Initial Jobless Claims Rise For 4 Straight Weeks - First Time In 5 Years
While still hovering at multi-decade lows, initial jobless claims (up 4,000 to 277k) have now risen for 4 straight weeks (for the first time since August 2010).

Anyone still believe these unemployment numbers? There are more jobs, almost all part time jobs with no fringe benefits, no pensions, no nothing. Don't expect television news to cover the bad unemployment situation, TV news is too busy reporting on the weather and accidents and other ephemera. Not the dismal U.S. and world economy or the outbreak of World War III in the Middle East. Notice the fleeting coverage by the nightly news shows that covered the rape-murder by ISIS of American hostage Kayla Mueller? One day and out of the news cycle. Breitbart correctly calls her a Christian martyr. Network news is more concerned with Caitlyn Jenner. Probably following orders from the Oval Office.

Yeah - but this is great news. If we could just eke out a loss every month, think how awesome that would be. The more people out of the workforce and no longer messing things up is only good for THIS economy!
Near the end there were two people left working, and for an entire week neither of them laid off the other and the number of new jobless claims reached zero which had never happened in recorded history, and so they celebrated, and they ate until they could eat no more and they drank until they could not stand, and they sang.
No bad jobs. Good. Here is CNBCs take on it: "The employment trend remains consistent with solid labor market momentum that could keep the Fed on track to raise interest rates this year."

This is just people voluntarily leaving the workforce. They took Yhellins advice and bought up a bunch of high return assets.
We have reached peak everything…now what? Print moar? To infinity and beyond? Austerity? Right, just try to cut all those entitlements. As more jobs disappear, especially in tech, and are replaced by low-paying service jobs, or no jobs at all, even more people will demand government handouts. Another war to distract attention? Wars just drain the economy. Why do we need more aircraft carriers and subs and missiles and bombs, unless we are planning to provoke another war somewhere? The MIC loves wars, gets rid of the surplus population and gives them massive profits. More immigrants to pour in? They will become new consumers and we can party on? Hell, most work cheap, and Americans would rather sit on their fat asses, play with I-Toys and watch “Dancing with The Starts” anyway. Problem solved!
More debt is the bankers’ answer. It will fix everything. Keep rates cheap and companies will buy back shares and well trained brain-dead consumers, will borrow and buy stuff. In effect, buying their jobs. The Fed has left the country totally f***ed. Once again in an effort to re-inflate equities and the property bubbles, unneeded houses and condos are going up everywhere. People are borrowing what they can never pay back. Banks will need bailouts again. Rinse-repeat.
The pyramid has inverted permanently, and now the demand for handouts at the top, exceeds the amount paid in at the bottom. How can a person collect more Social Security benefits than they have paid in, plus any accrued interest? Where will the rest come from? Medicare? One big bill can wipe out everything paid in, plus the interest, then what? Get sick again, who pays the bills? All a Ponzi scheme. EBT cards, 45 million, one in seven people need them? Medicaid for illegals aliens? Go Trump! Tens of thousands of PTSD claims for former service members who were never in combat, never even left the USA? Why not? Never have to work again. Just sit at home and collect a check for the rest of your life.
