Nasdaq Drops Below 5,000 'Maginot' Line; S&P Unchanged In 2015

Tyler Durden's picture

The Nasdaq has once again dropped below its crucial "everything is awesome" 5,000 level. This follows The Dow losing 18,000 and The S&P losing 2,100 and is back to unchanged in 2015. Somebody do something!!

Small Caps are notably red year-to-date and The S&P is almost red...

Not quite yet, we're good for another Gallipoli out of the trenches charge. Of course there's the problem of surviving and there will be a lot of bodies littering Wall St. before it truly collapses.....

History's first double depression? After the fictitious depression of 7 years the stock market finally crashes in reality, as the damage is already done and no one remains to uphold the fiction - then the real depression starts. Will it be another 7 years? 7 Talmudic cycles?

Or even 7 to the power of 7? Lagarde may know more than Yellen in regard to that future Herstory.

Winne, The Maginot Line wasn't BS , it was a good defense system for the war that  had just been fought (WWI). Alas, 20 years later, a different war got fought, and a static emplacement that did not allow guns a 360 degree range was not too useful...

Admirals and Generals are always prepared to fight the last war, never the coming one.

The F35 should be renamed the "maginot'.

Its the same folly as relying on carrier groups. The world has moved on in 70 years,

but still the USN is fully ready to refight the same  WWII in the Pacific again.

It will not end well.

It was a heavily fortified alpine line of French redoubts, probably the most modern of its style in history.  The thought was that it would keep zee Germans out, unfortunately they just drove their tanks around it.  I use it as an adjective for abject failure.

Let's try this

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and caldron bubble. Fillet of a fenny snake, In the caldron boil and bake; Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog, Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg and howlet's wing, For a charm of powerful trouble,

Like a hell-broth boil and bubble. Cool it with a baboon's blood, And we'll avoid Noah's flood

Amazing - the consternation & handwringing over a few points drop and a .25 rate hike...  What will it be like when a 'healthy' 10% correction ensues...?   Yep, that's right.   Nothing, because it won't be allowed to happen...
