Bears Are "Covering" Everywhere, Especially Here
Back in December, Barron's told us that this time it was "different", so not to worry about a crash.
Since then the market is down about 4% for the year, and down 2.4% since the end of QE3, following the biggest intraday market crash (and subsequent violent surge), since Lehman.
It wasn't different after all.
But in a well-worn tradition, where it takes one market-bottoming cover to offset another market-topping cover, here is Bloomberg Businessweek's latest, which shows that bears were were "covering" everywhere in the market yesterday (and continue to do so today), but nowhere perhaps more so than on the front page of the latest issue of Bloomberg's paper publication.

I love when people still refer to this shitshow as a "market".
Sure ... its a market ...

In a real market, you have actual price discovery, not cheap or free fed money chasing everything that ain't nailed down.
What difference does it make?
Thats such a bad photoshop cover - you'd think Barron's would have better designers ...lol

Off Topic: One billion dollars for Zero's presidential complex..... you read that right, not library...... Complex:

Just think of how many shady things he did to pay for those donations
I wonder if it has turret guns and an underground bomb shelter. I bet it does.
I would think that it has Anal lube dispensers for Reggie.
Shouldn't the anti-gun peace prize president have gun free zones?
I am sure that it will be surrounded by a state of the art, high tech wall. You know, to keep out the undesirables...
You mean like shady bath house favors? :

Jesus, why don't we just get the debt slaves to build him a fucking Egyptian-style pyramid?
Shovel ready jobs!
But "jobs americans won't do." When the history books are written they'll note that Obama's Royal Pyramids were build on the backs of wetbacks. No wonder he wants open borders. Those things require a lot of labor to put together.
Funny. I keep hearing that Americans won't do that type of work, but they sure don't mind digging through the dumpsters to survive.
There are just some jobs the wetbacks won't do.
Do you know that neighborhood in Chicago? Look up "63rd and Cottage Grove Chicago" for some idea of the 'hood.
They are going to need a small army to keep that place "protected"
Maybe they were 'covering' like Adam of Adam & Eve fame, loincloth barely hiding his excitement ...
So that's it then...the new greatest super bull market in history has just begun.
"Bears" and "Bulls" are a Pavlovian labeling device to maintain the delusion of a "market"; much like "Republican" and "Democrat".

I just love the picture of bears.
The PPT is working hard, but the markets are frothy as hell. I think they can bend it for bit longer, but Jackson Hole is coming up and the algo's will be reading headlines, so nobody say anything that might be construed as saying anything.......
I am thinking we are red by the end of the day and a blood bath tomorrow by the end of the day.
Bear markets have been outlawed. Sellers will be sent to FEMA camps.
So what is this article saying? Is the bloomberg cover defacto calling a local bottom? Are there no more decent editors anywhere anymore?
What, no polar bears - the biggest and baddest of them all, by a wide margin...? Holding out for something, are they...?
The polar bears are too busy reproducing. Despite what the "believers" of the church of Global Laming would have you think.
Old News... Market's UP
Yogi Bear is smarter than the average bear,
Yogi Bear is always in the ranger's hair.
At a picnic table you will find him there
Stuffing down more goodies than the average bear.
He will sleep till noon but before it's dark,
He'll have every picnic basket that's in Jellystone Park.
Yogi has it better than a millionaire
That's because he's smarter than the average bear.
It's spelled "pic-a-nic"...
Tyler, you need to change your thesis to a very long-term bullish market outlook. Stop turning every headline into bad news. You simply cannot defeat the central banks and TPTB.
Doctor! Now I feel better!

Does anybody remember the port strike? I do.
Remember the billions of dollars in inventory stuck in LA for months that couldn't get out to stores. Things meant for Q2 in stores that never even got to the distribution channels until Q2. Inventory that can;t be sold for the most part because it is out of season.
Guess what. It will never be sold and all that forward booked and borrowed money to pay for that inventory will never be paid for. There is a total collapse in the commerce chain right now. Vendors aren't being paid, retailers are way behind in actual sales, inventory levels are sky high and liquidations have already begun.
There is no break even date for retail this year. There is also a major reason why trade has collapsed. If you are a vendor and haven't been paid, you can't place orders for more inventory.
Certain retail accounts owe the company I work for $3.5 million total between them. The invoices were supposed to be paid at the end of May, it is now September. Does anyone else know what happens to a company when that kind of cash flow disappears?
But no. The economy is going gangbusters because the DOW is soaring again and the government pushes out a total BULLSHIT GDP print.
I guess that explains the mid-yr collapse in trade and shipping data, thanks
Deez market iz nuts.
What a rally! Adjusted for inflation*, the Dow is right where it was at its high in 1999.
*using BLS CPI calculator, which means markets are actually negative from 1999 high when accounting for real inflation
Growth is dead, IMO. Traders make money, long-term investors lose money to inflation and market corrections.
Unfortunately, fools like myself who went to cash in our 401k long ago lose a lot more. Wish I had cashed out and bought a small farm.
