I think if this is true, it is to protect Tsipras, for whatever reason, before the next round of bailouts and more serious capital controls. They will throw in a Goldman-friendly puppet next, and he will negotiate along till the third, fourth, fifth bailouts... until there's nothing left to sell or leverage. But there are those who are born into slavery. This is not a cop out or excuse. People the world over have accepted the use of privately issued debt instruments produced by others in order to be allowed to conduct trade with one another. Furthermore, these selfsame persons controlling currencies have been allowed to create laws enforced at the pain of death to anyone that dares attempt to trade outside of their purview.
So, I guess it has to do with what the definition of “induced” is. I hold the belief that the one that makes the rules, and gets others to obey, gets the gold.
Furthermore, that these same interests find it not only profitable but necessary to control the dispensing of information should come as no surprise, as they continue to fund both and all sides of any conflict that has the end result of entrenching their own power and weakening any opposition. The price of their freedom is giving up the illusion of Euro security. The uncertainty of a Drachma future that forces fiscal balance even more stringent than that the Germans would impose apparently scares the shit out of Greeks more than being debt serfs in perpetuity.
