China Rocked By Another Massive Chemical Explosion

Tyler Durden's picture

Seriously, what the f##k is going on over there?

  • *BLAST SEEN IN CHEM. IND. ZONE IN SHANDONG, CHINA: PEOPLES DAILY

This is the second explosion in Shandong, which both follow the huge and deadly explosion in Tianjin.

We'll await the details which we imagine will suggest that, as was the case in Tianjin, many more tonnes of something terribly toxic were stored than is allowed under China's regulatory regime which apparently only applies to those who are not somehow connected to the Politburo.

After the last Shandong explosion, The People's Daily reported that the plant contained adiponitrile, which the CDC says can cause "irritation eyes, skin, respiratory system; headache, dizziness, lassitude (weakness, exhaustion), confusion, convulsions; blurred vision; dyspnea (breathing difficulty); abdominal pain, nausea, [and] vomiting."

This clip has just been posted to a Weibo account - reportedly showing tonight's explosion (we are unable to confirm it this is the most recent or the previous Shandong explosion although that was more twlight than dead of night).

Blood will be spilled because of this.  Even if these incidents were a remarkable coincidence, blood will be spilled.  This whole thing is going downhill.

The best Tainjin explosion video by far. This native English speaker and his probably Chinese wife (from her accent) had an apartment very close to the explosions. Unfortunately, he was one of those vertical video idiots. The footage could have even been better than it was if he'd oriented (no pun intended) his smart phone correctly! Definitely NSFW because of the understandable language (shouted curse words):

Okay folks, that's about enough. This is just the usual shit but which America hasn't had to deal with since the mid-80's because we stopped being manufacturers back then.

As diverse materials stack up due to lack of buyers or manufacturing consumption, it should come as no surprise that safety concerns are swept under the rug. They are piling containers too high now and the containers fail and fall over. Putting containers next to each other that should not be. Putting containers that should be kept dry outside where they get rained on. Leaving in the sun containers that should be refrigerated. Not monitoring containers that need to be stored under very specific conditions. And then there are the containers that contain chemicals that if left in storage too long break down into unstable derivatives.

No real mystery here, folks. The Chinese inherited out former storage problem but they didn't get our OSHA or any of our tested industrial hygiene processes. Or if they got them, they quickly set them aside as too expensive or requiring too much labor. As could have been totally expected.

As more material piles up -- higher and higher hanging around for longer and longer -- this crisis will only get worse. China has become the MSDS hell on earth. They will have to find ways to start identifying and disposing of this stuff, or else (and this is my expectation) just leave it all to slowly rot with all the predictable (if you are a materials scientist or chemist) results.

These are the unintended consequences of them becoming the last and best shit-hole manufacturing partner on Earth: You eventually blow yourself the fuck up.

I would normally agree. Two of them, I could see as somehow the same chemical is going bad at roughly the same time under the same ill advised conditions. But three in China, plus one in Japan?

I just don't know. It is a lot to ask us to think there is no ill intent involved in this, somewhere.

And you know we are capeable of blowing them up if we want to.

And you know they are capebale of blowing themselves up if they want to collect a payout.

And you know others all over the globe have many reasons to mess with them...

Your insights are good, they go against the grain, and often have a ring of truth where others do not. I miss you not being around more.

But three chemical explosions, my furry friend???

Mon, 08/31/2015 - 16:40 | 6491932 cougar_w
cougar_w's picture

I could easily predict a whole slew of these explosions now, for a very simple reason: The corrupt paid-off warehouse managers are each individually in full panic mode.

They have skeletons in their own closets. All of them do and they know it. So they start moving shit around to find their own sleeping bombs. But there is no paperwork anywhere, and it was all piled too high and too deep and has sat around too long in the sun.

Bump bump grind grind.

Late nights, everyone scared, trucks being loaded by exhausted forklift operators. no where to put things so just put it over there but be careful.

Find the paper work. No paperwork then just open it. Oh shit oh fuck just dump that in the bay right now. Or put it on a train and then abandon the train. Someone's problem at another warehouse or maybe on a side track in the countryside. Three Monkeys.

Grind grind bump bump.

Ka-Boom!

It was always this way. The US had countless industrial accidents in the late 1800's and early 1900's and all that being simple shit like TNT shipments, munitions and coal dust. Now we have chemicals in containers that chemists in the last century would have been terrified of and we ship them all over hell and nobody pays any attention least of all in China.

So yeah there will be more of the same. Shit blowing even more frequently in the months ahead, followed by years and years of random such disasters as forgotten or abandoned caches of unstable chemicals crystalize and eventually detonate when some curious children break them open with a pipe. This is how capitalists made money in the 21st century, by moving their nightmares onto ignorant people who couldn't read the MSDS printed in English.

Bump grind ka-boom.

Industrial Sabotage- Wayne Madsen

A day before the Shandong explosion, a suspicious explosion ripped through the basement of the One Wilshire building in downtown Los Angeles. The explosion, which injured four people, and resulting power failure knocked out data services to Level 3 data network customers. A number of Internet Service Providers saw their operations disrupted, with the effects of the outage being felt as far away as Britain. Such Internet "choke points" are highly-favored sabotage targets in asymmetric warfare campaigns.

In 2002, a Panamanian publisher issued the 1999 Chinese asymmetric warfare book in English with a cover that was bound to stir anti-Chinese passions in the United States.

Shinzo Abe, according to WMR's sources in Japan, has old links to the fascist terrorist group Aum Shinrikyo, which attacked the Tokyo subway system with deadly Sarin gas in 1995. In 2000, Aum Shinrikyo changed its name to Aleph and, although it has been accused of being anti-Semitic, oddly chose the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet as its new name. Aleph and its cult members, many of whom are Gladio-like operatives for the Japanese intelligence agency Naicho, is believed to ultimately answer to Abe. Though branded a terrorist group, Aleph is in a unique position to commit acts of sabotage in China without exposing the fingerprints of Abe or the Japanese government.

Chinese asymmetric warfare strategy has, as one its its basic principles, a doctrine known as "anti-access/area denial" (A2/AD). This doctrine calls for denying the use of port facilities and logistical support to the U.S. Seventh Fleet in mainland Japan, Okinawa, and Guam. Targeted ports include Yokosuka, the headquarters of the Seventh Fleet, and Sasebo.

The deadly explosions in Tianjin and Shandong were followed by an explosion at the U.S. Army Sagami General Depot in Sagamihara, near the Yokosuka U.S. naval base, which stores fuel, ammunition, and compressed gases for the U.S. military forces in Japan. The Sagami depot is exactly the type of facility that would be targeted in a Chinese A2/AD operation, although it would not be a primary target. If, however, the Chinese were responding to what it believed were an act of asymmetric warfare against two of its major industrial assets, the port of Tianjin and the Shandong chemical factory, it would choose a secondary or tertiary U.S. military target, such as the Sagami depot.

Chinese A2/AD strategy calls for minimizing civilian casualties, whether it is in what China refers to the "first island chain" -- Japan, Okinawa, Luzon, Borneo, and Taiwan -- and the "second island chain" -- Guam, Saipan, the Bonin Islands, and the Volcano Islands. The Chinese understand that it would not help their cause with fellow Asians to be responsible for a large number of Asian civilian casualties in denying the Americans military access to the first and second island chains. They are perfectly content to allow the Americans to maintain the distinction of indiscriminately targeting Japanese civilians in World War II with two nuclear bombings of cities and conventional fire bombings of Tokyo and other cities.

The Chinese have a different strategy for what is known as the "third island chain" -- the Aleutians, Hawaii, and the South Pacific island states and territories. This chain would be targeted with mainly non-lethal unconventional warfare, including cyber-attacks, a massive propaganda campaign, especially directed at ethnic Pacific islanders, and communication satellite outages resulting from the use of ASAT, or anti-satellite, weapons.

The authors of "Unrestricted Warfare" stated that in their view, nations could inflict grievous harm on the economies of other nations without taking major military action. The authors saw attacks on data networks as one such unconventional action. The Chinese colonels saw a combination of traditional military action and non-military operations as a
"grand warfare method."

The Sagami explosion was shortly followed by another at the Nippon Steel plant in Kawasaki, next to Haneda Airport, which serves Tokyo. Airport passengers were quoted as fearing that there was a link to the Kawasaki and Sagami explosions in Japan and those that occurred in China. In this case, the "crowd sourcing" of the causes of the explosions may be more correct than official government statements and corporate media accounts.

This week, the Chinese and Russian navies began "Joint Sea II" exercises in the Sea of Japan. It is the first time that the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) has conducted exercises in the Sea of Japan. In addition to live-fire drills, the two navies are conducting "anti-sabotage" operations, which is interesting in the wake of the industrial explosions in China and Japan.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy is conducting a major exercise in the South China Sea with the navies of Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The exercise is called CARAT, Cooperation Afloat and Readiness Training, and is directed against China's increasing military presence in disputed maritime and island zones in the South China Sea. The U.S. Navy ships participating in CARAT are home based at Yokosuka, in Japan, the site of the Sagami explosion.

An obvious U.S.-directed protest against the Chinese consulate in Makati City in the Philippines. Akbayan is a very lightly leftist party that adheres to the pro-U.S. line and was created to act as a bulwark against the Communist Party. The Philippines Democratic Socialist Party is also a U.S.-inspired front that opposes the Communists. The Communist Party of the Philippines opposes the growing U.S. military presence in what it calls the "West Philippines Sea."

The United States is waging a major psychological operations campaign in Southeast Asia directed against Chinese expansion in the South China Sea and various U.S. embassies, as well as the Voice of America and Radio Free Asia, have been stoking anti-Chinese propaganda in the media.

In the world of intelligence, what is occurring at the present moment in East Asia is nothing less than alarming. President Obama is at loggerheads with his Pacific military commanders who are itching for a showdown with China in the South China Sea. However, it was Obama who set his Pacific "dogs of war" loose when he announced that the United States was adopting a "pivot to Asia" to confront growing Chinese influence in the region. Amid current tensions in Asia, Chinese President Xi Jinping is due to make his first state visit to Washington next month. Some Republicans, hyping the Chinese "cyber-threat," want Obama to cancel the visit. Such action will only play into the hands of the militarists in Japan and their American instigators in Pearl Harbor and at the Pentagon.

Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.

3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. A ground level nudet creates a plume of downrange fallout that cannot be hidden or disguised. I have yet to see anybody showing a war survey meter with the needle moving and therefore regard any such claim as imaginary.

In addition, so far as I know, EMP is a line-of-sight phenomenon, which is why a high atmospheric burst is necessary to cover continental landmasses with its deleterious effects. So how did all those cell phone cameras continue to work when pointing right at the nudet site, hmmm?

Oh, and what about all those people staring directly at the fireball of an alleged nudet at a distance of about a mile?

Aren't they all blind now? At least hospitalized with severe retinal damage? Which further reminds me that there ought to be tens of thousands of radiation casualties in such a dense area.

WMR's sources from throughout Asia are reporting the same thing: the massive August 12 explosion that completely obliterated the Binhai New Area of the special economic zone city  of Tianjin appears to not have been the result of an accidental chemical explosion but from state-sponsored industrial sabotage. The initial explosion was followed by a series of other explosions, said to be from combustible materials stored in the port and warehouse area. Moreover, WMR's sources report that the nature of the initial shock wave and secondary fireball indicates that the conflagration may have been caused by a tactical nuclear bunker buster bomb hidden in a shipping container.

NSA satelites and acoustic hydrophones located in the south china sea also picked up an unique accoustic signature from the explosion. Those tsunami early warning systems that we have peppered all over SEA are not for Tsunamis but for listencing for nuclear subs and nuclear explosions

A conventional explosion CANNOT form the type of crater that was seen in the images of the Tinjan site.  The blast had to have been caused by some form of nuclear weapon.  Read the scientific studies on cratering from various explosions if you don't believe me.  Also, the size of the crater seen there matches almost exactly the craters left from tests done in the USSR in the early 60's using low yield nuclear weapons buried several yards underground.

Unfortunately for the rest of us TPTB have come to realize they can use micro and mini nukes with no repercussions as the MSM will not investigate or report on those incidents and the countries involved obviously will not say a word.  Expect the use of those weapons to become much more commonplace in the coming months and years.  Bottom line is we're all fucked . . . .

SABOTAGE 101

If China believed that the two, now three, explosions in their various chemical warehouses was in fact sabotage, they would never pubicly say so.

By suggesting that they had been deliberately sabotaged by one of their adversaries, automatically makes them an acknowledged prime suspect when payback times comes (and come it will).

The only time a country that has been sabotaged accuses their enemy of the act is when the former has performed a 'false flag' act of sabotage on itself, as a casus belli.

You may be right.

I think with China bursting on the world stage the way they have, they must react with physical destruction.  If they don't, it diminishes their claim of being a world power.

And wouldn't Sun Tzu  counsel

A spare rib for a spare rib"?

As for what the Chinese central bank does, it saw the DJIA come flying back last Wednesday and Thursday, probably on the Wings of the Fed and it's ability to create money, the way you and I blow our noses.

The wild card in these prognostication is Xi's visit to Washington in the middle of September and whether the Chinese want to retaliate before the visit or, heavens to Betsy, while Xi is in the nation's capitol.

Of course I may be wrong, but for the last 15 - 20 years we've seen the US's M O become "anything goes."  It figures that eventually the other powers will adopt the same ploy.

Your post more correctly should have read; "This kind of thing is the reason behind all the Chinese explosionsChina Displacing Monopoly of US Dollar, Bretton Wood System".   Banksters and their thug enforcement arm, the USSA, have proven time and time again they will use any measures to either support/defend the place of the dollar as the reserve currency or to punish any country that dares pursue other avenues of payment for trade.

Just ask Saddam and Mohmar if you don't believe me - oh, I forgot, they were both killed by USSA backed forces . . . for using the Euro for oil sales and for having the temerity to suggest a gold backed currency for trade (i.e. the African Dinar), respectively.

The US gov has been accusing China of hacking US gov sites WITH NO EVIDENCE. The US gov is blaming China with no evidence like they accuse Russia of having its army in eastern Ukraine with no evidence.

The US blusters over China building on islands in the South China Seas.

Lunatics in Washington are complaining that China is now hiding its submarines in the sea. I kid you not.

I would not expect China or Russia to start a war with the US even though they can stop the US cold, but they know it would be ugly.

http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/1733191-explosion-at-chinese-chemical-pl...

A warehouse at the Runxing Chemical plant in the eastern province of Shandong exploded and caught fire on Saturday evening, just weeks after another massive blast in the port city of Tianjin...

The impact of the blast could be felt over a mile away, and it shattered windows in the immediate vicinity.

Tianjin seems to be a very important port:

The Port of Tianjin (Tianjin Gang, Chinese: ???; pinyin: ti?nj?n g?ng), formerly known as the Port of Tanggu, is the largest port in Northern China and the main maritime gateway to Beijing...It is the largest man-made port in mainland China,[7] and one of the largest in the world...Tianjin Port handled 500 million tonnes of cargo and 13 million TEU of containers in 2013,[9] making it the world's fourth largest port by throughput tonnage and the ninth in container throughput.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tianjin_port

An attack on Tianjin would be an attack on an export dependent  economy

Natural News passed on the rod of God weapons rumor, but more interesting was this

Both before and after the massive explosion, the Chinese government has been flying "black helicopters" in formation across Beijing. (Update: Previously, this article stated the helicopters began flying after the explosion, but we have been corrected on this point, as helicopters were witnessed in the sky in the days before the explosion as well.) Chinese dissidents took numerous photos of these helicopters and were able to deliver these exclusive pictures to Natural News:

http://www.naturalnews.com/050816_Tianjin_explosion_space-based_weapons_...

In general China does not promote detailed negative news. This would be verifiable by satellite, but still this is a lot of information from a news controlled state. Black flag very possible, including an attempt to focus the Chinese public away from their own problems and towards external enemies. When world systems crash, many groups find advantage in chaos. If the helicopter stories are true, I would suspect muslim terrorists, but the explosions could still be used for unrelated political advantage. All I know is, September is looking bad

You can cut and paste until the cows come home but the America, Right or Wrong crowd won't pay attention.

thermobaric weapon is a type of explosive that utilizes oxygen from the surrounding air to generate an intense, high-temperature explosion, and in practice the blast wave of such a weapon produces a typically significantly longer duration than a conventional condensed explosive. The fuel-air bomb is one of the most well-known types of thermobaric weapons.

Their reliance on atmospheric oxygen makes them unsuitable for use underwater, at high altitude, and in adverse weather. They do, however, cause considerably more destruction when used inside confined environments such as tunnels, caves, and bunkers (AND WAREHOUSES) - partly due to the sustained blast wave, and partly by consuming the available oxygen inside. Thermobaric weapons have the longest sustained blast wave and destructive force of any known explosive, excluding nuclear warheads and hydrogen bombs.

A typical weapon consists of a container packed with a fuel substance, in the center of which is a small conventional-explosive "scatter charge". Fuels are chosen on the basis of the exothermicity of their oxidation, ranging from powdered metals, such as aluminium or magnesium, to organic materials, possibly with a self-contained partial oxidant. The most recent development involves the use of nanofuels  In some designs, strong munitions cases allow the blast pressure to be contained long enough for the fuel to be heated up well above its auto-ignition temperature, so that once the container bursts the super-heated fuel will auto-ignite progressively as it comes into contact with atmospheric oxygen.

A fuel-air explosive (FAE) device consists of a container of fuel and two separate explosive charges. After the munition is dropped or fired, the first explosive charge bursts open the container at a predetermined height and disperses the fuel in a cloud that mixes with atmospheric oxygen (the size of the cloud varies with the size of the munition). The cloud of fuel flows around objects and into structures. The second charge then detonates the cloud, creating a massive blast wave. The blast wave destroys unreinforced buildings and equipment and kills and injures people. The antipersonnel effect of the blast wave is more severe in foxholes, on people with body armor, and in enclosed spaces such as caves, buildings, and bunkers.
That's exactly what the video in Tianjin showed to me.  But then I'm not as American right or wrong guy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermobaric_weapon

  • China is going to sell Iran 24 J-10 Fighter Jets
  • Iran is going to give China access to oil for the next 20 years
  • The plan is based upon plans sold to China by the Israeli government (The J-10 was built on technology that was allegedly sold to China, by Israel, that was developed for the Israeli built Lavi ATF.)

“Vigorous Dragon,” is an advanced combat aircraft that foreign sources say is based on the original designs of the Lavi, an Israeli prototype whose manufacturing was canceled in the 1980s."

"According to defense analysts, Israel and the US are concerned about the emerging deal, which, if executed, could complicate foreign armies’ efforts to act freely in the region."

http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Iran/Report-China-set-to-provide-Iran-w...

"China allegedly has agreed to sell 150 J-10 multirole fighter jets to Iran, the Israeli military intelligence website DEBKAfile reported last week.

“Beijing has agreed to sell Tehran 150 of these sophisticated jets,” the website states, based on information obtained from unnamed intelligence and military sources."

http://thediplomat.com/2015/08/will-iran-order-150-new-fighter-jets-from...

"There have been persistent rumors that the J-10 is a replica of Israel’s cancelled Lavi fighter jet prototype. One analyst reported in 1996 that “after Israel discontinued the largely U.S.-funded project, it sold China the plans for the Lavi and the associated secret U.S. technology.”

Its so easy to engineer a blast.

Say CIA front end company orders 200 tons of fertilizer and cyanide .

then goods are shoved into containers .

obviously the containers will be in one place

send someone to ensure

then between the containers drop a bag of high explosives

Boom

and all the fertilizer and cyanide in the containers will go up in smoke

The Tianjin Blasts: Industrial Accident or Nuclear Event?

The death toll from the Tianjin blasts stands at 114, with another 80 missing and presumed dead. The truth is that given the condition that the site is still in I would suggest that the death toll is in all likelihood far higher.

There were two major explosions in the Port of Tianjin on August 12th, one has been estimated as being the equivalent of three tonnes of TNT, the other the equivalent of 21 tonnes of TNT. They are described as having caused seismic readings of 2.3 and 2.9

There has been no information offered whatsoever by the Chinese Government as to the specific cause of the blast and the popular conspiracy theories on this one seem to have missed the mark other than in their assertion that this was no mere industrial accident.

The scene of what is left of the area looks like Hiroshima, Nagasaki or Manhattan after 911, only more so. The devastation is far more intense. It looks like a war has been fought in the Tianjin Port, a devastating and prolonged war.
