one where 9/11 happens, Bush II calls in the allies for war in Iraq... but Hollande's "EuroZoner's 19 country full federation" is already there, complete with a eurozone parliament, a eurozone budget and a eurozone Army and Navy (instead of "Juncker's Phantom Army")
then this eurozone parliament votes on following Bush's call to Iraq... and says thanks but no, thanks
would have been better? would have been worse?
would we have enjoyed better jokes from the neo-cons? Freedom Fries and Cheese-Eating Surrendering EuroZoner's Monkeys?
have a look at the list of the countries that did join the famous Coalition_of_the_willing, and note that indeed it would have been very difficult to get a "yes, Mr. Bush" vote
now, what is exactly the reason why some people, countries or alliances are so vilified, here? the threat of invasion from vast armies and navies bearing the €vil sign? or the threat of non-invasion?
(this without even going into an Iraq selling oil for EUR instead of USD, mind you)
interestingly, if we eurozoners would do that, we could even cut our military expenses to half... and by that spend as much as Russia currently does, instead of double that amount. interesting thought, eh?
We need more debate in Europe and less grand plans from burocrats/technocrats.
It would have been nice to initiate an open discussion about whether to move to a a closer union and, if agreement was found, then start getting there step by step. And once the edifice is built, and only then, perhaps move towards monetary union. But, no, the mandarins in Europe decided that it was better to start building the house from the roof...
In my opinion, the time to cheer the Eurozone project, if there ever was one, has definitely passed.
It is time for Europe to dismantle it, take the hit and lick its wounds.
"now, what is exactly the reason why some people, countries or alliances are so vilified, here?"
Really it boils down to we don't like them. The reasons why we don't like them are varied but I think it mainly comes down to a long history of despotism, tyranny, and just general big-daddy-take-care-of-me-because-I'm-helpless-on-my-own statism.
That and they always start shit they can't finish.
I think this look suits him.
now imagine for a moment an alternate history

The USA is ruled by an affirmatively selected moron. The USE will be ruled by a French village idiot.
Sadly, not true. Both ARE ruled by the iron bank.
Or him in a straight-jacket would be just fine.
An identity Crisis he has.
