Charting The Rise Of Bernie (And Demise Of Republicans)

Tyler Durden's picture

Democrats are the happiest relative to Republicans in over 3 months according to Bloomberg's Consumer Comfort index. In fact, whether because the market is tumbling or The Donald is soaring, Republican 'comfort' is the lowest since Nov 2014 while Democrat 'comfort' remains relatively stable...

Democrats confidence surging relative to Republicans...

But it is driven by the collapse in Republican confidence...

Charts: Bloomberg

Who are we kidding?! With the media as weaponized as it is -- the GOP has no chance of winning, irrespective of candidate.

I hope Bernie wins.  Give the government to Americans that they seem to want so badly.

While I despise party politics in general, the ignorance of the liberals on the financial issue irritates me along with their short-term memory.  Sanders is a typically grandstanding politician.  When the HR 1207 passed the house, Sanders introduced a similiar bill but it was only limited to an audit of TALF and TARP, which showed some $27 Trillion being laundered to other central banks and other foreign banks.  The Vitter Amendment was proposed (http://www.thecenterlane.com/?tag=vitter-amendment) which would have given the Audit Bill of Sanders in the senate, the opportunity for Americans to peak at the FOMC, discount window, and other machinations of the fed.  While the debate was raging, the May 2010 flash crash took place and Sanders gutted the amendment from the final bill.

Bottom line, Sanders points fingers at Wall Street and the Fed for a show and nothing more.  He had the opportunity to see behind the curtain and decided against it.  The thing is, for Sander's paradise to take place the Central Bank would have to do exactly what it is doing today so that the costs for social and corporate welfare can be kicked down the road for later repayment.  Sanders ia fucking nut, Hillary is a corrupt thief, Trump is a platititude giving schmuck, Rand Paul is impossible to understand where he stands, and the rest can go stick a fist up their ass.  I don't need no king.

A typical sheeple - why do you give up.  If we are to take the country back to what our ancestors gave us, you join the charge (and not on visa).  Do not support the economic system any more than you have to and starve the beast.

HA! Giving up?  You have no idea how many years I dedicated to political activism and working through "their" process to try and give a true voice to the people.  I can tell you from experience, even when successful in turning the ship a bit, the system will go right back to it's course over the cliff.  There is no stopping this avarice and political power grabbing.  The system will implode on itself.  Until then, I just stay off the radar as much as possible and ignore the sick cunts.

Article headline: "(And Demise Of Republicans)"

Oh really?  The republicans are already in demise, so you mean demise from demise, right?  And the democrats - they are a disaster - so Bernie represents the socialist disaster to come, and the republicans an unprincipled (by and large) opposition party (though ostensbily in control of 2 of 3 branches of federal government.)

Really?  Democrats are the ones on welfare?  Perhaps you can explain why red stares in the deep south are the biggest feeders on the government tit... and perhaps you can also explain why heavily democratic cities like LA, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Portland, etc are also where many of the jobs are?  The people getting welfare are Wall Street, the banks, and their CEOs.

You ZH-heads have an amazing ability to operate in terms of two conflicting and contradictory models of the world!

You know the economy is collapsing, and the working folk, blue white or pink collar, didn't cause that.

You know tens of millions of hardworking folk have lost their jobs and are struggling to survive with the help of increawingly mean-spirited and humiliating social welfare assistance.

You know tens of millions of young Americans, including those who did what we said that they should and got an education, are facing a future with no future in it.

You know that the social welfare programs, set up to help people through hard times, are collapsing due to the same system failure precipitated by the same criminal financial scams that created the growing need for them in the first place.

Yet you can gloat over their suffering, take satisfaction that it will get worse.  Just what lesson will THAT teach them?

How many folks are turning out to support Bernie because they are happy about any of this?

And by the way, just where do you get the idea that Democrats are happy about Bernie?  Very few working-folk who vote Democratic really consider themselves Democrats.

And as for the Democratic Party, go look up Democratic Candidate Endorsements on Wikipedia.  As of Aug 30 Bernie had ZERO endorsements from Congresscritters, Senators or sitting Governors (one from independent ex-Governor Jesse Ventura).  Three Mayors, including the Socialist mayor of Seattle and the Mayor of New London.  ZERO Democratic State Party Chairs. 21 State Legislators, half of them from Vermont. Locally, some tell me they love him and wish they could support him, but the Democratic Party has intimidated them into silence.

This is actually quite impressive.  I had no idea the Democratic Party had that much power and control over its members and officeholders.

Dems are happy with the prospect of Uncle Bernie, a real dyed in the wool socialist, in the driver's seat given that 51% of immigrant households and 30% of native-born Americans are riding the US welfare gravy train, accessing Medicaid, cash, food, and housing programs.

When you’re in a big-mall restaurant in California and by looking around find that you and another guy are the only whites there, realizing that you and he in all likelihood are paying for the gravy can be “depressing.”

-- In the four top immigrant-receiving states, use of welfare by immigrant households is significantly higher than that of native households: California (55 percent vs. 30 percent), New York (59 percent vs. 33 percent), Texas (57 percent vs. 34 percent), and Florida (42 percent vs. 28 percent).

Not sure on the miscalculation angle. Trump's catalyst was the illegal immigrant issue. Bush, on the other hand, favors amnesty, because the arriving hordes do so "as an act of love". Think this may have more to do with their respective poll showing. But....what do I know?

Bernie is a Jew from Brooklyn, New York City who is rabidly anti-Second Amendment. All the demonrats who fled what they created in Massachusetts vote the same way they did in Massachusetts, the result is the transformation of states like Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire.

Jews and Jewish organizations lead the gun control campaign

As to why Republicans are uncomfortable compared to the Demonrats is that the DNC is FOR their base, the RNC is AGAINST its base, i.e. the White Christians.

Protective Stupidity

Nothing illustrates this more than the rise of Donald Trump, who has shown the real enemy of the White conservative base isn’t the “liberal media” but the Beltway Right itself. More than that, as usual with “far right” candidates, someone like Trump is actually the GOP’s best bet to appeal to Reagan Democrats. As progressive reporter Dave Weigel notes, Trump is “the candidate talking most directly about the loss of manufacturing jobs to foreign countries,” something which is deeply important to the Rust Belt voters the GOP desperately needs to win and yet has all but written off.

At a moment when the GOP base feels itself utterly under siege by the educational, media, cultural, and financial elite, the Republican chattering class has decided to join in the attack. Even Trump’s immigration plan crafted in alliance with Senator Jeff Sessions is denounced as “identity politics for white people.” Of course, no one who supports such a statement can ever complain about out-of-control leftism in California or act surprised when Texas turns blue. California today isn’t the opposite of what the conservative movement wants —it’s the future the Beltway Right chose when it refused to listen to people like Pat Buchanan, Peter Brimelow, and Sam Francis. Concern trolling about the Donald Trump “circus” implies the conservative movement itself should be taken seriously as either a political or intellectual force.

Of course Trump isn’t “identity politics for white people.” Just ask these girls (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUIVNqFuG2M). Going further, Trump would probably win more non-White voters than Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio. And Trump doesn’t even oppose “affirmative action,” or what should really be called anti-White racial preferences.

But Trump still paves the way for White identity politics, because the unhinged attacks on Trump’s candidacy and supporters show the Beltway Right would rather destroy itself, and the country, than even allow discussion of how an ongoing racial transformation will affect politics and culture.

I don't see why any Republican should be happy with the Republican party.  And I don't see any reason why a Democrat should be happy with the Democratic party, because those voters have been slipped a mickey as well.  The Democrats have migrated to far left Marxism and Communism, and the Republicans in power don't even try to define themselves in any useful way, instead pandering to groups for votes for whatever they think might keep them in office.  Socialism sells?  OK, this week we're Socialists.  Obama's popular still?  OK, this year we won't attempt to impeach him for his constitutional violations.  Rule of law not working?  Yeah, maybe we agree that's not good, but we're not doing anything about it, because we might upset people and be labeled as racist.  So the whole stinking swamp in Washington is really a lost cause.  They respond to money, and no longer represent the ordinary citizens of the country. That's over.

Socialism is plunder; by law it converts plunder into a right.

What Frederic Bastiat wrote in “The Law” more than 150 years ago applies perfectly today: “The law is perverted. And the police powers of the state perverted along with it! ... The law became the weapon of every kind of greed! Instead of checking crime, the law itself guilty of the evils it is supposed to punish!”

Bastiat wrote when France was rapidly turning to complete socialism:

Man can live and satisfy his wants only by ceaseless labor; by the ceaseless application of his faculties to natural resources. This process is the origin of property.

“But it is also true that a man may live and satisfy his wants by seizing and consuming the products of the labor of others. This process is the origin of plunder.

“Now since man is naturally inclined to avoid pain—and since labor is pain in itself—it follows that men will resort to plunder whenever plunder is easier than work. History shows this quite clearly. And under these conditions, neither religion nor morality can stop it.

“When, then, does plunder stop? It stops when it becomes more painful and more dangerous than labor.”

Here's a monstrosity for ye, Gab.  Please google "Guaranteed Retirement Plans."

This is an ivory tower initiative that was shelved as the Obamacare wars heated up.  But it's still there, waiting to be dusted off by Bernie!  Here's the broad strokes:

1)  Most americans are woefully prepared for retirement.

2)  There's a shitload of equity in 401(k) plans out there, like ripe fruit on a tree, waitng to be picked.

3)  401(k)'s have benefited only the wealthy.

4)  This is not fair.

The grand solution is, of course, to nationalize 401(k) plans, and pay an annuity to the planholder.  And how much will it pay?  Enough to ensure a "comfortable retirement."  "Comfortable" defined by whom?  Take a wild fucking guess!  Not you!

And the building manager keeps yelling through the door that there's no such thing as diarrhea, that it's just a construct, a complaint only of the privileged white minority.

I used to think ZH readers were smart. I was wrong. Most of you seem to think it matters who is president. Morons.

Fear not, sir, elections always make this happen to ZH.  Those of us who know that it matters not whether Team Red or Team Blue is in control of the ball will still be here when the circus has packed up its tents and left for the next small town.

if everyone accumulated or earned enough money for everyone to be "comfortable", would there then be too much money in existence?

It is a good news for Republicans: the more Democrats are happy and complacent, the more inert and passive they are. On the other side, unsatisfied people are more eager to fight for change
