Look, Gay people are not pedophiles necessarily. Our Troop had a gay guy as scoutmaster for a year or so until a parent got incensed over it. (And he's a friend of mine) So the gay guy got fired as scoutmaster, but his son continued on the prograrm. It was rotten.
As far as scouts are concerned, these are kids trying to figure out who they are. Some are gay, most are straight. And they figure that shit out on their own. Back in the sixties, there was a problem in San Bernardino County's (CA) punchcards and they asked for votunteers to help sort them. (Apparently, a batch got dropped, and there were thousands of them.) I was nine or so, Mom drafted me to help since she was a reserve deputy.
So they have all these cards in various baskets. I get handed one, and I go sit next to the monsterous computer. Being a kid, I'm awed by the thing, I had just seen '2001 A Space Odessey' and see a punchtool next to the keyboard. I had no idea of the havoc that that little punchtool could create.
Each ticket I sorted got an extra punch somewhere on the card. Absolutely random. I had no clue.
Some people didn't get a paycheck, some people got thousands in their paycheck...bills didn't get paid, one vendor got paid $100k more than his invoice. I only heard it from a TV station, never saw it in the 'news'paper.
