Dramatic Footage Of Saudi Tanks Invading Yemen
There are competing accounts as to exactly what happened at the Al Anad airbase in Yemen on Monday, where Saudi-backed forces loyal to President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi reportedly routed Houthi rebels, marking the latest in a series of setbacks for the Iran-backed group which forced Hadi to flee to Riyadh earlier this year, plunging Yemen into a bloody civil war.
According to the Houthis, coalition forces were "crushed" and their vehicles destroyed, but a spokesman for the Popular Resistance said most of the base was in coalition hands. Here’s WSJ:
Forces fighting for a Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen have defeated the country’s Houthi rebels at a strategic southern air base, the Yemeni defense ministry said Tuesday.
The Houthis denied that the base had fallen. However, if it has been captured this would extend a recent turning of the tide in favor of the coalition in the four-month-old conflict.
The defense ministry said the operation at Al Anad, a large complex from which the U.S. had launched drone attacks against Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula before the recent instability, was "a true representation of national will and noble sacrifices that are being made to liberate Yemen from the grip of overthrowing militias."
A report Tuesday by the Houthi-run Saba news agency denied that Al Anad base had been taken, citing an unnamed military official. The Houthis had “crushed all [coalition] offensives” against the base and destroyed scores of military vehicles, Houthi spokesman Nasruddin Amer said Monday evening.
If confirmed, the turn of fortunes in favor of the coalition at Al Anad build upon a string of recent gains in the south by the allies, which include Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E., Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt and a number of other Arab states.
Houthi rebels have been driven from Aden in recent weeks, setting the stage for coalition forces to make a further push northward into other Houthi-controlled areas.
Here's footage of the actual battle courtesy of RT:
And here's footage of Saudi tanks pushing north as the coalition offensive gathers steam:

Importantly, Saudi and coalition boots are now officially on the ground in Yemen, under the guise of tank trainers. Here's The Washington Post:
Saudi and Emirati troops are assisting Yemeni pro-government forces at al-Anad by operating many of the tanks and sophisticated military equipment, military officials said.
A Yemeni military official said thus far, few Yemeni troops have been trained in operating the tanks that have arrived by sea from Gulf allies in recent weeks. He added that the Yemeni military sought help from coalition countries in the al-Anad operation, calling them "partners in the liberation operation of Aden and other provinces."
Obviously, that seems like a rather transparent way of saying that the recent "turning of the tide" in Yemen may indeed be attributable to the fact that the Houthis are now fighting an open war with the Saudi army which turns out to be quite a bit more challenging than urban warfare in the backalleys of Aden with poorly trained Hadi holdouts.
In any event, we suppose the real question is whether Iran is willing to stand by and watch as the Houthis are dismantled by Saudi Arabia, or whether Tehran decides it's time to provide more than just "logistical support", at which point Yemen's proxy "conflict" will officially morph into a regional sectarian war.

Quite convenient how Western media has forgotten about this illegal invasion by Saudi Arabia - the free and fair press of the West doing its job.
The Saudis are the Number 1 state sponsor of Terrorism of the Middle eastern countries.
Here is a partial list of Saudi Arabia's crimes in Yemen:
At least 3,500 have been killed as a result of the Saudi-led war, launched on March 26 of this year. Some 1,700 of these have been confirmed as civilians, according to the UN, with some 3,800 more civilians confirmed wounded.
Nearly 80 percent of the Yemeni population faces conditions of starvation, near starvation, and/or lack of reliable access to drinking water.
More than 1.2 million Yemenis have been forced to flee their homes by the war. At least 50,000 of the displaced have fled the country entirely, seeking refuge in neighboring countries of Oman, Djibouti, Somalia and Sudan.
Responsibility for the bloodshed and humanitarian disaster in Yemen lies squarely with Saudi Arabia, the other Gulf monarchies and their backers in Washington. While technically headed by the Saudi monarchy, the military onslaught against Yemen is a direct outgrowth of US imperial policy in the Middle East.

Did some Euro news just come out ? EURUSD just dropped off a cliff out of nowhere......
Very true. I see the chart. What happened?
Wake me up when we see moves closer to late Feb. This is a nothingburger.
the bullard bomb
reason in the next zh article.
These Shieks of Mecca need to listen to Farakhan and the Koran about downtrodden people's (Yemeni) rights to kill their oppressor overlords (Saudis)
Here we go (again)! Just wait when 'our' government pushes us to another war/conflict. Rand has vowed to ask the candidates whether they want to always intervene in every civil war around the world.
A new era of proxy wars.
The would-be "soldiers" in these videos seem like a disorganized, butt-scratching rabble. It seems to be the same in Iraq and everywhere else. The puppeteers don't seem particularly interested in deploying a genuinely trained, organized force that would engage a specific set of targets cleanly and decisively as part of a politically legitimate mission, sanctioned by the local electorate. Instead, their mission is apparently to hand out firepower indiscriminately and encourage the puppets to wander around, firing in the general direction of mystery targets and filming YouTube videos: senseless chaos. I remember the same thing when I worked for a psychopath years ago. He gave orders to do things that seemed nonsensical to the rational managers and staff, who didn't understand that the purpose was to PREVENT order, to PERPETUATE chaos. (The organization was ruined.)
Enough of this "training" and other bullshit. It's time to bring the "trainers" back and grapple with real problems at home. You'd think more soldiers would wise up.
yersss. Next we'll hear about US aircraft firing 'Training missiles' to teach their targets
and again, yes. Choas itself is the plan. America thinks if nation states disintergrate, it can extract the resources without opposition.
Fucking idiots dont understand the linear interconnectiveness of energy infrastructure means their supplies can never be safeguarded throughimperial conquest.
Houthis should have asked Iran how the US looks upon nations who toss out our installed puppets.
Freedom ain't free dammit, now get back in there and pump more of our oil Goddammit!
pods
I wonder who the hell Saudi Arabia found to send to Yemen to train tankers. Most of the armor in Saudi Arabia had Yemeni crews (but Saudi commanders).
In any case, Yemen is packed to the gills with Iranian ATGMs. I would not want to be in any of those Saudi tanks (while they still exist) in Yemen.
The strategy is laughable anyway. The Houthis are basically tough mountain people and fight like guerillas. Armor is useless there except for flattening villages, destroying infrastructure and starving civilians. In other words, it's genocide armor, not battle armor.
Yemen is Saudi Arabia's Afghanistan - a useless, unwinnable meatgrinder with no rational objective except the (re)installation of the former corrupt U.S. puppet. A true crime against humanity unfolding right before our eyes (well, at least the anti-Iranian parts CNN choses to show us).
"Armor is useless there except for flattening villages, destroying infrastructure and starving civilians. In other words, it's genocide armor, not battle armor."
Precisely +100
Hate to spoil the Iranian Mullah Fan Club going on here but the Saudis are going to crush them like bugs (and no, I'm no fan of either side of these goatfuckers). The tanks don't go in without air support.
Moar popcorn please! ;-)
I'm still rooting for the Houthis, nmewn. They've taken a hell of a pounding for what - four months or so now? They seem pretty resilient and they are fighting for their home turf.
I would argue that air support is useless in Yemen. They can't use any close-in stuff like helicopters - too many shoulder-fired SAMs there. And an F-15 isn't going to be of a lot of help if some Houthi pops up in a third-floor window and sends an ATGM into the nearest tank, then hauls ass out of there. Armor will fail for the same reason the air campaign is failing - there's really nothing to bomb but civilians and infrastructure.
Saudi armor and tactics were always for massed armor engagements against Iraqi or Iranian armor. They (along with air support) would be good for taking and holding the few fixed positions there - like the former Yemeni military bases and air fields - but not so good for chasing light infantry around the countryside and mountains. And whether Yemenis liked their former president Hadi or not, the Saudis are almost universially hated by Yemenis today for the air campaign's indiscriminate civilian deaths.
The Saudis and their armor will be picked off one by one with IEDs and ATMs unless they level the cities or avoid them completely. Sure, it will be effective if they can roll over massed Houthi formations or their fortified positions, but there isn't many of those. Armor has it's place, but that place isn't in Yemen against basically everyone. I say it's an act of desperation to gain more leverage in whatever kind of peace negotiations they're scheming for this fall. Saudi Arabia's internal problems are mounting every day - they're going to need those tanks and crews back in Riyadh pretty damn soon.
P.S. We still have some Mullah Fan Club t-shirts left, but only in size small. I guess the Saturday morning cartoons ain't going over too well as an indoctrination tool. Needless to say, the child canings were a complete disaster for our membership drive. I warned them about that one.
As well, an aircraft could never win ground, it just flies in the air, it has no effect on who owns/contols a piece of turf. It is outdated and useless if used in this fashion.
I wish it was faster that people woke up to the fact that it is the Western Axis of Evil that is going around doing ALL the terror and murder.
Always good comments Pavway.
Wrong, Newman. In 2006 Hezbollah crushed Israeli tanks with Kornet anti-tank missiles.
Reason you can pretend it didn't happen is that the losing side happens to own the media.
All the IDF could do, in typical fashion, was to bomb civilians and throw a hissy-fit about how while in their attempt to invade Lebanon they were victims of aggression. Because the holocaust, of course.
Jog on buddy, jog on. ( politically correct version of Run Jew, Run.)
Yeah that looks weird... so did the markets. I wonder if this was the trigger. Who knows...fuck this shit show. Cry 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war!
Charts don't lie. Something happened.
Lockart came out saying they will raise rates in Sept.,
'The Saudis are the Number 1 state sponsor of Terrorism of the Middle eastern countries.'
Saudis; #2 proxy after #1 proxy; Israel for the #1 state global sponsor of NWO terrorism
No the press is doing it right, they just informed me on what color wedding dress we should wear for an August wedding...
That reporter is quite brave wandering around between the tanks so casually. Brave ... or nuts!
It's also pretty wild that now many death-defying invasions as scary as crap are shown on YouTube.
Or how people forget that Putin consented to the blockade and arms embargo against the "rebels" in Yemen. Putin has supported this through his actions, while he will most likely speak words that pretend he is against it.
Hey! No reminding ZHers that Putin's allegiance is often not a lot of help.
Okay, wake us when Putin matches Kerry/Nudelman/Kagan and raises the next ISIS. kthxbye.
I'm not an expert on tanks. I can't tell the difference between one model from another. To me, this video looks exactly the same as Saddam Hussein's tanks rolling into Kuwait.
The russians are invading OMG the russian invasion. We all yemenis.
I don't think it's possible for a real peace in the Mideast.
Onward Zion soldiers.
Liberty is a demand. Tyranny is submission..
Yea that Greater Israel plan for the new balkanized Middle East is in full effect.
Yes: "Yinon Plan."
As the Saudis are involved in ISIS, NUSRA, ISIL and other proxy wars and proxy armies - I hope the Yemeni rebels get some Metis and Kornet anti-tank weapons.
Much of the Saudi army are men with Yemeni tribal relations. The House of Saud deserves all the bad karma they have created.
Wasn't the UN created to stop this type of thing, lol
Saudis are challenging Israel for the most repugnant nation in the world award but it's still alot to a little...maybe next year!
What kinds of tanks are we seeing there? Some I think were American M-1s, but there was some lighter looking deals too.
The question is whether tanks are the right kind of weapon for this situation. A giant worm would just swallow them up.
Israeli Merkava
I don't think so. The heavy ones are M-1s brought to you by General Dynamics (Crown-Krinsky family who are big Obola and also LBJ supporters. Very close to the whacking of JFK - see F-111 scandal and big AIPAC supporters).
The smaller BMP types could be Bradleys. Russian Kornet and Metis anti-tank missiles can open an M-1, Merkava or just about anything else plus a Bradley.
http://military.wikia.com/wiki/Saudi_Arabian_Army
Definely not Merkavas... They seem to import a hodge-podge of French, US German and even Brazilian armaments (as well as apparently manufactuing some of their own armored cars). What I didn't see was much reactive armor on the tanks. Iran will notice that too....
Jethro, it was a joke. A funny one too.
That's why I gave him a green arrow. It was funny.
But, I used to be an 0351 (Anti-tank Assaultman) at a different point in my life. So, please forgive me for pointing out a few things. A Merkava would actually be well suited for Yemen's terrain, better than an M1 when they get to the hills. But tanks will just be coffins unless they have infantry support. There are lots of Syrian videos to illustrate the point.
Does absence of reactive armor suggest civilian targets, limited to small arms fire (if anything)?
Battle tanks are usually only battleproof from the front.
From the side, any heavy missile can get trough.
And from the rear, any RPG.
Nevertheless, a tandem charge may be needed in case of slat armor or double armor.
Yup and they run on matza bread and fire lox and bagels out their smooth bore cannon.
there are not Merkva. There are frrech leclerc tanks, belonging to quataris. soudia arabia never order them. yourealize then that that war is not going well for saudis...
Those are emirati vehicles.
Batlle tank are french LECLERC with barracuda camouflage blanket and some AZUR kits (urban fighting kit).
There are some pictures with at least a column of 23 LECLERC.
Infantry fighting vehicles are russian BMP-3.
"According to the Houthis, coalition forces were "crushed" and their vehicles destroyed, but a spokesman for the Popular Resistance said most of the base was in coalition hands."
Remedial translastion:
"God will roast their stomachs in hell at the hands of the Iraqi's..."
Bravo USA! Bravo!
This is how you get your war started. You never was going to invade Iran. You always had a plan to force them out of their borders. Once out then open season for those pieces of shit who run israel. Innocent blood for a few should be the motto for all this garbage.
Holy shit brown people rolling into other brown places menacingly, haven't seen this shit before!
and yellow too! don't leave them out!
But, but ... Muslims don't kill Muslims!!!!
#MuslimLivesMatter? Too soon?
houthis on first?
"In any event, we suppose the real question is whether Iran is willing to stand by and watch as the Houthis are dismantled by Saudi Arabia, or whether Tehran decides it's time to provide more than just "logistical support", at which point Yemen's proxy "conflict" will officially morph into a regional sectarian war."
I venture that if Iran decides to further help its brethren, that somewhere rather quickly down the line, S-300's and perhaps even S-400 batteries could find their way to active deployment ---- somewhere, no...?
Basically the people of Yemen who are disinclined to follow the tyrannical dictates of a US puppet regime are being war crimed on the daily by the world's leading state sponsor of Salafist terror.
And the press is silent, there will be no sanctions, and the MSM will be in lock step on the neocon, Zionist narrative.
Iran ought to realize that no matter what they do, the Jews will not give up on getting the US to smash it.

Iran will always be the enemy

Bullish for defense stocks and MIC clowns and puppets having hard ons from great news!
Kind of sad,,, after 6000 years we're no further socially than we were when first coming out of the caves.
But hey,,, we got those killing machines down to a fine art. Yea, baby!
WW3 grinds on. Someone needs to gong that amateur show in the White House before we get killed.
Sounds familiar. "First World" military vs sandles wearing "terrorists".
Same old playbook.
Why isn't the US State Departments screaming about Saudi Arabia violating the territorial integrity of Yemen?
The rats in the Pentagon call it nation building...
Saudis are animals.
Period.
Very little media coverage on this war in the global press. Someone is doing a good job of suppressing the size and brutality of what's going on. I don't see how we can keep hearing about "Cecil the Lion" when this type of war is unfolding. The world is becoming a bizarre place.
Precisely, just like what is also going on in Bahrain.
That regime makes Assad look like a Cub Scout. But the maggots in this regime are our pals.
So thus we hear nothing about it. Barry probably kisses their hands too, just like the Saudi royal pigs.
We do hear all the senseless drivel about Caitlin Jenner's new reality show and Cecil the dead lion.
Hey this strategy works for the Israelis... Not! Hey this strategy worked in several places for the United States... Not! Hey this strategy worked for the French in Vietnam.... Not! Hey this strategy worked for the Soviet Unikn in Afghanistan.... Not!
You can invade any country if you have better weapons, but you can never defeat an enemy that blends into the rest of the population, or is fighting a Civil War. For every enemy you kill, you create an entire extended family seeking revenge.

But try telling this to the American people. Read the comments sections at the NYT or - if you can stomach it - HuffPo.
We are good and fucked, riding this thing to the end.
I used to think there might be some "Brotherhood" of patriots - or just decent human being with families - somewhere in the Deep State, but no one wants to be first over the hill...
Which is why things are going to get far far worse, faster and faster.
I know many of us suffer from doom porn fatigue - but the chaos is accelerating, it seems clear, and as the Anglo-Zionist Banking and Warfare Empire keeps hunting down the Rebel Alliance {if you will}, the more dangerous it gets.
For fuck's sake.
It doesn't have to be this way.
At least we brotherhood of a few versus no brotherhood at all. I like your statement about doom porn fatigue. For most people to overcome the propaganda is next to impossible and even if you get the message across to a few people they still do nothing about the facts. imho, we have another 10 years of this shit before it washes up on our shore like a tidal wave. Hell in a bucket, enjoy the ride. Talkin' WWIII Blues - https://youtu.be/wgXfvCNb6VQ
Arab spring 15
“More than 120 members belonging to the elite regiment are currently in the war-torn country” covertly “dressed in black and flying ISIS flags,” engaged in what’s called Operation Shader – attacking Syrian targets on the pretext of combatting ISIS.
KSA has spent $ billions bombing and murdering people in the poorest country in the Middle East, using mostly US supplied weapons and logistics support. Now they are using US supplied tanks to kill more people. US taxpayers have spent $ Trillion on wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria all still ongoing; in Yemen KSA serves as a proxy force to US/NATO. Make no mistake, this is a battle for control of the choke point at the entrance to the Red Sea from the Gulf of Aden. In the 1960s, Egypt entered into a long, costly quagmire in Yemen. Egyptian president Nasser intervened in Yemen in support of a republican coup led by military officers seeking to oust the country's monarchy in 1962. Egypt ended up suffering thousands of casualties in this campaign. (link: www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/03/28/how-yemen-was-once-...)
Let’s watch how KSA fares in this war 6 months from now.
Is it safe to assume that once again mr.global and his de-facto global military force are pulling strings in support of both factions?
.. just business as usual..
Well, at least we (USA) are on the winning side of one opf the battles.......
Saudies are pissed, they going to take over yemen and make it part of their empire...
That way their oil sales are safe.......
Great news! #WINNING
let me wait until the fighting will spread to Riyadh.
The Empire never died it just mutated into a hybrid Empire to survive into it's planned NWO iteration.
The Empire never died - VALIS "Vast Active Life ntelligence System" aka Humanity ruled by the usual suspects.
lol, Why do you think the Rome had the Roman Catholic Church call it MASS ?
Fact: Every Saudi dictator has been picked by the UK
Philip K. Dick had it right in 81'.
My understanding of the Saudis is they generally do not work. They hire foreigners to run their infrastructure. Are Phillipino women driving their US built tanks?
Possibly, but the Saudis act like they're doing something when they take pics for social media?
The ME is where World War III will start.
I want to be in a tank, where else can the temperature go from 100 degrees to 2,000+ degrees in a split second.....
Able Ape::I want to be in a tank, where else can the temperature go from 100 degrees to 2,000+ degrees in a split second.....
I was thinking the same thing....what dumphuck asshole would sign on to be a tanker in this day and age? Probably the only thing more assinine would be sitting on an Aircraft Carrier.
When all else fails, you can always pay half of the poor people to kill the other half.
It doesn't matter a whit if it's rocks, swords, rifles, or tanks.
If you prefer, you will run with an helmet and a flak jacket incapable to stop a little caliber bullet just next to the tank.
If you prefer, you will run with an helmet and a flak jacket incapable to stop a little caliber bullet just next to the tank.
True words, it's seriously hot out there in Yemen and you wouldn't want to be stuck without aircon!
Q99X2's personal guess is that the United States of America (NATO and the NWO) are about to take over Saudi Arabia.
Al-queda & ISIS were created by USA
to force Saudis under submission
as a puppet and a leashed dog
as well as fool them to buy expensive
arms , ammo, fighter planes , tanks etc
in order to take back their money
they gave to saudis for oil.
----
Now saudis will spend their ammo & arms
then they would buy more from USA
----
Brilliant plan but only evil
----
Those who count everything as money
soon forget whats good & whats evil
soon, all they start doing,is to play with blood
The Saudis mutilate and kill women for driving a car or having sex outside of marriage.
Anyone who is allies with the Saudis are filthy animals.
So,
Fuck you Americans,
And,
Fuck you America.
America is a lie and an abomination.
Send all Americans to Israel and bring back the Indians.
Indians ??
Great
Rather let BRICS re-populate America
