"No Brainer" AAPL Enters Correction, Down 12% From Recent Highs To 6-Month Lows
Having broken its 200DMA earlier this morning, selling pressure has continued in the "as goes AAPL, so goes the US economy market" stock. Now down almost 12% from earnings exuberance, AAPL is in correction territory and is trading at six-month lows...

Apple's expensive phones are priced just right for a depression in this world.
Apple may fall to $100 even as Icahn keeps tweeting how cheap it is.
OH NOOOOOOOOOO MISTER BILL!!!!
LOOKS LIKE SLUGGO'S HEAD AND SHOULDERS TO ME!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FomyFUxx2fU
With the i200 DMA now iToast, does this mean that the i$100 mark is far off?
iFucking can't wait to watch iCNBS' reaction to this iShit.
ASUS Zenfone2 - Hey Apple fanboy, it has more computing power than my laptop and three times faster..and the price....
oh boy are you on a hiding to nothing
No jobs = no customers = no consumer spending
Only government spending and taxes
How can any CEO invest capital into the US?
And the rest of the world is shit because of currency manipulation.
This game is over.
game over for who?
most, but certainly not all... long live the high born.
The Jews in Germany thought that way in the 1920's.
Be careful of high places.
You might fall.
good thing im short on capital and prestige.
Bring on the fall.
Nothing to see here Folks, Move Along.
Just a few more iWatches and everything will be fine....right?
According to the fanboys, guys will get the iwatch because they're too lazy to take the phone out of their pockets. The women will be wearing those ugly plastic watches because they don't want to dig into their purses to see who's calling or texting them. It's not like women ever cared about fashion and style. They won't mind wearing a watch that looks like it came out of a Crackerjax box.
How long befor those funny named chinese phones take over the North American markets?
iCrash Applegate.
ZH is totally irrational when it comes to Apple.
What's the over/under on how long before Apple makes up this loss?
The thing is, on the actual hardware software side of things, apple is still doing it better than anyone, even samsung, which has cool phones but far glitchier {no need to take my word for it - but do try to venture into a tech site now and then}.
I like samsung and htc too, but not sure why the Tylers have such a hard on against an American {meh, more or less} company that continues to innovate and actually make shit.
Not all of us can make our living trading around other people's money and ideas.
some of us have to actually design and make things, you know.
now - junk away, little bitches. Daddy's doing some buying....
Government spending IS a bailout.
Government subsidies, or spending, isn't sustainable.
To use UN terminology.
As is often the case, Chuck, I don't disagree with ye.
I agree with most of this. But from my perspective Apple has failed to innovate. They essentially offer 1 product in a few different packages and sizes.
apple makes nice products i agree.
But apple is king when it comes to exclusion. Hardware which you cant replace faulty parts, accessories that are unique to only apple and change seemingly every release. The software is increasingly more locked down from un-approved development. Your friend makes a cool app? Too bad cant use it unless its apple approved or you jailbreak (bye bye warranty). I made the mistake of using itunes in college. Now half my music is converted to a file-format that is apple-exclusive. Of course there are ways around this... but may I make a suggestion?
Support open source. Linux has had great desktop enviornment support- Ubuntu. They have tablets and phones now. And they want you to tinker, to crowd-source solutions and innovation. Dont wait around for a creatively-suppressed, corporatized developers to make your products.
true, but its hard to argue with success. evne when apple was down 9% it was ..well..
"In the past year, Apple shares are still up 25 percent compared with a return of 11 percent for the S&P technology sector. "

I'm really just arguing software and to a lesser extent hardware in the smartphone and related device arena.
They make good shit, still, even relative to peers.
"Jailbreaking" I agree - should be easier. it may seem easy to many here, but its pretty complicated to the average bear.
But you know what - not having to worry about malaware is pretty nice.
Heer you on Linux - I think apple could make it easier to leave their nest... but you have to remmeber, a lot of people just want safe, stable, plug and play.
itunes syncing sucked for a long time and could stil lbe better, but converting music files isnt any sort of problem. Pretty sure most, now, android phones, for example, will auto convert - I had the same problem.
I never liked itunes much myself, liked android drag and drop a lot more. Still - I do like itunes U.
And on my samsung - the amount of google-related processes that run is absurd. I don't want to use google play -for anything - half of it is spyware, most totally unnecessary, and while I can disable some, other shit that does *me* no good has to run.
yep yep. It will be interesting to see if they are able to increase global market share. Forbes says only 7.9% and 90% for Windows.
And for the record, i really do hate windows too. Especially windows 10 with developers saying its the most invasive OS ever.
u missed the point.
APPL does not create manufacture and sell products.
APPL creates and sells life style.
To look at this company, like another Caterpilar or GM, is a mistake. They have nothing to do with technology, they have to do with profiling of the human market, profiling the right audienc at the right point in time.
I talk about APPL in the today's shape. some time ago, 30 years ago, Jobs, Wozniak... created products, HW and SW. They do a minimum today. Not worth to talk about it.
Agreed - ZH is right about a lot of things but they are wrong about AAPL. I think it has more to do with hating on 'fanbois' (a good thing), than actually taking a sober look at the firm.
We know where Apple has been but where is it going? They are still a one trick pony. The iWatch is a failure, any way you spin it. As more smartphones flood out of Asia, more people will wonder why they're spending $1000 on a new phone every 2 years instead of $200. Apple might have the trendies and wealthy clients locked up, but if they lose the mainstream, they are doomed.
I replaced by iphone with a Samsung a few years ago and haven't regretted it one bit. I had more problems with the iphone
Samsung is getting killed in the marketplace - galaxy s6 was a disaster. Their profitability in phones as plunged over the last 3 years while apple is capturing more share, not less.
Those chinese mfg's you speak of that undercut on price - that's samsungs problem - not apple. In terms of economic subsitution, sony/samsung/lg are getting killed by xiaomi. Apple has a semi-defensible position. If they gave up a few points of margin in the future, their share would only increase. Think of them as the opposite amzn.
I don't know where you get your info from, but you're wrong. From IDC:
Apple market share in 1Q2012 was 22.9%. In 1Q2015 it is 18.3%
Samsung 1Q 2012 was 28.9%. In 1Q2015 it is 24.6%

Apple has lost more market share in the past three years.
Samsung Galaxy S6 has helped boost the market share of Android in the US during three months period ending in May, says Kantar Worldpanel ComTech research firm in its latest smartphone sales report for the quarter ended in May, and published on Tuesday. Additionally, the report has claimed that LG nearly doubled its share in the US smartphone market year-over-year.
The report finds that Android OS market share in the US rose by 2.8 percent points to 64.9 percent in the three months ending in May. Kantar claimed that the sales of theSamsung Galaxy S6 smartphone helped the company to make up for its lost ground.
(Also see: iPhone Overtakes Android in US for the First Time Since 2012: Report)
Kantar's Carolina Milanesi, Chief of Research at Kantar Worldpanel ComTech said, "The first full month of sales of the Galaxy S6 allowed Samsung to regain the market lead in the US and grow its share of Android sales from 52 percent in the three months ending in April to 55 percent for the three months ending in May."
The report added that Samsung's share of the US smartphone market grew quarter-over-quarter, and the Samsung Galaxy S6 became the third bestselling smartphone in the US after the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5. Milanesi adds that Samsung's year-over-year performance also improved, saying the firm's US market share was now "down only 0.5 percentage point compared to 1.6 percentage points in the three months ending in April."

Profit share not market share is what I was referring to:
http://www.wsj.com/articles/apples-share-of-smartphone-industrys-profits...
Android mfgs are flooding the market with units @ no margin whereas AAPL has gained in the profit pie YoY.

Paging swiss national bank too !!
Another 50% down and it will start to look attractive.
< rip off

$850 for an iPhone6+ ?
The 6+ is $1050
I looked at phones Saturday - same deal is online at the ATT store
iPhone 6+
16 GB - $749.99
64 GB -$849.99 - the one I was considering.
128 GB - $949.99
This is with no contract - so no strings attached.
wow, a 48gb storage upgrade for only $100 more! 64gb micro-SD cards are less than $20 now, too bad iphones (and sadly, a few others) can't use them.
The SD card + no way to change batteries is why my last phone was a Samsung - the new Samsung phone is sealed -
So you can't upgrade memory of replace a bad battery.
If you can't beat them join them.
down what percent, now?

I should have made a bet with JR {this may well go back down below -2% and all today, but it will regain within a few days, if not sooner}
I didnt understand the apple watch. not at its current price and requiring you to have a running iphone on you to do most shit.
let's see if they can get the price down to near cost and rely on ins tore purchases etc.
Nobody calls it an apple watch so just get over that marketing vomit and and call it what it is, an iwatch.
Kind of like how ipad3 was the "new ipad", until ipad4 came out six months later.
They keep trying to shove that iWatch down our throats.
From what I've seen the average aMERDEican would prostitute themselves to have the latest Iphone (and related services) - it seems - for now anyways - that Apple has a certain price inelasticity due their cashe' with the sheepeoples.
i have seen one dude wearing an Iwatch and he looked like a tradesman. Itv sounds like another wind chaser.
They have definitely lost the i mojo since this turdpush took over.
Apple will go the way of NOKIA, let it be known I said this on 8.3.2015
Recent flops: Apple Watch, Apple Pay. Semi Flop: Beats or whatever that service is called.
Reason: It never works out well when you have a faggot running a huge multi national company.
That being said I will admit I use Mac computers as MS is even more pathetic with their gaping, NSA mandated backdoors, spy and malware.
Nope.
google has tried and failed several times - doesnt make em a bad company.
I'm uneasy about the watch myself at this price point.... and so dependent on an iphone. they need to make it cheaper, more independently functional, or both.
Now then - off to listen to music in my Beats by Dre headphones.
you can really hear the bass....
Ironic really, cause of all the stocks in the S&P500 its one of the few that are reasonably priced. At least they a) make something, b) make money, c) have a decent balance sheet, as opposed to many of the others that fall short on a), b) and c) !!
I dropped and cracked my iphone6 screen today. Does that help?
Why someone will pay more than $100 for an Apple share is beyond me. Being making that call since 2009. May go there now.
Rim shot needed! Research in motion 2.0 Icrash unlike Blackberry which has a couple of billion in patents Itheft from Ixerox Imsftwatch iunix and any other Istolentech... good riddance so Iwon't Ipay IHuawei for Ihalfprice..
It's still unshortable because it's still way too popular within the 0.1% & still has enough cash and assets to borrow another 20-50 billion @ 2% or whatever for moooaaar buy-backs. The management team will probably pump it up to $500/sh+ with buybacks before it inevitably goes Full Sony, Full Radio Shack, Full A123, Full Enron, etc. BTFD, Bitches.
