"As If A Nuke Went Off" - What One Stunned Tianjin Driver Saw

Tyler Durden's picture

"... the first explosion was followed by an even more powerful explosion, followed by a shock wave that caused live trees to bend, many leaves and branches have fallen, the whole sky was lit with raging fires.. the whole thing was like a Hollywood disaster movie."

Watch the whole thing (especially from 36 seconds in...)

only because you are stupid.  The explosion I posted is 40x larger, scientific fact.

Because the video is from several miles away, and the explosion occurs in the desert, you are unable to comprehend the scale.  If that explosion happened in Tainjin it would have killed the majority of the people recording video up close, and broken the windows of the further away videos (instead of just knocking them back).  The destruction would have been far far worse.

It was a rocket fuel factory, and had the force of a tactical nuke.  Tainjin is big, but tiny in comparison.  It's just filmed up close, at night, and occurs around lots of small objects to turn into debris. Sorry you struggle to use your brain.

Most likely explanation to me.  (From Wikipedia page on dust explosion)

If rapid combustion occurs in a confined space, enormous overpressures can build up, causing major structural damage and flying shrapnel. The sudden release of energy from a "detonation" can produce a shockwave, either in open air or in a confined space. If the spread of flame is at subsonic speed, the phenomenon is sometimes called a "deflagration", although looser usage calls both phenomena "explosions".

Dust explosions may be classified as being either "primary" or "secondary" in nature. Primary dust explosions may occur inside process equipment or similar enclosures, and are generally controlled by pressure relief through purpose-built ducting to the external atmosphere. Secondary dust explosions are the result of dust accumulation inside a building being disturbed and ignited by the primary explosion, resulting in a much more dangerous uncontrolled explosion inside the workplace. Historically, fatalities from dust explosions have largely been the result of secondary dust explosions.

Peicing this together:

1) small fire was being fought in the area of the large "hazardous materials" warehouse.

2) its seems that the HM warehouse ignited and was the first explosion seen on these videos

3) second explosion was the large LNG tank farm right next door to the HM warehouse

4) following, lesser, explosions were other near by materials not on the same scale as the LNG facility

Note to Self: discussion with Central Planners why its probably not a good idea to park an LNG facility NEXT TO a hazardous materials handling warehouse ...

Windows were shattered 3 km (2 miles) away and explosion was heard 50 km away.  One building housing 2,000 migrant workers reportedly collapsed. Casualties will be in the thousands.

It sure looked and felt like a small nuke went off.  But it seems that some explosives went off.  Will we ever know what really happened?

What material detonated has not been confirmed by Chinese authorities, though witnesses reported that there were not chemical fumes in the air, suggesting it may have been stores of explosives.

There is a rumor going around from sources in China that what blew up were munitions and arms headed to Iran.

And you can guess which country (Hint: their intelligence agency motto is 'for by deception, thou shalt do war'.) may have had a hand in the explosion.

And since there are allegations of that same agency setting off a nuke on a fault line off the coast of Japan (Fukushisma) because they were going to send arms to Iran as well...

It's gonna be a big impact on China.  The port of Tianjin is a very important shipping port for them.  It is now wrecked.

BPJ said ... "Google Texas City 1947"   Exactly!  Same sort of problem.  Not exactly the same materials, but definitely some type of explosive chemical, or ordnance shipment.

It is possible that the blast was caused by munitions. But I am skeptical that foreign sabotage would be possible - or likely - in that city.   I think that it's much more likely that this started as some sort of fire.  But the explosives, or explosive chemicals, were stored too close to other flammable sources, and too close to each other.

China will investigate this.  But it's going to take a long time.

In old times the Chinese emperor used to hire eunuchs as attendants for his ladies. It is said that many people castrated themselves to serve as eunuchs (for money). There used to fires in Chinese palaces and it came to known that greedy eunuchs did that (for money, for looting & for dissatisfaction) .
