Washington's Union Station Evacuated After Shots Fired
With America still reeling from a series of shootings over the past several months, Washington DC's Union Station has now been evacuated after shots rang out early Friday afternoon. Here are the "preliminary details" from WaPo:
A security guard at Union Station shot a person Friday afternoon, according to D.C. police.
Details were preliminary, said Lt. Sean Conboy, a police spokesman. The condition of the victim was not immediately available. The shooting occurred shortly before 1 p.m.

Back in the day 40 years ago new hires at Dupont swept floors for $16 an hr. until they found a spot for them. It does not make any difference what the job is you can't live on $15 and hr. in America in 2015

15 an hour for 40 a week 52 weeks a year is more than 30k a year. Assuming you don't need to live alone, and you buy everything from second hand stores and cook your own food, you can easily live on 30k a year. I lived in NYC from 1994 to 1996 on 6k a year. I ate beans and tortillas and slept in a tent in an unheated warehouse with as many as 8 other people. I didn't get a dime of public assistance. The problem is that people think they deserve something for nothing just for showing up. How in the world does punching icons on a register at a McDonalds equate to a roof over your head, medical treatment, entertainment, every modern convenience, children and food? Not only should they not get 15 dollars an hour, they should be replaced with vending machines.

I had the unfortunate occasion to see some CNN recently, they had a panel of "gun crime survivors" (mostly relatives of the dead) crying, carrying on and pounding the position that we must give up our guns now. Then there is our freeway shooter in the Phoenix area who bares quite a resemblence to that 9-11 time frame highway shooter and oh they are pumping the hysteria for everything it is worth.
