Too fast of a burn out. Patients died too quickly to spread the diesese. Virus does survive long on surfaces and never went airborne contagious. There is still a risk that it could mutate into something more dangerous. My guess is that we'll see future flare ups in Africa, but its not certain it will spread globally.

The EPA is basically TEPCO now. First you deny that there is a problem, when the problem becomes apparent you minimize it, you deny that the problem was foreseeable, you give no one adequate warning and lastly you cover your ass at all costs.
The EPA has done a fine job of monitoring radiation from Fukushima as well as overseeing toxic mine waste. The opinion of the EPA should be primary when deciding on our future coal use. The EPA is fucking exceptional.
