GOP Panic? RNC Chair Says Trump Is "Breath Of Fresh Air"

Tyler Durden's picture

With just hours to go until the first GOP Presidential candidate debate circus is unleashed, it appears the GOP is in full panic mode. With 10 hopefuls heading to their lecterns, only one stands out (in polls) and that, as The Hill reports, despite being snubbed by The Koch botthers, has Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus saying that Donald Trump is offering his party’s voters a breath of fresh air.

As The Hill reports,

“Donald Trump has tapped into something where people are tired of the veneer of the plasticized politics that we get,” Priebus told hosts Alisyn Camerota and Chris Cuomo on CNN’s “New Day.”

“People are gravitating to that,” he said. “I’ve had great conversations with Donald Trump. I think he wants to be the Republican nominee.”

“He knows that if Hillary Clinton is going to be beat or Joe Biden is going to be beat, it’s going to be by a Republican,” Priebus added.

*  *  *

We assume this is simply - "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" strategy but represents quite a swing from the denial and denigration of just a few weeks ago.

It's telling tha tthe DNC is scared of him by how much they are pushing the narrative of him being aligned with the Clintons.

They want to destroy him in the RNC by guilt of association. Makes me want to him go against their campaign even more. The worse that can happen is that Hillary sits in the Oval office. Not like that will change how fast this ship is sinking.

I'm all for throwing a wrench in the political process but how frightening would it be if he actually won.  He it a moron who pretends he is a self-made man when his father, Fred Trump, was the one to build the empire quietly.  This blow-hard is less a business man than a con-man.

You say he's a moron but I seriously doubt his IQ is below 100.  You can say that he's arrogant or that you don't agree with his politics or whatnot.

I'd guess his IQ is 130-140 and his ego is a good 20 points higher than his IQ.

Nevertheless, I'll vote for him and hope he doesn't start WW3.

Willing to bet you've not read any of his stuff.  He's playing both the media and the politicians right now.  Has the lead, has survived the backlash from tossing out 'real issues' and not backing down, and now he'll calm down.

Ever see him conduct an interview?  Anderson Cooper at the hotel?

No advisors, no handlers, no coaches, no teleprompters.  No spokesperson sent out afterwards to clean up.

Has tremendous depth on most topics, of course has his opinions, he needs no help with them.

Tonight, watch him check the buffoonery and switch to boardroom mode.  He has them right where he wants them.   Whether he wants, or would be good for the presidency is a mutually exclusive issue.

Priebus is just doing a Marc Antony "He is a good man..." routine on Trump.

The RNC and GOP will throw Trump to the sharks the way they did Ron Paul.

Trump is popular because he is saying things the other milk-toast GOP candidates will never say, which is why they will never get elected by the 42% who could vote Republicrat.

The Demicans have brought enough illegal immigrants in and handed out enough free sandwiches and phones that they will be hard to ever beat again in an "election".

Never trusted Benton or Tate after participating in the good doctor's run in 2008. While the timing is suspicious...

I think the timing is pretty obvious - but unfortunately will be completely lost on the average 'Murican.

Benton deserves to rot in Hell - I hope they screw him to the floor.   He's a complete piece of shit who did everything he could to undermine Ron Paul - although the hypocrisy of the "Justice" Department charges are disgusting given the massive illegality surrounding Obomber's, Bush's, and Clinton's campaign financing.

I had dinner with Ron Paul in 2008 when he came through my area.  I've never donated to a politician in my life, but gave him the max and kind of won a "golden ticket" for the donation.  He is a good man - his main "weakness" is that he believed that American people would use their feeble brains to think ... and that the opposition would fight fair.  He was too idealistic (and kind) to fight the cancerous cesspool that US politics has become .... but I still think he would have been a good - if not great - president.

Why care about this crap unless you're looking for site hits from people who might as well be arguing over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?

I suspect that those on this site are most likely far more informed potential voters than the average person. However, for every one of your informed votes placed for a 3rd party candidate (which would be the only result of any truly informed vote), a thousand votes will be cast by the idiocracy for the oligarchy money-vetted empty suits nominated by the dominant parties.

So, ignore this farce. By paying attention you only validate its cheesy veneer of importance.

His candidacy is nightshade for the Republican party.  For years they have ridden an alliance of angry old white people, low information nativists and corporate whores to political power.  The low information voter and angry people have made clear though, that they are sick of being ignored and want their looney ideas implemented.  It's the Tea Party vs. the Establishment GOP writ large, and it looks like every cycle there is less mood to compromise.

You're right.  To win the GOP nomination, a candidate will have to pose as the craziest of the crazy, selling nostalgia for a time that never existed and simple, brutal, solutions to complex and possibly insoluble problems caused by the fundamental internal contradictions of our system.  In the General Election, that candidate will have to compete with a candidate who really seems to believe that all those same problems can be solved by doing the same things we've been doing already, except more.  As a Democrat, that person will have to believe our system can be fixed by making it "nicer" or "more fair."

So, yeah, it's a choice between a person who's crazy in one way, or crazy in a very similar way.  Meanwhile, events proceed unhindered.

i cant fucking stand reince priebus. only reason he's saying this is because trump is ripping shit up in the polls. priebus blasted trump about his border comments. fuck priebus. he's had no answer for the gazallions of illegals pouring over, running up our debt because their countries are fucking broke.

how this asshole kept his job after romney lost is beyond me. its HIS JOB so set-forth the tone & strategy to win. keeping him after 2012 was like when the mets kept willie randolph after they lost the division when they were 11 games up with 14 to go. you simply HAVE TO fire the head coach. priebus gave a dogshit platform & offered NOTHING to the romney campaign that was worth value. this dick simply thought he'd beat obama because he was the worst president we ever had. he forgot 2 key elements:

1. hard to unseat an incumbant: in order to beat the champ u HAVE TO knock him out and NOT go to the scorebards. after the first debate, romney pussed-out. obama "rope-a-doped" him.

2. hard to beat the "free shit" argument from the other side. republicans NEVER made the case for how ZIRP hurts the middle & lower class WAY MORE than the rich. the rich are the ones who have MADE ALL THE $$$ under obama. how this was not POUNDED on goes SQUARELY on the RNC chair IMO. they NEVER made the case why they are better for the middle & lower class. only played defense the whole fucking time.

and the ReTHUGlicans will never point out how not only recent Fed Policies but the very existence of the Fed is anathema to the best interests to US Citizens.......ALL of them given enough time.  Because, well, this is Prima Facie evidence that the country is not run by teh two parties but by teh Oligarchs of Finance.  Just watch how it has worked and will work from here given enough time, ie, the "rich" group will continue to contract until it is only Finance, adn whatever "service" groups they need.

It began with a middle class (50+%) in the top.......then top 10%.....then top 1%.....now top 0.01% but if that is not good enough for the idiots in this country, just wait.  It will be 0.001% next year or so.

End the Fed.....Jail and return the banksters stolen loot to the country.

So the other day a friend of mine, a well informed friend, commented on how well Trump is doing, and his hope of a Trump victory.

I then asked him to ponder the campaigns of Ron Paul and how the media treated him, a very real threat to the establishment and Zion. I then forgot about this exchange, until I saw him again two days later, and he reminded me of it.

His comment was, "The corporate-media deliberately marginalized Ron Paul, rigged the debates, and are even on camera joyously celebrating said actions, etc. Yet they carry every word, and and every photo op., that Trump makes. I think the fix is in."

And there you have it. With a little thought one can see the stage and strings.

THE TRUTH AT HARVARD

How we became the Dispossessed Majority

And today, maybe not even a majority.

We've been sold out by those who we thought were our friends, WE HAVE NO FRIENDS!

South African Dan Roodt, November 9, 2012

Demography is destiny, as Auguste Comte said. There is a mysterious process whereby whites react to racial domination not by rioting or claiming special privileges as other races do, but by working harder, having even fewer children, and quarrelling among themselves. We see this happening in South Africa, in Western Europe and, of course, in America, where white Republicans and Democrats are like two dogs fighting over a bone, while a third is about to run away with it and leave them with nothing.

The Republican Party is poised to adopt the attitude of South Africa’s liberal opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, which has forsaken its core white support and practices affirmative action in its own ranks. There are three women on its election posters: one white, one colored or mixed-race, and one black, at once expressing the party’s diversity and its disdain for the white male.

Lest we forget, the rank and file of the Republican Party rebelled against Ronald Reagan’s veto and passed sanctions against South Africa on Sept. 29, 1986.

Since that time, the U.S. has consistently pursued an anti-white foreign policy. In Southern Africa it supported black Marxist movements such as the African National Congress (ANC) and the South West African Peoples Organization (SWAPO). In Europe, it has called for a large Muslim state—Turkey—to be included in the European Union. Would the American elite ever adopt a pro-white policy domestically while pursuing the opposite of such a policy externally?

There are three forces that are likely to determine the Republican Party’s position on white interests. The first is the wishes of its own electorate; the second is the corporate sector that funds the party, and the third is the mainstream media. America’s large corporations support affirmative action and diversity, while the media support multiculturalism. The GOP will follow their bidding and betray its voters.

Like the whites of the former Rhodesia, South West Africa, and South Africa, Republicans will embark on a forlorn search for conservative allies “of color” whom non-white voters will reject as traitors. Even if a black woman such as Condoleezza Rice could be fielded as the next Republican presidential candidate, it is doubtful whether many blacks or Hispanics would vote for her.
Patrick Buchanan and others have already chronicled “the death of the West,” but we need to understand the laws of this process, because it follows a pattern of false hopes, interspersed with successive betrayals by white leaders.

American whites could become a minority much sooner than they think. That has been our experience in South Africa; people appreciate the enormity of change only after it is too late.
