Tsipras Stunner: Creditors Said "There Is No Point In Holding Elections" In Bailed Out Countries

Tyler Durden's picture

While Germany's finmin Schauble is about to burst at few capillaries after reading the latest provocation from Tsipras in which he said, according to Reuters, that:

  • GREEK PM TSIPRAS SAYS I SIGNED I DEAL I DO NOT BELIEVE IN BUT I'M WILLING TO IMPLEMENT AND WILL ASSUME RESPONSIBILITIES

It should be the Greek people that are reeling by another, even greater stunner, just spoken by the Greek PM during his TV interview: an admission from the chosen Greek "leader" that Greece, as a
sovereign nation, no longer exists:

  • GREEK PM TSIPRAS SAYS LENDERS GIVE A MESSAGE THAT IN COUNTRIES UNDER A BAILOUT THERE IS NO POINT IN HOLDING ELECTIONS

So the Troika makes it clear that countries under a bailout, such as a Greece was and is about to be indefinitely again, democracy is finished and the country becomes a sovereign ward of a few unelected bureaucrats, and the Greek "prime minister" who also just admitted he is now nothing but a puppet of Greece's new unelected leaders, is Ok with this.

The good news, at least for those who seek to connect dots, is we can now close the book on what Schauble was talking about when he said "Aber glauben Sie mir, das Problem ist lösbar" in this 2011 interview with Welt am Sontag:

Schauble: "We decided to arrive at a political union via an economic and currency union. We had the hope - and we still have it today - that the Euro will gradually bring about political union. But we're not there yet, and that's one of the reasons why the markets are distrustful.

Welt am Sonntag: "So will the markets now force us into a political union?"

Schauble: "Most member states are not yet fully prepared to accept the necessary constraints on national sovereignty. But trust me the problem can be solved."

At this point it is probably also worth repeating what Latvia's outgoing president Berzins said two weeks ago:

[the Greek] debt is so big that everyone understands that it won’t be repaid.... Loans to Greece have just bought time so that those in power don’t have to take decisions. This is like a game: who can hold out longer by not  showing that this money has been lost? This burden has become bigger and there obviously is no possibility to repay.... The debt writedown of Greek debt will come after bankruptcy of state.

Perhaps it is only fitting that democracy officially dies in the country in which it was born, a country which is about to very clearly demonstrate to the rest of the world that in this day and age, banks have infinitely more power and leverage that "sovereign" nations.

As for the Greeks: enjoy your now official "second-rate citizen" status as slaves of Brussels bureaucrats even as you liquidate all your most valuable assets, and hand over your gold for the generous honor of being allowed to repay the Troika's debt.

Yes, FreeMoney, the funding of the political processes purchases the legalized violence to back up the legalized lies, which is by far the most profitable investment for those who can successfully corrupt governments.

It is a typical statistic that the money that funds politics, by successfully corrupting the governments, returns about a thousand fold return on that investment. Furthermore, it appears that setting up inside job, false flag attacks, to get wars based on deceits going, within the overall debt slavery systems, are by far the greatest return on investments. Since governments are based on their assertions to have a legalized monopoly on violence in general, and murder in particular, the history of false flag attacks to get wars started could be viewed as an investment in murder, that paid back orders of magnitude more murders.

Sure, but with no leadership, over-extended supply lines, a complete lack of discipline, and no unifying beliefs, it is really more of a mob than an army.

Makes perfect sense now.  The USSA bailed out their banks with printed money from the feral Federal Reserve.  No point in holding elections in this country until we try, find guilty, and HANG the traitorous politicians and bankers.

"No point in holding elections in this country until we try, find guilty, and HANG the traitorous politicians and bankers." --Colonel Klink

Not true at all, CK: elections remain convincing to 55 percent of the American electorate; 132 million Democrat-Republicans will vote in 2016. It's this veneer of representative governance that matters to TPTB, and with the sheeple population still quite high, "the majority" are reasonably satisfied with the reigning illusion.

...Of course, once the voter participation rate falls below a certain point, the theoretical loss of political mandate becomes potentially problematic for the ruling corporatocracy. But for now, as long as they're holding elections with not-too-entirely-embarrassing turnout numbers, these symbolic ceremonies retain significant value with respect to population control.

It is again time to Listen to Frank...

"The illusion of freedom [in America, Greece ] will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."

first, Tsipras is not the "prime minister", he is the prime minister... using a rethorical device of incredible silliness, that nevertheless is lapped up with glee

second, democracy is not finished, nor is Greece less sovereign. that last word is again something that the "populist" crowd seem to use in a completely different way then the classical way. Philip II of Spain, arguably the most powerful sovereign in history, defaulted three times, btw, and his financial position was practically always dire

third, another rethorical device of incredible silliness: "a puppet of Greece's new unelected leaders". say it again? are Schäuble and the other finmins of the creditor countries of Greece... unelected?

question: if someone is on the correct side of reason, right and debate... why the use of false rethorical devices? and there is the core of populism

i.e. when complex matters are simplified to the max in order to have an appeal for the masses. "it's lies and false propaganda, but for a good cause, don't you see?", paired with "we have to explain things so that people can understand them without thinking too hard or being too well informed, in easy, baby-food portions. sure, it is not so, but otherwise we might lose some support"

but go on, do follow populist opinon-makers telling you what to think in a simplified way. the world, life itself are simple, aren't they? radical solutions work, always, and a good cause can't fail, can it? it's better to believe in a good lie then to find bitter, hard and complex facts, isn't it?

the EU and sovereign governments within it, are the good lie, as you have seen with greece.

Revolt is usually good, but that bad thing about it nowadays is that it gives the US a chance to intervene (see Ukraine, Libya, Syria, etc). And from protest or revolt, one goes into a state of permanent chaos. The best way for a change to happen in Greece would be if the members of Syriza vote down the proposal. But that would be asking that politicians have courage and a conscience which is to ask the impossible.

Historically I believe slaves were not considered to be human beings, but chattel to be bought and sold at whim.

Greece, your leaders negated your founding democracy in a few short months, you are no longer masters of your destiny.

I think it is appropriate for a call to arms, if nothing else to show Europe that you are indeed human and do have a say.

I was taught years ago under common law a contract signed under 'extreme duress' was not considered a 'legal' contract.  I don't know which system of lawthis is all operating under, but holding a gun to a party's head to sign is not exactly kosher in my book.

Aloha, I wrote up a good article, one I have been meaning to for some time. This is one of my better ones, so read it.

Everytime I hear a nukist spew "there is more cancer simply because we are living longer" I want to throw some real stats in their faces.

It fairly hard to find historical data on cancer incidence.

Cited near the bottom is an article that state circa 1900, 3 of 100 deaths were due to cancer.
A chart from the town of Boston 1811 showed 5 cancer deaths of 942. Link and picture is at the far bottom herein.

What are the current stats on cancer deaths? Honestly I haven't included any information here except in links. I deem the answer to that question as so absurdly obvious to not deserve energy put into it.

How many people do you know who have cancer right now? Drop a comment please.

PROVERBS 22:7

"and the borrower is servant to the lender"

Makes sense that the lender would not want elections to confer quasi-authority on someone...who actually has no authority because he and those who elected him sold it in return for a loan.

Keep that in mind next time you hear a phrase like, "We owe it to ourselves."  Or, "Debt doesn't matter", or "Sovereign debt need never reduce, only roll-over", or "things are better when you spread the wealth around".

What is it you think that they REALLY hope to get from such things???  It isn't debt at interest.  No.  The evidence does not support the idea tha money is all they are after.

See?

This is the difference between the Warburgs, who want to own most of us as slaves, and the Rothschilds/Rockefellers, who want to kill most of us enroute to their respective eco-topia/eugeni-topias.

These are a few hundred people who could do nothing so sinister, if normal people were as competent as Santa Claus...  "Makin' a list, and checkin' it twice; Gonna find out who's naughty and nice..."

Even physical force is mostly in your mind.  Even the strong must sleep at night.

Even a tank needs fuel, and a repair shop, neither of which can be protected in any way like a defensive strong point.

The point is that, unlike debt derived from theoretical citizenship, where those who ACTUALLY contract the debt do so at the directon of the populace only conceptually...or not at all as in Obamacare, TARP, TALF, and the Fed's Euro-Area bailouts of 2008-2010, to be oppressed you have to go along.  Because while they show you the teeth, even their teeth have a soft under-belly.

The physical strength of the modern state is mostly a psych job.

Civil unrest from the birhtplace of Democracy will soon be the next headline!  So sad!

We can only conclude that something sinister happened to Tsipras on Sunday when he was prevented from leaving the talks.  Some kind of coercion must have been applied for him to do a complete 180 with the Greek people.  Mind control perhaps?  Something doesn't seem right with this man since the weekend.

It is up to the Greek people and the parliament now.  There is a secret that the central bankers don't want you to know.  The PEOPLE have always had the power, if they unite and make their voices heard as one.

This is how you take your country back from the central bankers:

1. Stop paying taxes. The system cannot continue if they do not collect revenue from the people.

2. Take ALL OF YOUR MONEY our of the bank.  This should have already been done but if not, take it out as soon as they re-open.  This prevents the banking cartel from using fractional reserve lending to feed the ponzi scheme.

3. Go on strike as a nation.  Stop working.  The system cannot continue if people stop feeding the machine.

4. Stop spending your money with multi national corporations.  This feeds the system.  Only spend your money on locally owned goods and services.  Barter if you can.

5. Find another way to pay for goods outside of the Euro.  If you reject the nations currency and convert it to something else (like precious metals), the system cannot continue.

It's up to you now Greece.  My prayers are with you.

What a dark place the world has become.

Tsipras here, Tsipras there, Tsipras isn’t anywhere. If he didn’t like the deal he shouldn’t have signed it. At least he would have been able to look at himself in the mirror in the morning. As for the Greek people, I can only say: Throw the bums out.

In the end, it’s up to the German people to put an end to this nonsense by throwing out the complacent, pillow-farting Merkel-grand-coalition and the criminal lack of leadership plus impetuous defense of the status-quo that has become its trademark.

Allow the German people to refuse funding this ridiculous charade. They don’t want to send any more money to Greece and who could blame them? They’ll never get it back.

"They don’t want to send any more money to Greece"

it doesn't go to Greece, it goes to the Troika Banksters

it's an odeous debt manufactured by the Banksters (mostly Goldman Sachs) to steal Greek assets (using the usual IMF conditions of currency depreciation, privatisation, austerity, outright theft) and to steal from European taxpayers who fund the bailout

the Banksters get real money and real assets for their thin air, interest rate swaps, derivatives and compound interest

Farage warned Tsipras publicly during the recent EU meeting of what was to happen. The entire EU parliament knew whas was goin on. There were no unkowns. The Greeks wanted their Euros and Banks open and the EU banks and Germany wanted Greek assets and Greek Gold.

Lets not have any illussions. Like the proverbial ladies of the night, Greece and the EU, and Merkel and Draghi and the German people knew exactly what favors would be exchanged for what cash. In their way of thinking in the EU, once you bought the prostitute the only thing you need do is to tell her/him what you want done.

OXI, democracy's swan song

As Pilger notes:

“The leaders of Syriza are revolutionaries of a kind – but their revolution is the perverse, familiar appropriation of social democratic and parliamentary movements by liberals groomed to comply with neo-liberal drivel and a social engineering whose authentic face is that of Wolfgang Schauble, Germany’s finance minister, an imperial thug. Like the Labour Party in Britain and its equivalents among those former social democratic parties still describing themselves as ‘liberal’ or even ‘left.’ Syriza is the product of an affluent, highly privileged, educated middle class, ‘schooled in postmodernism.’”

What would an actually radical and democratic Greek government genuinely committed to popular sovereignty have done after gaining office last January 25th? “The day after,” Pilger writes, such a government “would have stopped every euro leaving the country, repudiated the ‘illegal and odious’ debt – as Argentina did successfully – and expedited a plan to leave the crippling Eurozone. But there was no plan. There was only a willingness to be ‘at the table’ seeking ‘better terms.’”

Bunch of leftist nonsense.

Tsipras was entirely able to not sign a deal and issue new drachma. He was entirely able to default on the debt.

He said the debt was unpayable, and that he and Greece had the marxist rigth to continue to run a Venezualean poverty sinkhole.

Then, Germany agreed with him, and showed him, "This is what happens to debtors who default."

Like a welfare queen who demands her "civil rights," he demanded a billion dollars a week welfare from Germany, permanently.

Like all leftist fools, he will blame manipulators, hoarders, speculators, Nazis, blah blah blah.

What he will never blame is Leftist insanity.

How to assert sovereignty… by individual action… or by combining efforts with others of like mind?

It is a major verdict of history that one is a mission of suicide; the other is the only way it has ever been done.

More precisely, to assert sovereignty requires a knowledge of the history, laws and procedures of redress.

You can take 3-6 months to learn this; or, 400 years, and oceans of blood, to learn it… as it took the English from first public declaration of sovereignty (Magna Charta) to fashion reasonably effective means of redress.

Three to six months… or 400 years.

You have stated a great axiom, Clesthenes.

The media keeps referring to the growing wealth gap as the source of revolution in America, whining “the income disparities, the income disparities, the disparities,” even though the welfare family equivalent income ($61,320) in 2011, according to the Senate Budget Committee, exceeded that of America’s Average-Joe median household income ($50,054 before taxes).

As such, the Left-leaning MSM is drumming for class warfare, alleging that the poor need to take on America’s white middle-class “rich.” In their dreams, the Marxist media monopoly would hope for a revolution, rich vs. poor. But when the revolution comes, it will be much different: the middle class vs. the tyrants who have stolen their property, their savings, their Constitutional rights, their freedom of speech and now are assaulting their family.

When will the people of the world learn that they don't need another group of people telling them what to do? Sure, there are assholes in the world that would like to cause harm to the good people, but they would never get enough support for their bullshit if it weren't for government allowing their rise to power in the first place.

Will people ever wake up and realize this? I doubt it. The moon is more likely to crash into the earth before that happens.

This makes me sad.

Dignity

People with it would declare BK and move on.

The Greeks cry 'dignity' then capitulate to undignified demands for a few euros more.

...do not understand...

What's the answer to this?

If Greece defaults and quits the euro,

will the EU punish those member states that trade with Greece?
