The US economy can afford to completely normalize rate. Sure, more small businesses will fail, more independent banks will fail, states will fail, people will lose their houses but the country will survive and be better off in 3 years ... especially if they use the time to normalize everything else because more will pop up to take the place of the failed.
Return the rule of law.
End the corruption.
Stop misallocation.
Can the politicians and parasites actually do that? IMO, no, they do not have the moral fortitude to do it.
