Chinese President Xi Jinping leaves the White House, where he discussed the theft of commercial secrets, and heads to New York to check in tonight at the Waldorf Astoria, where his privacy is sure to be guaranteed by the hotel’s new Chinese owners.
On Sunday, Xi will be joined by Russia’s Vladimir Putin, who also picked the Waldorf for his first stay in Manhattan in a decade, according to diplomats preparing for the Eurasian leaders’ address to the annual seven-day session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Are Putin and Xi supposed to stay someplace else in Manhattan? I don't see any significance at all to this story. What's wrong with the Waldorf? Sure, the Chinese own it now. So naturally that's where they'd stay. I don't get it.

Anyone can see Putin is scrambling to kiss Obama's feet.
As far as I know, Putin did not stay in any hotel, but came with his presidential plane in the morning, and left in the evening.
He preferred to minimize the time spent in the US. Maybe he feared something.
And who was responsible for driving China and Russia together as allies with his dollar policies(via the Fed), his Big Syrian War Mistake, ISIS, Ukraine War Interference(by the CIA), NSA Worldwide snooping, etc ?

I think Lame Duck Obama had something to do with this snubbing..from my inside congressional sources I learned that the President initially wanted the Chinaman and Russian Bear to stay at a 5 star residence.
But when John Boehner resigned as Speaker of the House..well all bets off on a federal government funding resolution with Congress. So Mr. Lame Duck has ordered all federal agencies to save their nickels and dimes... It was too embarassing for Mr Lame Duck to take care of Chinaman and Russian Bear at a 5 star residence and have the American public go hungry because there was no money for food stamps.
Bottom line...it was the Republicans that caused this snubbing. They planned all along to have John Boehner resign and embarass the President. Shame on them...and now..you know the rest of the story.

Sorry, but I fail to see how Abama was 'snubbed'. Sure, it was a signal of closer Chinese and Russian cooperation but how does this mean Obama was snubbed? Inquiring minds want to know.
From what I read below, you are not the only one. With a little extra reading, you and all the others would have found that when it became time for Obozo to give his speach at the UN after Putin, Xi and I believe the Iranian diplomat gave theirs ... these three were absent from the UN floor and their seats were empty for Obozo's speach.

The Chinese owned Waldorf is probably the only place they can stay without having to worry about the NSA listening in. You can bet that there are special floors and rooms that are constructed to isolate any electronic leakage, and are swept several times each day.
Unless the hotel has floors that are never rented, any spy agency can get surveillance equipment planted.
