Trump Lead Surges In Polls, Again

Tyler Durden's picture

Since last week's FOX News poll, Donald Trump has extended his gains dramatically in the race to be GOP Presidential nominee. According to ABC-Washington Post latest poll, 24% of Republicans prefer Trump (up from 18% last week) with Scott Walker nudging ahead of Jeb Bush. Notably the poll was taken from Thursday to Sunday and so does include some reaction from Trump's McCain comments...

As Jim Kunstler concluded earlier,

I’ve proposed for many years that we are all set up to welcome a red-white-and-blue, corn-pone Nazi political savior type. I don’t think Donald Trump is it. But he will be a stalking horse for a far more skillful demagogue when the time comes. There’s a fair chance that the wheels will come off the banking and monetary system well before the 2016 election. Who knows who or what will come out of the woodwork before then.

*  *  *

*  *  *

Here's Martin Armstrong on the matter...

Tump-Donald

Trump is hitting very hard, clearly tapping into the emerging anti-establishment politician trend. He bluntly states, “Who do you want negotiating with China? Trump or Bush?” You could expand that to Hillary. Her negotiations amount to how much they are willing to donate to her questionable charity. People setup such charities because they have money to give back TO society, like Bill Gates. The Clintons started their charity when they were broke. Who is the charity really benefiting and why did Hillary shakedown countries as Secretary of State to pile in money to their questionable charity?

MSNBC keeps trying to focus on Trump’s comments on Mexico. They give him tons of airtime in an attempt to discourage people from voting for him, but they may be creating the exact opposite. Despite what everyone says, he is tapping into the increasingly popular view that everyone is starting to feel, having had enough of politicians, or at least the ones with a brain.

White Christians (Conservatives) ...those that  don't lick the genitals of the Obamanation are the new Jews.  Truly can hardly believe that I've lived to see the day that this nation was closer to the Third Reich or the Bolsheviks than George Washington and the Declaration of Independence.    I don't think that's an exaggeration.

This trend has to be purely a result of more people realizing ALL POLITICIANS ARE CORRUPT.

One has to wonder what would happen if Ron Paul through his hat in the ring... perhaps as an "independent".  The willingness to support "outside the mainstream" has never been higher (in many decades at least).

My suspicion is, Rand Paul is now rightfully seen as "part of the system".  My guess is, Ron Paul has never been seen as "part of the system", even while elected.

This trend also means the door is wide open to other total whack-jobs (speaking here of Trump, not Ron Paul).  And perhaps even to someone not totally whacked.

I have a lot of respect for Ron Paul and his principles, though he seemed to wimp it on the Fed when he was in a position to do something.

However, the reality is that unlike Trump he has virtually no public recognition and he does not have the financial support to reverse that.  In addition, when he was last up at the debates, he came across as a quavering old man.  That is not an image that attracts widespread support for a potential president.

In the current environment you have to be either a machine politician or a superior showman to succeed.  Trump is certainly the latter but has a public reputation about business success that also helps and his repudiation of the machine, which his wealth allows, also earns him public credit.

Ron Paul quit!

His people went to the convention and were shut down, He did not fight.

He never wanted to be President.

Trump is fighting like a leader should.

Ron was way too weak, sorry that is the truth and I gave him money and voted twice for him.

Rambo is a hero with guns blazing, John McCain is just some p***y who was captured.  Never mind that one is fictional and one is real.  The US and much of the developed world is all about living in a dream world these days, piling on debt that can't be repaid at interest rates which are beyond stupidly low, trying to spend and consume the way out of a recession with no hard choices, blaming the banks for giving them loans they couldn't afford and then suing the banks to stay in the homes they couldn't afford, changing the accounting rules on mark to market for banks and allowing pensions to use fictitiously high interest rates to discount liabilities to make them appear small and using unrealistic return assumptions with 5-6% expected returns on bond assets which yield 2%.  The world is filled with a bunch of babies who vote for politicians that will promise unrealistic, unaffordable goodies to be paid for on someone else's dime, be it in Greece, the US or elsewhere.

It's all bullshit and Trump is the master of bullshit, but he is entertainment, he is no Hitler.  They are right that these are dangerous times because this is when the truly scary nuts can rise to power.

The bushes have refered to the Clinton's as family on several occasions and Jeb of course is responsible for the Liberty Medal being bestowed upon one of the most craven corrupt national pols in our lives.

The conservative group ForAmerica released this ad today, claiming that former Florida Gov.Jeb Bush is “unelectable” because he was onstage when Hillary Clinton received the 2013 Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center here in Philadelphia. (Bush was chairman of the center’s Board of Trustees at the time.)

"Jeb has absolutely no credibility to criticize her because he has already anointed her as a great public servant; and he inexplicably did so almost a year to the day of the Benghazi massacre,"L. Brent Bozell, the group's chairman, said in a release announcing the ad. "He will lose, and the public will have to suffer at least another four years of Obama’s policies – and anything worse she has in store for America.”

Trump is an unusual combination that his opponents in the MSM, Repubs and Democrats have never previously had to deal with and they are now struggling:

  • he has better name brand recognition than anyone else in the race except Clinton and Bush
  • that brand includes a public belief in his business acumen, which none of the other candidates have
  • he is better at using today's disaggregated media for self promotion than any of the others
  • he is rich enough to be entirely self-funding if he needs to be (though his use of the media gives him cheap, powerful impact), so he is beholden to no one and the public likes that
  • he says what he thinks and does not back down, i.e. he has a backbone and that gets respect
  • he faces up to reality and so is actually speaking honestly about the real problems facing the US and hurting its people and how to fix them and, given the nature of his business reputation many people believe he actually could fix those problems while none of the others could
  • he thoroughly understands his opponents and the tactics they will use because he has dealt with them for decades
  • he is actually smart, unlike some of the other drongos (incl Hilary and Obama)
  • he has a team of capable people behind him built up over years of business, so not dependent on the political gunslingers that the others hire.

In short, he is their worst nightmare because of his independence of them.

"he is rich enough to be entirely self-funding if he needs to be (though his use of the media gives him cheap, powerful impact), so he is beholden to no one and the public likes that"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bipartisan_Campaign_Reform_Act

And here's the MSM bemoaning the Incumbent protection act.

Proponents of McCain-Feingold said the law would restore trust in the political system. Some suggested the parties would “thrive” because they would be forced to rely on small donors. Critics, however, predicted it would precipitate a tectonic shift of political power away from the parties and toward outside groups, which were likely to be far more extreme and far less accountable.

Donald Trump is living proof that Americans would vote for Bozo The Clown if he were running for President of the United States of America. Moreover, the World cannot accept such a bellicose individual as Trump. Americans en masse are lowbrow enough without Trump occupying the Whore House, and Oral Office. Furthermore, Trump is a carnival barker lacking in social grace and tact. He is a megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder, and Authoritarian Personality Disorder. And whatever other disorders one could throw into the catchall category of the pathological kind.

Would they vote for a Bozo the Clown? Well, they did vote for a Bozo, but after the destruction he’s caused it’s hard to laugh.

And apparently you have your Bozos confused, because 58% of white America did not vote for the current Bozo. And what’s more, if you were an American and not just a misinformed neighbor, you would understand why Donald Trump’s numbers keep going up: it’s because the people who do live here are worried about losing their country to a Third World takeover.

“And every four years we are treated to the same tired, predictable routine: two candidates with few disagreements on fundamentals pretend that they represent dramatically different philosophies of government… and nothing changes.” – Ron Paul, The Revoltuion: A Manifesto, 2008

At least Donald Trump is not giving us warmed over civics textbook platitudes that bear no resemblance to reality as the other presidential candidates who betray us by making peace with the establishment—the same as Kunstler does.

Again, we return to a quote from Kunstler which suggests that Trump may be the stalking horse for a Nazi demagogue to follow. Where is Kunstler’s courage; just name Trump the Nazi and be done with it because that’s the kind of tribal hatred that the Kunstlers employ?

This entire business is an explosion from the Trump numbers that represent the anger, frustration and the rising of Americans against the multicultural, diverse, Third World takeover and its hatred of a once sound, moral and just City on the Hill – America.

Everywhere these days are the assaults on the white middle class; everywhere you look. Just now I saw a featured book in Costco lauding the power and legitimacy of the vast Comanche Nation and its brave and noble fight against the expansion of the white man.

In the photo section, there’s the dramatic photographic of a scalped white buffalo hunter with this excuse as a cutline:

Scalped buffalo hunter, 1868: The Indians hated buffalo hunters and understood that they, more than the bluecoasted federal soldiers, were destroying their way of life on the plains. This hunter photographed by William Soule near Fort Dodge, met the same fate as hundreds of others like him.” – S.C. Gwynne

Never mind that the Indians themselves were well compensated for the disappearance of the buffalo herds. Gwynne forgets the following to justify the scalping of the "enemy," the white man:

“By the late seventeen hundreds, the Plains Indians were exchanging beaver pelts and horses to the Hudson’s Bay and North West fur traders for European goods. These trade fairs were held at the villages of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara on the Missouri River. The major items exchanged at these trade fairs were garden products (beans, squash, corn, etc.) raised at the Missouri River villages, horses, furs, and hides from the Plains Indians, and whiskey, guns, iron goods, trade beads, and a few beaver traps from the Northeast traders. By the mid-eighteen hundreds of buffalo hides dominated the Indian fur trade. The demise of the large buffalo herds is often blamed on the white man, but Indians contributed a great deal to it as well.” All this according to O. Ned Eddins in Mountain Man Fur Trade Exploration History.

Today, there are twelve Indian reservations that are larger than the state of Rhode Island (776,960 acres; 3,144 km²) and nine reservations larger than Delaware (1,316,480 acres; 5,327 km²).

We haven't been polled yet, and at first we thought, "what a bozo". Then we considered Jeb vs. Hillary, two losers, and decided to go with Trump! He will call it like it is, beholden only to his money and not the oligarchy. He will throw the Mexicans out, and neither other candidate will. More wars...can't tell for sure, he may push the MIC back, as he doesn't need their blood money.

Congress is wholly owned by the bankers and Trump may just be the fresh change we all need. It is too bad that there aren't many others to choose from in a country w 300mil people. Maybe he should select Ron Paul as his VP?
