Judea."
It has morphed meaning over time, to refer to a practicer of Judaism.
Biblical Israelites and Judahites did not practice Judaism, which is based on the Babylonian Talmud. Rather, They practiced Yahwehism, which is based on the Torah (Old Testament).
Yahwehism and Judaism have much of n common, but very significant and meaningful differences. The two should never be confused.

ST, I spent 15 minutes scanning the info in the link you provide. I admit I was at first (and consequently) put off by the lurid title & subtitle of the page: "OVERLORDS OF CHAOS: THE JEWISH CONSPIRACY". That's the kind of stuff I normally bypass on-sight but since you offered it as reference, I bit the bullet and waded up to my chest into the verbiage. When I got to these two sentences, I increased my dosage of palliative mental & spiritual salts:

Harboring suspicions like that stuff describes has always seemed childish to me. My dad taught me to meet people one-at-a-time, not as members of a group. While I have not ever doubted the existence of evil in this world or (since becoming a disciple of Christ) the existence of Satan I have not ever put too much credibility into the Evil Conspiracy Theories that preoccupy so many people.
My perspective of c-o-n-s-p-i-r-a-c-y in this present world is mainly informed by the writing of two men: Malachi Martin & Clive Staples (C.S.) Lewis. Mr. Martin's "Windswept House" was published in 1998 and is a novel presentation of what is actually, verifiably happening now within the old Catholic Church of the Vatican. OTOH, C.S. Lewis presents a non-fiction view of the same "conspiracy" in "The Abolition of Man" published in 1947. Both in their own way describe the evil alluded to in your link; but it is not conspiratorial so much as plain old ignorant, self-serving human nature doing what unregenerate human nature has been doing since the beginning of time.
As I said, I have no doubt of the existence of evil. But I do not subscribe to the notion of evil conspiracies wielding unknown, unstoppable influence over my life or the lives of whole nations. God Almighty sits at the top of This Human Heap and for the past 2000 years, His offer of an entirely new and different way of life & state of being has been on the whole world's table. It is self-evident that not too many have taken Him up on His Offer. We'd be living in a different kind of world if many (instead of few) took Christ at His Word.

I believe the encounter between Jesus & the Samaritan woman is a merciful bit of Godly instruction given to the world in John 4. Jesus the Christ was certainly aware of the blood-feud that existed at that time between the Jews of Judea and their Samaritan cousins. And yet the first open declaration that Christ made of His own Messianic divinity was not to any of His disciples or even to the religious leaders of Old Jerusalem. No. Christ instead, openly, and with great kindness, declared Himself to this libertine Samaritan woman who'd had 5 husbands and was working on her 6th.
Whatever language the Samaritan woman & Jesus spoke to one-another there at Jacob's well in Samaria is more-or-less unknown to us. The vagaries of human speech are so numerous & ever-increasing, it is practically impossible to know what was actually said in a private conversation between 2 people two hours ago, let alone 2000+ years ago.
As a disciple of Christ and contrary to the changableness of human language I believe that the Holy Spirit a.k.a. God Himself produced the contents of the Holy Bible by His Inspiration of men He chose to get the job done. I believe the Holy Spirit gave apostle John the verbatim of what was said between the Christ & the Samaritan woman. Believing so is no different (to me) than believing Jesus of Nazareth was dead and came back to life and that His Death was the death of all the sins of all the men who've ever lived or ever will live in this world. I believe that I could not possibly believe THAT unless what Jesus Himself says in John chapter Six had happened to me.

I don't have a problem with Jesus being called a Jew in the New Testament. If that's the word the King James translators settled on, fine. If those translators used another Old-English word and then later Editions of the King James changed that word to j-e-w, that's o.k. It all means the same thing: a member of the tribe of Judah, the tribe through whom the Messiah, the Saviour of the world has come.
Jesus the Messiah wept over the fate his people, the Jews, had chosen for themselves. If "jews" wrote the Bible, they didn't do themselves any favors with those dire words did they? No, they did not. By modern material standards Jerusalem may not be "desolate" but in the spiritual sense, there is no place on earth more tumultuous & troubled than Jerusalem. They have no peace in Jerusalem today. Life without peace is a desolate experience.
Humans, persecuting one-another is as old as history itself. There is no time since Cain killed Abel that there has not been someone grinding someone else under the heel of tyranny & oppression. The Jews have endured their share of abuse. I don't imagine their will-to-survive is a conspiracy any more than I imagine Donald Trump paying off a union leader to keep a jobsite open is a "conspiracy." It's business as ususal. I'm simply going to point out some common misconceptions versus what Scripture actually teaches (from your replies, I can't ascertain if you understand this yet).

1. "That is to be taken metaphorically." In other words, what is written is not what is meant. I find this entertaining, especially for those who decide what ISN'T to be taken as other than the absolute WORD OF GOD--which just happens to agree with the particular thing they happen to want...
MY REPLY- So, when we read in Daniel, Revelation and elsewhere about Beasts, one with 7 heads and 10 horns, this guy has a problem with interpreting METAPHORICALLY? It's prophesy, it's supposed to be interpreted metaphorically!
2. "There was more there than...." This is used when one verse says "there was a" and another says "there was b," so they decide there was "a" AND "b"--which is said nowhere. This makes them happy, since it doesn't say there WASN'T "a+b." But it doesn't say there was "a+b+little green martians." This is often the same crowd that insists theirs is the ONLY possible interpretation (i.e., only "a") and the only way. I find it entertaining they they don't mind adding to verses.
3. "It has to be understood in context." I find this amusing because it comes from the same crowd that likes to push likewise extracted verses that support their particular view. Often it is just one of the verses in the contradictory set which is supposed to be taken as THE TRUTH when, if you add more to it, it suddenly becomes "out of context." How many of you have gotten JUST John 3:16 (taken out of all context) thrown at you?
MY REPLY (to 2 & 3)- The entire Bible has a context- that is the way to interpret it correctly! Here is one of three important tests of making sure an interpretation of prophecy is correct: Is there agreement within the context of every Scripture in the Holy Bible, with the interpretation? That is, if there are one or more Scriptures that disagree with the interpretation, it is a false interpretation.
If those are the "ground rules", why bother debating?

There are some good things in it and much that isn't. You quote the history of it according to those who believe it is holy but do so with eyes closed to true documented history such as the council of Nicea and so many other things. The Codex is a compendium of smaller books, in the case of the New Testament, there are 27 small books (Matthew through Revelation) that make up the entire New Testament.
The oldest full Codex of the Old Testament found to date is the Codex Sinaiticus circa 350 AD.
The smaller books that the Codex Sinaiticus was copied from naturally predate the Codex itself.
Parts of the New Testament have been preserved in more manuscripts than any other ancient work, having over 5,800 complete or fragmented Greek manuscripts, 10,000 Latin manuscripts and 9,300 manuscripts in various other ancient languages. The earliest date of these manuscripts is from circa 125 AD (the John Rylands manuscript, P52; oldest copy of John fragments). That is ~225 years before the date of the Codex Sinaiticus. In addition, there are 95 manuscripts for all the other New Testament books (except 1&2 Timothy; 2&3 John) that date from ~126 AD to ~300 AD, again, far earlier than the Codex Sinaiticus.
So, by comparing these much earlier books with the Codex, we find that parts of these books were omitted when the Codex Sinaiticus was copied and compiled.
Further more, taking all languages together, over 25,000 handwritten copies of the New Testament have been recovered. But there is more. Almost the entire New Testament could be reproduced by quotes from the ancient church fathers. “So extensive are these citations that if all other sources for our knowledge of the text of the New Testament were destroyed, they would be sufficient alone for the reconstruction of practically the entire New Testament” (Metzger & Ehrman, 2005).

If the ES breaks below its March '09 low of 665.75 and TPTB attempt, yet again, to "not let a good crisis go to waste" by centralizing even more power, secession will be back on the table in a number of western and southern states. There is not 51% of the population on the national level that is aware that creeping socialism is the problem instead of the solution, so winning elections ain't gonna happen. But there's a whole lot more than 10% that do, and that's all you need to mount an insurrection. The one step too far by the politicos is going to be easy to spot, and that's when some Messiah in the White House decides things are so bad she is going to have to suspend elections. That will be when the green light turns on, for hundreds of thousands of Americans simultaneously, that it's time for the shooting to begin again.

So, when they come for you and your property, who are you going to call? The President of the United States? Your Congressman? Your governor? MSNBC? The Supreme Court?
To survive, to hold on to as many freedoms as we can secure, we must stand together. And the exclusive bond that held this nation together in the past was its Christian heritage and beliefs. That is the cohesive bond on which we could agree that those who would rule us seek to destroy.
