The Value Of Google Just Increased By More Than The Market Cap Of 415 S&P500 Companies
Google's result were good (even if the top-line revenue missed), but what investors were looking for, and what had pressured GOOG's stock price for the past year, was concern that runaway hiring and spending were eating away at the bottom line. And that is precisely what Ruth Porat, who was poached from Morgan Stanley in March, decided to give to investors when she said just two words on the call: "expense management."
For those who thought $70M was too rich for a CFO... All Ruth Porat said was "expense management" and Google's market cap soars $56B.

What happened next is the single biggest surge in GOOG market cap in history: at last check the stock was up 14% on the day, equivalent to about $55 billion increase in market cap in just one day.
Putting this in perspective, just today, the value of Google has increased by more than the market cap of 415 S&P 500 companies!

A German company was found to be the biggest tax evader in Greece. A court in Athens found that Hochtief, the German company that was running the “Eleftherios Venizelos” Athens International airport was not paying VAT for 20 years. It is estimated that Hochtief, will have to pay more than 500 million Euros for VAT arrears. Together with other outstanding payments, like those to social security funds, it might have to py more than 1 billion Euros.
It must be noted that under the “Troika” austerity programme Greek employees lost around 400 million Euros from cuts to their salaries.
Hochtief, which is the biggest German Construction company, specializing in airports, was also running the Athens International airport through a subsidiary until 2013, when it sold it’s share to a Canadian company.

Once you realize Google controlls access to all information for many people and they make money from people accessing the internet generally you see that Google is undervalued at any price. I am guessing in 20 years Google will be hundred trillion dollar company.
Ask anyone under 30 how to find the answer to a question, nearly 100% will say "google it". Look around you, all these adds are money for Google. They control in many ways reality for the next generation. If its not in the first page of Google search results its not real.

It certainly was a steal before today. Their per click ad $ is actually stabilizing and the revenue from Youtube and Google Play is growing like crazy.
In this market, Google is probably still undervalued.
They miss on the top line because CPM is falling and mobile is shaky - more people are engaging through mobile over desktop and tablet, and when they do they are going through an app over browser and lastly iphone (which has an inordinate share of 'high value customers') will be bringing native adblock in ios9, thereby affecting google's topline potential even more.
Even my senior citizen parents use adblock on their desktops. I don't understand how adblock isn't being used by 80%+ of the population.
How people don't run adblock/adblock plus en masse befuddles me. With 80+% of revenues tied to display advertising, google should be ripe for destruction.
I do think ios9 with adblock will be a gamechanger though as apple will look to build in native adblock tools into iphone thereby kicking google in the balls.

Google's day has come and will soon be gone. Google Search is crap. Ever try to Search for something specific that you really need information about? Good luck. Their "algorithm" is complete garbage. Just because there are a bunch of links to something tells you nothing about the source's relevance to the info you want. SEO? Another steaming pile of guano. The problem, of course, is putting something in place that does actually work. Google is a good example of the masses enthusiastically going for a bottle of snake oil. If you have high exposure to GOOG I suggest you take cover.
