We truly live in a country run by idiots. The contradictions between common sense and government actions are just too many to have happened by accident or chance. But perhaps the leaders are not the idiots. Maybe the people tolerating such leaders and laws are the true idiots.
What follows is a contrast between common folk wisdom and what Washington considers wisdom. These contradictions are inconvenient for government, threatening to reveal their incompetence or hidden agenda. The author of this piece is unknown although it sounds like something that could have come from Jeff Foxworthy who popularized this presentation style.
Oh, and regarding the image above - we are the idiots for accepting this nonsense.
If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally, you live in a country run by idiots.
If you have to get your parent’s permission to go on a field trip or to take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion, you live in a country run by idiots.
If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor or check out a library book, but not to vote who runs the government, you live in a country run by idiots.
If the government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than ten rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy leaders in Egypt , you live in a country run by idiots.
If, in the largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not a 24-ounce soda because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat, you live in a country run by idiots.
If an 80-year-old woman can be strip-searched by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched, you live in a country run by idiots.
If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more, you live in a country run by idiots.
If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is cute, but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable, you live in a country run by idiots.
If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, Subsidized Housing and Free Cell Phones, you live in a country run by idiots.
If the government’s plan for getting people back to work is to incentivize NOT working with 99 weeks of unemployment checks and no requirement to prove they applied but cannot find work, you live in a country run by idiots.
If being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you more safe according to the government, you live in a country run by idiots.
If you are offended by this article, I’ll bet you voted for the idiots who are running our great country into the ground.

In the old days, every village had a well known and easily identified 'Idiot'. They were the source for much entertainment and merriment, and in as much were greatly valued by the people in the Community...Not at all harmful, always happy, a drooling booger eater perhaps, but they were OUR drooling booger eater and we loved them. Many a wonderful time was had discussing their antics. They were also a teaching tool to the kids to be kind to unfortunates..Its not a badge of honor to pick on a Booboo.. etc.
Back in the 80's in Grygla Minnesota, there was a guy known as 'Pinhead'. Looking back, this poor unfortunate was was a microcephalic of some sort...He had a hard time keeping a John Deere hat on his head, that plastic snap at the back was maxxed out on the smallest denominator setting, and even then it settled on his tiny little noggin so far down it pushed his ears over in a comical manner. His head was no bigger than an orange.
Pinhead was hired by all and sundry to do the work nobody else wanted to do. Any repetetive or menial boring task that didnt require much thinking, splitting wood, digging a grave, shovelling snow, even driving a hay wagon, Pinhead was your man.
One Spring, Hans Hansen let Pinhead drive his tractor to plant a field. Halfway through the job, Pinhead decided he would take a break and drove Hans' tractor down the road a few miles to the local watering hole...yep, he was planting seed all the way there and back! We laughed more at Hans than Pinhead!
These .gov people now a days are not 'Idiots' in the traditional definition...they are more like Pennywise the Clown crossed with John Wayne Gacy..
I'd vote for Pinhead for any civic office..He didnt want to hurt anyone and was funnier than hell...I doubt any of these 'idiots' mentioned in the article now a days could even drive a tractor. I moved away chasing the dollar, and heard later he froze to death sleeping between two mattresses in that winter after Mt. St Helens popped when it got 50 below for a long time...the whole town turned out for his funeral..He made us all feel better for his time on this Planet, and even now, all these years later, I think of him and aspire to be half the man he was..

You are absolutely right. We are using bread and circuses straight down the road to hell and will follow Rome there if we don't make some changes.

I think most of the posts here are by people who do not understand how the "entitlement" system works. The amount of money going into these programs, setting aside SS, is a paltry sum when compared to the amount of money the US spends on it's military; and I'm only talking about the numbers on the books. If people were to pay the real price for petrol at the pump, they would have a compleetely different view of what entitlements they are receiving every day. Granted, the US has massive oil reserves available to tem, but factor in the amount of money that goes toward protecting Saudi oil fields and the corp subsidies to oil and you get a very different idea of where your tax dollars are really going. The welfare queen is a red herring, there to confuse and detract from what is really going on... and you all eat it up.
Entitlements are not even mentioned in the Constitution but defense is and I question the legality of spending on SNAP, EBT, WIC, Section 8 Housing, Utility supplements, and OPhones, just to name a few. We have hooked 3 generations on government dependence to the detriment of the country.
Furthermore, the defense spending has been cut 25% to the point our military is the weakest it has been since World War II. It is entitlements that are out of control and that includes Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. These are all Federal programs and the truth is that state and local finances are even worse off.

honestly, you people and your constitution. it was written 240 years ago, before the industrial revolution, during slavery and long before a fuller understanding of complex economies. it's almost like taking your worldview from a book written between 2000 and 5000 years ago... oh, sorry people still do that too. most of the people who post this crazy shit on this site would be in a worse predicament if they lived under the same conditions as those living during the founding of your country. my only question in regard to your question on the legality of anything is, are you trained as a lawyer? if not, then you most likely don't even understand the constitution, like it can be amended!
