Russia Says It May Send Troops Into Combat In Syria As A Worried Netanyahu Heads To Moscow

Tyler Durden's picture

On Thursday evening, we detailed a Reuters report which suggested that the influx of Russian technical and logistical support to Bashar al-Assad’s depleted army at Latakia might have breathed new life into the regime as it seeks to rout Islamic State and a whole host of other armed groups fighting for control of Syria. “Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem said on Thursday Russia had provided new weapons and trained Syrian troops how to use them,” Reuters said, before describing what certainly sounds like an invigorated air campaign against the de facto ISIS capital at Raqqa.

Importantly, al-Moualem also indicated that Syria would be willing to make an official request for Russian combat troops “if needed.”

Now clearly, it seems likely that Russian troops have already joined the battle and indeed, when the bullets start flying, the distinction between “logistical” support and “combat” support quickly becomes blurred, but through all the sabre rattling and back-and-forth banter between Kerry and Lavrov, both sides are still keen to at least pay lip service to the unwritten rules of international diplomacy which is why before Russia can admit that its troops are actually on the ground to fight, they’ll be a charade where Syria will pretend to be raising the issue with the Kremlin for the first time at which point the Kremlin will take a few days to “consider” things. As of Friday, it appears as though that process has begun. Here’s Bloomberg:

Russia said it’s willing to consider sending troops into combat operations in Syria if President Bashar al-Assad’s government requests assistance.

While the possibility is hypothetical now, “if there is a request, it will be discussed as part of bilateral contacts,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a conference call on Friday. “Of course it will be discussed and considered.”

The prospect of direct Russian involvement in the country’s civil war, in which more than 250,000 people have died since 2011, would mark a sharp escalation in President Vladimir Putin’s support for the embattled Assad government. The U.S. has accused Russia of increasing military aid to Syria in recent weeks by sending tanks, artillery and personnel, as well as setting up what the Pentagon says might be a forward airbase near the coastal city of Latakia. Syria also hosts Russia’s only naval facility outside the former Soviet Union at Tartus.

The possibility of troop involvement emerged before a visit to Moscow by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday for talks with Putin about Russia’s growing military involvement in Syria. Netanyahu “will present the threats posed to Israel as a result of the increased flow of advanced war material to the Syrian arena and the transfer of deadly weapons to Hezbollah and other terror organizations,” the Israeli government said in an e-mailed statement on Wednesday.

To be sure, Netanyahu’s Russian visit comes at an interesting time. In the US, the last challenge to the Iran nuclear deal was defeated in the Senate on Thursday, paving the way for the agreement’s implementation. Needless to say, Netanyahu isn’t particularly pleased with The White House’s stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions and US-Israeli relations have deteriorated markedly this year thanks in large part to the Iran deal. But the Israeli PM is also concerned that Russia’s move to reinforce Assad could have implications for Hezbollah, something Netanyahu and Putin will discuss on Monday. Here’s Reuters:

Western officials and a Russian source said last week that Russia was sending an advanced anti-aircraft missile system to Syria in support of Assad.

The Western officials said the SA-22 system would be operated by Russian troops. A U.S. official, who confirmed the information, said the system may be part of a Russian effort to bolster defences at an airfield near Latakia, an Assad stronghold.

Even if Russians operated the missiles and kept them out of the hands of the Syrian army, the arrival of such an advanced anti-aircraft system could unsettle Israel, which in the past has bombed sophisticated arms it suspected were being handed to Assad's Lebanese guerrilla allies, Hezbollah.

(Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah)

Worried about accidentally coming to blows with Russian reinforcements in Syria, Israeli officials said last week they were in contact with Moscow. But Israel also made clear it would continue its policy of stopping advanced arms reaching Hezbollah.

And let’s not forget that just one month ago, Israel hit targets inside Syria after Damascus-based Islamic Jihad lobbed rockets at a village in Northern Israel. Netanyahu claimed the militants were acting on order from an "Iranian general."

“This is another clear and blatant demonstration of Iran’s continued and unabating support and involvement in terrorist attacks against Israel and in the region in general. This attack has also occurred before the ink on the . . . nuclear agreement has even dried, and provided a clear indication of how Iran intends to continue to pursue its destabilising actions and policies as the international sanctions regime is withdrawn in the near future,” Israel's foreign ministry said at the time.

That came just four weeks after Quds commander Qassem Soleimani reportedly met with Vladimir Putin in Moscow where, according to GOP mouthpiece Fox News, the Russian and Iranian leaders discussed "a new joint military plan to strengthen Syrian President Bashar Assad, a plan that is now playing out with the insertion of Russian forces in Syria."

In what looks like a rather conveniently timed announcement ahead of Netanyahu's trip to Russia, the Treasury said on Thursday that any Iranian bank receiving sanctions relief as part of the Iran nuclear deal would have sanctions re-imposed in the event they support Hezbollah or the Quds.

(Soleimani who, according to a CIA officer who spoke to The New Yorker in 2013, is "the most powerful operative in the Middle East today")

So this is the backdrop for Netanyahu's visit to the Kremlin and, as mentioned above, it's complicated by the fact that the Prime Minister is now at odds with the US over Washington's handling of the Iran Nuclear Deal. At the end of the day, one is certainly left to believe that Israel's "worries about accidentally coming to blows with Russian reinforcements in Syria" will quickly evaporate should Netanyahu get confirmation that the Quds are indeed on the ground as some reports have recently suggested and if it becomes clear that weapons are being funneled to Hezbollah, well, then all bets will officially be off.

Alright Tarabel, I'll take the bait. Yes, it scores full points using disposable dupes to carry out your dirty deeds. Self-motivated ones at that.

Russian troops in Syria probably means tactical nukes, I should think as a matter of standard Kremlin policy.

Now the interesting thing about that is, one or several of those might be left behind "on accident" and find their way into Syrian meaning ISIS meaning Muslim hands.

Not trying to inspire Muzzy-hating, just offering it as another input for your individual risk models. And should have kept Russia out of Syria, meaning should have not fucked in Syrian affairs from the get-go. Good job, neocons.

Non-nuclear ballistic missiles. But just to keep everyone guessing, it won't be obvious that they are non-nuclear until they come to earth.

Tactical nukes are reserved for an army that sets foot on the territory of the Russian respubliks.

Russia is a for-profit country.

It does not pretend to have a moral policy and it has no intention of taking into consideration a foreign interest which does not serve it. Moscow’s support for Assad could actually serve Israel’s interests – it could potentially bring stability, which is currently the best scenario for Israel.

Assad, bloodied and weak, will continue to control Damascus and the seaports, ISIS will remain in the East and Hezbollah will continue to be tied up in Syria.

The issue here is Netanyahu and Israel just HATE it that Hezbollah can defend itself and Lebanon from Israeli aggression and its drive to steal yet more land for Greater Israel - based on absolute rubbish accounts from the bible.

I personally have many Jewish friends, and have worked with many, many Jews in my career in the retail/wholesale/import business.  I still do not want any dual citizens in upper levels of government or in elected office, or in dominate positions of the military industrial complex, or in control of the financial industry.  If Israel is the nationality you identify with, fine, but stay in the private sector and away from the levers of power in America.

For now, maybe, but that is a major strategic defeat.

But I'd say they are more concerned about the situation in five and ten years from now if Russian/Iran/Syria/Hezbollah succeed.

They probably calculate the outcome for them would be far better if Assad falls and then they have to go in to Syria and Lebanon in a major campaign, with Western air support and cover.

Assad gone, Russia gone, Iran gone, Hezbollah smashed.

They'd rather that outcome.

So this is my guess at what is probably Nuttywho's thinking and position;

"Hey, Vlad, we will make you lose, so make a deal with me now, and we can avoid this."

I would think that Israel would rather have unfriendly but stable countries around it than a giant
lawless chaotic cluster fuck from which it could be attacked at any moment by a stateless enemy that thrives in a Mad Max environment.
An established but unfriendly government may bark a lot and be annoying but most likely will not attack as an attack would put it in danger as well.
Mad Max road warriors on the other hand might not give a shit or calculate that Israel will retaliate against the wrong group or region.

wrong barking cat; Israel has longed to be surrounded by weak states; just as England controlled India by pitting one group against the other.

Englands global strategy was to always ally with have two or three of the 4 strongest countries in the world at odds with or fighting each other (when England was in the group of 3 largest countries).   They had France fight Russia (Napoleon), then Germany fight Russia (WWI and WW2), then the US fight Russia (cold war)

Sorry Barking Cat, disagree, go back to 2006 and look at the statements Assad made right after the ceasefire. And look at the subsequent Israeli attack on what they called a suspected Syrian secret nuclear reactor under construction.

The Jews are paranoid about Assad and they are more afraid of a much stronger Hezbollah, and a Russian and Iran backed Assad, who may become nuclear armed and demand the Golan Back.

Also, the Propaganda site "Syrian Perspective" has been reporting all along that when they make large attacks on rebel and ISIS areas they keep on finding large cashes of Israeli and Western weapons (as well as captured Syrian weapons of course).

Well the rebels have been given plenty of western weapons, and ISIS have capture many Western weapons, but where did all these Israeli weapons come from?

No explanation except they were supplied by Israel.

The Syrian State is quite convinced this is a Western and Israeli proxy attack on Syria, and they have a lot of reason to think so apparently.

So no, I do not think Israel wants Assad there, because they don;t want Iran there and they sure don;t want Hezbollah there with better and better weapons, combat experience and support. and the definitely do not want the Russians there.

Get rid of Assad and it all stops.

Problem:  22.5 million Syrians are getting slaughtered and destroyed to serve that end (only about 1 million less than the population of Australia), and that is why this must end. If Assad falls the Mad Max creeps will make Pol Pot  and Hitler look like pikers.

And it's more than evident that Israel and nuttyahoo are not the slightest bit concerned about +20 million people getting the ISIS treatment, or else Israel would be helping Assad if Israel really wanted a stable but fairly unfriendly, but viable neighbor, rather than a weak cult-murder non-state, under constant air attack.

Personally:  I'm in favor of Assad remaining, not because I take political sides, I don't, but because I want the Syrian people to have a functional secure state again that they can live in, like they had in 2010, rather than all the present alternatives. And I'm not too picky who brings that about. But there is a devious group in Washington who would rather have the mad-max outcomes. Now what foreign sub-culture, infiltrated into Washington power, do you suppose is militating for current policies to oust Assad, as some sort of preferable "final solution"? And why is anyone listening to their pathological rubbish?

As the largest member of NATO is it to make it very difficult for the Russian Fleet to operate in the Med, or to flank Europe, or enter the Atlantic with ease. The Su-27 'Flanker' was built to be a flanker of Europe so the US must stymie the capacity of a Navy to flank Europe (which can also launch a Flanker variant from one of its ships).

As per General Smedley Butler.

"I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested"

And I suggest the ameriKan military are fighting for the oil cartels (whomever they may be) in the ME. It's always for and by the corporations, banks, drug cartels, whatever. This terrorism BS is only a cover.

Element, while I respect your grasp of the Geo-political map, 2 words I try my best to avoid are "never" and "always".

In this case, never is a long time, and I could envision a pipeline from Iran through Iraq and Syria to the Mediterranean, avoiding all the stickiness of involving a very shaky Turkey and ties to NATO.  If I were in charge in Iran, that would be of interest to me over the long haul.

Spending a little time with a map can really help put things in perspective.  Iran controls over halve of the coastline of the Persian Gulf.  If they were seriously messed with, they could shut down the gulf states oil shipments very quickly and very easily, throwing the world in a tailspin.  If Iran, Iraq, and Syria ever developed a true alliance, no one in that part of the world would push them around.

"... a pipeline from Iran through Iraq and Syria to the Mediterranean ..."

Well that is a possibility for a distant future pipeline, for sure, but that is not what I was talking about, and it is not what Tyler keeps constantly claiming without a shred of evidence to support it. He's really not keen on requiring, nor providing substance to that claim. You'd think that would be pretty important given so much of what he claims is hinging on it.

And that imaginary pipeline is certainly never getting built, simply because there is no such pipeline project. It is un-backed speculation that Tyler likes to use for a stage prop within his posts on Syria, and the alleged logic of both Western and Russian actions.

His assertions are complete rubbish on the topic of the causation and the awarding motives, intents adn subsequent actions though. He's made other assumptions that lead him to this and he's not reviewing the total lack of support for anything he's claiming. Now I have a lot of respect for Tyler's analysis on other subjects, in other areas he really knows about, but I regularly think his geopolitical analysis is highly skewed and pretty poor to useless most of the time.

The causes and motives for what's happening the last 5 years, and not just in Syria, but the entire region, are so obvious I'm staggered he keeps talking the bullcrap about an entirely fictional Qatari pipeline. He's got no hope at all of working any of this out while he keeps banging-on with this nothing-burger. He's blinded himself to what is happening. So it's a pretty safe use of the word 'never'.

But anyway, anyone who wants to run pipelines through that part of the world, before about 2040, are going to have some setbacks. The entire area is now contested by numerous heavily armed groups, all dedicated to building a different state on the same dirt. and the dirt of several other nearby states. And the biggest group of all is Syria itself and they are not going away.

So good luck with the pipeline route to Europe those who think that stuff. I think you don't know your asses from your elbows about what's going on. The various .gov intel services will be laughing their asses off at this pipeline claptrap.  lol  :D

Nothing wrong with keeping your powder dry.  Russia reacts when there are real threats.  When it was time to snatch Crimea, they acted decisively, without a lot of fanfare.  When their port in Syria was threatened, they again acted decisively, and America erased that red line in the sand.

But, I'm sure Putin appreciates your advice.

Oh, and the final chapter is yet to be written in Greece or Yemen, or Saudi Arabia, for that matter.  I'm pretty sure Putin has not forgotten about that little douche bag Saudi Prince threatening him during the Olympics.  We will see who lasts longest.

One of the ways Israel can penetrate Russia’s decision loop is by offering to help it fight anti-Russian jihadists operating out of Syria. One of Islamic State’s senior commanders in Syria is Tarkhan Batirashvili, a former Georgian special forces commander trained by the US. According to McClatchy, Batirashvili fought against the Russians in both South Ossetia and in Chechnya. In 2012 he traveled to Turkey where he joined other jihadists in founding IS. Today, Chechens form one of the largest groups of foreign fighters in Islamic State.

Iran and Hezbollah have no credibility in fighting them.

Although Assad and his Iranian sponsors like to talk about their total war against Islamic State, they have played a key role in enabling the psychotic jihadist movement to take and maintain control over so much territory. They have done so mainly by fighting a phony war against IS that has kept others from taking more concerted action against the terrorist army.

Iran’s phony war and effective protection of IS is of a piece with its long record of colluding with Sunni jihadists.

Since early 2002, Iran has served as a major command post for al-Qaida. Much of al-Qaida’s leadership in Afghanistan fled to Iran as US forces overthrew the Taliban regime. Since their entry into the country, Iran has claimed that these senior al-Qaida commanders were “being detained” or “under arrest.”

Amazingly while “under detention,” from 2004 through 2011, members of the group managed to organize al-Qaida in Iraq and command both its and the Shiite insurgencies against US forces in the country. In 2012, al-Qaida in Iraq morphed into IS.

This week it was reported that Iran has “swapped” five senior al-Qaida leaders for an Iranian diplomat that al-Qaida held in Yemen. In short order these terrorist chiefs will be permitted to leave Iran. According to the terms of their “release,” the five agreed not to attack Assad’s regime, but rather focus their efforts on Western targets.

Most media reports have portrayed Putin’s decision to deploy forces to Syria as proof of his commitment to maintaining Assad’s hold on power. But the truth is much more straightforward. Putin is deploying forces to Syria because he thinks he has an opportunity to rebuild Russia’s strategic projection in the Middle East through Syrian bases. And he is right.

Sorry, Nuland, no cookies on the Red Square. The regime-change machine is definitely broken in Russia. Russians are fed up with American cookies. And worse, any person handing out such cookies might receive a hit to the head by some angry Russian citizens. I would not be surprised.

After all, the previous USA ambassador ran away from Russia crying about how he was persistently "persecuted by Russian citizens." He was famous for his hysterical remark that: "Russia is not a normal country! It is a wild country!"

When the last attempt for a pre-election protest of this kind was done and the pro-Western activist Navalny was handing out cookies, only few old Russian ladies came, they listened to him, nodded their heads - yes, you are right, most Russian politicians are corrupt, and then they went and voted.....for the Communist Party of Russia. Despite the current economic troubles, the ruling conservative United Russia Party obtained majority in most regions, as usual. No pro-Western party made it through. Russians then happily agreed all over the internet that "the pro-Western liberal opposition" in Russia is now definitely dead. Amen to that.

And if by Nuttt&Yahoo fans you meant Russian Jews, well, most of them will definitely not want to draw attention to themselves by something like that. After all their Chief Rabbi officially told them to back off on criticizing Vladimir Putin, so as not to make Russians angry (more than they already are). And the most daring and radical Jews have already left Russia, saying that they gave up hope for "civilizing Russia." One such Jewish activist pointed out that: "I have realized that no pro-democratic revolution in this country is possible. Our Russian compatriots in their majority are unfortunately a guarantee that after this Putin there will be another Putin. The level of aggression and force of the population which makes Putin Putin isn’t changing. I am now certain that the situation in Russia will not change.” Amen to that as well.

This is just the sort of Jewish chauvinism and Supremacist Ethnocentrism that has made Jews, as a group, somewhat unpopular for 2500 years, across vastly different cultures and time periods.

Ah - but it's always "anti-Semitism" to blame, right, and not the fucked up ethics of Judaism, right?

Put it this way---if you have no problem understanding the real nature of Rhodesia's or pre-ANC South Africa's struggle, you should have no real trouble understanding Israel's.

Israel soon learned she was in the same boat as the whites of southern Africa, and she was the only real friend free South Africa had in the world, giving her the atomic bomb in exchange for South African uranium.

Anti-semitism is the oldest disinformation campaign our masters have going. Never ceases to amaze me how many here still fall for it.

Trust me on this too---the same Germans who are throwing the door open to the scum of Syria would laugh in the faces of the Jews if Israel somehow fell into the hands of Islamic State, and throw them back in the Mediterranean Sea. The Muslims are no real threat to our masters' plans to destroy western civilization and replace it with something more to their taste. The Jews are.

They treat their wounded and they act as their air force.
They also gave them shelter when Assad's forces were hot on their trail. ISIS simply escaped to the occupied territory (by Israel) and that stopped Assad's forces from wiping them out.

Israel’s Attack on Syria Aimed at Moscow
http://russia-insider.com/en/israels-attack-syria-aimed-moscow/6151

The preparation for Russian military deployment in Syria continues

A campaign has been launched by the opponents of the agreement between the United States and Iran accusing Russia of intending to annex Syria by military force, as it had done in Crimea. In reality, Moscow is applying UNO resolutions and preparing an operation against the jihadists, and will go ahead with or without the consent of Washington. Already, the White House has organised a joint operation by the international Coalition and Syria. France is attempting to jump on the bandwagon, hoping at the same time to sabotage the US / Iran reconciliation.

Bibi sees himself as a Messianic figure

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFr4C2BPLeM

He thinks non-Jews are simply lesser than "Jews" [notwithstanding the fact the Palestinian Arabs are very likely more closely related to the ancient Israelites and other Canaanites than are the Ashkenazim, who are mostly European]...

which is frankly what Jewish texts teach - both Talmud and Torah.

http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/jewhis5.htm

It's what chief rabbis, Israeli politicians, and leader of the organized Jewish community, as well as religious Jews believe.

I mean - read the thing. This is holy? This is of a Creator of all space and time:?

---
Driving Out the Nations

7 When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you— 2 and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally.[a] Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy. 3 Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, 4 for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you. 5 This is what you are to do to them: Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones, cut down their Asherah poles[b] and burn their idols in the fire. 6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

7 The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. 8 But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. 10 But

those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction;
he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him.

11 Therefore, take care to follow the commands, decrees and laws I give you today.

12 If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors. 13 He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land—your grain, new wine and olive oil—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. 14 You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young. 15 The Lord will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you. 16 You must destroy all the peoples the Lord your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity and do not serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.

17 You may say to yourselves, “These nations are stronger than we are. How can we drive them out?” 18 But do not be afraid of them; remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt. 19 You saw with your own eyes the great trials, the signs and wonders, the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the Lord your God brought you out. The Lord your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear. 20 Moreover, the Lord your God will send the hornet among them until even the survivors who hide from you have perished. 21 Do not be terrified by them, for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God. 22 The Lord your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you. 23 But the Lord your God will deliver them over to you, throwing them into great confusion until they are destroyed. 24 He will give their kings into your hand, and you will wipe out their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand up against you; you will destroy them. 25 The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the Lord your God. 26 Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Regard it as vile and utterly detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.

Never mind that Jews lived in large numbers outside "Israel" for CENTURIES before Christ. Never mind that they arrived to an already occupied Palestine - TWICE - and claimed divine right {the shit from Joshua seems to have mostly never happened - the bible is turning out to be mostly myth with a sprinkling of just enough 'truth' to convince the stupid.... it is tough to study Egypt and not marvel at how little evidence there is of "Jews" or "Israel" in the records of the regions longest-standing superpower.... in fact Egypt controlled Canaan whjen Moses was supposed to have lived, meaning he escaped Egypt to go to an area just east Egypt controlled and had garrisons all over.

If you read the Magna Carta, Jews are called out there for their deceitful lending practices. What is going on today is nothing new, but thanks to their manipulation of the media, they are able to influence, and spread propaganda far more easily.

Early on, as now, Usury was/is a sin, making money of helping others. It is a a sin to make money off of lending to your brother, but Jews, to their nature, got around this stipulation, by ONLY considering OTHER JEWS their brother. So they had the early advantage of running around making loans, when Christians could not. I would not be surprised if they had something to do with setting up the Roman Catholic Church, it has hamstrung Western civilization for centuries.

Thanks for the information. I get a kick out of those who "vote down" your comment, without having the courage of their convictions to try and argue against your point.

Using the NASA NEO list you can see a 53 Meter object flew by Sept 15, 2015 at 8500 m/s and less than 3 lunar distances from the earth.

Using my Asteroid calculator above, it would have had the energy impact of 13 atomic bombs.

Elon Musk ain't that smart.    If he wants to terraform Mars, you need to send comets, not atom bombs, duh!

The headine makes it sound as if Israel can go to Moscow and talk to Putin uninvited.

Of course, that isn't the case.

Don't trust the Jew, Mr Putin.

Syria is not going to be partitioned.

Jews want land.

Jews want multi-culturalism for everyone.

Except themselves, of course.

Syria is already partitioned. And their trouble really started when they could not grow enough food.

I thought Obakerry backed off because Russia's presence in Syria screws up the plan.

Instead, it turns out that Germany flipped sides.

But Russia isn't Russia any more either.

Jews kicked out of Russia by Putin.

Neocons Babble Over Syria Crisis
https://consortiumnews.com/2015/09/16/neocons-babble-over-syria-crisis/

Hard to read the NY Times anymore without throwing up in my mouth a little

You do have to notice that like the neocons - the most vocal and prominent anti-Russia types seem to be Zionists and Jews.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/05/opinion/roger-cohen-western-defeat-in-...

Why is that?

And does it have anything to do with most of the oligarchs who raped russia under Yeltsin being Jews?

or most of th eeocnomists who helped them do it?

What about the fact that post-coup Ukraine has a Jewish president, PM, and chair of parliament in a country WHICH IS LESS THAN 0.7% Jewish.

Yet Jews seem to own a lot, maybe even most, of the media in Ukraine.

Any chance this is all related to Nuland and Pyatt's efforts? Pyatt is a Jew too and spent most of his time as OUR ambassador to a 99% Christian country meeting with "Jewish leaders."

A meeting of international, organized Jewry, just maybe???

no no - Jews CAN NOT EVER DO ANYTHING BAD because when a Jew does it - it is good and holy and criticism of Jewish crimes, which arent crimes, of course, is just "anti-Semitism"

Jews. What do we do about them? I know some good ones. I know some stinkers. Zionism is using the Jews. Zionism has nothing to do with real Jews. Most Jews are trapped in this game and some know it while some suspect it. Some love the sense Jewry now has some power again. At the heart of bad Jews is racism. A Im better than you mind trip. Whats worse is Zionism is simply evil.

Saker does not mention Syria now, but interestingly, he says that Russian soldiers are now finally REALLY in Ukraine??? Wow, things are happening fast everywhere! And USA State Dept. is quiet about this???

"In brief: the romantic and loveable motley crews of self-defenders and local militias are being replaced by a ultra-modern armed forces, mobile, trained, disciplined, well paid, and armed with latest weapon and all the bells and whistles of the modern warfare. No more cab drives, miners, and school teachers armed with a Turkey war period cannon from a local museum and AK-45 honestly put together with a sticky tape. Now, Donbass has an army of Russian men and women for whom war is a profession."

Netanyahu’s office announced on Thursday the prime minister’s plans to visit Moscow next week to discuss with Putin "the deployment of Russian forces in Syria."

Peskov also said that Turkish and Palestinian leaders Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Mahmoud Abbas could visit Moscow next week.

Russia has plenty expereince being stabbed in the back by jews and Zionists. They have tens of millions of murdered souls who still cry out for vengeance for past treacheries and betrayals.

The opening moves in this chess game between Putin and Obama were nothing out of the ordinary.  Russia took some CIA agents.  The US badgered Russia about the Arctic Sunrise and the right of members of the same sex to be conjoined in holy and sexual matrimony.  Just pawns.

Then Putin snagged the white knight, Edward Snowden and the game began in earnest.  The US, threatened to disrupt the games at Sochi and when the games were over, had already taken over Ukraine.

The Russians countered by taking Crimea which is what they wanted in the first place.

So the end of the opening found Russia with Snowden and Crimea and the US with Poroshenko and a large gaggle of brain dead nazis.

Putin gathered his forces together and began a passive defense.

While the Wrath of Obumy hurled down lightening bolts of sanctions which damaged the global economy and Obumy's contemptible allies as much as they hurt Russia.

Soon 'Deus ex CIA', a merry band of nutjobs appeared in the Syrian and Iraqi desert beheading men and raping women.  They fought everyone in the region except Saudi Arabia and Israel.  There was an attack or two in Saudi Arabia but it was hard not to think that the Saudis did it themselves, so they could say "Looky, we were attacked by ISIL.  We aren't underwriting them."

The a coalition of distant countries began to attack ISIL position by air and every week NATO or the Pentagon would announce hitting one of ISIL's Top Bananas.  The more Top Bananas the coalition hit the stronger ISIL seemed to get.  (It reminds me of the scene in 'Fantasia' when Mickey is trying to stop the brooms from multipling but is failing miserably. Finally the Sorcerer appears.)

Enter Putin.
