Trump Is "The Best Thing To Happen To Politics In A Long Time," Mark Cuban Says

Tyler Durden's picture

Make no mistake, Donald Trump has made an enormous splash in the early days of the race for the GOP Presidential nomination.

Need proof? You could check out the polls...

..or just have a look at the cover of the latest New Yorker...

...or simply tune in to the nightly news where you’re sure to hear the latest sound bite from the incorrigible billionaire, whose main advantage may be that he is simply "gaffe proof", which would explain why a series of statements which would have likely amounted to political suicide for anyone else, have only served to boost his popularity.

In any event, it appears as though Trump can now count on the support of a fellow billionaire because as The Hill reports, Mark Cuban now says "The Donald" is "the best thing to happen to politics in a long time." Here's more from Cuban:

Up until Trump announced his candidacy the conventional wisdom was that you had to be a professional politician in order to run. You had to have a background that was politically scrubbed. In other words, smart people who didn't live perfect lives could never run. Smart people who didn't want their families put under the media spotlight wouldn't run. The Donald is changing all of that. He has changed the game and for that he deserves a lot of credit.

And here's Trump's response:

And just to prove that this is truly a man for whom the traditional rules of politics absolutely do not apply, we'll close with the following two tweets:

I somewhat agree with you, keremetski...

Ron Paul's ideas were and are sound, but, he is no leader.  That rare quality of driving fire is not in his soul.  Such heat can only be procured in the cauldron of suffering.  Only when this country and world begin to truly feel the pangs of physical hardship will such a person appear.  That time is coming.  Be on the lookout and discriminate to your utmost to ascertain the truth in his message when it finally emerges.  When it does - back it with all your resources.  Those ideas and that leader will, of course, not appear from the MSM (i.e. Trump), but as an unstoppable undercurrent with the few independent thinkers surging it forward.  All revolutions are driven by a tiny minority.  Alas, the more recent examples are of the malevolent stripe with usury and biblical tribalism as their motivating factors.  Obviously, these are based in lies, and thus they cannot be sustained.  What we are looking for are the revolutionary ideals based on truth and the indomitable laws of nature.  Once this victory is attained, it will be our responsibility to maintain an everlasting vigilance against those satanic forces which always strive to enslave.

Well said, Johann.  That said, it'll never happen.  Why?  Because this world is populated by humans.  As fucked-up as ZH and other venues like it can be, this is as good as it gets- the majority of these peeps actually think and apply reason.  However, this crowd is in no way shape or form representative of the general public.

I wish I could share your optimism that somehow an organic leader steeped in reality could emerge from amongst us- I just can't envision how it might happen.

Acetinker... it happened once before.  It will happen again.  An agent representing Truth will come to the plate again.  It may seem like two outs in the ninth inning - down by a run with a man on first - but it's not as dire and chancy as that.  Truth is unstoppable.  My outlook is not "optimism"... it's "realism".  What goes up must come down.  What is wrong will be righted.  The frustrating part is the shortness of our lives... we want to see all of this justice occur in our lifetimes.  That - only God can determine.

Forgive me being a dolt, but who or what is it that you say 'happened once before'?

I'm just confused.

I can see your way once society has collapsed into utter dystopia, but by that time a leader's domain would be no bigger than an apartment building.

Once upon a time, in a long-ago century called "20th", there was a wretched and forlorn country called "Germany" which had fought an unprovoked conflict later to be known as World War 1.  During the latter stages of this unfortunate saga, certain traitorous elements within its body brought about its naive surrender to "benevolent" victors which turned out to be disastrous.  When this treason was finally brought to the fore, many within this hapless state began to see the light of truth and a political party emerged which was fearless in its drive to make this truth known.  The man who eventually rose to head this movement also brought with him an outlook on life which - more or less - made obeisance to the laws of nature - whether it be biological or financial.  His "financial" solutions (non-debt-based currency for one) were the reasons for his ultimate downfall.  TPTB of the day roused their slave states to coalesce in the aim of destroying this rebellious entity.  This they accomplished.  As a result, honest money and natural law were not permitted to rule in the prevailing decades.  But of course, like all lies, this state of affairs cannot continue ad infinitum... and the ensuing decay is now both evident and miasmic.

The lesson to be learned from this is not which side is right or wrong, but rather - that the enslaved states of the world must act AS ONE the next time around - to free themselves from the small tyrannical minority which bewitches them with a veneer of invincibility against their illusionary "power of the purse".  Yes... money talks.  But, when weighed against what truly matters in life - it is infinitesimal.  THIS truth is what must be disseminated to the masses.

Gotcha.

Similar events transpired in the US and France in the 19th and 15th centuries, respectively.  No?

I'm not shy, so I will name the leaders of said insurrections.  They are:

Napoleon Bonaparte

Jefferson Davis

Adolf Hitler

Of the three, Mr. Davis is by far the least vilified- so far.  This recent flapdoodle over the battle flag may yet see his image blasted from Stone Mountain.  We'll see.

On the other hand, Napoleon and Hitler are universally reviled in the west.  Were they saints?  Nope.  Were they determined to wrest power from the bankers and put it back into the hands of the governed?  You bet!

Trouble is, by-and-large, the people don't want freedom because it entails responsibility.  As Sam Adams said, they "prefer the relative tranquility of servitude to the animating contest of freedom".

It all boils down to this-

"The issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the people versus the banks." - Lord John Dahlberg-Acton

In the meantime, peace!  No, really!  I mean it!

He supports government theft in the form of eminent domain for his parking lits, he supports bans on assualt riffles, he likes government healthcare (and wants to REPLACE obamacare with trumpcare), he is a friend and long time supporter of clinton.

"anarchic, homicidal vengeance"

Grokking your contradiction....

Homocide is what the various Governments (archys) have done for thousands years. Anarchy is simply the lack of archy (government). Think of it as rules, without rulers. The rulers are the first ones to break the rules. Once they get away with it, they become repeat offenders.

What you really mean is Totalitarian, homocidal vengeance....which gets us no closer to the correct path...that of anarchy, and voluntary associations.

Or did I miss the sarcasm?

Ron Paul had the EXACT knowledge, insight, and wisdom about what was needed, but unfortunately, given what he should've known about the government enforced ignorance of the American voter, his terrible presentation and communication skills destroyed his chances and allow our country to be set back another 10 years. God bless Ron Paul for knowing and doing what was right and inspiring those who think for themselves but as we know, most DO NOT THINK!

What Trump just did is nothing short of a political meteor striking America and relegating the political powers that be to instant extinction. This event is incredibly historic in the way it has completely short circuited the propaganda stream that inundates us daily. He has tapped into a rage the silent majority has at being "handled" by globalists and their lap dog press.  Listening to Fox news this morning on the way to work, they could not talk about anything else but this man and spent the entire time attempting to hang something unpleasant on him. The irony of the whole frigging situation is they are completely clueless that a large portion of the rage against the powers that be is directed at them.  They are such nitwits they can't even comprehend how out of touch they truly are.

He (trump that is) wants more gun control. He also meets the true definition of a fascist. He has pretty words though that are attractive to the masses. Really, he's the American lite version of Adolf Hitler. Like I said though, there will be another one in the near future, with far more attractive rhetoric, and he/she will be far more more dangerous.

"Do not put your trust in princes" - The bible or some shit, though a very wise quote.

"Be the change you want to see in the world" - Ghandi

In other words, start building a parallel system, stop giving DC any attention. Cut them off, ignore them and they'll become irrelevant. Build a parallel society based on peace and cooperation and we will be a far better people in the end. This system CANNOT be fixed top-down, only bottom-up.

I don't think Trump is a false flag like many claim.  The media is busy trying to destroy him.  Yesterday the claims that he assulted his ex-wife Ivana back in the late 80's.  Today WGN News had the commissioner of border security on live.  They led with Trumps comments about Mexicans being "rapists" and then let the commish dispel those claims, leaving one to believe all is fine along the border (he even said crime in border cities is low).  Why would the media bring the assult story and go out of their way to lie about border security if they are not afraid of him?  I have no idea where Trump goes with all of this, but I don't think he's planted by Hill the Schill.

I've started to wonder if he could be a false flag "double agent".  Maybe the oligarchy has measured a rising sentiment of disgust and a desire to repudiate the candidates they choose for us.  So they slip in an unexpected character that is a breath of fresh air,  giving voice to those who feel their government ignores them, or worse, is actively working against them.  The powers in the shadows know that media attacks will increase his popularity with the disaffected, and draw more in to further fuel the movement.  Then when they feel it is time,  the media will finally drop the mother of all bombs or he will intentionally destroy his own candidacy.  Trump's followers will be left disillusioned and drained.  Much like a controlled back fire burns out dry tinder before it can become part of a real conflagration, maybe they're trying to bring out the anger and discontent thinking they can squash it and leave despair and acceptance in its place.

Two things. The U.S. Has $18trillion in debt and we are adding nearly $1 t in new debt each year. If interest rates increase the debt accelerates. Secondly, the country is terribly divided. Trump, Clinton or whoever can not solve the debt issue fast enough without further division of the American public. The dollar is on its last leg which compounds the problems. Sorry but the emotional rah rah for "the Donald" is typical root for a happy ending (think Hollywood). Reality is that our trajectory will not end without significant pain.

Clipped this... perfect synopsis of the Donald

Mr. Trump! Mr. Trump!

1. You’ve said that in the early 1990s, when your companies first filed for bankruptcy, you owed the banks more than $9 billion. But today you only have tangible net assets somewhere between $4 billion and $7 billion. What happened to the rest of the money?

2. Since the early 1990s anyone who’d invested in the Dow Jones index of U.S. Real Estate Investment Trusts would have made 12 times their money. So if the banks had invested that $9 billion in a random basket of other U.S. real estate companies instead of yours, they’d have more than $100 billion today. How much did they actually get?

3. When you took your company public in the mid-1990s, stockholders ended up losing about 90 cents on the dollar. Over the same period the rest of the stock market doubled. Are you planning to do for America what you did for your investors?

4. In your 2007 book “Think Big and Kick Ass,” you praised Hillary Clinton to the heights as a “very good person,” “a fantastic person,” and someone who “has the ability to think big.” If that’s the case, why are you running for president now? And if you were wrong then, after knowing the senator for more than a decade, what does that say about your judgment?

5. If you’re elected president, would it be O.K. for young Americans to default on their $1 trillion in federal student loans, as your companies defaulted on their debts? If not, why not?

6. One U.S. homeowner in six is still in negative equity, meaning their mortgage is actually bigger than the value of their home. If you’re elected president, shouldn’t they just walk away and send the bank the keys, just as your property companies did? If not, why not?

7. Four years ago when gold was nearly $2,000 an ounce you started accepting it for rental payments because you said President Barack Obama was destroying the U.S. dollar. DXY, +0.14%  Since then gold has halved and the dollar is up by a third against the world’s other major currencies. Do you have any more hot tips?

Fuck'n A, Flakmeister.

Donald Trump has always been nothing but a worthless excuse for a human being and he'll always be a worthless excuse for a human being.

Other than that, the only talent Donald Trump actually possesses is Self-Aggrandizement - A pattern of pompous behavior, boasting, narcissism or competitiveness designed to create an appearance of superiority,

...when the reality is he's just a fat little loudmouth WIMP.
