Everything You Need To Know About The Greek Crisis And ECB Fascism In Two Paragraphs

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

Yanis Varoufakis just sat down for his first interview since resigning as Finance Minister of Greece. He talked frankly with Harry Lambert of the New Statesman. Here are the two most important paragraphs from the transcript.

There is no democracy in Europe. None.

Varoufakis said that Schäuble, Germany’s finance minister and the architect of the deals Greece signed in 2010 and 2012, was “consistent throughout”. “His view was ‘I’m not discussing the programme – this was accepted by the previous [Greek] government and we can’t possibly allow an election to change anything.

“So at that point I said ‘Well perhaps we should simply not hold elections anymore for indebted countries’, and there was no answer. The only interpretation I can give [of their view] is, ‘Yes, that would be a good idea, but it would be difficult. So you either sign on the dotted line or you are out.’”

Any questions?

"Everything You Need To Know About The Greek Crisis..."

If the Greeks didn't spend WAY more than they brought in and they didn't irresponsibly borrow they wouldn't be in this situaiton.  Frick'n corrupt a$$hole politicians and moron voters.  Everything you need to know.  Welcome to the U.S. as well, BTW.

MMMMmmmm...yes...to summarize, you believe there are only irresponsible borrowers, not irresponsible lenders?

Well that's just a load of crap.

Next, what do you make of the fact that when corrupt oligarchs take out bad loans, enriching both themselves and the lenders, it is the ordinary people that are made to pay?

I think you may be missing part of the equation. Not contesting your irresponsible borrowing message, but when Goldman cooked their books they were cooking Drachmas which turned into Euros which eventually doubled the value of the debt. So a wee bit of the blame has to go to GS since you're spreading it around...

No, I didn't miss that part and yes it is a tiny factor.  Although I understand VERY well what zero (borrowed) times any multiplier (lets say 1000, not just two) equals (zero for the math challenged).  There was an easy way avoid all of this.  Greece, and the U.S... and many others... have actively decided NOT to take that path.  Will a lot of innocent people get screwed by their parent's and grandparent's voting habits, voting for irresponsible spenders?  Yes.

Well said, Surfs Up. You saved me the trouble of replying to that creepy comment on "the Greeks".

Most people deal in abstract nouns like The Greeks. Your comment clarified the issue perfectly: Certain people, Greek or otherwise, stole a lot of money under color of law. Now, other people will have to reimburse those from whom the money was stolen. End of that story.

Except, it seems that the ones who stole the money were in collusion with the ones from whom it was stolen! So what we really have here is an insurance fraud. And those who didn't get out of the burning building will be the very ones required to pay the fire insurance claim. How about them apples!

So the "correct" answer is to make other working people suffer by paying for what Greece decided to do?  Um... no.

There isn't a huge pot of money held by some nefarious oligarch just waiting to pay for everyone's borrowing and bills.  Sorry.  If it doesn't come from the Greeks It will come out of the pockets of working class people.  But since we don't hear/talk about that part of the story screw them, right?

Maybe the BIGGEST part of the problem has been and is that the, primarily jewish moneylenders, you know those guys who Jesus chased out of the temple, for all you Christians CONservites......placed the "value" of value so high that it's beggared every person or country who engaged in their rape and fucking of the whole world through usury, except of course all of the other jews and any gentiles they could influence and dominate as chattle.

I think common Greek people are very much like all other people.  They want to have healthy, fulfilling lives, raise children, see them prosper,  just like everybody else, except they are and have been at the behest of the oligarch jew, thief bankers, who, in my opinion should be hung to a man or fraulien for being the power hungry pigs they have shown themselves to be for hundreds of years.

I call on Greece to start the fires...again......burn the banks and your governments and grow vegatables and goats....rise up and kill this scum that has seized the earth.......just start the flame.......once again!  Courage friends! Europe will follow then Amerika. Better to stand and look your murderer in the eye with dignity than kneel in subjugation for an existance as an animal........only to starve like vermin.

Fact is - the Greek state has been living far beyond its means - has had a subsidy from the Euro-zone that has AVERAGED Euro 70 billion per year.  AVERAGED.  Understand Greece has made NO debt or interest repayments for the duration of the past 5 years, for ALL of the payments have been financed by the Troika. Instead Greece has enjoyed a NET inflow of approx Euro 20 billion per year. If you borrow money - you pay it back as agreed.  Thats how it works.

1. The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

2. Government is a broker in pillage, and every election is a sort of advance auction in stolen goods.

3. Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance.

4. Democracy, too, is a religion. It is the worship of jackals by jackasses.

5. Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage.

6. Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

7. Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under.

8. If a politician found he had cannibals among his constituents, he would promise them missionaries for dinner.

9. As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

10. All government, of course, is against liberty.

The real issue that nobody wants to face is that sovereign debt is inherently odious, because it automatically creates a situation where one group of people receive the money and a different group of people have to pay the principal and interest.

reality has a way of biting the theoretically minded.

In real life accepting risk involves a downside; that is real life. It happens that circumstances don't allow you to pay your debts and then in all civilized societies you go into bankruptcy and your business is liquidated and your debt never gets repaid beyond your physical means.

What is true for persons or corporations is true for governments of nation states; with one exception : A nation state NEVER gets liquidated. It declares bankruptcy, gets cut off from the market, untl it prints new sovereign paper free from past debt and then creditors rebegin to accept it as collateral and exchange, as it is by definition an entity that never dies and is thus a viable proposition for future business.

To put it simply a nation state of marxist bend, type Groucho or Karl,  is a hard dicked proposition that makes the eyes of a lender gleam like those of a virgin who wants to get laid for a handsome return on investment.

Now that is capitalism in motion for a wholesome filly hungry for emotion. Even the marxists clap that honey trap. They are human.

Don't ge me wrong, I'm not saying the Greek people are getting what's coming to them. I'm saying that the Greek leaders should grow a pair and default already. It's the only way out of this. Having a democratic vote asking the people if they want any more austerity or not, without clearly outlining what the choices mean, is just plain ridiculous, and the result of that vote not being honoured now is not a lack of democracy. It's a lack of brains in those that decided to hold the vote in the first place.

If they were going to vote at all, the choices should have been:

1) Default and take the consequences.

2) Stay and endure whatever pain the creditors feel like imposing.

Tue, 07/14/2015 - 17:20 | 6312646 falak pema

benevolent dictatorship is like a virgin whore.

Constitutional Republic is based on democracy to elect those who define the Constitution, make its laws and then who execute its practical governance. Under the rule of law whose vigilence is delegated to an independent judiciary. And under the control of the fourth estate of a free press which acts as whistle blower in the name of general interest.

Notwithstanding that each individual is free to exercise his free will to act within the framework of laws whereby his liberty is assured to the extent that it does not exceed nor hamper the liberty of others as defined by the boundaries stipulated within the Law.

Virgin whores are not included in any constitution as a viable category of gender or profession as its etymologically speaking an oxymoron; either a virgin for a moron or a whore for a pussy galore.

ECB fascism?  Greece had a choice. They voted on a choice. Tspiras is the one that decided for them, not the ECB.

Pretty good M. K. Democracy is dead and it is apparent. I wonder if they even bother to tell military personel that they are fighting to protect democracy. Probably not. And sadly it may not even matter.

Stop blaming the ECB and the rest of the trioka. They are just doing what is in their own self interest. Greece is free to leave the euro whenever they want. It is the Greek govenment that needs to be lambasted. They are the ones who sold out there own country. I am suprised there are not riots in the streets.
