Something Doesn't Add Up...
Away from the utter farce of the rigged close in today's manipulated, volatility-crushing market
We could not help but notice that with CNN's Fear & Greed Index at 10 - Extreme Fear...
...and 6 of the 7 underlying factor at 'Extreme Fear', something doesn't add up that the VIX 'factor' is "neutral"...

When everything is programmed to buy when VIX is crushed, you don't really care.
nar tyler its perfectly explainable. The fear is so palpable that traders are paralysed into inaction, thus being unable to trade vix. sheesh.
Traders should be ending their summer vacations soon.

VIX is worthless. Software developers can program hedge fund algorithms so that they can sell off without causing a spike in volatility.
It's another one where the tail can wag the dog, being paper based.

At least when it comes to the VIX, the index has been acting like it has shock absorbers. It hardly measures fear in quite the way it used to.
Given how long's it's taken to get here (Dow & RUT below Daily Keltners, SPY piercing 200DMA, COMP at 100), could be machines playing for a pop against late sellers to take us up to a re-shorting point. Of course, if VIX-bashing continues, then another screamer will be on tap next week, but some say it feels 'different this time' ...
What it's telling you is there will likely be another run up next week.
In the absence of true price discover and the application of "mark ot fantasy" accounting by, well everyone, "prices" and "valuation" are in fact fucking meaninless...

Every bounce off the 200dma is weaker and weaker. That 200dma is unfortunately a serious multi-year support, but the reckoning is close.
A relative of mind who happens to be a high placed alumnus of an unmentioned bank and owns a hedge fund called me last week and had me tell his assistant how to buy storable foods for his bugout home......I laughed because there won't be any food there when/if he has to bug out there......his caretakers in the bugout town will have it all most likely by the time he gets there.........
