Bloomberg's Consumer Comfort index plunged (by the most since Sept 2014) to hover at 18 month lows...
As 70% of Americans see the state of the economy as negative.
Rather amusingly an intriguing 1% of Americans see the state of the economy as 'excellent' - wonder which 1% that is...

I'm actually not sure which group that 1% is. Many in the 1% who have benefited from recent printing have done very well, but are also acutely aware of the false nature of the current economy. I don't think, honestly, they're saying this is good. I actually think the 1% who say the economy is excellent are new immigrants who still hold on to the dream of what they believe America is, and are comparing it to the places they just left. Until they've been here long enough to understand the game, they still believe the myth, and all our "troubles" seem to them trivial compared to their personal history. Without a basis for comparison, they don't yet recognize the danger we all face. Just a thought...

I must say I am not responsible for any drop in the consumer comfort index, as my consumption comfort level could not get any lower than it has been for 15 years straight.
I think this is just a measure of Michael Bloomberg's level of comfort; actually I'm surprised that he's feeling this low.
I thought consumer confidence level is only used for short squeezing stock market.. It meant nothing else.

All of these different idices and charts are as laughable as the markets. Shit "soars" one month followed by "collapse" the next, but nothing really changes to cause the volatility. Does "hope" really come and fade as frequently as these indices would have us believe? Suppose it's possible; people are fucking crazy.
