The Last Days Of 'Normal Life' In America

If you have got family and friends that you would like to visit before things start getting really crazy, you should do so within the next couple of months, because these are the last days of “normal life” in America. The website where I have posted this article is called “End of the American Dream“, but perhaps I should have entitled it “The End of America” because that is essentially what we are heading for. The debt-fueled prosperity that so many of us take for granted is about to come to a screeching halt, and we are about to enter the hardest times that any of us have ever known. And I am not just talking about economics either. Based on all of the intel and information that I have gathered, we are about to enter a “perfect storm” that is going to shake this country in just about every possible way that it can be shaken. So I hope that you will truly savor this summer – days like this will not come around again any time soon.
Have you ever known someone that lived a seemingly charmed life even though that individual made foolish decision after foolish decision?
In the end, reality almost always catches up with people like that.
And in so many ways, we have been living a charmed life as a nation even though we have been making incredibly foolish decisions for decades. We have cursed ourselves over and over again, and just about every form of evil that you can possibly imagine is exploding all around us. As a nation, we now stand for just about everything that is foul, disgusting and wicked, and the rest of the world is absolutely horrified by what has happened to us.
Once upon a time, we were one of the most loved nations on the entire planet.
Now we are one of the most hated.
The things that we have been doing to ourselves and to other countries are about to catch up with us in a major way. We thought that we were getting away with everything that we were doing, but that was never the case. When you do evil, there is always a price to pay.
Over the past few weeks, some very strange things have begun to happen. And in the months ahead, we are going to see some more unusual events. But to be honest, this is just the tip of the iceberg. For now, you are just going to have to trust me on this one.
If my tone sounds ominous, that is good, because that is precisely the mood that I am trying to convey. Right now, there are major things going on behind the scenes, and all of our comfortable little lives are about to get shaken up big time.
I have often written about the global elite and about how they like to go about doing things. Throughout history, they have always liked to create order out of chaos. In other words, they will often purposely create a crisis in order to push through things that they would not be able to accomplish during “normal” times.
I believe that we are about to enter one of those periods of time. The problems that we are about to experience are going to be used to justify radical “solutions” that will further the overall agenda of the elite. But because we will be in the middle of an “emergency”, a lot of people will choose to go along with those solutions.
Sadly, most people don’t understand how the world works because they are so consumed with other things. We live in a society that is absolutely addicted to entertainment. Just recently, I wrote about how the average American spends more than 10 hours a day plugged in to some form of media. If we are not watching television, we are listening to the radio, going to movies, playing video games, messing with our smartphones or spending endless hours on the Internet. And more than 90 percent of the “programming” that we are fed through these devices is produced by just 6 absolutely gigantic media corporations.
And who controls those gigantic media corporations?
The elite do.
And have you noticed how “the mainstream media” loves to divide us?
Today, Americans are more divided than ever it seems. Our news broadcasts endlessly fixate on “black vs. white”, “male vs. female”, “liberal vs. conservative”, “rich vs. poor”, etc, etc.
Americans are extremely angry and frustrated at this point, but most of our anger and frustration is directed at one another.
How can we ever hope to come up with any solutions for our nation if we spend so much time hating our fellow citizens?
But this is just how the elite like it.
They love to play divide and conquer. If we were united, we would be far more difficult to manipulate.
And even if we did find a way to come together, what values and principles would we use to rebuild this nation?
The truth is that most Americans deeply reject the values and principles that the founders of this country once held so dear.
Personally, I am very optimistic about the future. My wife and I believe that the greatest chapters of our lives are still ahead of us.
But am I optimistic about the future of the United States?
No, I am not.
Perhaps you are reading this and you have come to the conclusion that I am being irrationally negative. If so, you are probably spending way too much time plugged in to the “propaganda matrix” that I described above. The establishment wants you to believe that everything is going to be just fine and that the best days for this world are ahead.
If you think that I am wrong, I challenge you to bookmark this page. Then, after some time has passed, come back and revisit what I had to say today.
I believe that you will be quite shocked by how your perspective has changed.
The last half of this year (2015) is going to represent a major turning point, and we are moving into hard times unlike anything that America has ever seen before.
Unfortunately, most of the “sheeple” are going to be completely blindsided by what is coming. They just continue to follow their utterly clueless leaders down a path toward oblivion.
But the good news is that once the “shaking” starts, many of these “sheeple” will begin to wake up.
When that happens, who will those “sheeple” turn to for answers?

Could you be more specific?
I suspect this will be the scene in 2 years or less:
Commerce coming to a screeching halt. Gas at 20.00 a gallons or more. No traffic. Empty shelves. Hungry and angry teens breaking into homes. Cops burning down the block trying to flush out one person. Door to door searches. Americans are not foreigners in their own nation and will be treated like illegal immigrants should be. It's going to be why the founding fathers tried to the best of their ability to make the Constitution of the United States a document that would stand the test of time. When a nation cannot protect its heroes from snipers, it's time to ask if we tried hard enough. First act of an invading army is taking over communications and airwaves.
Our military forces have failed to protect us. (Evil thrives when good men do nothing).

Ready as am gonna be for whatever is coming. Bring it on already. 'Public servant' caused disasters are on the horizon. They are not the true and unlimited sovereign government, we are, all 300 million of us. We are still here so continuity of the real government is assured after the traitor elites crash the system.

All that has to be done to create an Armageddon-like situation is to have the money printing presses stop and all global commerce come to a halt. Infrastructure goes away, food goes away and even electricity and water go away.
In a situation like that it might be easy for a couple of hundred people to band together form a tribe and figure out how to survive in the wilderness. But what if the number of people is 7 billion? 7 billion people alone in the wilderness with no food, water or electricity. THERE IS YOUR ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!
Which is why anyone with recognition of what's happening now should do what I did over 3 years ago. Move to the boonies and set up self-sufficient digs.
I did this alone, all by myself. But if others aren't such loners and hermits like me, they can collaborate with friends and/or family. OTOH, it appears that friends and/or family are the biggest excuse most people give for NOT moving away and becoming self-sufficient.
But at this point, time is short. VERY short.

First, I moved to the southern hemisphere over 3 years ago. I live in the extreme boonies, 125km from the nearest human being, in a location not accessible by land vehicles. I spent 90% of my life savings to create my self-sufficient digs. I can now literally survive the rest of my natural life (many decades and beyond) with ZERO input from any other human being.
I have no cash, no bonds, no stocks, no financial accounts of any kind... and haven't for many years. I still have a very modest quantity of gold and silver burried where nobody could find it in a million years (literally).
I HAVE NO INCOME, and will never need income.
So turn on your brain now and think. Why would any of these predators have any incentive to "track me down"? And exactly how would they want to "deal with me"? What for? I have nothing they want (fiat, fake paper wealth). I have NOTHING to do with them.
And in fact, that is PRECISELY what I've done. I've simply removed myself from their "system". So I'm not abusing their system, I've escaped it. I'm not breaking their laws, I've escaped them. I'm outta sight, outta mind, outta their fiat system.
Q: Why on earth would they care about me?
A: They won't.
Q: What would they want to do with me?
A: Nothing... I have nothing they want.

The world (or outer space for that matter) is never completely safe, so all such protests are completely irrelevant and silly. What is relevant and not silly is to figure out ways to reduce our risks at the same time we establish a sustainable lifestyle we enjoy.
The main reason you and most others can't understand my approach is simple. You are so used to be completely immersed in "the system", you almost can't imagine NOT being immersed in "the system". You are like a fish that simply cannot imagine life is possible outside the water (the system). But you're wrong. Obviously you're wrong. Life on land is possible. Life in the air is possible. Life in outer space is possible. More options exist than the conventional "system" you and ~99.999% of humans life in.

To do what I did is not trivial. I admit that. However, having gone through the whole process and looking back, it really was fairly straightforward. The only reason doing what I did isn't trivial is... because not many people do. That's all. None of the steps are that difficult, they're just not automatically completely obvious. Some thought and planning are required. Research solar-power systems. Research battery (power storage) systems. Research DC-to-AC converter systems. Research water storage, filtration, purification systems. Research places in the world that will appeal to you. And so forth. Today, the internet contains lots of sources for almost everything you need.
I'm helping a couple tiny groups of people to set themselves up similar to me, albeit in different parts of the world (all southern hemipshere). Hopefully they will persist.

BTW, I will admit that a great many people cannot easily do what I did. Why? Because they lived conventional lives, and got themselves tangled up in "the system" in ways that are difficult to extract. While I was very frugal my whole life, others borrow and spend on luxuries they didn't really need, and usually didn't really enjoy very much for very long. And I saved my pennies and never borrowed. So instead of being in debt, I had about $400K worth of PM. Which is what I spent to pay for all the components of my self-sufficient digs in the boonies. While I could have created less comfortable, luxurious digs for perhaps $200K, it would be difficult to create anything like my digs with less.

And I must repeat something I and others have said many times. Just taking the simple step of moving to a place in the world where you are not considered a "citizen" removes most burdens and eliminates most risks. When you live where you are considered a "visitor", the local predators-that-be do not think of you as their slave. Instead, they think of you more like a welcome guest who they assume is spending outside money into their economy. And so, they leave you alone. Which is all I want.
You're stuck in the matrix.

But the world outside the matrix is real, and that's where I live.
You could too. But then, you'd have to want to.
If it hits the fan you will likely not be safe in other countries for a number of reasons, not least of which the locals will blame their misfortunes and economic collapse on the USA and people in it.
Then if you do survive, there will be those who conclude you may have coin which will set you up for kidnapping or theft.
If that doesn't happen and you run out of money or lose it or it becomes worthless how will you survive in a strange nation where unemployment and poverty is the norm?
A year ago I lived in the mountains in Mexico near a small community. They first thought I was American. I had many comments about my height, I am only 6'2" but was taller than most there. I noticed the locals warmed to me cnsiderably when they discovered I was a Canadian, not a gringo.
I have known people who were kidnapped and murdered down there. Mexican and American. It is fairly safe in many areas, but there are places it is not and it is sometimes difficult to discern. I have been in barrios where no one bothered me and in other places I felt the hair on the back of my neck rise.
Of course people don't like arrogant buttheads! My experience has been, if you simply behave in a gentle, friendly manner, people don't care where you're from.
Also, I live 125km from the nearest human being in the southern hemisphere. I fly my little airplane ~250km to "town" (population 100 or so) to pick up mail/packages about once every 2 or 3 months. I was born in China to Chinese parents, so I don't look like a gringo, and thus avoid being automatically seen as "an ugly American" (or even "white"). Nonetheless, I don't think life would be any different for me if I was a tall white American... unless I acted like "an ugly American".
Who, exactly do you imagine will kidnap me? The people in the town I visit are always friendly and we get along great whenever I stop for a meal or to buy something in the market. I've taken several of them for fun flying trips over the areas near their town. As far as I can tell, everyone likes me, because I'm just a simple, happy, friendly, considerate helpful human being.
Plus, the people in this town are also self-sufficient for practical purposes. They grow their own food and so forth. They aren't completely disconnected from the system, but they are largely disconnected. They don't know where I live... or even which direction. Do you really imagine these people will attack me? I know better. Besides... they never know when I'll come to town. I don't need to see anyone. Once in a while I land at 2am~5am in the morning when literally nobody in town is awake and pick up my stuff (open my mail/package/storage box with my key).
You ask "how will I live"? The answer is, I spent 90% of my life savings to set up my self-sufficient digs in the boonies. At first I was self-sufficient in every way except food. It took me almost 3 years, but now I grow all my own food. So I'm 100% self-sufficient in every way. I do admit that I still buy the final 5 herbs/spices that I haven't completely got growing properly, but I don't need any of them.
And so, I am in the situation where I could live the rest of my life perfectly fine if every human being on planet earth died tomorrow. I don't need any money for the rest of my life. Being a techie, I do spend a few bucks now and then, but I don't actually need anything I buy, so I could stop.
Like almost everyone, you don't realize that the ABSOLUTE BEST place to live is where people are "poor"... though only those in rural areas (because they grow their own food and know how to live a viable and minimally comfortable life without money).
You should think about the concept "poor". The fact is, I am now "poor" in the sense that I spent 95% of my life savings to create my self-sufficient digs, and no longer have any income. So if you measure "poor" in terms of income or savings, I am poor. Very poor. Super poor. Which is GREAT. I much prefer enjoying my life than spinning a squirrel cage.
Having said that, some ways of being poor royally suck. And yes, some places (especially in substantially populated areas) are VERY DANGEROUS. That is true today, before the crash, and has always been true. I stay away from those places, and I always have. Why others do not is totally beyond me.
People who live their entire lives in or near cities have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what life is like in very rural areas. Not a clue. They have a completely wrong idea. Having said that, I do acknowledge that "places are different", so you can surely find places that are BAD that are small and highly rural. So part of being wise is to pay attention to everything about your location and situation. In my case this is less important, because I live so far from the nearest human beings. But I also chose the tiny town where I receive mail/packages carefully to avoid problems.
I keep seeing ZH messages that say something like "nowhere is completely safe, so there is no place to escape". That's absurd, because many places are much more or less safe than others, and many places are much more or less comfortable than others, and so forth. So the point is to carefully choose a place that has the best set of positive characteristics (safety, beauty, comfort, etc) at whatever risk level you wish.
In my case, I live where risk is near zero, and the environment is stunning, gorgeous and comfortable (to me). So such is possible. It does require some out-of-the-box thinking and taking actions though, which rules out the vast majority of humans, who were raised and brainwashed from birth to feel comfort in the matrix.
I am always stunning to hear people "we cannot be safe"... and then stay in the most dangerous places, as if "massive risk" is identical to "infinitesimal risk".
Anybody that has spent longer than a month living on a third world country knows that being inside an economic death spiral doesn't mean the end of life ( Yes, life as you had it) but one has to be willing to adapt to everything just to survive.
Always hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

I've read the article, and I've read some of the comments.
Got some (perhaps ignorant) questions/points:
1. Why?
A global economic meltdown is probably unavoidable at this point, and that will produce a lot of misery and strife. There could even be force applied martially, to maintain some civil order, for a time.
But...an elitist takeover?
Again, I ask, why?
2. History has shown, even would-be megalomaniacs, that every dictatorship ultimately fails because there's ALWAYS someone else lustful of your power. Evil is always extinguished...eventually. They know this too.
3. Anything "conquered" becomes uninteresting and boring quickly.
4. There's no way to get a handle on 7 billion people, especially when actually challenged. It's the NEXT Tiennamen Square the Chinese government fears most. Why does anyone think they've gone into such enormous debt (which now chokes them), building unnecessary infrastructure, if not to keep more than a billion people engaged in, at least, pseudo-prosperity?
They worry daily what happens if it ever stops.
5. LA's Watts and South Central would keep at least half the U.S. Army bogged down for months, all by itself.
And there are hood rat enclaves all over...
Imagine the irony of today's ghetto thug becoming tomorrow's freedom fighting "commando"...

JUST THE SAME, it wouldn't hurt to sell off the real estate, take the cash and invest in gold, silver or real estate outside the USA. As for me, I'm split between Panama and Belize. I'll decide when I get there. But whichever little country you move to, do it quick. It's going to be quite a show - safe to watch only from a distance.

Here are my predictions for 2015 in no particular order:
Parts of America will experience thunder storms;
Parts of America will experience snow storms;
These calamities will seem novel to young ones watching the news with their parents as they live in some parts of America where there is plenty of sunshine and little rain or snow.
Dow and Nasdaq will drop then miraculously bounce back, then drop again, and bounce back again... Somewhere in there trading will be halted for technical reasons.
Price of gas will go down / price of gas will go up - this will happen at least twice in the coming week.
A plane will crash (somewhere in the second half of 2015) and a ferry will sink (somewhere in the second half of 2015) killing some people - there'll be investigations into these.
Tomorrow at 3:22pm Eastern time a Honda will get into an accident. At 3:23pm Pacific time a Chrysler traveling southbound will collide with another vehicle. Coincidence? I think not. The two events will happen in New York and LA.

You've been ignoring the signs. The debt-as-money system is creaking close to collapse as interest rates approach (and occasionally dip below) the zero bound as a means of keeping said system on life support. Since the only way under the current system to create enough money to pay back onerous interest obligations is to - well - borrow more money into existence, the amount of debt and interest continues its inexorable rise upward. There appears to be no end in sight except total breakdown of the system and mortgaging of entire states, as has happened with Greece recently and with countless banana republics.
The Western industrialized countries have been able to avoid facing the true cost of this debt by seeking economic growth in new markets ripe for the taking by debt money, but they no longer have an outlet. The rot is slowly but surely setting in and Greece is just the first sign. With the collapse of the Eurozone periphery Germany, France, and the UK will be next. Combined with the events going on in China and the US's staggering levels of debt, we in America are headed for financial ruin as well.

Spot on Mr. Snyder. As a socialist (a real one, not the fake social democrats they have in most of Europe) I can relate to what he, a conservative is saying. We need to bury our conflicts and disagreements worldwide and work on a common platform that all political ideologies and religious groups can rally around in our common struggle against the rich. Our fight must be international in scope, embracing anyone, be they left-wing, right-wing, or centrist, so long as they are willing to commit against the fight against the wealthy and powerful bankers and corporations. They have played us against each other for too long in order to cement their position; that has got to change.
This is sarcasm, right? I mean, no one believes socialism is good... Do they? I mean how many examples of failure do we need? Not one socialist country stands out as a success... Soviets, Greece, Cuba, Venezuela, France (close to collapse), UK (close to collapse), the rest of the PIGS, Vietnam, etc., etc. All are or have failed... So, tell me you're kidding, please. I suck at detecting sarcasm online.
It's not sarcastic. All of the countries you've identified are state-capitalist countries (government owns the means of production and gives workers no input on how to run) or social democracies (large welfare state with private capitalist ownership), or a mixture of both. Socialism is worker control of large enterprises directly, which can freely trade with each other and which takes place in the context of a withering away of the state into a less centralized form. Of course, the rich and powerful are opposed to this because it takes away their levers of economic and political power.
There are many different flavors of socialism than the ones the rich want you to know about, many of which have proven quite successful and taking place in a state much smaller than "socialist" ones (for example the former Yugoslavia, until it recieved "aid" from the West aimed at creating a capitalist system). Moreover, even the countries following inferior forms of socialism, such as the Soviet Union, have generally failed to perform since adopting a capitalist system. Russia's GDP per capita has barely passed that of the Soviet days and that of many republics is below it.
I am sure that very soon, people will be talking about how Americans have been borrowing to maintain their unearned extravagent lifestyle. Just as they accuse the Greeks now.
Sure, we'll be blamed, ridiculed, but what else is new? The main difference between us and the Greeks is obvious, we have an economy, they don't. We work longer and harder than they ever would. We are among if not the most productive workers in the world. Very few, except the crazy liberals, expect the government to fund our lifestyles with crazy pensions and retirement at age 50. Yup, we will be the scapegoat but it doesn't make it true. The Greeks, other PIGS, France and the UK are all liberal utopia's and way worse off than the US... At least we can defend and defeat any standing army in the world... How can you defend the Greek's? They have a national pastime of not paying their taxes, defaulting and whining about it... it literally boggles my mind and its not like I don't feel bad for the worst off over there, but my God this was 6+ years in the making and they voted for it so they deserve some, a lot, of ridicule.
I'm taking seriously my preparatory obligations in the face of the oncoming econopocalypse, but man: this article is pure garbage, from top to bottom. Fundamentalist Jesus-worshipers like the author of this post, Michael Snyder, consider it a travesty that we aren't mandating Christian indoctrination in public schools. After all, that's what the founding fathers wanted... right?

Anyone who ever read the book of Matthew would know that public prayer is not what Jesus endorsed.
Problem is most 'Christians' never read the book :) And when you think about it it makes sense. Why would you put someone in control of your communication with the Divine? Like they do before events, wars and everything else. Here some Nazi is praying for his side to win and and a Jew is praying to his God which kind of happens to be the same one from what I can tell.
When he foretold the future he claimed "this generation shall not pass" or something akin to it before Armageddon hit. In and around 70 AD in that part of the world Nero persecutes Christians and in 79 Pompeii was leveled by a volcano and the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed. It must have seemed like the end for many and for many it indeed was their last days, as it is for all of us sooner or later.
The problem giving a precise date on the "end of life as we know it" is you've given a precise date. You have any idea how many have made this mistake? Too many to count. No doubt that we are screwed, but you are loading conspiracy theories on top of biblical prophesies with your gut feeling... I can't think of a worse combination. Hey, I'm ready if it happens, going short next month and am all prepped up already so bring it. However, I will take the other side of your prediction and besides market plunges nothing else will happen. After all, how many "this is it" moments has this very blog given us over the last 7 years? Dozens? Hundreds? Maybe even more and here we are trillions more in debt, yields near the lows and markets at their highs... Yeah, someday it will all end but don't put a date on it.
Normal life (i.e. the "normal life" we have known since the end of World War II) might end within 1-5 years. It might take a bit more time, perhaps a decade, but we are probably headed towards a global armed conflict on the scale of World War II or worse. It is impossible to say whether this conflict will be strictly conventional or nuclear in nature; I suspect that once either side is faced with defeat, nuclear weapons will fly. Where we end up is anyone's guess, but there will be millions dead. Families across the US will once again know what it means to sacrifice a son, daughter, wife or husband for the nation. City dwellers will be humbled, as they will depend upon the graces of those they once despised. Pacifists will be filled with bloodlust. Silicon valley won't know which way to turn. Economic markets will be reset. Few will talk of global warming, gun control, racial discrimination or gay marriage. Instead, people will be focused on survival ... of themselves and of the nation.
What I do not believe is that we will suffer a slow economic death in peace, as the author seems to posit. Hell, the way things are headed, we will face a major military conflict well before we ever face economic death. The world's unitary superpower will not die quietly, and in fact, may actually win the subsequent military confrontation. What we must expect is that the United States of America that emerges from such a conflict will be fundamentally different than the one we have now. The world will also be permanently and irrevocably changed. Will we be better or worse? I don't know. What I do know is that we cannot continue down the path we are on for much longer. The situation that the world faces right now, with many nations (the US included) racking up such debt that it will only ever be repaid in lives, exceeds the ignition point of most major conflicts of history. If you think that the world was a powder keg before World War I kicked off, then your eyes are not opened right now.
