How Trump Continues To Lead In The Polls

Tyler Durden's picture

Recent polls indicate that, despite public outcry against his incendiary comments on women and minorities, Donald Trump is still the leading Republican candidate.

Here are some reasons Trump stays so popular with his supporters:

  • Highly relatable lack of qualifications for holding government office
  • Americans’ appreciation for classic underdog story of man who started with only several hundred million dollars and went on to make several billion dollars
  • Only candidate to publicly state willingness to make America great again
  • Exploits other Republican candidates’ weaknesses by allowing them to open their mouths and speak on issues
  • Very, very handsome
  • Voters eager to see presidential library with three infinity pools and rooftop driving range
  • Bolstered by impassioned endorsement from Donald Trump
  • Eccentric, megalomaniac billionaire still more relatable to average American than anyone willing to dedicate life to politics
  • Appeals to widespread desire to see nation implode sooner rather than later

it is indeed. I found each of those bullet points to be mostly based in reality. Its interesting to see how most ZHers(not yourself, obviously) have become single issue voters on the immigration issue. The new mantra is apparently "I don't care how much you grow govt or how much worse the police state gets as long as you get rid of the illigal immigrants"

The anti-war crowd on here is also pretty silent on his STATED INTENTIONS to reinvade Iraq, along with syria and Iran. So much for the libertarians, i guess. Kinda reminds me of how silent the anti-war left has been for the last 6 years of obama. I guess as long as its "your guy" doing it, its ok...

Trump plays the part that many 'merican men want to be (with all its bluster), but aren't, because said men are cowards. In short, regardless of whether this clown holds any political office, it will be business as usual in 'merica because of the simple fact that 'merican men are cowards.

The reason Trump is killing it is simple.  In most companies, the boss is usually a dick.  That's how he got to be the boss.  So Trump is a dick, but he's a boss, and that's what we need right now.  No one is scared of Obama, and we have scary times coming up in this country.  We need someone who truly does not give a fuck.

I can truthfully say that I am amped up beyond belief to be experiencing the oncoming rush of what is shaping up-to-be one for the record books, a real lollipop loser of an election season, the historic 2016 Presidential race. On the Democratic side, Ex-Senator and Secretary of state Hillary Clinton and Senator Barney Sanders are contending for position, with Vice-President Joe Biden lurking in the wings, licking his chops for signs of the slightest weakness.

On the Republican side, the frontrunner & ten-billion dollar baby Mr. Donald Trump, making his way like a gorilla in their midst, leads the Republican field against Ex-Governor Jeb! “Veto Corleone” Bush (as he prefers to be known), the darling of Wall Street who has raised more money than any other candidate thus far. Mr. Bush’s only problem is his very, very low energy levels, which — although the Gipper might have a few things to say about that — is usually not considered a prime asset in vying for the presidency. There are also a gaggle of other also-rans, such as Senator ‘Rand’ Paul, whom Mr. Trump rightly called out as being unable to win. Senator Paul can’t even win a golf game against Mr. Trump. This is very telling. We need a winner in the White House, someone who can go head to head with Putin in a tough negotiation.

Mr. Trump has accepted the offer of Mr. Carl Icahn to be his Secretary of the Treasury, which is a big endorsement in itself. Mr. Icahn knows a few things about money.

Mr. Trump has come out against a flat tax, one of Senator Rand’s crackpot schemes. In contrast, Mr. Trump wants a progressive system, with steeper rates even than we have now, where the rich are taxed much, much more than the poor. This seems like the fairest system to me. The rich should pay more in taxes considering how much they benefit from the infrastructure that taxes provide. As President Obama has so justly pointed out, ‘You didn’t build that yourself.’ In addition, its indisputable that a flat tax would be a job-killer, no question. Thus, advocates of such a plan are simply either cynical manipulators of public opinion or fools, take your pick.

Another thing on the horizon is the political event taking place in D.C. next month and organized by Senator Ted Cruz (another hopeful) alongside Mr. Trump in opposition to the Iran nuclear deal. This sends a great message for both men who correctly see through Iran’s intentions to cheat on the nuclear deal and thus plunge the entire Middle East into further chaos. Ted Cruz for VP on a Trump ticket anyone? A team truly made in Heaven.

I particularly like the tough Trump stance on illegal immigration. He has pledged to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. How is Mr. Trump going to do this, you ask. Simple. Take their oil. I know he said he would do that with ISIS by bombing the hell out of them first. And he could do that, seriously. But Mexico is closer and they are sending in too many of their criminals across the border. What we need instead is a comprehensive solution to the immigration problem. We absolutely do need more immigrants coming here to lend their skills and valuable knowledge, increase our tax revenues and become hardworking Americans, but not if it is to be done illegally by coming here and having anchor babies to attain U.S. citizenship. That is absolutely the wrong way to go about it! As you can probably tell, I’m really psyched about Mr. Trump’s candidacy. I haven’t quite decided but I think he would make a great president!

Not doing anything at all, as you said, would be hugely preferable to growing the police state(how else do you expect the US govt to round up 15 million people all over the US? and once those  govt agencies grow, they will NEVER shrink back to their original size), grow the military industrial state, launch another ground war that is guaranteed to add a few trillion more the the national credit card, and ramp up the war on whistleblowers.

So, yes, if doing nothing is optional, Ill take that

I have a better correction.

The military is not on your side, and it is not on "their" side. They are their own side.

I'm fairly certain if something goes down, most of the troops in our military will slaughter their officers, and roam the countryside doing whatever they want with tanks, mortars, gun-boats, naval vessels, nuclear subs, aircraft, forklifts, etc.

What, you seriously think the military will follow Hussein Obama and John McStain? Or Trump? Or anybody? If this shitshow finally hits the fan, I don't think the military will recognize their oath to a non-entity (the former United States).

Fuck, just talk to people in law enforcement and the military. The muscle is getting fed up with politics AND the people. They don't care about anybody else but the "thin blue line", and to hell with everyone else. The signs are already there.

When carpet bombing began in earnest over Germany and Japan there was no fear of killing innocent people. It's the same in the Middle East. ISIS is murdering everyone that does not follow their brand of 'Religion' so everyone becomes a target in ISIS controlled areas. This is also the reason Obama wants Iran to have a nuclear bomb. That is not been the case in my experience. A wide and varied range of legal immigrants sympathize with anyone trying to get out of a hopeless or dangerous situation and into the U.S.
I tried to find a legal immigrant who would be willing to go on camera to discuss how they worked hard to get citizenship and are dismayed that others cheated their way into the States. Not a single one would do it. They all sympathized and were supportive of illegals.

I'll take your personal experience and bank it! They don't want to go on camera personally and denounce members of their own race? That seals it - consider contacting Gallup and teling them not bother this this question any longer, since you have figured it out with your personal experience. Their survey respondents are obviously lying - all immigrants want wave after wave of undocumented workers coming in, who will work for leas and live in worse circumstances. It's the recipe for success.

the supreme court to clarify whether simply being born here gives you citizenship - the current policy, although certainty not the intent of the amendment being used to support it. If ruled constitutional, I would push for an amendment to reverse that.

Most of this opinion is shared by a very good friend of mine who immigrated here as an adult.

I am especially pissed off at the "press for English" and signs and literature in Spanish. I made an effort to learn English, and did not expect any special favors.

I don't disagree with your experience. But the immigrants who came here legally seem to sympathize with illegals. I have asked S.Americans, Mexicans and Indians(Asians). I would not consider a 2, 3 or 4th generation Mexican a legal immigrant. They are American by birth, not immigrants. Even so, upto 65% of Americans surveyed support some kind of amnesty (the polling questions are vague). When I ask more questions so as to get a clearer idea of how they are thinking I arrive at the "there but for the grace of God go I" theory. Which is to say, they imagine themselves as very lucky to be a citizen and would wish no ill will to those that didn't make it here legally. Imagine a freed slave being jealous or spiteful to a runaway slave. This is how they feel. Ask a few legal immigrants these difficult questions and see what results you get. I am not sure how the polls selected their participants or if the group was biased somehow. Dozens of polling surveys are in the links above.

This issue is extremely unimportant to me. We were discussing this issue with regard to Trump's supposed popularity. It is exciting that he can be successful against the establishment. This is promising in one way. But it also worries me about the quality of the electorate. His supporters only seem to be motivated by hatred against another group of people. Whether or not they deserve it is really not the issue. Electing someone out of hate seems dangerous when viewed from a historical context. Trump understands this base emotion and takes advantage of it to the point where he proposes impractical solutions. How will we pay for the wall? Through tariffs. We will tax Mexican imports so much that we can build a tall wall for hundred of miles and populate it with technology, sentries, vehicles, jails of some sort, I suppose, etc. Mexican imports are plentiful enough to do this? Walls are tall enough to keep people out? Does Expanding a para military/police force attached to DHS seems like a good solution to you?
He is quick to offer tariffs as a solution to other problems such as industry relocating to other other countries (Oreo cookies, automobiles). Tariffs have historically been a prelude to war. He is quick to say how he would order corporations to do certain things to appease his supporters. These three examples of what he does defines Trump as a fascist. There are more things, too. But I am tired of typing. Have a nice Saturday!

He's unlikely to "win the Hispanic vote" but more will vote for him than most expect.

Because yes - many people who broke the law to get on a life boat have no problem shoving other people's heads below the water.

Then you have the Ramos types who give only a shit about their fellow ethnics, but will cry racism when anyone else does the same.

I don't have a position other than lots of unskilled foreign language speakers dont seem to be great for the country or working class although I've read theories from economists claiming its all good.

The fact few people are talking about a middle ground, practical solution that will secure the borders while dealing practically and humanely with people who have worked, paid taxes, and not committing crimes tells you that American politics perpetually excludes the middle.

Of course, its either Left or Right, Red or Blue for most people.

The result of that is no compromise, gridlock, and sophomoric thinking.

Calling the other guy an idiot or racist or whatever may feel good - but its basically just a waste of energy and time.

Donald Trump: Mental health, not gun problem

2010 Gun FACTS:

11,078 deaths by homicide

6,093 (55%) were African Americans; representing 13% of the US Population

2,770 (25%) were White; representing 65% of the US Population

1,883 (17%) were Hispanic; representing 16% of the US Population

Top 3 States:

#1 is California with 1257

#2 is Texas with 805

#3 is New York with 517

These 3 states represent 23% of all murders even though they represent the Right and Left extremes of “gun control”. Could it be that weak/strong "guns laws" are neither the cause nor the solution to gun murders?

A Little Math and Food for Thought:

The estimated total number of firearms available to civilians in the United States is approximately 310 million

310,000,000 / 11,078 = 27,983…..if we (wrongly assume) one firearm  for each murder, that equates to ONE gun out of every 27,983 in circulation ends up murdering someone.

Let’s assume, I think fairly, an average of 2 murders per gun used in homicides.

Is one GUN out of every 55.966 a murderer, or is one PERSON out of every 55,966 a nutjob/criminal that, even without a gun, is hell bent on killing people and would do so even if they had zero access to a gun?

Ban all guns and confiscate every last one…smugglers would then only need to “import” 5,539 guns to get our annual murder number back to 11,078!

And for anyone that thinks we can halt the illegal flow of guns into the USA, I say, take a look at our success at keeping out drugs.

No need to import guns. Anyone with a drill press, grinder, hammer, and files can make sub-machine guns in their garage. The reason for making sub-machine guns is they are the cheapest and easiest to make. Everything is made from stock metal shapes such as square tubing and round bar stock. Even the springs required are easily fabricated using a drill press or even hand winding over a mandrill. Ask any machinist and he or she will confirm that as most of us have made them just to show how easy it's done. Governments all over the world made them in the millions during WWII because they were so cheap and easy to produce. The perfect example is the so called 'Grease Gun' M3 sub-machine gun adopted by the US Army in WWII.

Trump is a "K" dealing with "r's". He is a mastermind at the game. What is a "K" vs "r" you ask?

  • What are r and K?

r and K come from evolutionary ecology, where they describe two fundamental psychologies seen in nature, designed to adapt an organism to either a glut or a shortage.

Rabbits are r-strategists, designed to exploit free resources, like fields of grass. The five psychological traits inherent to the r-strategy are docility/conflict-avoidance, promiscuity/non-monogamy, single-mom'ing, early sexualization of young, and no loyalty to a competitive in-group. All help this glut-exploiting psychology to out-reproduce everyone else.

Wolves are K-strategists, designed for when resources are too limited for everyone to survive. The five traits of a K-strategist are competitiveness/ aggressiveness/protectiveness, competitive mate monopolization/ monogamy, high-investment two-parent rearing, only mating when mature, and high loyalty to one's competitive in-group. All these traits either help you win, or produce fitter offspring, so they will win.

Our political battle is one between a glut-exploiting reproductive strategy of rabbits and a shortage-surviving reproductive strategy of wolves. All of politics and much of history are r vs K.

This guy has it figured out if you want to know more. He is a Trumpista though. I am not sure I am but I would vote for the fucker over any other of the "r's" out there. They have no idea what/why this is happening to them as they don't realize the whole K vs r strategy and neither do the voters. Voters love Trumps's K ability but they cannot tell you why succinctly as they don't understand K vs r but they sub conciously follow it.

Before reading him, you need to know what the Amygdala is and does. It is basically what makes you happy or enrages you. From wikipedia.org . ya gotta read about it being displayed to really get a feel about how this organ controls subconcious emoting, imho.

The amygdalae (singular: amygdala; /??m??d?l?/; also corpus amygdaloideum; Latin, from Greek ????????, amygdal?, 'almond', 'tonsil'[1]), listed in Gray's Anatomy as the nucleus amygdalæ, are two almond-shaped groups of nuclei located deep and medially within the temporal lobes of the brain in complex vertebrates, including humans.[2] Shown in research to perform a primary role in the processing of memory, decision-making, and emotional reactions, the amygdalae are considered part of the limbic system.[3]

Putting aside that the Tylers post many articles here for clicks and not because they agree with them (they are in business and clicks mean $$), the Tylers also may not like Trump because he's a statist.  In his case, you don't even need to confuse what he says with what he does.  He says he wants moar war, a bigger military (I guess world's most expensive isn't good enough), he supports the Fed, he supports gun control, and he supports government intervention in trade.   Some of his views I agree with, most I don't.   I suspect the same goes for the Tylers, but then again they like the Mises Institute so who knows what's going on up in there.

Are you implying that Trump is NOT a statist? (he is very much into big government)

As far as "ignoring the TPTB" I think it's quite a stretch to think that Trump isn't in someone's pocket.  His Zionist boot-licking alone is pretty hard to stomach, and to think he might try to reign in the criminals on Wall Street or the Banksters is laughable - they're "his" kinda people.  Frankly, he's more of the same with a few tweaks here and there ... moar war, moar tyranny, moar looting of the American people, moar out of control government .... same as it ever was.

If he was truly "anti-establishment" they wouldn't be giving him the media coverage he's getting - it's that simple.

What would Trump have done with Lois Lerner and Koskinen at the IRS?

What would Trump have done when the EPA perpetrated environmental disaster?

What would Trump have done when his "red line" on chem weapons was crossed?

What would Trump have done with Kathy Archuleta and the OPM debacle?

What would Trump have done when his sec state got hacked by the Chinese and Russians?

What would Trump have done with Keystone XL?

What would Trump have done for the rioters in Ferguson?

What would Trump have done with the 99%ers "occupying" public property?

Take a wild fucking guess in each instance, and I am sure you will be close.  Thus the beauty of Trump.

What would Trump have done about 9/11?

What would Trump have done about the banker bailout?

What kind of conclusions can you draw if you only look at part of a set of data?

How valid would those conclusions be?

Trump 1-4, 4 is a minimum and we don't know how he would react.

1. He calls them Leaches, cancels Bailout 2008
2. He see the cost of Fighting people without Armies, Navies, Air forces, Hubs, Ports, Government Offices... a farce and says no to war on Iraq and limits Afghanistan Expenses and cost, and states that is is impossible to justify mobilizing an Army to fight shadows
3. He calls for Audit... Demands Private Industries, Stock Markets, Banks, Corporations all consent to complete auditing to expose the direction of the country and planned terror
4. I forgot

Look at our 21st century democratically elected civilian leaders.

Trump is the exact opposite.

I am drawing no conclusions.  I am illustrating Trump's appeal.  To paraphrase George C. Scott's Patton:  You son of a bitches know where I stand.

Cynical, but I feel Trump would have an "accident" if he didn't do as he was told like the rest of the recent Losers in Chief have done. ......
