14 Year Old Texan, Ahmed Mohammed, Arrested For Home-Made Clock Because "It Looks Like A Bomb"
A perfect storm of Islamophobia and technophobia (as Wired.com's Marcus Wohlsen so eloquently put it) has erupted in Texas where high-school freshman Ahmed Mohamed was arrested Monday after bringing a homemade digital clock to MacArthur High. A teacher at the Irving school exclaimed "it looks like a bomb," resulting in a call to police. By mid-afternoon, police were leading the boy out of school in handcuffs and taking him to juvenile detention on suspicion of making a "hoax bomb." As Mike Krieger sums up so perfectly, America is a deeply fallen nation.
In his own words...
As Liberty Blitzkrieg's Mike Krieger details,
Police detained a 14-year-old Muslim boy after a teacher at his North Texas high school decided that a homemade clock he proudly brought to class looked like a bomb, according to school and police officials.
The family of Ahmed Mohamed said the boy was suspended for three days from MacArthur High School in the Dallas suburb of Irving after taking the clock to class on Monday.
The boy makes his own radios, repairs his own go-kart and on Sunday spent about 20 minutes before bedtime assembling a clock using a circuit board, power supply wired to a digital display and other items, The Dallas Morning News reported.
– From the ABC News article: Muslim Boy, 14, Detained for Making Clock Mistaken for Bomb
America is a deeply fallen nation. I don’t know how obvious it has to become before people come to grips and start to do something about it.
We haven’t decayed into this tepid abyss of immorality and decadence because of illegal immigrants, no matter what a two-bit demagogue preaching to desperate hordes infected with what Huxley referred to as herd-poisoning tells you. It’s entirely own our fault. We’ve allowed criminals and professional crony capitalists take to total control of the reins of power, and rather than fight against them, we aspire to become them. We have allowed them to scare us into submission by exploiting the tragic events of 9/11 to consolidate the world’s wealth into an increasingly small number of hands. Immigrants didn’t do this. We did, or at the very least, we allowed it to happen.
I harbor nostalgia for the days when Americans were merely ridiculed as being obese, McDonalds eating slobs ignorant of world affairs. We aren’t viewed with this combination of amusement and endearment any longer. Rather, the world now shudders with a mixture of disgust and horror in contemplation of what we have become. A decadent, clownish, wealth obsessed, corrupt, aggressive, war-mongering multitude of brainwashed imperial subjects. Worse yet, it’s not just ignorance anymore. There appears to be a idolization of anti-intellectualism running rampant, something on full display as of late with the ascendence of Donald Trump as a uniquely American strongman-savior. Not only is this stupid, it’s pathetic and dangerous.
America used to celebrate its eccentrics. The strange, creative, iconoclasts who, when allowed to, will generally change society for the better. In modern America, we put them in handcuffs. To illustrate this point, here’s an excerpt from my 2013 post, Remembering Internet Prodigy and Activist Aaron Swartz (1986-2013): Your Life is an Inspiration:
Despite this horrible tragedy, based on the outpouring of disgust even from the mainstream media, I am optimistic that Aaron’s death might actually represent a turning point. An event that can shake people out of their normalcy bias and force them to accept the sad reality they have been loath to admit. That our criminal “justice” system has been completely and totally co-opted by a ruthless, greedy and immoral oligarch class that seems hell bent on throwing the American public into a neo-feudal nightmare of debt slavery and ignorance.
Aaron was a treasure and a gift to the species and only a very sick and dying culture would have led to his premature end. We must look at ourselves in the mirror, accept this reality and change it immediately.
Unfortunately, not much has changed in these two and a half years. Our populace remains as fearful, paranoid and slavish as ever. More destitute, more desperate and more confused than ever before. Feverishly searching for a weak group to blame, and self-satisfied with their slobbering support for a casino billionaire who has provided an easy target. This is the culture that attacked and killed Aaron Swartz, and it is the culture that led to the arrest of a brilliant 14-year-old boy for building a homemade clock.
From ABC News:
The school district said in a statement that Ahmed was detained by police. Irving police spokesman James McLellan told the Morning News that police are determining whether to file a charge of making a hoax bomb.
This is so typical of the U.S. power structure. Rather than admitting fault for traumatizing a little boy for being particularly smart, they regroup in order to charge him with an invented crime.
So what’s the lesson here learned by Ahmed? That inventiveness and eccentricity are not only unappreciated in America, but that exhibiting such traits is dangerous. In contrast, when members of the so-called “elite” commit systemic theft and embark upon countless unnecessary and devastating wars abroad, they are rewarded with unimaginable wealth. This is the incentive structure in modern America, and is precisely why the country has morphed into little more than a neo-feudal imperial Banana Republic.
For a little more, here’s some coverage from the New York Times:
A high school student in Texas whose hobby was inventing thought he had a unique idea for a project: to build his own clock.
But the effort landed him in handcuffs and juvenile detention, accused of making a hoax bomb.
When Ahmed Mohamed, 14, brought the clock to MacArthur High School in Irving, Tex., on Monday, an engineering teacher suggested that he not show the invention to other teachers. But it beeped during an English class, prompting Ahmed to show his English teacher what it was, according to an account in The Dallas Morning News.
In a video posted on the newspaper’s website, Ahmed described how he was taken from school by the police. “They took me to a room filled with five officers,” he said. “They interrogated me, and searched through my stuff and took my tablet and my invention.”
He said he was fingerprinted, and mug shots were taken at a juvenile detention center. He was released when his parents came to retrieve him.
“It made me feel like a criminal,” he said. He was suspended for three days.
“It could reasonably be mistaken as a device if left in a bathroom or under a car. The concern was, what was this thing built for? Do we take him into custody?”
Read this line again and again and again until you get it. “The concern was, what was this thing built for?”
Perhaps it was built out of curiosity and passion, or perhaps it was just the spontaneous product of a creative and brilliant mind. So what? Why does it have to be built for a specific purpose? Instead of celebrating such a bright young boy, we criminalize him. It’s a symptom of a very sick and twisted society.
In his classic novel 1984, George Orwell wrote:
“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.”
He was wrong. It actually, it looks like this.

Ahmed’s arrest occurred in Texas. A state so proud of it’s small government stance, yet bizarrely ground zero for a multitude of statist practices.

Unfucking believable. When I was a schoolboy I made an alarm clock from a kit (Heath). I guess I would be considered a terrorist today-- not a kid wanting to learn how electonics worked.
The next.step: thinking of making a clock.
The next next step: Thinking
I say ship that emaciated little jihadi-to-be off to Gitmo..
He really needs to be force fed.
Even with an incompetent lawyer, Ahmed woud stand to make a serious about of ching off the mentally impaired School Board and cops.
Hopefully, he'll get a good enough lawyer that his entire college tuition is paid for and he has plenty left over for hookers and blow on every Spring Break.
Texas. The hope of America.
The 13 year old boy charged with assualt for kissing a 14 year old girl is even more insane.
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/09/15/13-year-olds-stolen-kiss-bring...
woo hoo!
free dumb.
Ok, so the sub-thread in which I posted where I said...
"if he wired the batteries wrong..." got deleted... That's the first thread deletion I've seen at ZH.... I surmise this is because I said too much about bombmaking?
Probably not. Log out and then log back into zero hedge. I was having similar issues last weekend and that cleared it up.
Nope, it's gone. But actually the entire thread is gone, including the original user who started it. His page is "not found"... so, not my problem. Weird, first time I saw major moderation on ZH.
I've seen posts moved from the bottom to the top and vice versa.
I assume it was to make the comments look a little more intelligent instead of the proverbial "First" you occasionally see.
Never seen one of my posts removed, though.
Back to the story...
I guess all those Estes rockets and chemistry sets I used to play with as a kid would get me waterboarded today.
I used to take Dad's cigar tubes and make incindiary rockets with them by inserting match heads, black powder and gas soaked cotton balls inside. The rocket engine would light off the concoction. Best viewed at night. I once lit the highway median on fire too with one of the cigar rockets.
1977 Jihad, motherfuckers.
Nice!
We used to make Thermite. Man that stuff lit up!
I shake my head toward this well-to-do, everyone is a predator, nanny state in which we live. People need to chill the fuck out and realize that kids will be kids.
This is another problem with America. Sue happy. If they have reason to arrest, then so be it......I will follow to see.
another mass-media brainwash attempt
14 years old muslim built a bomb-timer and brought it to school, gets arrested and now he is a hero
WOW well done muhammad for building bomb-timer with 14
if you want to blow up something in america, you should start with the fed
Muslims and America just do not mix well.
why? because freedom of religion only refers to christians?
no it refers to jews in christian countries
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUejNFJYN2I
edit: and jews in muslim countries
Islam is about fascist political control cloaked by a thick layer of pseudo-spiritual BS.
The word “Islam” translates in English to “submit or surrender”
The megalomaniacs called mullahs and ayatollahs want to regulate every aspect of daily life to consolidate their power, for self-gratification and to insulate themselves from the dysfunction their policies create.
Hmm.. sounds like the model Washington DC is using.
Everyone knows that a real bomb looks like a black ball with a wick on top.
No, that's only Iranian ones.
That's the thing. Only a knitwit police force would have sent a knitwit cop to the school to investigate the "bomb" and determine that little Ahmed has to be ARRESTED.
It's un-freaking-believalbe. I still think this is a weird dream and I'm going to wake up any moment.
Exactly. If there was no bomb squad with all kinds of bomb experts on site, the police did not think this was a bomb either. This is all theatre to play with our heads. The kid and teachers are probably in on it too.
Dude! He put a clock on the side of a suitcase. How does that NOT look like a bomb? LOL
This should be a lesson to the kid. Don't be suprised when you get detained for making something that LOOKS LIKE A BOMB. This is about as stupid as someone making bomb jokes at the airport. Don't be suprised what happens next. it's all fairly predictable. That said, i like the kid. He's learned one of the hard lessons in life - Behavior is predictable. Like telling my kid, 'don't be suprised to get bad grades if you argue Global Warming with your Science teacher in a Seattle public school'.
A fucking SUITCASE? No, he put it in a littel PENCIL CASE that LOOKS like a... well, it looks like a little damn make-up or pencil case shaped like a carrying case. Anyone with a teenager has seen one of these. It looks comical, not threatening. Unless your a f'king elf terrorist. Actually, the little project boxes you buy for home hobby electronics look a lot more damn suspicious.
If Ahmed was smart, he would have used the pink Hello Kitty version and then said he preferred not to identify with either gender and the cops forced him to use a male-only bathroom - that would have been worth at least another $100,000 on his lawsuit from those neanderthals.
I have a Hello Kitty sticker on my AR-15. Honestly, it really looks a lot less scary. I probably should have got it in pink to accentuate that.
Miffed;-)
Exactly, its not what the case looks like. The question is, why put it in a case that size in the fist place if you are only making a clock?
Used to use a pressure cooker alot for canning.
If you had a circuit board, cabling, a 7-seg clock display, and the smarts to write software for it, wouldn't you want to make a nice enclosure to encapsulate the details like a real product?
Wait a tick... that's terrizz, isn't it.
All product design involving enclosures is terrizz by your logic.
That doesn't mean your contraption doesn't look like a bomb
Yes, let's keep talking about the kid being an idiot for not running from the disease instead of talking about the real issue: The disease.
When they took the cuffs off him I bet he really did then feel like going home and attaching his clock to a bomb. That's what soo unbelievably stupid about the War on Terra: it creates Terra.
Oops perhaps not so stupid if your entire economy relies on killing brown people in faraway lands
You know about Ukraine and Bosnia ?
The psychopaths will gladly kill white people too.
They are Equal Opportunity murderers.
Bumpo, you win the ZH idiot award today.
Retard
If you point a plastic gun at a cop with the orange tip taken off, would you be suprised if you were shot? If so, YOU'RE THE RETARD
Reminds me of when guerilla marketers put up those hilarious Mooninite LED signs that would randomly come on for a few seconds. They had little magnets in back so people would stick them up all over the place. They would roll the bomb squads to 'investigate' these things.

Just for you, Miffed (It's not my daughter).
And just out of curiosity, yeah... pink.
Here's another view of the clock. You have to scroll down a few paragraphs to see the photo. Reminds me of something from an old James Bond movie.

Meat Hammer : " The next next step: Thinking "
Talk to a high school or college kid recently ?
Thinking, curiosity, and creativity were murdered in most of them a long time ago.
True, but there are still a few remaining....for now.
Give him a fair [and balanced] trial then off to the clinker for him...looks like a vicious,blood-sucking, cold-hearted terrist to me. Just look at that face!
Just look at that face!
Kinda looks Jewish don't it? Other than his name.
Semites look semite...now that is a surprise
Thinking, curiosity, and creativity are part of human nature. Get kids away from these abusive institutions and these qualities come out.
Recently someone mentioned when the kids went back to school after summer break. My reaction - " Poor kids. Too bad for them. "
Public Schools and "Common Core" now specifically designed to hinder those traits, traits that could make humanity a great existence. .gov ain't having none of that
A teacher I know expresed her alarm at how Common Core is hurting her students. She is one of the caring and somewhat intelligent, but extremely naive - often found in that field. She fights with the evidence right before her eyes versus the b.s. she is told. But she can't quite face up to reality.
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”
- Upton Sinclair
"Thinking, curiosity, and creativity were murdered in most of them a long time ago."
See the Carl Sagan quotes just below...
Looks like you've had a bit too much to think
"The next next step: Thinking"
From Carl Sagan:
“I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time -- when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness...
The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance”
And again from Carl Sagan:
“An extraterrestrial being, newly arrived on Earth - scrutinizing what we mainly present to our children in television, radio, movies, newspapers, magazines, the comics, and many books - might easily conclude that we are intent on teaching them murder, rape, cruelty, superstition, credulity, and consumerism. We keep at it, and through constant repetition many of them finally get it. What kind of society could we create if, instead, we drummed into them science and a sense of hope?”
I see your Sagan quote and I raise you... another Sagan quote
“Every kid starts out as a natural-born scientist, and then we beat it out of them (sic or arrest it out of them). A few trickle through the system with their wonder and enthusiasm for science intact.” —Carl Sagan
This would be a good case for the ACLU. Unless the boys actions hinted that it was s bomb, there was nothing that he did wrong other than wanting to share his innovation with his teachers.
This type of innovation and drive should be celebrated, not condemned.
I wonder if the outcome would have been different if he wasn't Muslim. If so, then this was clearly a case of racial profiling.
And rightly so.
We radicalized some folks. :/
No ssale. If your name is Mohammad you don't get the benefit of the doubt.
In my youth, when we weren't looking for porn, we were thinking and scheming to blow shit up, that's it. Then when we turned 14 we could go dove hunting, which meant shooting a 12 guage at anything we wanted to. I swear the ammo companies put abondoned cars in the river bed for us to waste ammo. And they sold the ammo at 7-11.
Yep. We made gunpowder - or at least tried to. Stuff just fizzzed.. lol
We were all little Sergeant Rock’s and Howling Commando’s back in the day before Nick Fury got his deep tan.
M-80’s were the real deal then and we did blow stuff up.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sgt._Fury_and_his_Howling_Commandos
(Disney will probably have Junior Juniper come back as a trannie.)
(..and if I had kept all my kid comics and baseball cards, I could be living on the south island of NZ right now)
One of the kids at school made nitro glycerin in the science lab and the bomb squad was called to get rid of it and he got a two week suspention , it was right at the end of school year so it was just a longer holiday.
We used to blow shit up everybody knew, and nobody cared. If nothing else they found it funny. They used to call us mad scientists, but that was it.
What's the harm in checking it out? The Kid and PC crowd need to grow the fuck up. If a kid, white, black or hispanic, is suspect to having a knife, gun or explosive, their lockers are searched. AND FOR DAMN GOOD REASON. Why should it matter if you're a Muslim nerd?
Welcome to Texas. Don't mess with is, we're FREE.
TEXISS! WHOO HOO! THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN! NOW GO RAISE A CONFEDERATE FLAG SOMEWHERE, BOY!
"TEXISS! WHOO HOO! THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN! NOW GO RAISE A CONFEDERATE FLAG SOMEWHERE, BOY!"
Any other requests?
The thing is that after they checked it out and figured it was not a bomb (something the teacher alone could have done) they still cuffed and suspended him.
I don't care who you are, no teacher, never mind Profs are savvy enough to decern a detonation timer from their shoelaces.
One thing that jumped out at me, from teh article:
"an engineering teacher suggested that he not show the invention to other teachers".
Ok so the engineer/science guy recognized the device as harmless and didn't call the cops.
But, wait for it...
"but it beeped during an English class, prompting Ahmed to show his English teacher what it was"
I don't see a crime here. The only victim is the boy. And the dumball english teacher is to blame for all of it.
See something say something.
It's a failure of the whole system. So the teacher was unsure and perhaps a bit alarmed, but I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and opine that she wasn't the one who called in the cops. The principal did.
The proper thing to do was to ask the kid what it was and ask him to open the box. They could have waited in the next room if they were really that paranoid. If they couldn't tell that it wasn't a bomb themselves, they should have called in the engineering teacher. Or maybe just asked the kid to explain it to them... reeeeaaalll slooooowww.
By the way, had I been on that school board, there would have been an emergency meeting that night to remove the principal from his position due to gross incompetence, an immediate apology would have gone out to the boy and his parents, and the English teacher would have been the one that got the three-day suspension.
Obviously you were taught in American public 'schools'.
Re-read the article slowly. It might take one or more times for you.. See the thinking flaws in the reaction of the moron-teachers ?
If you don't see those flaws, who knows - you may even have an 'Education' degree. In that case, youre likely a lost cause.
I agree. Once the police were called in, there is no going back. All hell breaks loose with protocal. The kid said he showed it to the teacher. Unless he opened it, and showed him what was inside (not mentioned in the video), I myself would not want to open the suitcase if the kid was radical nutjob. The kid has some questionable behavior here, putting a digital clock on the side of a metal case .. uhm.
Another thing, the article assumes he was questioned because he is Muslim. That's kind of a racist leap of logic on the article's part in itself.
http://understandingteenagers.com.au/blog/2010/09/why-teenagers-take-risks/
We were all like that when we were kids.
Here hold my beer.
Not acceptable behavior today.
Im just saying, don't be suprised if some dumbass thinks its a bomb, when it LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE A BOMB, LOL
You avatar looks gay.
Must mean you're gay.
Get a real avatar.
See how that works, Sparky?
Yep. The world's smallest bomb. Look at the size of the lock in comparison to the rest of the box. If anything, it looks more like a pencil box.
But don't let that deter you from snorting condescendingly at the kid. Blaming the victim is pretty much how we roll anymore.
I disagree with 'it looks like a bomb'.
From the pictures I have seen, I think that any reasonably inteeligent person can see that it is nothing more than a few LED with a circuit board and batteries. i.e. It has no explosive material or parts. While I can maybe forgive or understand no one at the school not knowing what they were looking at with the way things are today (30 or 40 years ago most men would have recognized and understood what they were looking at, today I think we would be lucky f most men could identify the battery, circuitboard/IC and LED parts and knew what they did), I can not believe that the police did not know what it was.
I remember when I was kid in west texas a guy brought a bomb detonator he was working on to school. We were just like, whatever. He likes to make stuff.
hell, we had a guy from the local quarry show up for "what my dad does for work" day and show us how he worked with blasting caps, fuses, timers, etc.
if you did something like that today they'd waterboard your ass until your tonsils looked like prunes... bunch of fucking pussies...
this is absolutely fucking ridiculous... if I were the parents of that kid I'd sue the school into oblivion, then do the same to Irving PD... not that I would expect anything less from the mouth breathing slope headed knuckle draggers in motherfucking Irving...
so, stuff that I used to do routinely as a kid and that got me started on my career in engineering will now get your ass slapped in cuffs, get your prints and photos on record to go into who-knows-what database for-e-ver, and basically will scar you for life from ever wanting to interact with teachers or police...
way to go Irving, you bunch of fucking dumbass FASCISTS...
Student Mohammed should leave the bombing to adults.
http://www.infowars.com/proof-the-okc-bombing-was-an-inside-job/
I made an alarm clock from a kit (Heath).
I made one from a no name kit and put it into a 3X5 card box with a clear plastic lid. Still have it.
RE: "I guess I would be considered a terrorist today-- not a kid wanting to learn how electonics worked."
I dunno. Are you caucasian?
Quick grab him. Look, he combs his hair like Lee Harvey Oswald.
I felt like a criminal(and that I was robbed of $85) as well when I was forced to get permission, fingerprinted, and pay to be able to exercise my 2nd Amendment Rights....
At least you came away with your right to bear arms.
Me? becase of a non-violent offence that occured 13 yrs. ago, sadly, will never legally be able to own a bar or a gun..
Drunk driving?
Grade A..... nugz
Sounds more like permission to exercise a privalege.
Can't help you with owning a bar, but do some reasearch on pre 1899 antique firearms. :P
Then this is not a right. A right is God-given and is only regulated by him.....oh well.
The only rights anyone has are those they are willing to defend.
Obama invited this kid to the white house.
Said "cool clock bring it to the white house we should inspire your innovation. it's what makes america great"
Yeah, cool innovation Ahmed. The clock was invented 600 years ago by a white guy. Why the fuck are people spinning this as genius? It's a fucking clock. He shouldn't have been arrested but lets stop comparing him to Steve Jobs, Mozart or Tim Berners Lee. Ok?
I just made a paper airplane at my desk. Where's my White House invite for innovation and brilliance?
So, you're saying that you could take a circuit board, LED display, and some wires, and figure out (that is what invent means) how to build a clock When you were a freshman in High School.
I bet you spent most of your 9th grade year in school hiding in the bathroom smoking, or jacking off!
Disgusting!
Actually when I was his age I built a remote controlled plane from a kit, a go-cart, and model rockets (actually calculating the trajectory so I could shoot them at different angles and be able to find them). I was also learning code and how to program by teaching myself after school as none of those classes were available back in those days.
Good job on the clock. Give him a Nobel In Science. He deserves it.
Not the fucking point. He had a CLOCK, and they called it a BOMB. Paranoid militarized shit-scared morons is the point. And they run the world. Feel safer?
If you read my first fucking comment I said he shouldn't have fucking be arrested. But I will not assail him as child prodigy either.
Good thing he didn't print an AK to bring to school.
The Day after the 9 11 remembrance.
9/11 Rememberance. Remember those who died. Get real about who did the killing.
Who said the kid is a genius ? (I don't know if he is one or not). I built the same kind of electronics projects as a kid when his age. So did a lot of other boys. Kids are naturally creative & curious, before 'school' destroys that. - - Youre missing the point.
The real subject is the paranoid police state mentality that turns Amerika into one big prison. And, how stupid and ignorant are many of those running 'schools' today. If someone took the electronic alarm clock that wakes them each morning out of its enclosure, & showed it to them, - theyd probabably have a heart attack. " It looks like a bomb ! "
In Amerika we're probably on a list for even discussing this subject.
The difference, of course, is that a six year old of normal intelligence can make a paper airplane. Not many fourteen year olds can make a clock.
Lots of 14 year olds used to make electronic clocks.
Has it gotten this bad ?
No wonder the Indians and Chinese are kicking our ass.
I'm going to wager there's more to this story than we see in the first draft.
Mohammads and rigged electronic clocks are not the most innocent combination.
I'd honestly prefer to do without Mohammadeans in this country entirely, they are all trouble and no benefit.
Bingo.
Diversity is our greatest strife!
No muslims. No problem.
Assholes like you are "our" greatest strife.
Seriously, getting rid of assholes like you would make our country stronger. Too bad you have right to live here, just like Muslims.

When will these morons get the message that the muzzies didn't do 9/11? It was a false flag, courtesy of your government and the israeli state. You clowns want to hate someone useful, I suggest the other semites in the room.

Coming to merika soon...
As a nerd I feel compelled to point out, how many 14 or younger people do you know that have any interest in building electronic devices? In this case it was a clock. More than likely he isn't a genius but is pretty darn smart and probably has an IQ in the 115-125 range. The fact that he had to deal with this bull shit is flat out wrong and just shows how over board the fear mongering has gone in this "free"nation. This is bull shit. This is the same shit you hear about when a young boy gets in trouble for drawing a picture of a gun, or a kindergartner kissing another kindergartner girl on the cheek. Political correctness mixed with non stop fear is a recipe for disaster. Yeah diversity sucks sometimes and I choose to live in a non-diverse community but this is a 14 yr old. It has nothing to do with Muslims it has to do with miss appropriated use of Gov't force, a out of control immigration policy and a education system that is completely F'ed up.
You want to be mad at someone, be mad at yourself for not knowing how to hold elected officials to their oaths of office. Hey Zerohedge want to write an article based on some research. HOW DO WE AS PEOPLE BRING CHARGES AGAINST ELECTED OFFICIALS FOR NOT HONORING THEIR OATHS OF OFFICE?
I have heard it has something to do with putting a claim in against the bonds that are in place once they take office. How you do that I have no idea.
Do some research on Affidavits and U.C.C. (Uniform Commercial Code)
I built a transmitter when I got my first Radio Shack 100 in one projects kit...(trying to remember if I was younger than 14 but pretty sure I was.) The moment I realized that by wiring up different capacitors in different combinations I could interfere with the local television broadcasts (3 american channels, 3 canadian channels, and 2 pbs channels), I promptly built up a circuit to do just that, and knocked out the neighbor's television viewing for a few houses around mine... (under today's laws, I'd definitely be considered a terrorist)
This stuff is not as "rocket scientist" as they would have you believe. The kid needs a great lawyer to guarantee a free ride for the rest of his life.
Last I checked very few middle easterners / Asians / Indians are on welfare here. Most are doctors, engineers, programmers, and what not, ya know, the few groups that actually still produce something in this country.
And how did you check?
Right here, now fuck off and die. http://www.epi.org/blog/real-median-household-incomes-racial-groups/
Well, it turns out that of the new wave of Middle Eastern "refugees" we've been importing in the Obama years, 92% of them are in fact on welfare.
Ahh, more "undocumented decepticratic voters."
Right here
I checked. There is no answer to the question on that page.
Indians and most Asians are the ethnic groups that climb the social ladder the fastest in this country. They go from selling you gum at 7-11 to their kids being doctors in one to two generations. They have discipline and a tight family unit where Men and Women accept, excel at, and honor their roles as parents. Simply put the kids come first before their own happiness.
Its genetic. They have the DNA.
it's culture and birthrate, actually... they're more likely to have someone in the family who is smart because they have more than two kids, and as mentioned elsewhere their culture is wired to pour everything they have into the well being of their children...
its dna
judaism: on average successful wealthy but ugly and extremly ignorant man marries smart woman: 2 or 3 halfway smart children are born, but extremly ignorant
christans: on average fag-idiot marries ignorant cunt: one or two fag-ignorant cunt children are born, but at least some of them tend to be smart
muslims: on average agressive ignorant balding stinky fat ugly man without sense marries underage retad woman: 4 till 12 diabetes sick fat stupid ugly retard and agressive children without sense are born
buddhism: smart kind beatiful and successful man marries smart kind beatiful and more or less successful woman: smart kind beautiful and successful children are born

if there was a plus gazillion button for posts, you'd get a click from me...
I'd take 100 of him over 1 of you.
Just a kid demonstrating innovation. Not sitting in front of his XBox practicing for WW3.
yeah real innovative, rigging a timepiece perfect for a homemade bomb
what would we do without these Mohammads?
You are exceptionally stupid.
I comfort myself with the thought of not having to deal with people like you.
In 5 years, will he be at MIT on a full scholarship or in the middle east making bombs. My bet is ..............
... both? neither? Georgia Tech instead?
I'd honestly prefer to do without Mohammadeans in this country entirely, they are all trouble and no benefit.
I know some Iranian college profs. My kids grew up with their kids. Nice kids.
I'm for treating people as individuals.
Texas is great, but not an exception to the rule. The administrators that suspended him are the same baffons that saw Bibi hold up the Wilee Coyote fuzed bomb sketch to represent Iran's nuke program, and just trembled with fear.
Texas ain't great. I was born here and still live here and there is nothing "special" about Texas.
Never trust the .gov
The wheels on the bus go round and round.
Maybe Texas ain't perfect, but move to Illinois, New York, New Jersey, California, etc. and then come back and tell me how it is.
My middle child's Texas public school teacher is lecturing on the definitional differences of "fair" and "equal" as pertains to opportunity versus outcome. She's a wonderful educator.
In Kentucky, my daughter was shipped into a lower income community 7 miles from our house instead of the top grade school down the street in order to achieve a more balanced socio-economic mix, where she was promptly put into a split grade of the top third graders and all the ghetto, trouble making idiot 4 graders. Makes perfect sense.
Took me 40 years to get to Texas, but it's better than many of the other options average joe like me has available with wife, 3 kids, dogs, etc. in tow, fucker.
Yeah, but we have clowns in the legislature and the governor's mansion (just ask Dr Paul). "Our" schools are gubmint schools. Property taxes (if you lean that way) are sky high. Cops are gubmint gun thugs just like everywhere else.
This whole highschool kid shitshow was a gubmint production from the get go, as was the dumbing down of the populace that enables it.
How do you turn it around once these cowardly, meddling gubmint sociopaths are entrenched? Tough call, because, like the Doc says, they have the guns.
My property taxes in Dallas were 9k a year (average house) and climbing. A good friend was paying almost 25k a year and the house was only worth about 800-900k. No kids for either of us.
Wasteful DISD.
Better in the hill country with acreage but still...
Wile E. Coyote. F'n hilarious!
PS You're not the only one to make the connection!: http://modonjon.blogspot.com/2012/09/netanyahu-solicits-wile-e-coyote-to...
Oh good, brilliant. Stupid apes, beginning with the ignorant chimp of a teacher.
Now Mr. Obama you can say, "the police acted stupidly" I'll accept that.
Jeeze Louise! I hope that his family sues the living crap out of the cops, the school, and the teacher(s) involved. The whole family will be set for life, and maybe the City of Irving will fire the dimbulbs and hire people with some basic common sense...
The problem is the City of Irving will put a gun to the rest of the people's heads to pay them off.
Government has nothing which it did not first obtain by force.
pods
Which is when the community fires every fool in the chain from dimwit teacher to the cops that booked the kid and passes a nice ordinance to confiscates the assets of the lot responsible for this and anything remotely like it at the local municipal board in stead of allowing these jackasses to act with such impunity and pass the cost of abusing their positions on to the rest of the community.
Bingo!
The "City" of Irving (the .gov employees) will pay nothing.
The cost of settling the suit will simply be passed along to the taxpayers, with neither the city attorney (who passes on the merits of the case), nor the police, nor the school principal/teacher/etc. be made to pay one dime, nor suffer the consequences of their actions.
Mark Passio said it well - " Government is a religion, it is a way of thinking. "
People think 'government' is a Thing. It is not.
You can't show someone 'the government' because its just a word, a concept, a way of thinking. You can only show someone a guy wearing an 'official' uniform or some office building occupied by a lot of people paid 'government' checks, etc. All of them believe the illusion that 'government' is a real Thing. And, many of the taxpayers (extortion victims) are under that same illusion. Ultimately, it comes down to the belief in false 'authority'. It comes down to wanting a substitute 'Mommy' and 'Daddy' figure to take care of people and 'protect' people. ( Why would people pay so much attention to the election debates - except that they hope for a new Mommy/Daddy figure to save them ? )
You have the right to do whatever does not harm or interfere with the natural rights of others. You can have your own preferences, and you can advocate for them all you want. You do not have the right to impose those on others. Pretty simple. And you can see, - that most written 'laws' are pure bullshit.
Most people believe in the religion of false 'authority' which includes a belief that 'government' is a real thing. Is it any surprise that government employees (teachers, principal, cops) would act so stupidly ? And those living in that community believe in the illusion also.
People run from real Freedom as fast as they can. They can't handle real Freedom or the Truth. And maybe they'd blow up the planet before giving up their illusions.
We'll see.
First they came for the cultists...
Then they came for the bikers...
Then the came for the clock makers...
Seems we've been down this road many times before.
and now he is considering building a bomb.
My friend did this in junior high school decades back, except he actually put something on it which looked like it could be dynamite, unlike this kid's clock. The teacher saw it, borrowed it and put it on the desk of another teacher she was friends with to tease her. She called the principal thinking it was a bomb and he looked at it and laughed. No police were involved and my friend got to stay after school for being an idiot. Life was simpler then.
In some other state this may not have happend; if the boy had been white, this may not have happened; if the boy had not been a Muslim, this may not have happened. Only by a Texan, where the inventor was dark skinned, Muslim-American, would this have become a national/international story!
You are kidding.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/boy-suspended-pop-tart-gun-offi...
Many of you built this shit assed quilt of fear and deny that you want to live with the consequences.
in those days there were so few Mohammadeans here, 80% of the population had never heard of Islam
and now that they're here, even perfectly innocent behavior requires a bomb squad just in case
When I was 13 my best friend made a real fake bomb out of clay and wires and brought it to school to scare everyone. It looked real. I think he got a detention and had to stay after school for an hour.
