"We're Gonna Need A Bigger Balance Sheet" - All Major US Equity Indices Negative Post-QE3

Tyler Durden's picture

Who could have seen that coming?

The nasdaq has joined the rest of the US equity market back in negative territory since the end of QE3...

But... the fundamentals...It appears we are going to need a bigger balance sheet...

Dateline: Wall St.  Major banks and investment houses get their first subtle hint that there's not as much left to steal from the middle and lower classes as they thought, no matter how much money they print.  They then proceed to completely freak the fuck out.

Of course, most of the down voters know little or nothing about the concept of BitCoin.  Which is OK, few people understood the value of home computers, the Internet, and digital photography when they first came out.

Downvoters: I have a horse and buggy business to sell you.  How are your shares in Kodak doing?

I know - hire a scribe to pen me a letter.  Oh, wait, you finally did admit you were wrong and now use a computer.  It is indeed amazing you learned how to use email.  One day, you will be using crypto currency!

Of course, you will never admit to it when the time comes that you were wrong and hadn't a clue about the things you were so much against. This is human nature and you will be forgiven.

No we just know that bitcoin is as big a bubble as the rest of them. Perhaps if people used it to trade instead of for speculation and wasn't entirely dependent on a working internet it might have some merit. A million bitcoins are worthless if you can't access them.

True. You have to accept that we as a race are insane and murderous. It was ever thus. Look at the history of the English kings. Conquest and kill all your kin to ensure your power and succession.

They only thought about 'the people' when the people made a serious nuisance of themselves.

We are still ready to fry life on earth over threats to power - have been ever since we worked out how to fry life on earth.

Powerless humble individuals are often humble, powerless and decent and may do good things on the limited scale available to them. They don't count

QE4, 5, 6.  Plus negative interest rates.  Plus a ban on cash.

This is only the beginning.

They will also be banning sites like ZeroHedge as subversive.

It's gods work and to keep women and the children safe.

Sorry gang but QE4 is coming, and it wins. NIRP is coming and will be seen later as the death of cash, but initially it wins huge. All of this wins because the main playerz want it to win. They want to ramp the exchanges, they want to arb the FX lines, they want to arb EM debt interest rates. They want all those things and they don't get any of those things in a down "market" ... so it doesn't go down. Really simple.

This shit is just so simple, you really need to wrap your head around the beauty of it, seen from their perspective. They have all the money, they own all the media outlets, they own all the governments and regulators, and they are immortal akin to gods.

Just that simple. As simple as that. Nothing could be more obvious really it is all that simple.

Goldman has always hated Glencore.  Glencore froze them out of most Glencore IB fees.

Ipo http:// www.wsj.com/articles/BL-DLB-32939

GS also had a great client in Xstrata but that all disappeared after the merger.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2012-02-07/glencore-xstrata-enlis...

I assure you these panic moves and string of published research are a coordinated strategy to get rich killing an competitor.   See Bear, Lehman, and MF Global for case studies.

I used to laugh at the idea of the evil hedge funds,  but in cases of trading companies,  where liquidity and credit are requirements,  it is a real phenomenon.   Create a full fledged panic that forces counterparties to protect themselves thereby artificially manufacturing a run on liquidity that forces a company to burn up its liquid assets,  until they are gone and a default is necessitated.

There is no fundamental reason why Glencore''s hand shold be forced right now.  But it really doesn't take much capital to run up a single name CDS, and if you are smart,  you can make many multiples of that in collateral damage.

A SERIOUS QUESTION :

Why can't the United States of America just terminate the Federal Reserve all together through legislation?  Dump all the Primary Dealer designations and FOMC crapInstead have money supply and monetary policy conducted through the Treasury?  Get rid of all the middle men fuckfeeders?

Instead of having the FED monkey around with interest rates all the time creating bubbles, recessions and endless money printing - Just have the Treasury announce that interest rates will be, say 3%, for the forseeable future.

In connection with this, make it a VERY CLEAR ANNOUNCEMENT and tell everyone to PLAN ACCORDINGLY?   Businesses both large and small can then develop rational long range plans based on a KNOWN interest rate environment.

And theoretically, you wouldn't need QE and ZIRP and all the other shit that serves the banksters and the 01-1%.

Sorta like #Occupy Wall Street among the masses but taking it a step further with a clearly laid out vision.  Because if things do implode - it's the perfect setup for some f*cking action for once.  And Congress will be answerable along with the FED.
