It appears the "go to" manipulation to rig stocks higher - the so-called VIXtermination algo - has lost its juice...
A 1.5 vol crush in VIX managed a mere 6 point rise in the S&P 500 (20% of what would have been expected!!)

The market, to quote Dark Sith Lord Cheney, is in its last throes.
That was well tribulated.
It may have a small impact on the S&P but to VIX holders it's a kick in the balls at 3:45 every trading day lately
I'm sure they'll figure out something other way to get the results they so desire.
