Mapping The "Not Donald Trump"-ness Of GOP Candidates

Tyler Durden's picture

Ever aware of the potential for change, GOP Presidential candidates face a tough balance currently. As The Washington Post explains, should Trump's 'burn-it-down' aggression ever cross one too many lines, around 20% of Republicans will be looking for someone else to support - someone who didn't think they were a total idiot for supporting Trump in the first place. Based on their responses and statements, WaPo has quantified the "Trumpness Factor" for each of the GOP candidates...

An important note on these rankings... expect them to change...

We need Liberty not authoritarian views in our policies.

I have come up with my own way of helping Rand's campaign. As you all are probably aware, I have been making candles with silver coin prizes (https://www.etsy.com/shop/ScentSavers?ref=hdr_shop_menuhttp://popularliberty.com/sites/all/modules/extlink/extlink_s.png) 2px 50% no-repeat;">(link is external)).

In honor of Ron Paul's birthday on August 20th, I will make a donation of half of the sale price of each candle sold (Aug 8th-20th) to Rand Paul's 2016 Presidential Campaign (https://secure.randpaul.com/http://popularliberty.com/sites/all/modules/extlink/extlink_s.png) 2px 50% no-repeat;">(link is external)). The donations will be made in my name (unless we hit the $2,700 individual limit of course.) in the 11:00pm est hour of August 20! A copy of the receipt will be mailed to the buyers address.

To thank Rand for standing up for the bill of rights and to ensure that the purchase is separated from a regular purchase, include in the buyer's notes which one of the bill of rights you believe to be the most important!

This is not a scam for me to make a buck, I will actually be losing money on all of this. I want to honor an American Hero in Ron and help his son fight the establishment at the same time.

I wish Rand had a chance.  He is trying to be a politician instead of unapologetically standing by his views like his dad, and unfortunately he’s not a very good politician.

The campaign just started and you are writing him off? He stood strong for civil liberties in the first debate. Educated people in the 4th amendment and the bill of rights. Now he has been campaigning in south Carolina exposing Trump at every speech and stop. In 10-11 months time, that's when you will know whether or not to throw in the towel and accept whatever banker lover president we will get next.

'exposing Trump at every speech and stop', that won't get him elected.  That's exactly what was wrong with the debate.  They all did their best to dump on Trump when I wanted to hear more about their own views.  They did do some bragging but not much said about what they would change in the government.  Paul was on the spot with comments about civil liberties and I hope some people did learn something.  Some of the others were down on Paul as well but Trump took the brunt of it and shrugged it off.  That made him look good.

Mon, 08/10/2015 - 20:11 | 6412135 realmoney2015

Oh so you mean like specific plans to change government? Hard to do in a few minutes, especially when much of that was 'earned' by interjecting.

You haven't been paying attention to Rand then. Hard to blame you since the media isn't all over him. He wants to end the IRS with a flat tax. End all foreign aid. Audit the Fed. End illegal govt spying. Balance the budget, with a real plan ready to go already.

Trump and other politicians don't want this to go to policy debates. They want to keep it superficial where they can get someone 'elected' for face value claims of 'Hope and Change'.

I've been saying this to friends and family since at least 2007, but nobody was listening back then . . . and most of them voted for the Hope and Change.  What they've now got is that Johnny Cash joke that's not really funny:

"Twenty years ago we had Steve Jobs, Bob Hope, and Johnny Cash.  Now we have no Jobs, no Hope, and no Cash.  (Please don't let Kevin Bacon die!)"

Has everyone so soon lost their (short and long term) memory to what "Hope & Change" was going to deliver in 2008 and that mysterious magical event that took place in Miami in June of that year where "Hope & Change" accepted the nomination on the condition that Israel's capitol would always be Jerusalem and that the U.S. would always do what is necessary and obey the almighty "Talmud" to the last man, woman and child in North America if he was told to do so?...

And let me be on record for telling the author of this shit paper of a read that 'The Donald" will abide by his paymasters in Manhattan the ones who always got his real estate business deal(s) done for he and dear old Dad no matter what it cost the taxpayer… And now he will bend at the knee as the subservient handmaiden to Washington the home of the only bank that matters should he be given the nod for the tiara to win the beauty pageant.  Something he’s intimately good at from experience himself but with much smaller stakes involved!

He and everyone in that White House sold out after November 22, 1963. He’ll obey for sure.  They all have since Lyndon Johnson and he will be no different than the rest of them…

You see it doesn't matter which one receives the crown and roses.  The assholes and mouths are interchangeable as they are all drinking from the same cup and on the "same team" at your expense!!!

Manipuflation for President.  I would show up to the next debate with this shirt.

My platform?  Eliminating most Executive Orders after review.

My first act as President?  Issuing an executive order to the effect that the Federal Reserve is no longer the bank who controls the monetary policy of the United States and that banks must compete with each other for customers.  FDIC gone.  Legal tender laws gone.  Someone has to do it eventually.

That would be enough to rock the world right there but I am curious what you folks would do.  There is plenty more to do but where do you go after dismantling the Fed?  I see many things that could be UNDONE.  Are any of the candidates even talking about anything that matters?  I do not care what party because it does not matter.

After that I would just go home and tend my garden.

The idea that Washington politics is all big time wrestling is dawning on more people. The photograph at the link of Rand Paul with his pal AL SHARPTON is priceless. Ron, I love you but your son, is NOT the father.

A Year After Ferguson, Another Bright Idea From GOP Elite—Go Soft on Crime!

One year after Ferguson, the MSM is celebrating as if the Narrative never Collapsed—and so is the GOP leadership. One of the unique things about Republicans is that they pander to people who will never vote for them while ignoring or insulting voters who could easily be coaxed back into their fold. Hence the current rush to embrace “criminal justice reform.”

What used to be called “law and order” issues were a cornerstone of the winning Republican agenda of the 1970s and 1980s. Presidents Nixon (1972) and Reagan (1984) won 67 percent and 64 of the white vote respectively by taking a tough stance against rioters and black criminals. These victories were made possible by working class white voters—often ethnic union members—who switched parties precisely because of social issues like crime, Affirmative Action, welfare and busing.

But those days may be over as cuckservatives and GOP leaders try to compete with Democrats in reducing minimum sentencing laws and releasing (mostly black) criminals from prison. That they are getting soft on crime when cities across the U.S. are seeing riots and sharp spikes in violence speaks to the clueless and corrupt nature of the Stupid Party’s consultant class:

“America’s demographics are changing at lightning speed, so Republicans are going to have to court minority voters, period,” said GOP strategist Ford O’Connell. “This is a smart way to do it. Will it move the needle on the 2016 electoral map? I don’t know. But at least there’s a realization that we can’t win the White House relying solely on white voters.”

Man v His Dick (9 min of amusement)

Yes, by old age, the guys should be pondering and sharing wisdom, not looking at girly pictures and day dreaming all day.  We may as well have a nation of eunuchs because I do feel abandoned by the males of our species in minding the store, so to speak.  Are they so weak, is their life so empty, they'd actually medicate themselves to have sex on demand.  I think if left to our own devices, (including uncircumcised penis), we'd have the kind of pure sexual pleasure which memory of is all that is needed.  Sexual references are everywhere.  So are alcohol advertisements.  Distractions that no one argues with, I guess.

More amusement below:

https://www.stlouisfed.org/publications/central-banker/spring-2013/is-th...

"Defining debt monetization" (2013)

“The (FOMC) has often stated its intention to return the Fed balance sheet to normal, pre-crisis levels over time. Once that occurs, the Treasury will be left with just as much debt held by the public as before the Fed took any of these actions.”[4] When that happens, it will be clear that the Fed has not been using money creation as a permanent source for financing government spending."

Deflation: Making Sure "It" Doesn't Happen Here

http://www.federalreserve.gov/boarddocs/Speeches/2002/20021121/default.htm

"Conclusion
Sustained deflation can be highly destructive to a modern economy and should be strongly resisted. Fortunately, for the foreseeable future, the chances of a serious deflation in the United States appear remote indeed, in large part because of our economy's underlying strengths but also because of the determination of the Federal Reserve and other U.S. policymakers to act preemptively against deflationary pressures. Moreover, as I have discussed today, a variety of policy responses are available should deflation appear to be taking hold. Because some of these alternative policy tools are relatively less familiar, they may raise practical problems of implementation and of calibration of their likely economic effects. For this reason, as I have emphasized, prevention of deflation is preferable to cure. Nevertheless, I hope to have persuaded you that the Federal Reserve and other economic policymakers would be far from helpless in the face of deflation, even should the federal funds rate hit its zero bound.19

I like Mr. Trump because he doesn't adhere to the doctrine of political correctness, just like Abraham Lincoln.

Bernie is the pied piper gathering up the stray Democrats to make Hilary president

Trump is the pied piper rounding up the stray Republicans to make Hilary president.

This is how the two-party system works.

There she is, Miss America
There she is, your ideal
The dream of a million girls who are more than pretty can come true
in Atlantic City
For she may turn out to be the Queen of femininity

There she is, Miss America
There she is, your ideal
With so many beauties she took the town by storm
With her all-American face and form

And there she is
Walking on air, she is
Fairest of the fair, she is
There she is - Miss America

In my movie, you would have to take an IQ/Competency/Constitutional knowledge test to even qualify for the primaries.

In my movie you have to work your way up. Trial by fire. When you reach the Peter point I'll keep you if you want to ride the slide back to your competency  level, its cheaper than starting from scratch. Nowadays as benefits degenerate most people take the lateral exit instead of the slide. Since Obama delivered the Clinton healthcare torc for his masters, the rate at which benefits are degenerating looks like the chart of dollars in circulation... Trial by fire. be prepared.

I think I've discovered the media's muse this election cycle...

Keep Donald Trump at the top of the pile, promoting his inciting words and clownish behavior over and over for weeks and months, and showing him at the top of the polls.

So when he finally loses his spot and fades away, every Republican candidate will be smeared with the taint of Trump and will be unable to recover when they face the Clinton machine that has had little of her past and scandals published in the Oligarchy Press.

Too bad about Fiorna.

I think a Trump-Fiorina ticket would have a chance of winning California.

California likes celebrities.  It elected Arnold Schwarzeneggar, and Carly is a hometown girl and has a lot of name recognition.
