"Pet Rocks" Are Booming In Brazil

Tyler Durden's picture

It appears there is one 'currency' worth holding on to when a nation's fiat fraud is exposed...

Real "wealth" preservation.

And how many hammers/how much rope, does it take to store your wealth?

Hammers and rope might be sufficient to store your wealth, however, most of us require something more efficient/condensed.

Hammers and ropes can achieve ends other than wealth storage, but which are nonetheless still very valuable ...

It is a sad day indeed when the paper currency of dogshit republic is sold for a pet rock that has withstood the depredations of millenia.  What are Brazilians thinking?

It's pretty dumb to think they will outlaw cash, but not outlaw REAL money like gold and silver.

Sully - you dumb ass. You can have both the easy way.

If you are sitting on a stack of gold, Scarlett will drop her laundry, and suck you off like she is removing chrome from the back bumper of a 57 Chevy.

If you are sitting on a pile of fiat currency, she won't even flip a match on to you to watch you burn.

Well, my guess is that Scarlett

will have sold her body, mind, and soul,

to one of the NWO prime movers.

And you will be a long, long place back in line,

to have your chance at the brass ring.

Sorry.

I find the case of Venezuela to be morbidly fascinating. Venezuela under the expert socialist leadership of Comrade Nicolas Maduro is about to go into actual starvation. Yet, I believe no government buildings are burning. He still seems to have the undying support of the peasants which may be why.

It seems that many of these countries still tolerate the rampant corruption and empty shelves promises of the Left. Despite abject and repeated failures they go back to the same models.

Gold, is one of the canaries and a proper reaction.

$20.00 an ounce prior to 1935, $35.00 an ounce until the Seventies, now just short of $1200.00 an ounce today.

Bovine Excrement there, Bovespa. You no broker, but if you are, you gonna be even broker in the future with that there rocket science you be preaching.

In a technical sense, Fiats rarely get stronger. That is, increase in purchasing power. When the finacial media says one currency is rising against another, they are only giving you the Delta or difference. Both Fiats are still sinking (losing purchasing power), Just one of the compared currencies is heading for the cliff at a slightly less rate than the other. All FIAT CURRENCIES HIT THE CLIFF, They exist to be destroyed, Its in the design.

Everyone outside the USA is grabbing hard assets as their currencies plunge and will drop further I presume. Those who aren't will be punked hard by devaluation. Canada and Australia already down over 30%. Those who bought gold are sitting pretty.

I'm in Brazil at the moment and I can tell you people still view the dollar as the hard currency here. The real price of gold has gone up a lot but that is more a reflection of the weakness of the local currency. Don't get me wrong I think gold is a far superior asset to hold than paper FRNs but I can tell you that as someone who grew up in Brazil (even though I have not lived here for a long time) Brazilians, unfortunately, still view the dollar as King. That might change though as one of the taxi drivers I spoke to told me he buys gold whenever he can.
