I saw a UTube video of that bridge in actual use. It's creepy as hell watching trucks and cars go over it and "disappear". Probably one of the best unintended optical illusions ever.

So you cant see over the bridge crest. Why is that a big deal? A photographer used some prospective control. You can do that to any bridge which has a crest.
You think it crests 300 ft from where it starts? I dunno. Doesn't make sense to build that huge ramp just so the bridge can go down hill.
You should see the Houston Ship Channel bridges. Especially the Sam Houston bridge. I laugh everytime i go over it. The designers had some kind of height fettish.

The shape (outward curvature) of the concrete support wall to the left gives an indication to this as well (from an engineering POV)

I would assume the presenter meant to show china as a dead end, I would more aptly urge viewers to see it as western central planners/idiots inability to perceive the remainder of Chinas plan.
