There was a point in my life where all I wanted was to be loved and respected, now I no longer care for either. I have given up trying to please other people and walked away from playing the game. Dead to the world, alive to self.
In my experience, I see men preferring respect before love. There is no judgment here just simply my observation.
I love my husband above all others but I respect him as a man first. When he landed a critical account at work that made his company 10 million, I respected his hard work and innovation to do so. When one of his products failed miserably and he took the blame even though it was another's code that was at fault, I respected his handling of that horrible situation. Respect is not conditional. I respect he has greater talents than I in long term planning and budgeting. I respect he is stronger than I am and can do things I physically cannot do. I am just honest with him. There is no game.
Being a scientist makes me ponder about things and it seems to me the relationship between men and women is at an all time low. How much of this is just misunderstanding of our how we think, narcissistic selfish tendencies or complete lack of empathy, I don't know. But I do see men being disrespected so much now and I feel their bitterness. It's palpable where ever I go and very disturbing. Maybe I am just overly sensitive to it.

From this perspective we can see that the more economic and environmental a society becomes the more feminine it becomes. In other words, politics, military, and technology tend to be masculine while culture and economy tend to be feminine (we would understand this better in other languages which have masculine and feminine characteristics based upon the origin and history of the words). This means that capitalism, marxism, and other economics-dominant societies progressively become feminine - and combined with a focus on culture we can see why these societies come to worship the image of women. These systems try to evoke beauty much in the same way a woman's face compels one to see her as soft and to be cared for. It is a strategy invoking sensitivity and signs of the eternal. Just as a beautiful face softens the heart of the most hardened man, the wealthy society softens the ideas of its enemies. The enemies come to want access to its wealth.
I don't think a discussion of the sexes is possible without understanding this, any environment can prefer one sex over the other and it just so happens that this society heavily prefers the feminine attributes. This is why so many men have been emasculated, why gender has confused sex, and why women feel entitled to a moral-free existence at the expense of men. Society has become capricious and ironic. Men build the structures and technologies while women manipulate the wealth and culture therein. And as societies stagnate, when there is no longer room to build, there is nothing left but the feminine manipulation of these spaces - a surrogate of growth is its appearance. Women are the collectivists in modern societies, and men are the individualists.
None of this is to say that women are the fault here, as both men and women can be ideal human beings. Both sexes have their positives, and arguably men are just as much at fault as they attempt to control women through the emasculation of other men. This is only to say that both sexes also have their negatives, and one of them for women is their entitled and biological advantage in regards to sex. Their right to life, their aesthetic which invokes a soft response, encourages weakness and manipulation of all things into that aesthetic. The danger here, whether we are discussing relationships or systems, is that there is a natural tendency towards fiction and aesthetic manipulation of the environment. Or in other words, men can become lost in the aura they create around women, and women may manipulate this aura as they drag you into the forest or into hell.
Women do not love, they receive it and re-emit it. Their collective and either/or nature precludes their potential creation of love, they can only respond in an abstract way to the individual as one part of the community. This is clear in that women's love is always contingent, absolutely dependent upon automatic responses to material and environmental particulars. Either wealth must be there or the culture of the community must be there to remind her of the collective nature of love. Without communities women compete with each other over fewer and fewer men. They are passive nihilists, all seeking the ubermensch, the total man, but have no idea what that really means, nor its creation and consequence. This is due to the paradox of woman, she never discusses particulars but she always holds them close to her heart. She cannot discuss these particulars because it would reveal her weakness and abstraction. And this is her strength. Ask any man and he will tell you that women never forget the particulars - so much so that they make a fiction out of them and destroy everything else with them. That is her weakness.
The ultimate paradox in this is that she is treated as more than human or not human at all. And in each case she is self-destructive. Women are only ever inside, but they only ever reveal the outside. And they demand the complete opposite from men. This tragic misunderstanding of how the world beyond her functions, which is also her own misunderstanding of herself, causes her to continually seek manipulation of the male. She lives vicariously through him. And what is worse, she resents him for it.
This will come off as misogynistic in our age. But the ultimate proof of this is that women will only accept the men who love and respect themselves, whether it is real or a strategy of appearance. Women only love themselves. They do not respect themselves, they must receive that from the community. Men realise that there is no love without respect, so it is a very curious question for men, and it reveals a lot about women that they can separate the two so easily. I'm still a bit in awe of the question really, even though I've known these differences for some time. This is where MGTOW started, I think, in the realisation that this idea of love is a dual-structure in which women do not at all see the ideal side of love, they only receive the practical benefits. And that is the ultimate disrespect.
