Why Did Ted Cruz's SuperPAC Give Carly Fiorina's SuperPAC $500,000?

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by  SM Gibson via TheAntiMedia.org,

A Super PAC associated with GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina has raised almost $3.5 million to date for the former CEO in her quest to become commander-in-chief in 2016. One donation in particular, though, stands out among the hundreds of contributions pledged to the CARLY for America Super PAC as so perplexingly bizarre, it has left the Federal Election Commission and a host of others scratching their heads in bewilderment.

On June 18, a donation of $500,000 was made to the Fiorina-supporting PAC by Keep The Promise I. Not only is Keep The Promise I a generous contributor who believes in Fiorina’s presidential aspirations enough to fork over half a million dollars — it also happens to be a Super PAC set up to fund a political rival of Fiorina’s and fellow presidential candidate, Senator Ted Cruz.

imrs.php-4

Why would anyone seeking the presidential nomination for the Republican party donate such a large sum to a competitor? No one currently knows the answer, but it is a question to which the FEC is actively seeking an answer.

In a letter sent to Keep The Promise I on September 21, the FEC requested an explanation be given for the disbursement of funds to CARLY for America, and that “Failure to adequately respond by (October 21) could result in an audit or enforcement action.”

The only explanation listed for the expense at the time of the contribution was “other disbursement.”

Keep The Promise I is one of four political PACs set up to raise money for Cruz’s presidential campaign endeavors (the other three are “creatively” monikered “Keep the Promise PAC,” “Keep the Promise II,” and “Keep the Promise III”). Keep The Promise I alone has already raised over $11 million dollars for Cruz so far, but not much of that money has been spent yet. According to the FEC, only $536,170 has been used by the PAC. $36,170 of that went towards paying for attorney’s fees and surveys while the bulk of the cash went towards Fiorina’s presidential war chest.

Even stranger, the large sum was donated to Fiorina while she was still a relatively unknown candidate. According to one Washington Post – ABC News poll, the former HP head was polling at 0% at the time. It wasn’t until August 6 — when Fiorina performed well in the first GOP lower candidate debate — that she was on anyone’s political radar nationally.

In June, the FEC forced the Fiorina PAC to change its name from “Carly for America” to “CARLY (an acronym for Conservative Authentic Responsive Leadership for You) for America Super PAC.” The name change was in response to the FEC claiming the original title was in violation of its rules. As the Washington Post states: “FEC rules state committees can only use a federal candidate’s name if they’re authorized by that candidate, something super PACS, by rule, cannot be since they’re supposed to be independent.”

In Switzerland, there are no campaign/party finance laws. None whatsoever. Political parties are associations in the sense of articles 60 and following of the civil code; as such, they don't even need to be registered. Parties can receive contributions from corporations, billionaires, regular adherents, foreigners, anyone.. they don't even need to disclose where they got their money from.

And yet, Switzerland is among countries with the least corruption.

Why, you ask? Quite simple. There is no one to bribe, as politicians have very little power. Thus they have little privilege to sell. Political prerogatives are highly decentralized. Actually, many Swiss people don't know who their country's president is. It changes every year, and barely matters at all.

Funny enough, Switzerland and the USA were known for a long time as sister republics. That's because the Swiss constitution of 1848 is mostly copy-pasted from the US one. Only the Swiss didn't fight a civil war, and thus never lost their republican confederate identity.

Of course that isn't to say the country isn't subjugated by the globalist empire too, or that it isn't going in the wrong direction (esp. because of the SNB politburo).

While I may be the odd man out on this forum (particularly after 6:00 PM when the whiners log on), I will tell you flat out that I increasingly inclined to hire foreign tech talent over a U.S. effeminate skinny jean-wearing douchebag fanboys. Despite all the right degrees, many U.S. candidates 35 and below have huge attitudes, are whiny little bitches and increasingly lack competitive skills.

On the other hand, talent in the form of foreign nationals (my preference being Jews) are grateful for the opportunity, are loyal to a fault, are amazingly low maintenance and produce outstanding results.

They also prefer to dress like professionals.

But this is just me. You're tastes may vary.

Or, he thinks she will win the nomination and wants to be somebody's running mate.  He already tried to glam onto Trump.  Cruz truly is a dangerous hack.  With a wife who is a wealth manager for Goldman, and a holy roller old man, reckon where his loyalties lie.  Here is a little song that sums up his desparate attempts to gain recognition.  Too bad for him, he is a high I.Q. charlatan without a lick of common sense.

Switzerland also puts almost anything important up for referendum. Now THAT's democracy, everyone goes down to the pub every 6 weeks or so to decide what happens. And the Swiss president is one of six that rotate, each gets 1 year to be the top dog. So if you get a total corrupt loser then at least you know he's gone within 12 months. They also have 6 points of entry to the country, all mined, in case they need to close shop in a hurry.

Actually a good strategy.  (Not the cheese grater;)

Carly and Carson are both "holding pattern" candidates, with no chance of winning the nomination.  Anyone interested in extending this thing, does not want either of them to run out of money, which they will.

Yes, one of them is the future VP candidate. The Rep. Est. thinks it must pander to women and blacks to be elected since there are not enough actual pissed off tax payers to put them in office(thanks to the FED). Romney gave that away w/ his 47% speech.

Actually a strong grassroots movement among conservative women here in Texas walked blocks, passed out literature, made phone calls, manned booths, talked to neighbors, held meetings, planted signs, and did what it took to make Ted the victor in the Republican primary. After that, he was as good as in.

Ted Cruz is a persuasive speaker and does especially well in small groups. He is respectful, gentlemanly, and treats women as intelligent beings. He was outspent magnificently by his wealthy and powerful opponent. David Dewhurst is ex-CIA, not a good speaker, and something of a cold fish with whom the politically active women in Texas could not relate.

It could cost Ted dearly if he had to be the one to rip into Hillary. It would be much better for Carly to do the hair-pulling.

They want Trump OUT that is why the RINOs are so cozy together. Like Scott Walker, the BIGGEST FRAUD out there, Cruz talks "tough" on illegal immigration, but what most people don't notice is he is for HUGE INCREASES in LEGAL Immigration.

It was the 1965 Immigration law that set the demographic disaster rolling for Whites in the US.

Ted Kennedy is not responsible for the Immigration Act of 1965

We have two new Vietnamese couples in our neighborhood, docters and dentists, very nice, polite, educated and non-violent people.

Bribe money for Fiorina to shut up about the fact that Cruz is not an eligible natural born Citizen, and not eligible for POTUS, according to A2S1C5.

Even the State Dept. has doubts that Cruz is eligible:

7 FAM 1131.6-2 Eligibility for Presidency (TL:CON-68; 04-01-1998) a. It has never been determined definitively by a court whether a person who acquired U.S. citizenship by birth abroad to U.S. citizens is a natural-born citizen within the meaning of Article II of the Constitution and, therefore,  eligible for the Presidency.
