Another Theater Shooting: Active Shooter Reported In Nashville Cinema, Suspect Dead - Live Feed
Just two days after a jury agreed that Colorado theater shooter James Holmes could still face the death penalty for the tragic July 2012 mass shooting which killed 12 and injured 70, and a month after another shooter killed two and injured 8 before killing himself, moments ago WSMV reported that another active shooter situation had emerged in Nashville with the Nashville Fire Department confirming that shots were being fired at the Carmike 8 Cinemas on Bell Road at 1:55 p.m.
WSMV reports that police responded to a shots fired call about 1:15.
Dispatch confirmed three EMS units have been sent to the scene.
A spokesperson at Vanderbilt University Medical Center does not know if it will receive any patients.
Witnesses at a nearby business reported one person covered with blood.
The Ford Ice Center has been placed on lock down.
The Global Mall, which is next to the theater, has also been placed on lock down.
Last month a shooter opened fire a movie theater in Lafayette, LA.
The shooter killed two and injured eight before killing himself on July 23. Police said the 58-year-old gunman was armed with a handgun and acted alone.
In 2012, another man opened fire on a movie theater in Aurora, CO, killing 12 and injuring 70 more, in one of the largest mass shootings in U.S. history. The gunman, James Holmes, has been found guilty in the attack and is going through a sentencing trial to determine if he’ll receive the death penalty.

Ban Hatchets Now!
I generally don't enter a "gun free zone" establishment, mainly just because I don't want to give people who want to infringe on my rights my money, BUT: these gun free zones people put up on movie theaters, at least in my state of Florida, carry no force of law whatsoever. If I were to go into a 'gun free zone' movie theater in florida while carrying my concealed pistol and the theater noticed it, all they can do is tell me to leave. If you refuse, you are then tresspassing and can be arrested for that, but as long as its not something like a courthouse, or any other establlishment listed as an "off limits" area in state law, all anyone can tell you to do is leave. I don't know what the laws are in all of yalls states, as all of them are different, so DYODD, but if you live in florida, no sign on the door legally prohibits you from carrying in a movie theater, mall, etc.
Now, also keep in mind: if management sees you carrying in their building, they may call the cops before asking you to leave, or to have them escort you out, and since we have a lot of dumbass cops in this country who don't even know the laws they will beat or kill you to enforce, you could still be arrested, but the charges will be dropped once you are put before a judge, or even once you get to the police station and there is a competent supervisor there, because once again, these signs have no force of law.

I certainly do not want to carry an 'assualt rifle' around with me everywhere, they tend to be heavy and cumbersome, and its hot down here in FL, nor do I think that is necessary in most self defense situtions. A smaller handgun will do just fine. I do, however, support anyone elses right to do so if they want to.

while i agree that as property owners, movie theaters have the right to ban people from carrying guns in their establishment, I disagree with that, since it just creates a target rich environment. As someone who is nearly always armed, I will not set foot in one, and niether will my immediate family. More and more like minded people are making the same decision. Our local theaters are not gun free zones and I carry. It makes my wife and kids feel better, which in turn allows her to view the movie in relative comfort.

When I purchased my "compound" (13 acres, a home and a guest cabin out in the sticks) south of Nash I was pulling in for the "final walk through" and the female was rolling through the yard with a 357 magnum. We all introduced ourselves and the husband said "Man you just missed it, only took her 4 shots to kill that big cow snake". I just laughed. He owned a business and she was a nurse....I just knew they were "my kind of people". We don't see "not my kind of people" around here much, as a matter of fact I am in the safest town in TN.
First thing I accomplished in the first week was to crack off around 400 rounds from the AR to let the neighbors know I had arrived...but I only have 4 within a mile and they shoot a lot anyway so I figure they will be coming down to bum some ammo at some point.

I was looking at all the new big screen TVs at Wal-Mart the other day. I was amazed to see how gorgeous the pictures were on all the TVs. Even the cheap, no name brands you never heard about had nice pictures. There's really no need to go to the movies anymore if you bought a large TV in the last 5 years.
