'1984' Comes To Europe - The End Of Freedom Of Speech In Spain

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Martin Armstrong via ArmstrongEconomics.com,

Spain has shown that it is fully on board with the Brussels authoritarian direction of ending democracy. Those in power have simply convinced themselves that the people do not understand what is good for them so they must impose their will upon the people but raw force. How does this differ in any what from the justification of imposing communism? This is the death of all freedom and it is upon our doorstep.

Here are the new laws in Spain:

1. If you photograph security personnel and then share these images on social media: up to €30.000 fine (particularly if photo exposes violence used against a member of the public). This fine could increase depending on the number of Instagram or social media followers you have.

2. Tweet or retweet information or the “location of an organized protest” can now be interpreted as an act of terrorism as it incites others to “commit a crime” (now that “demonstrating” in many ways has become a crime). Sound “1984”-ish? Read about Orwell and his time in Spain.

3. Snowden-like whistle blowing is now defined as an act of terrorism. If you write for a local publication, be careful what you print, whom you speak to, and whether the government is listening.

4. Visiting or consulting terrorist websites – even for investigative purposes – can be interpreted as an act of terrorism. Make sure you use “Tor” browser, reject cookies, and don’t allow pop-ups. Not to mention, don’t post it on your Facebook timeline!

5. Be careful with the royal jokes! Any satirical comment against the royal family is a new crime “against the Crown”. For example, “What did Leticia and the Bishop have to say after they ––“ (SORRY CENSORED).

6. No more hassling elected members of the government or local authorities – even if they say one thing in order to be elected, but then go and do the exact opposite. Confronting them about this hypocritical behavior. Even if you see them in the street chatting to a street cleaner, dining at their favorite expensive restaurant, or having their shoes shined by that physics graduate who cannot find a decent job in the country, hassling them about their behavior is now a criminal offence.

7. Has your local river been so polluted by that plastic factory along the edge that all life has extinguished? Well, tough! Greenpeace or similar protests are now finable from €601–€30.000.

8. Protests in a spontaneous way outside Parliament are now illegal. For example if Parliament passes a hugely unpopular bill, or are debating something extremely important to you or your community, it is now finable from €601 – €30.000. Tip: Use Google Maps to protest just around the corner – but don’t tweet the location!

9. Obstructing an officer in the course of their business, “resisting arrest”, refusing to leave a demonstration when told, or getting in the way of a swinging baton are all now finable offences from €601 – €30.000.

10. Showing lack of respect to officers of the law is an immediate fine of €100 – €600. Answering back, asking a disrespectful question, making a funny face, showing your bottom to an officer of the law, or telling him/her that their breath reminds you of your dog’s underparts is now, sadly, not advisable.

11. Occupying, squatting, or refusing to leave an office, business, bank or other place until your complaint has been heard as a protest is now a €100 – €600 fine (no more flash mobs).

12. Digital protests: Writing something that could technically “disturb the peace” is a now a crime. Bloggers beware, for no one has yet defined whose peace you could be disturbing.

Well, how did this thread get here?  This was from this morning which I did read but did so on my phone and I don't blog from that thing.  I hate smart phones.

I was involved with some bullshit alumni baseball game that I said I didn't want to play in.  I was there to to drink beer and look at young ladies which I did but then this happened.  It had been twenty years since I picked up a NCAA baseball bat.  Notice that I am not wearing any baseball gear at all and in my everyday work boots which I werar everywhere for social events.  Mrs. M filmed it because she thought she would make fun of me later.  All of those guys still play and people were like "What the fuck?  How did you do that in work boots?".  Well, for fuck sakes...  I didn't have a lot growing up.  No batting glove either.:-)  Just hit the fucking ball will ya?  I already had at least six beers in me by then.  That's redneck baseball.  The announcer did not announce me either because I did not want to be announced.  There is no reason to waste time with shit like that.

Later on in the evening I witnessed my first flash mob.  I didn't even know what it was at first.  I rented a a hotel room not far from downtown because drinking is not OK after a while.  I had it all set up in advance but no hotels will let you smoke in them anymore it seems so I was ouside when the bars closed.  Well, all of a sudden about 150 really drunk kids descended on the Holiday stationstore next to the hotel.  Girls, boys, white, black and all around the ages of 20 to 25.  They took whatever they wanted and not really realizing what was happening I was not able to capture that on video and only caught the tale end.  They just all went onto the gas station and took whatever they wanted and fled.

No one ever said that I was the brightest bulb ever but that was wrong.  I do not condone that sort of thing.  I was somewhat drunk but these kids were wasted out of their minds.  Of course the cops showed up and I stayed clear but I had to watch.  Some of the idiots wandered over by me and started eating their loot and of course I had to say something.  I told them to get the fuck away with their loot and get drunk asses away.  The one guy said, "Dude what is your problem?".  "Well for fuck sakes you just robbed the gas station and all I want to is smoke a fucking cigarette.  Dude, do you know that the cops are coming?", If I have to stand outside like a second class taxpaying citizen who has rented a full rate hotel room then I do not want you here.

Of course the cops showed up en masse and there at least six squads which really put a damper on my idea of smoking some weed.  Oh well.  I will say this much, these kids attacked that gas station with precision and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it.  The cops were far too late to do anything.  They were very effective for being as drunk as hell.  I do not agree with stealing from other people but what I do like is that and organized group of drunk kids were able to completely overpower the business in about 120 second and were mostly gone by the time the cops got there.

The one other thing that was interesting is that I was telling Mrs. M about that experience and I said that they were Millennial Kids.  Mrs. M said "NO, those were not Millenials but a different generation."  Mrs. M actually is a Millenial herself.  She is correct.

Well, these kinds of hysterical laws always come as an ordered set of phenomena.

Other elements include the bombing of police stations, the assisination of judges and politicians and the arrival of foreign "advisors".

Good luck Spain. You're going to need it.

number one is interesting, the police download photographs of protestors from media feeds (Tienemen Square) in order to arrest them,  but what exactly is the purpose of posting pictures of security personnel? is there some sort of resistance movement aimed at the lower rung of the ladder? i mean you want to stop these guys you always take out the guy at the top (Heydrich, Czechoslovokia) but then if you are an informant (French resistance) or a Vichy sympathizer, they might come for you as well. well once the french started lopping off heads in the revolution it was hard to stop. number one, a hard rain is going to fall

Yeah it's not like Spain was one of the last Old World arch-conservative monarchies which made war on everyone west of the Danube and routinely burned people alive, then conquered and enslaved half the new world at the point of a bloody sword resulting in a colonial nightmare that is nowhere near its end, then become a reactionary dictatorship and the longest-lived Fascist state in history. Their spot in the pantheon of freedom and liberty was completely fucking assured... until this!

Oh how could I forget to mention that in its history up to 1975, Spain was nominally republican-democratic for approximately NINE whole years.

Spain was an agrarian, peasant society and their biggest export olive oil until Franco started industrialization in the 1950s. It all went wrong for Spain in 1492 when they kicked out the Jews and Moslems and became monocatholic. All that New World gold didn't do them much good in the end, Hedgers might note.

Well, there you have it. Communists are on full display. They have been there all along, just waiting for the right time to show themselves. You see, that is why ofaggot has been trying to take our guns away from us. If they tried this bullshit, we would be cleanng house in DC. But since we are sitting on about 200 million weapons held by civilians, its a bit of a task to do this. Europe sucks, has always sucked and will keep on sucking. Your crap has bled onto our shores and we are in the process of clearing it out. And we will. Next, we will be heading your way to flatten a few williages...er Villiages. Also, you can have your faggot soccer crap back too. Its gay.....like you guys are.
