Bernie Sanders Blasts "The Business Model Of Wall Street Is Fraud"
Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

During a recent interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Bernie Sanders exclaimed: “I think the business model of Wall Street is fraud.”
Basically. Unfortunately, it will never change until serious jail sentences are handed out for the serious fraud, as opposed to taxpayer bailouts.
Watch the interview here. Is it really surprising that he’s close to catching Wall Street handler Hillary Clinton?

He better stay away from nail guns
Unfortunately, Sanders is a socialist. So all his talk about how bad our financial system is really is pointless. You can't have the huge welfare system without a central bank printing an endless supply of money.
We need to end the Fed. It is our biggest problem. Most other problems stem from this evil establishment. There is only one candidate who understands this, and its not Bernie or Trump!
This is one of the problems when the world goes insane, it makes the insane look sane.
We are conditioned to hate socialism for people but we sure love us some corporate socialism
Who is we, Kimosabee?
Ill always remember Bernie as the last and deciding vote for Obamacare. Sorry, Bernie, just like your viewpoints on Israel, and 'Climate Change': Wrong Answer!
He is right about Wall St.
However, he would still be opposed to the concept even if it was run honestly.
But his solution is regulations, aka more government bureaucracy. Ending the Fed is the solution.
As a staunch liberal, I respect the good Jewish socialist senator from Vermont...but he better not fuck with Hillary's chances or we'll fuck him up!
Bernie you misogynist motherfuc...Oh, wait. I'm getting ahead of myself. Must wait for further instructions from Team Blue.
Guys you are confusing "the bread and circus" aka the free stuff with socialism.
PS: I'm against handing out free stuff, especially for banks from central banks.
Know what socialism is? It is Barry telling Medvedev that he will be more flexible after the election. It is Russian Speznaz/UN troops starting the forrest fires in WA and setting up camps around the US for the coming "invasion" (they are already here). It is the laughable false-flag "shootings" designed to overthrow the Second Amendment (the latest even featuring moar Parker crisis actors AHAHAHAH). It is the coming genocide of those they disagree with. Molon Labe

Yes, the powerful Russian military is coming to get you BUHUHUHUHU. I know that this site is calling conspiracy theories, but this one is just a bit over the top. The Russian army has never fought past their border countries except with Germany during WW2 after Germany invaded. They sent military help though. Also active military is 1.5m USA and 0.75m Russia. The only areas where Russia has superiority are NUMBER of tanks (which includes a few Armata which should be better than Abrahms, but a lot of T70-80s which can't fight Abrahms equaly while T90s might be able to do something but not much) and deep submarines. Corvettes as well, but these are only useful for defence against submarines and air attacks. Hence Russia's might is built around defending entirely. If USA invades Russia in a non nuclear engagement that means, they got tanks to fight the most massive battles ever over flat terrain in Europe, submarines to destroy carriers and corvettes against submarines and planes + S300. To invade, they got nothing. And they would not let their guard down. If you are afraid of invasion on American soil, you should be scared only of Americans. Possible Chinese as they got ~5m active and reserves.
Or perhaps Metallica called it right and this is how it goes down :D. I don't really think so.

As for socialism, it is a natural reaction to a time of inability to expand and ability to overproduce. Anarcho capitalism was good for the time of exploration and settling the new world and it will be the best system for space colonization if we reach that age.
Yup. I live in Cal and can confirm that Russian troops are here. Going down I-5 on my way to work one morning I saw a small convoy parked on the shoulder just south of the Pocket Road interchange in Sac, and there were about 20 of them stretching in the grass next to the golf course fence. All very fair-skinned white males with prominent, full lips and adam's apples. I've been to Russia and they were definitely Russian. Wearing general US army fatigues. And: those fires we recently had just north of us? The Rocky fire etc...well, I read in the news that 'several suspects were apprehended; arson suspected.' Since then, *NO* further word on this. Someone is quieting it up.
This shit is REAL. Prepare accordingly.

It is frightening that people show up by the thousands for this clown. He openly says he wants to tax 80-90% of everyone's income! Unreal.
(shakes head). It's the socialist way: WE know best what to do with YOUR money. God help us
He never said he'd tax EVERYONE 80-90%.
I think he gets it on a few important issues, but the guy is loony tunes on others, as are most politicians.
Free Healthcare, how's that working out for ya Bernie? So now he wants free tuition? Can you imagine the chaos in College classes when everyone has the "right" to attend college?
Climate change, really? It's nothing but an excuse for a UN enforced world tax, a carbon credit scheme, a rationing fraud were billionaires tell the people how many squares of tissue we're allowed to whip our ass with, while they jet about the world on our dime lecturing us.
Funny he rails against Wall Street while kissing Obama's ass, a Wall Street cabana boy...
All that matters in this election is, where do they stand on ending the FED and transparency in government?
As long as there's a hidden wizard pulling the strings behind a curtain, we'll continue this fraud of enslaving the masses to benefit the chosen few.
Free tuition should not grant everyone access to a college automatically. There would be minimum standards like high school grades and entry tests, like in any other country, which have literally zero tuition fees. And if you don't perform at college, you have to leave or get a second chance elsewhere. It would encourage students to work hard and give advantage to the smart and not the rich.
Those standards would be to get into the universities. The Junior colleges and others would have no such standards! And when they flunk out the excuses would abound and exceptions made for anyone who wanted to continue there "education" at an alternative school.
"It would encourage students to work hard and give advantage to the smart and not the rich."
If tuition is free there's no incentive to work hard. If it comes out of your own pocket your more likely to spend your time in College wisely!
The idea that everyone needs to go to College is born from the fact free public education has failed the kids and they emerge dumb as rocks and mostly unemployable in anything other then minimum wage jobs!
The US education system is a mess anyway, but for a reason. What students here have to learn at college, students in Europe already got in high school. In most European countries people go directly from high school to university.
>If tuition is free there's no incentive to work hard.
If the school does not make the free tuition dependent on performance, then yes. But they could do it like in other countries.
>If it comes out of your own pocket your more likely to spend your time in College wisely!
I guess most spend the money of others (parents or students loans) anyway.
> The idea that everyone needs to go to College
I did not say that. But it makes sense if all the talented can go and performance is stimulated - it's a question of productivity and competitiveness internationally.
So now he wants free tuition? Can you imagine the chaos in College classes when everyone has the "right" to attend college?
Bet ya in many countries that could be said about elementary education. If we were smart, as a country, we'd educate these kids so when they got out of High School they'd be ready for the job market instead of having to sign over their first born just to go to college.
I agree,
In addition I contend the dumbing down of our kids in K-12 is purposeful, to require more schooling, to enable the Student Loan Bubble!
The easy money student loan bubble is the number one cause of rising tuition costs. If the Students and Parents are not seeing the real cost up front, hidden by easy and often deceptive finance, the providers of the education become bloated profit centers and a viscous cycle feeds itself.
When your paying for it yourself or at least not being spoon fed loans you are more discerning about were and if you further your education.
Which of these Countries, that have free education, produce a free and prosperous people? The EU countries are a wreck, Socialists are running out of other people's money and the US is blowing the largest Government Bubble the world has ever seen, by taking over Health Care, and America is home to the most propagandized people on the planet!
Why is it any of the Governments business stealing my money to educate your kids?
We have lost sight of history and been blinded by the days propaganda.
More Government is the problem, not the answer!
It's not only about student loans, this is how the education industry makes money.
Free and profit do not add up. Unless you remove the profit motive entirely, free anything becomes just another boondogle for the powerful.
If producing smart kids were the goal of the "richest Country in the world" they would be producing smart high school grades. Those are few, and usually inspite of their "free" education.
As a pretty big Bernie supporter myself, I've wanted to write a piece for a while now on why I don't support the idea of free college. Free healthcare I can get behind, I mean if we stop enabling cronies and stop building bazillion dollar planes that don't work - I'm sure we could find the money. I don't think healthcare is a right, but I think there are certain things that the richest country in the world in the most advanced time in history should simply be able to provide.
Anyways free college: 1) I don't agree there's a skills gap, I don't think that more education is the real answer to our problems. College debt in itself isn't a problem Necessarilly, the real problem is that students are being sold the idea that their college degree will buy them a job that will pay for the debt and a decent life. The debt is clearly too high, but the real problem is the lack of jobs and wages. 2) How much longer will college as a building you go to be the best form of education? We're quickly moving to a society in which one must be able to adapt to the possibility that their day to day could change dramatically on a regular basis or even their entire career eliminated. Technology is just changing too fast to invest so much in a single study. We should be teaching people to learn on their own, utilize online classes and mentorship and self-teaching through tutorials etc. Alternate forms of education are springing up all over and the value of a proper college education is becoming mroe and more ambiguous. 3) Automation and the changing job landscape may render any efforts towards education pointless.
I would agree, if we were the richest country in the world. We're not even close.
We're the largest debtor nation in the world and the reason most countries have followed suit in this scheme to entangle all countries so if we go down they all go down.
It's a racket!
But USA #1 just ask anyone :)
Ending the Fed will take care of corporate welfare problem too. End the Fed and replace it with free markets (not another central bank). Rand is the only candidate that is anti-fed.
It was Bernie who after helping Ron Paul write a bill for a full audit of the FED, then turned on him and replaced the bill for a watered down version when it reached the Senate.
It was Bernie who killed Ron Paul's Audit of the FED!
Ron paul explains
As much as I like Bernie, yeah I really wish he had someone like Ron Paul as VP to balance him out. Just two crazy old white dudes who are different kinds of crazy. Hopefully we get the best of them both?
Wall Street runs congress because the elite vote and fucks do not.
Supposedly, basic socialism is essential industries and businesses being controlled by the state for the supposed benefit and common welfare of society as a whole.
If the state is controlled by essential industries and businesses, and is privatizing gains, while socializing losses, for the benefit of a corporatist oligarchy, what do we
have? Defacto fascism? So ask your self, do you want to be hit in the head with a stick or a rock. Do you want to be sodomized by a blue muppet or a red puppet?
You are 100% correct. What is sad is that a socialist, Bernie, and a fascist, Donald, are leading the polls.
We need to reduce the size and scope of government. Ending the Fed would stop the never ending printing press the welfare (corporate and social) candidates need to 'fund' their schemes.
So the Donald is now a fascist because he wants the U.S. to enforce immigration laws and control the borders like every other country on the planet does?
Definition of fascism: governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc.
The U.S. already has a Marxist dictator in the White House who makes up laws and edicts with his pen and phone.
No Trump is a fascist because he wants corporations to run the government. Fascism is the corporate control of the government. He has provided countless examples of his fascist belief system. Like invading syria and sending in the oil companies. Or buying politicians.
Were you asleep over the last 50 years? Corporations already run the government. Trump just tells, how it is and he has no problem with that - that's to his credit very honest.
No. I've been paying attention. I realize that corporations already control the government. Trump would continue to let the corporate America rule over us. Trump would provide much of the same laws and regulations that are written by corporations, instead of congressmen.
At least you realize what you are getting with Trump. Further corporate takeover of our rights.
Bernie Sanders is a Communnist. He would take from the rich and give to the State. Really, it is hard to choose- A Sanders presidency in which he would be party Chairman and institute a totalitarian Communist regime, or a Trump presidency, in which Trump would become a fascist dictator. The last time we had an "outsider" running for office, he won, and now look where we are.
Last time I checked there were about 20 candidates still in the race. Now, almost all of them are statists, but there is a choice other than those two. Do not let the media and polls decide who you can/should vote for.
Don't vote for someone because he can win. Vite for someone because when he wins he will represent you and your beliefs.
Of course if it does come down to those two, then you can stay home or write someone in as a protest vote.
Write in Rand Paul. His campaign slogan should be, "I'm not my dad, but I'm as close as you'll fucking get!" Possibly leave out the F-word,
however at least he'd get some press coverage.
No need to write in. He will be on the ballot in every state this winter/spring.
He is as close to his dad as you can get. That is why the MSM is giving him the same treatment: blackout. So even dropping an F-bomb wouldn't give him any attention. He will continue to get the least amount of time on the national debates, even though he is the only one with something different and constructive to say.
I was skipping forward to the general for the write in. In terms of the primary, he'll probably get "Diebolded" like his old man
if previous exit poll results are to be believed.
But neither of them can get elected. The average voter doesn't understand what they are talking about. Might as well be speaking Latin. Have you EVER successfully explained to anyone how money = debt?
What makes you think voting still matters to the outcome of elections in the US?
McCormick.....yes yes yes.....I heard from someone who heard from someone who saw it on the internet that bernie and his followers don't kiss babies on the campaign trail.....but eat them raw and uncooked!!!!!! stop bernie mccormick
good grief
"We are conditioned to hate socialism"
By who? The Banksters? The GOVT? The Media?
Alarm Clock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time to Wake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
exactly.........banksterism is socialism.........as banks peddle DEBT
Agreed, it all boils down to how big your "society" is, and which end of the stick is offered to your strata.
We are all socialists in some sense of the word; it's just that some get more socialization than others.
Between corporate, crony welfare and standard, less fortunate welfare, the middle class is becoming an anemic
turnip.
They'll take a non-event like the "Dean Scream" and then lockstep report in on MSNBCBSFox as if it is damning proof and the sheeple will put up two skull and bones candidates.
I thought Dean was a douche and would not want him as president, but I never understood the criticisms over that "scream".
Yeah, a socialist ranting like this...how shocking! LOL!
And yes, the Fed should be ended, everything else is dependent upon that. After that, the bloated bureaucracy needs to go away.
And neither will go peacefully.
Dammit! I know socialism will work. We just need to try one more time!
Actually socialism will work. But! But the parameters are pretty narrow. The first and primary requirement is that everyone involved is 100% committed to exactly the same program. This is why some communes survive.
The one requirement to make socialism fail is having just one person not 100% committed. That will lead to failure eventually.
As such, socialism can only work in a voluntary setting. Any other means by which socialism is forced upon the unwilling is bound for the floor or a bloodbath.
Nobody will ever bring this up in a debate on national TV. If they did, we'd have technical difficulties faster than you can say, "And now this message from our sponsors..."
Y'all are mixing up "socialism" as a system with "socialist'. Socialism is a social system. Socialist is a position.
Socialism is not on the agenda, and Bernie's program is not socialism. A transaction tax on bond, stock and derivative sales is socialism? A program to rebuild our highways and electrical grid is socialism? Get over it!
Bernie gave a very clear definition of "socialist" the other day, and what it means to him, when he stated that he is always, 100%, on the side of America's working and middle class, and he evaluates every position he takes in that light. Which as far as I can tell is true.
"Socialism" will be on the table when the economy is in a state of collapse, the smoke is clearing and the people are desperately trying out ways of getting economic activity moving again so they don't starve to death. It will be a creation of the American people. What that will look like will depend in part on whether ZH readers stood with them on the barricaides and can bring your skills and ideas to the table as trusted partners.
Until the Fed is eliminated it is our only problem. Sadly, I do not believe that will happen until we hit bottom... and we ain't there yet...
He is for drones and endless wars for Deep State. PNAC and AIPAC. Is he a member of AIPAC? Sadly, Trump is the same.
Isn't bailing out the banks socialism at it's worst? We do not have capitalism anymore. If we did then the FED would not have loaned $16 TRILLION to banks and big bussines that would have failed from their own stupidity. Welfare apparently is better suited to big banks in your world realmoney2015
Is that one candidate Rand ? I heard his father talk about the fed, but havent heard him talk about it much.
I coulda missed it, though. I really no longer pay attention to what national level politicians say.
Yes, he was given many speeches about the Fed like this one https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LMdTr00J2Zc
He also list auditing the Fed on his site as one of the key issues he is running on.
"Unfortunately, Sanders is a socialist."............................Exactly. After seeing this article, I was thinking the same thing. If he doesn't talk about ending the Federal Reserve, then nothing he says is serious. The Fed is the root of the problem. It prints the money and govt loves it's "counterfeit printing press". It can vote to bail out out banks they want, bail out failing businesses, sit back and receive lobby money that most likely came from the Fed's money-printing. Socialists want to redistribute wealth but when the wealth is gone, let's just call the central bank and print the money. Either he isn't serious or he doesn't understand that. The Fed is printing money for the "nanny to grave" welfare state, bailouts (of American AND foreign banks), funding wars, etc. And you're absolutely right. Only one understand this and it isn't Bernie nor Trump. Thank you for saying that.
But you have to admit, that with a socialist for the people a majority would "benefit" from the printing press and not only Wall St.
you are missing the fact that the core message Sanders supports - 70% of the points - is the same as............. Trump -
right / left is the same - socialism mantra is a diversionary side show
i think the establishment is going to hijack "both" conventions - they will have no choice
He is only pointing out that the the business model is a simple ranching operation. Fleece the sheep. Bring them along until you can make the most $$$ on them.
Funny how optimistic people were about retirement and spending in the months leading up to the tech bust.
Funny how after the tech bust, everyone thought that since the got clobbered in the market they would now use real estate as a retirement asset.
Funny how_________________________________
etc.
These are engineered events people. WAKE UP!!!!
Although I agree with your statements about the Fed, your comment about Sanders being a socialist is misleading. We currently exist under a system that requires an endless supply of money from money printing. This is the result of Western capitalism. What Sanders promotes is a system like they have in the Scandanavian countries. People do pay higher taxes but they are used for the benefit of society. The end result is a higher degree of happiness and much better education, health, and retirement systems in those societies. This is not up for debate. What we are force fed here is democratic socialism is very bad and will cause economic catastrophe. But you have to realize the class of people who stand to "lose" the most own the media, control Wall St., and control the government itself. You will not see a serious debate about this type of socialism in our MSM.
Scandinavian socialism has a responsibility component. The US can only function in its current state if there is no responsibility whatsoever. It matters not the interest group, whether it be the young or old, rich or poor, students or startup entrepreneurs, entrenched business interests or illegal immigrants. The democratic "socialism" in the west is really only panderism and should not be confused with the Scandinavian model.
The Wall St wanted and got socialism in the first place, now they get a socialist president, what's the problem?
Bernie has a kill-switch, too.
All politicians have a kill-switch these days.
Indeed, and a full time tracking device which also keeps a handy record of your spoken and typed thoughts.
Maybe we need some kind of different leadership model. Sanders for some things. Trump for others. Give honorary citizenship to Putin to kick Bolshie arse here. Jessie Ventura for other things.
I gotta say, in the crazy-ol'-coot catagory, I like Bernard better than trump. He has flashy, tear-it-all-down rhetoric, while trump just tears down the opposition.
They're both protest votes. Trump appeals to the "temporarily down-and-out billionaires" that want to "make America great" again (50's mindset). and Bernie appeals to the hippie protesters that are just looking for something, anything, EVERYTHING, to protest against (60's mindset).
Fun stuff. FEEL THE BERN!
Agreed. Trump reminds me a bit of the other gambling mogul Steve Wynn. Talks his own book as his casino business has been thrashed by the blowout of the middle class. But ultimately a parasite business that is the sign of soulless world.
I will have to inform my mother that she is a "temporarily down and out billionaire". She worked her whole life in a barely above minimum wage job so she will be quite surprised.
Telling truth to power is the surest way to be unelectable in a fascist, police state run by the banksters, MIC and spooks.
Bernie should avoid private planes.
Democratic Senate candidate Mel Carnahan died in a private plane crash on Oct. 16, 2000, just three weeks before the 2000 elections
On Oct. 24, 2002, just two weeks before the 2002 elections, Democratic Senate candidate Paul Wellstone was killed in a plane crash. His wife died with him. Wellstone had been projected to win the election.
I advocate that we abolish elections. They are a huge distraction, and take away from more serious matters such as who won the Super Bowl last year...
btw... who did win the Super Bowl last year...?
If you don't know who won the Super Bowl last year, you are not brainwashed enough. Ergo, you might be a terrorist.
Elections will be abolished,,, when the singularity arrives,,,by our benevolent AI masters...
Eek! I just realized, WWIII may not occur until after the singularity. It may be all of humans fighting the machines.
;-D
Much more important was the PSI in the football!! Johnny Depp was right....
The cheating Patriots, you moron.
Hell must be freezing over, because I just agreed with a self-proclaimed socialist for the first time in my life.
When it all blows up, Communists will be there to make their case . . .
Yup, that is when the rhetoric on both sides is most compelling.
http://www.historyplace.com/speeches/fdr-prayer.htm
"Socialist" is not a very meaningful word. Both Hitler and Stalin were self-proclaimed Socialists.
Double-post :(
Yes, but that is merely on the funding side, it all starts with crushing individual liberty, everything evil flows from that.
I gave you an up arrow, but in reality "armed robbery" is closer to the truth.
Extortion is the real answer.
How much money has he taken?
Our corrupt .gov will not, nor CAN it last. If it does not crumble from within, surely a foreign power will take it out. The Constitution works. Stray from it, or selectively enforce laws, and the nation becomes a fascist corpocrisy.
i don't remember bernie screaming in anger when the congress was exempted from insider trading rules
The fact that Sanders and Trump are getting so much media attention is telling in itself. If TPTB are nervous about a candidate, they make sure they don't get heard. Remember hope & change? Will people fall for that again? I have no faith in ANY candidate.
after Tsipras honestly I don't trust any politics
He's right about the Wall Street fraud part but his solution of moar gov is wrong. Gov enables, enforces and profits from the fraud. So both have to be reeled in (thrown in jail).
I consider not voting a civic duty, so I don't. If I did, I'd still give the nod to Deez Nuts.
Any vote is a vote that gives credibility to a hopelessly corrupt and disgusting system.
Voting is what got us to where we are now.
Do you really believe more voting will help??
nope
if you don't vote, don't protest, don't do nuthin' but bloviate from your keyboard, our hopeessly corrupt and disgusting system is bound to get more and more corrupt and disgusting.
That's a sentiment that is sure to be spouted by MSM.
An argument can be made that not only is the political class "apathetic", but also those that are uninformed enough to add legitimacy to them by showing consent with their vote.
It would be nice if conscientious objectors could be tallied just to take away your idea. Something like a national boycott of everything. Don't go anywhere or buy anything, no phone calls, nothing.
I'm thinking of some sort of 'proof-of-non-voting'. Gather together with other non-voters for the whole election day so as to prove to each other that you are non-voters. Maybe record it. Maybe even live stream it and you can have a real-time proof for the whole world to see. Or skip the gathering part - every person can do it alone, easily.
Sorry but can't go with another Demobrat unless Lawrence Lessig decides to run. Then I'll reconsider. Barry and Clintons have done enough damage.
No Moar Dynasties
Bernie... Vermont is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there!
His platform points are "climate change" and free college, what a fucking joke.
don't forget "equal" pay.
...and higher death (estate) taxes.
how about a minimal stock transfer tax? he's proposed that, but greedy pigs won't tolerate anything cutting into their profits.
I know...other than a platitude about being tough on Wall Street I didn't a gree with anything he said and thought it was a bunch of pandering. He wants to do more of the same and pretend it's all "new and bold". A bad bad joke manipulating some really stupid people.
"He wants to do more of the same..."
Total BS to say that. Growabrain.
What did he say that was different? More gun control, more climate change BS, more higher ed bubble filling, etc. etc. etc.
In two words: MORE CENTRALIZATION! Two more words: MORE DEBT! And still two more: MORE TAXES! (which will ultimately get passed on to me)
That's what's been going on for the last 100 years...corporatism dressed up as "progressive" psuedo socialism and "neo conservatism". I know you want to believe, but that doesn't mean the rest of us should just ignore what he is saying is "new" and then test it against history.
He loves to talk about how he voted against the Iraq war...OK. He did what a person should have done, but since then has he did anything to hold anyone accountable for the crimes that led us in to that war? It was an easy vote (it was passing anyway) since he likes to talk about how hard his anti-Enlightenment gun control votes were so "hard" living in " a rural state".
He's the best of the worst running from his party. I'll give you that. And I don't trust anyone really running on the other monopoly team at this point either. It sucks...yes...but I'm not going to pretend he offers any real choice that will make a difference either.
I'm sure Bernie is popular with children under age 30.
Obama sure was once upon a time.
Yeah a lot of them are having trouble deciding if they should put their Bernie bumper sticker next to or on top of their Hope sticker.
Haha.
I just came back from Denver and I saw a "Hope" sticker peeking out from under a Bernie sticker on an old Volvo.
On with the show.
Face it...We're screwed. Hopelessly screwed.
And a bunch of over 60s I've noticed...but I'm bumping in to retired MSM folks all the time. The one guy posts his "I love Bernie" and "Republicans are the devil" (because THERE IS A DIFFERENCE they'll tell you) stuff on FB all day long. He's about 70, used to be a photog at National Geographic and has pony tail longer than he is tall (though he's about 5 feet I think). You can't make this shit up. Another similar poster retired from the CHI Trib doing the same line of work and neither, unfortunately, can think logically at all. The latter I like as a person but he's simply a lost cause living off the old Trib pension.
He wants to repeal TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) but does he realized that if that were to happen America would slowly become a third world country? TPP will make us poor, but no TPP will make us even poorer. This is a no-win situation that we are in here. I like Bernie Sanders' energy but I am not sure if he is being realistic about how the world works. It's not just about America anymore. Petrodollar is dying. The world doesn't need us like it did in the 20th Century. But we need the world.
Bernie Sanders wants us to return to The 70s.
I'm fairly certain that 18.5 trillion in debt and 200 trillion in unfunded liabilities makes us beyond poor already.
Can someone please quantify and subtract from that number, what is owed to the squid? Because that shouldnt even be considered to be "owed"
Destitute is thew word yo're looking for Doc.
The 70s don't look so bad compared to today. We were still a creditor nation and the govt' wasn't spying on everyone. At least someone running for Prez finally said the" F" word about Wall St.
Refreshing to hear...but of course the Wall Stree barons are lighting cigars and laughing at "The old fool". They aren't about to give up their money and power because of him. He could get into the White House and still nothing would change. They own the president too, he neglected to add. The markets could crash (again), millions could lose everything, and still nothing would change. The oligarchy would only change by revolution, but for every George Washinton there are ten Adolf Hitlers waiting. Ron Paul said many of the same things, but no one gave a s***, so long as the entitlements continue...all that matters.
FEEL THE BERN!
Don't worry, the Western World commences the anti-extremism speech pogroms next month, so Bernie won't be around to flap his gums and tell the truth much longer.
He is too truthful. Too old to be corrupted. Too old for sexual hijinks? Seems like a better choice than Cliinton/Bush, that is for certain. But I am sticking with my candidates.
Oligarchy/Plutocracy 2016! 2+2=5.
I remember another guy who sounded the same, same sort of rhetoric. He said he was gonna go after the banks, he said he was gonna punish wall st and take care of main st. His initials are B.O. We all know how that turned out, RIP America.
Same old script. The sheeple crave a good king to keep their mangers full. Wall Street runs its hustle. Bernie runs his hustle. Jeb and Hitlery run their hustles. Some pigs receive better justice than others.
Bernie is good.... burn wall st.
End the Fed. Or its weekend at Bernie' s for The US Taxpayers. Dead and propped up.
Bernie takes a serious stand on serious issues in this shit-hole definition of a democracy.
Listen, we may not entirely agree with his socialist posture, but he agrees with us, droogs.
If he brings on Ron Paul as VP,
Jesse Ventura as Attorney General,
Donald "Duck" Trump as Sec. of Treasury,
Gene Simmons as Sec. of Defense,
Ben Carson as Surgeon General,
Clint Eastwood as FBI Director, and
Monica Lewinsky as Press Secretary...
I think we can handle the rest of the fucking purge ourselves.
Agree?
BTW, Jake is a divisive asshole.
Fuck CNN +MSNBS+ABC+CBS+FOX.
They are on "The Fecking List."
Love, Alexa
Bernie is not the answer, nor Hillary, or Trump and all the rest of the cronies. Putting Banksters in jail might be a good start however.
Four boxes of liberty - to be used in this order.
Soap, ballot, jury and ammo
The Imperialism of Capital is not the same as Capitalism, and Zionists are not the same as Jews. Know your real enemy.
Einstein was a Zionist.
Well, he will disolve congress. Bernie is a communist.
He's a "social democrat." His ideas are nearly identical to those of Sweden or New Zealand.
Let's see .. in USA 68% of our taxes go to social entitlement programs. That's more than New Zealand. Just who is "socialist?"
since 1950 - War & MIC funding has consumed $20 Trillion - the debt is $18 Trillion - absent phony created sequential enemies list there would be NO DEBT
social programs are not the problem - Switzerland has a high standard of living, social programs and they dont murder...anyone anywhere - to maintain their standing
Trump and Bernie are both telling the truth. Corruption of govenment (what Stockman calls "crony fascism") is at the root of most socioeconomic ills.
Big, bloated government is the root of most socioeconomic ills. You can't have big government without corruption.
EXACTAAFUCKINZACTLY!!!!!! Why can't people get this? The only way to not have a corrupt government is to not have a government. Now is that realistic...maybe not at this point. But, the point is that (as thinkers a couple few hundred years ago already understood) you should have the least powerful government possible so that the motivation to own it is minimal.
I'm surrounded by dipshits talking about how we need to get "lobbying" (aka bribery by a different name) "out of government". I work them through the logical deduction of why bribery exists leading them to the logical conclusion...that you must limit government power to limit bribery because they are only doing it because there is something to buy. And they always have and always will.
They nod in agreement...stare at me and say, "but we just need to limit lobbying and everything would be better, but how do we do that?"

Kolchaks prediction= Not a single one of these ass hats currently running will be president. Just a side circus currently for everyones viewing pleasure.
People like Sanders are overmatched vs guys on 'Wall Street'. What has he done about it? should be pushing for massive change in senate and congress membership. Most of them dont even understand derivatives.
most of them are on K-Street deferred payrolls.
just looked at all those "hampton" people going to Tory Burch's home for (barf) pancakes with Hillary. Never saw so many angry/unhappy "people" in my life suffering form anorexia or bulemia or plain ennui.
I used to think it was inevitable that she'd win but now I'm thinking the prozac nation won't give her the votes (or diebold). Just not a likeable person no matter how hard the media wants a womyn president.
Tory Burch and Hitlery should be thanking the ex-husband for those Hampton pancakes.
"Tory Burch created a $2 billion brand in less than a decade, an amazing accomplishment that shows her talent and drive.
But in a recent interview, Burch downplayed a major factor in her success: help from her ex-husband, retail legend J. Christopher Burch."
"And after all, Tory didn't have any experience as a designer or businesswoman before launching her company, so she probably got help from somewhere."

don't be so misogynist (ha).
to quote gloria steinem (was she at
Tory's?): a womyn needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle.
Whore.- I remember in 2008 Clinton had huge momentum and then started talking about holding bankers accountable. Suddenly Obama, the guy who nobody knew flew in and won. Then as President said how guys like Jamie Dimon were smart good people.
The video thumbnail is golden lol.
Grumpy old man with the "You know it's the truth, son" look on his face and the son with a "i got caught watchin' daddy's porn" face.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
And it is easy to recognize a problem, but quite difficult to offer a viable solution, especially when you are a self-proclaimed socialist.
I think Bernie is a neo-greenbacker. He wants to end the Fed so that the government can print money directly.
It's much cheaper to just print money than print Treasury bonds, sell them to the primary dealers, and then have the Fed buy them from those primary dealers with money created out of thin air.
Bernie is the perfect cognitive dissonance candidate. Bernie looks around him and sees a government frought with grift, corruption, and greed.
He then says to himself: "We need more of this to keep this bad shit from happening."
Only in politics. A oncologist doesn't look at a patient with cancer and say "We need more cancer to help this patient."
I've posed this scenario to staunch Bernie supporters but they never actually answer it. They fail to see the big picture. Bernie is the next "what free shit can I give you" candidate without even trying.
Depends on who he is goin to give freebies to. If it's the general public, then I'm all for a little Socialism, taking from the likes of Joes Cassano, and giving it to me.
The lack of prosecutions of the Zionist Mafia on Wall Street in 2008 and counting, not one single solitary biggie, primarily Jewish criminal has seen the inside of an interview room in the Federal Building in D.C. Nay, ,they have been given TRILLIONS in newly minted FRNs. to do with as they will, and they saw fit to pay themselves huge bonuses for utter failure.
If he means to pass on about a Quadrillion new FRNs to me and my confreres in the general population, and takes away the trillions in bonuses the likes Dick Fuld and the bailouts to Angelo Godzillo were given for their crimes, thenI will vote for him in a heartbeat. Until the general pop is made whole, the crash of 2008-9 set back to it previous highs, then fuck the idea that Bernie wants to give money to the people. As long as the Wall Street, Fleet Street, and Orchard street felons are penalized for their crimes.
And shifting this unlimited power from Wall Street and bureaucrats helps how?
Muppets are satiated for another 4 years.
Wall Street and Bureaucrats are two sides of the same coin, co-enabling each other.
Precisely!!!! You'd think that a Jew like him, one with a grandparent that had a concentration camp tattoo, would have better sense than to be a Socilist. Guess not... Maybe his campaign slogan can be;
One People
One Nation
One Leader
Hillary: If you like your fraud, you can keep your fraud.
