President Obama Explains How His "Clean Power Plan" Does Not Make Him "Nation's Greatest Destroyer" - Live Feed

Tyler Durden's picture

Ironically on the day when another coal company collapses into bankruptcy, President Obama begins the pitch for his "Clean Power Plan" which Murray Energy CEO Robert Murray described as "biazrre", blames for the collapse in the coal industry, and has now filed five federal lawsuits against the president who Murray believes is "the nation's greatest destroyer."

Live Feed.. (due to speak at 1415ET)

As we previously noted, The President, you see, is on a "bizarre personal and political" quest to destroy not only the coal industry, but the entire country and according to Murray, "radical environmentalists, liberal elitists, [and] Hollywood characters" aren’t doing anything to help the situation.

And make no mistake, this isn’t about money for Murray, this is all about the people. "Mr. Obama's actions are a human issue to me, as I know the names of many of the Americans whose jobs and family livelihoods are being destroyed," Murray said, adding that "these Americans are my employees."

Or at least they were his employees. Murray laid off 21% of his company back in May, with the majority of the cuts coming in West Virginia, which is staring down a $195 million budget gap thanks to the slide in coal prices.

Murray believes these job cuts are the fault of the Obama administration and, thankfully, he’s got some concrete arguments to support his contention that the President is colluding with Hollywood characters and certain "contributors" in an effort to "get control of the availability, reliability and cost of electricity."

from SNL:

[Murray] said President Barack Obama's administration has issued regulations that illegally bypass the states and their utility commissions, the U.S. Congress and the Constitution in favor of putting the U.S. EPA in charge of the nation's electric grid. Murray, speaking at a Republican gathering at the July 22 Lincoln Day Dinner, touted his company's four lawsuits being brought against the administration's Clean Power Plan, an effort to rein in carbon dioxide emissions.

Murray continued, saying that the coal workers affected by Obama's policies are among the highest paid in the regions where they live, but also have no one to sell their homes to when they lose their jobs.

"Thus, these people are prohibited from working and fall to the negative side of the economic ledger for the rest of their lives," Murray said. "This is not the America that I have always cherished. Well, I am obviously not giving up. Nor should you. We have the law, science, economics, cold hard energy facts and the Constitution on our side. Our cause is right. It is right for the coal industry and our communities and America. … We must continue to do whatever we can to overcome the insanity of our current government."

Murray goes on to say that the scope of EPA guidelines on coal boarders on the absurd. In support of this contention, he cites the fact that the agency's regulations are 38 times longer than the universally accepted standard for modern enviornmental law - the Bible: "EPA regulations alone total 25 million words, 38 times more than those in the holy Bible."

Watching these stupid dinosaurs face extinction is wonderfully entertaining. In Mr. Murrays view is the EPA & Obama also responsible for the coal industry massacre in Australia? Is Obama & EPA also responsible for Murrays abysmal acquisitions?

Murray continued, saying that the coal workers affected by Obama's policies are among the highest paid in the regions where they live, but also have no one to sell their homes to when they lose their jobs.

What an utterly false, arrogant, stupid, short-sighted, tunnel-vision comment by our Liar-in-Chief! Every coal operation he bankrupts not only transfers American jobs overseas, but also significantly increases worldwide pollution. This Administration has done more to damage the world's environment than any other. Only an idiot would not recognize that every manufacturing, agriculture, mining, green energy, etc job that is transferred to a 3rd world country with lower  pollution standards not only hurts the middle and lower income classes and overall economy in the U.S., but increases the amount of pollution released into the environment compared to producing that same item in America. For example, by the time a "green" car rolls off the production lines, the pollution deficit generated from the mining of raw matrials to producing all the components is so much greater than a traditional car that it is not likely to be made up during the driving life of the car. The "Green" industry is primarily about 2 things. 1st, it is a method of extracting taxes and transferring wealth from the sheeple to a bunch of wealthy hypocrites who do not practice what they preach. And 2nd, it is about using a lot of traditional "dirty" energy to produce a lesser amount of "green" energy. Why do you think that so many oil billionaires support green energy? They recognize what a windfall and boom it is for their oil industry.

And don't even get me started on the massive increase in glyphosphate and Bt ladden foods that have hit the grocery stores during this Administration, guaranteed to ever increase health problems and provide an endlessly increasing supply of custimers for Big Pharma and the Healthcare industry.

The price of oil has nothing to do with the market.  This is punishment from the cartel for opening the doors to Iran nuclear power with the added bonus of bankrupting US energy companies to eliminate competition (which was low fruit to grab at tbh), along with the economy destroying actions of central banks.  Things will swing back again, since this is not a linear world.

As for demanding, if it is via government decree that would be a hell yes.  Let people decide on thier own what is best for them.

Hillary Clinton Backs Obama's Climate Change Plan, But Environmentalists Frustrated

Democratic White House hopeful Hillary Clinton said Sunday she'll uphold the Obama administration's key climate change policies if elected and defend them against Republican-led opposition. The former U.S. secretary of state was the first 2016 presidential candidate to respond to President Barack Obama's Clean Power Plan, which could be announced as soon as Monday.

The plan is "a significant step forward in meeting the urgent threat of climate change," Clinton said in a Sunday statement cited by the Washington Post.

Obama May Finally Succeed!

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2015/08/03/obama-may-finally-succeed/

For this post I’ve taken as my departure point a couple of very interesting graphs from over at Not A Lot Of People Know That. I’ll repeat them here:

...And given that President Obama famously predicted that under his energy plan electricity prices would necessarily “skyrocket” … it looks like he finally might actually succeed at something.

Since this is being done illegally or at least highly improperly by means of Obama’s Imperial Presidential Fiat, there seems to be little we can do about it except to let your friends and neighbors know that thanks to Obama and the Democratic Party, their electric bill is indeed about to skyrocket … otherwise, Obama is likely to blame it all on President Bush.

On March 1, 2013, President Obama ordered into effect the across-the-board spending cuts (commonly referred to as sequestration) required by the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act, as amended. Under the order, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) must cut its current budget by more than $30 million, 5 percent of the current 2013 appropriation, by September 30, 2013. In order to help achieve these savings and protect core programs, the BLS will eliminate two programs, including Mass Layoff Statistics, and all "measuring green jobs" products. The final release of Mass Layoffs Statistics data will be the publication of the May 2013 data.

Special Report: State Department watered down human trafficking report

http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/08/03/us-usa-humantrafficking-disput...

In the weeks leading up to a critical annual U.S. report on human trafficking that publicly shames the world’s worst offenders, human rights experts at the State Department concluded that trafficking conditions hadn’t improved in Malaysia and Cuba. And in China, they found, things had grown worse.

The State Department’s senior political staff saw it differently — and they prevailed.

A Reuters examination, based on interviews with more than a dozen sources in Washington and foreign capitals, shows that the government office set up to independently grade global efforts to fight human trafficking was repeatedly overruled by senior American diplomats and pressured into inflating assessments of 14 strategically important countries in this year’s Trafficking in Persons report.

In all, analysts in the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons - or J/TIP, as it’s known within the U.S. government — disagreed with U.S. diplomatic bureaus on ratings for 17 countries, the sources said.

The change in the inflation adjust median income also tells a very different story..

The labor participation rate as well seems to indicate something other than a doubling of 'the economy'..

In 2007/08 a colleague told me that he thought Obama hated America and would work to ruin it.  I understood the Bamster's character, but thought that his thoughts were a bit extreme.

I no longer think this, it is clear Bam is punishing America for what he sees as colonial malfeasance.  To deny this is to deny the reality before our eyes, the Bamster is the worst President at a most important time.

no possibility of liberal airhead utterances for the next century or so.

Unfortunately the opposition to the Bamster has abrogated its responsibility.  It is really difficult to make the argument that the country will make any significant change in its leadership once Bam is gone.  The die is cast, we will fade away.  Let's hope not too many get hurt along the way.

It really became apparent right away when Bam started implementing all these economic policies like the bailout of GM and the stimulus.  I then quickly realized my worst fears.

Note that I fully expected that it would be bad, most liberal Presidents are, but I did not expect that he would viciously go after the core of the country like he has done (ACA, immigration, law enforcement, racism, coal, regulation, etc).

From what I've seen, I see no reason that putting a concerted effort into combination wind and solar powers wouldn't handle the majority of the problem - especially as solar rapidly becomes more efficient and more inexpensive. If existing energy dynasties didn't have their claws so deep in the entire system that might be more possible.

(I don't mean to endorse Obama or this plan by my position - simply arguing that destroying an industry isn't inherently bad. I believe our inflexibility in the face of rapid progress is infinitely more problematic)

I worked in solar for years.  It's a complete scam.  You can make a scam out of anything, as long as you oversell benefits that never materialize.  Without subsidies, the payback is atrocious.  Solar panels are only about 15% efficient... And those are the GOOD ones.  At that efficiency, there's NO WAY we can afford to make a noticeable dent in our energy consumption.  Wouldn't it be better to wait for the technology to become more efficient and cheaper (like every other technological innovation) before we decide to spend a ton of money on it?  Unless, of course, you want to take Germany's route.  All of the environmentalists want us to emulate their program, but they're having severe sticker shock... Their electric bills are now 5x higher.  Do you want to pay 5x more than you're already paying?  I sure don't.  Do you think it would help our economy to pay 5x more for the exact same product?  When solar is EFFICIENT and CHEAP, then we can talk about phasing out coal (we won't have to... Everyone will be buying it without the government's help).  What you're suggesting is as absurd as banning 1080p TVs, simply because a better, but much more expensive, pixel rate has just been introduced.

They are smashing and grabbing bitchez.  Coal is the most abundant fuel left and they want control of it.  The shale ponzi's debt load is incredible and this is taking place with "clean" fracked NG not being subjected to the clean water act.  One of the benefits of the shale ponzi is that it supresses the price of coal.  Once the banks get control of Peabody and other mining operations in Wy you know that the fix is in.

Don't be surprised if down the road coal becomes "clean" again once it's captured and super expensive.  Expect the gov to continue to convert fleets to NG also.  It's going to get really interesting when the NG decline rates kick and the coal mines are shuttered down the road.

There sure is an awful lot of conflict where all of the sizeable petroleum resources remain.

It's not so much that I disagree with the right wingers posing as libertarians when it comes to Obama as much as I marvel at the fact they don't seem to appreciate that the man is a puppet of the people who installed him, after years of grooming, into the presidency.

His first Chief of Staff was Rahm Emanuel, advisors were Axelrod and Sunstein.

The "secret Muslim" shit was classic Sunstein - villify Islam, take your eyes off the Zionist Power Configuration that not only was all around Obama the candidate, but explains why Obama has appointed a wildly disproportionate amount of Jews to Treasury, State, etc. etc etc.

But even here we see people regurgitating the idea he's a secret muslim, valerie jarret, and other Faux News/Drudge talking points that are precisely inane distractors.

Obama like most intelligent people is a agnostic or atheist, and/or perhaps vaguely spiritual now and then. He may have some socialist tendencies - who gives a fuck. Imagine you are a mobster who controls, say a union racket. You gross $2mil. an year, and net $1mil. after payoffs, etc. You would probably be very protective of this "asset." You would prevent threats to it, try to manage your plunder of it so as to keep it going as long as possible. This would be the milking stage of plunder.

Now sometime later, the union racket is getting rough. The workers have begun to see that the union really destroys opportunities, and much of production has moved elsewhere. As a result, you are seeing a decline in the take from the union. Now begins the pillage stage of plunder. You no longer have to concern yourself with maintaining the organization you are plundering, but only in taking all you can from it before it goes tits up.

Eventually the take form the racket will get so low that you will abandon it, but not before taking actions that will assure that it will not later serve someone else. This is the scorched-earth phase of plunder.

Zion is in the tail end of phase two, pillage, of their plundering of the American country and people. If one looks back through CIA-Obama's regime, one will see ostensibly "stupid" moves like this energy thing, and his clamp down on coal. However, it is never about stupidity, but always "money, power and division." CIA-Obama is a controlled tool of Zion--So what is Zion doing? Zion is moving into the scorched-earth phase of plunder as they move back on over to Europe.

Zion is now oriented to taking everything and the kitchen sink from the American country, while also desiring to not leave much of use for foreign later interlopers come to collect on their dollar holdings and/or enact revenge. One sees this in many things. The F-35 fighter program is a clear indicator of this. The gutting of the DC US military is as well. The purges of the DC US' strategic arms (The nukes) command is also troubling.

One caveat: Zion is trying to maintain access to the American energy patch and bread basket in the "heartland." This is indicated by their shoring up of Texas and Colorado within the regime. As the DC US breaks up into about 5 pieces in the future, Zion wishes to maintain a grip on the "heartland" for themselves, while warding off the Chinese, by controlling the resulting Texas republic that will extend through "heartland."

My point: Don't just observe the apples on the ground, but the apples in the tree as well.

Liberty is a demand. Tyranny is submission..

We, the American people, can look to one more grand false-flag involving Iran, and another one of Zion's wars taking our children overseas to rob or die for Zion. This will move Zion closer to "Greater Israel," and leave the DC US military completely depleted, and no threat to Zion in Europe.

So we get rid of all the CO2 in the atmosphere and now all the trees and vegetation will suffocate and die.

"Fuck you, tree huggers.

Here I come

Here I am

Look at me

Well, no.  They will get rid of zero CO2 in the atmosphere. But they will: get the carbon taxes so high that we'll all suffocate from them.  That is what the big plan is.

I pray for his destruction every day.

He isn't human.

It will be wonderful when all of our utility bills go up by 300%.   Im looking forward to that.   we can burn that extra furniture in the guest bedroom, when we run out of money for heating oil.   And that love seat in the living room, nobody hardly ever uses that, I'll get the saw out and cut it into pieces that fit in the fireplace.   Life is good, and will be  better.   Thank God for forward thinking politicans!   (not)

Relax reddgreen, Obama will give you a tax credit on the solar panel installation, and probably will let you add the monthly payment  to your mortgage payment.  What could go wrong.  If you're 26 years old you'll see payback starting when you retire.
