I should learn about ad blocker. I know that if I use it, I fuck up some stuff I need for work, so I have not taken the time to focus on it. Also, I really am okay to click the ads and help out.
MsC, there was one I used back in the windoz days that you needed to teach what to do for each site. It was really nice after you had it 'trained', and you could allow what you needed for work. For that matter, AdBlock allows you to open blockable items and probably allow what you need. So far I have not found the need to try.

In fact, in the last general election, a record number of independents were elected from across the spectrum, and the two dominant parties, who have governed the State mostly since independence are not capable of getting anywhere near a majority on their own.

There are other problems with our system, but like in yours, it's down to us and our at the end of the day, most are just pulling for themselves. There are theorists out there who see these things run in shifts of threes. The depression kids and early adults KNEW hard times and appreciated when things got better. They were careful with their money, later. Their kids (my parents) kind of rolled their eyes, knew mom and dad had it hard, took some care, but spent more because the depression was not an experience, but a story for them. Their kids had few clues at all, were entitled, had little sense of hardship, sacrifice, and work, and they were the ones to complete the collapse cycle (read that new depression). I have over simplified this idea, but generally it seems to flow through the generations this way. Millennials are going to be the ones who pick up the pieces, I suspect. Sorry about that.
I will say, I have spent some time being angry at boomers. They were the hippies. They were cool, they knew better, their music was awesome. They protested Vietnam, they wanted real change. They knew the FBI and CIA were working hard to keep the interests of the elite in tact. One take is they got greedy and gave up their ideals. A more simple take is they had kids and started to want to do their best for them and lost sight of the idealism they had, in order to do what it took to pay the bills.
The longer I am on the planet, the more I realize that we repeat stuff because we are ignorant of history. My grandmother got $3,000 out of her bank 2 weeks before the market crashed in 1929. She said she had it easier than most during the depression because she had that cash. She had family members who were connected that told her to do it. She rubbed off on me big time, she told me to NEVER trust the stock market. I did get in it for a while, but took it all out in late 2006 early 2007 because I saw it coming (I am always too fucking early).
A big assed crash is well over due. We can blame some boomers, the thing is, this is mother nature, human nature, cycles, and history. Said in other words, we don't seem to ever learn the lesson. Boomers are not special.
