More importantly, in Indonesia (Where I live) ONLY Indonesian children can attend public schools here as Obama did in Menteng, Central Jakarta. For an Indonesian Father, establishing Indonesian Nationality for a foreign wife and choldren is a simple matter. Not so easy for an Indonesian woman in this male-dominated Muslim socierty.
So Obama PROBABLY became Indonesian AND Muslim (In those days Indonesian Schools were essentially Muslim presincts) during his stay in Indonesia. And, most importantly, Indonesia does NOT recognise dual nationality so, to have become Indonesian, Obama MUST have surrendered his US citizenship. The question is, did he ever get it back again?

I am no Obama fan but your theory is way off. Plenty of expat workers live in Indonesia as Obama's mom apparently did, including me, and have never had to surrender their original citizenship--I still have my American citizenship. A "Kitas" is a work permit residency license not unlike the American Green Card for foreign workers in the USA. Nor do we give up our religion=I still openly attend Christian church here. If you really want to explore Obama's background, you can start with his family's CIA connections which explain why he lived where he lived and was able to get a Connecticut SS#, etc. That and he has no fondness for Muslims at all, as evidenced by the rate he has been droning them in and warring against middle eastern nations that fall within the Amercian arbitrary definition of "enemy combatants"-as opposed to the friendly, humanitarian Saudis, Israelis and Kuwaitis who are inexplicably never targeted by American rhetoric and foreign policy.

I did NOT say that to live in Indonesia it is necessary to become Indonesian. Of course not. What I said was that to attend Indonesian Public Schools one MUST be Indonesian. I'm sure that if you have children they attended JIS (Jakarta International School) NOT an Indonesian Public School. Expats CANNOT send their children to an Indonesian State School.
I stand by my assertion that ONLY Indonesians are able to attend the free Indonesian Public Schools. I also stand by my assertion that an Indonesian MALE can obtian Indonesian citizenship for a foreign wife and children very easily but that it is not so easy for an Indonesian woman to do the same. Therefore, by extension, there is at least a very strong suggestion that Obama became Indonesian so as to attend Indonesian State Schhool.
I also stand by my assertion that Indonesia does NOT permit dual Nationality so Obama's Father either lied or surrendered his US Passport as is required. The Passport would have been surrendered to US Authorities (Probably the US Embassy in Jakarta) NOT to Indonesian Authorities because a Passport is not actually owned by an individual but by the Government that issues it. The State Department would have a record of this but, unfortunately, I don't see the NYT conducting any REAL journalism on this matter?
