Caught On Tape: Donald Trump Asked About Libertarianism

Reason’s editor in chief Nick Gillespie recently caught up with Donald Trump on the campaign trail and asked him about libertarianism. This is what ensued:
This exchange is troubling from several different angles.
First off, Trump does his typical dance in which he avoids questions he doesn’t want to answer by giving a simplistic jingoistic response.
He is clearly uncomfortable with the question. Why?
Overall, the above exchange is kind of unnecessary since it’s abundantly clear Trump is anti-liberty and anti-freedom.
Let’s recall what he said should be done with Edward Snowden. From a Washington Times story in 2013:
Edward Snowden, the man at the heart of the NSA information leaks, is nothing but a “traitor” — and America ought to recreate history in dealing with him, real estate mogul Donald Trump said on a “Fox & Friends” interview.
In other words, execute him, Mr. Trump implied.
“I think Snowden is a terrible threat, I think he’s a terrible traitor, and you know what we used to do in the good old days when we were a strong country — you know what we used to do to traitors, right?”

I'm guessing Trump will go the way of a comedian who only tells bathroom jokes and uses a lot of four-letter words. It's entertaining (to some) for a while, then it begins to wear. Trump is capitalizing on "not establishment not PC," which will work only until it's pointed out in large glowing neon letters that he is establishment, just hanging on the political fringe for years. The adults in the room will be looking for a serious contender, and that's when the rubber will encounter the road with a loud screech and a puff of ugly smoke.

Over 400 comments and Trump hardly said anything to a random question tossed out while he was walking. I really doubt anyone can name the views on libertarians held by the other top tier candidates in the next debate.

No advocate for government is a libertarian.
The closest to libertarianism that a government could ever be would be a government openly declaring the abolition of all laws, all legal tender, all public programs except for the military, police, the courts and tax collections. The courts would only ensure that contracts are followed and only because it would be convenient for the courts and judges themselves.
How so?
Judges would get fees for each case, they not be appointed by authority but by those issuing the contract themselves and that would provide an incentive for fairness since their income would depend on their reputation. Bad, activist judges would starve if no one were to demand their services.
The government would collect taxes to fund this all and grant property rights and physical security. They would not this out of their goodwill, but because it would benefit them.
How so?
Governments would not be sovereign, but straight for profit enterprises themselves that would never run deficits, trying to attract the best taxpayers to live under their jurisdiction, to minimize expenses, and to expel any troublemakers making the place unnapealing for the precious ones who pay taxes. In a libertarian world you have no allegiance to any government, but pick them like you pick which a cable provider or a landlord.
Bad governments would not get many subscribers, would not get a lot of taxes, their militaries would not be able to control their territory and would end up taken over in invasions by good governments.

I read somewhere Oregon just enacted a law that citizen vehicles would be taxed at 1.5 cents per mile driven. Because of higher mileage vehicles and hybred vehicles the tax per gallon is not bringing enough cash into state coffers. By law vehicles to be fitted with a mandated gps type tracker.
