Mid-East Coup: As Russia Pounds Militant Targets, Iran Readies Ground Invasions While Saudis Panic

Tyler Durden's picture

Back in June, the commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qasem Soleimaini, visited a town north of Latakia on the frontlines of Syria’s protracted civil war. Following that visit, he promised that Tehran and Damascus were set to unveil a new strategy that would “surprise the world.”

Just a little over a month later, Soleimani - in violation of a UN travel ban - visited Russia and held meetings with The Kremlin. The Pentagon now says those meetings were “very important” in accelerating the timetable for Russia’s involvement in Syria. The General allegedly made another visit to Moscow in September.

The timeline here is no coincidence. Iran has long provided covert and overt support to the Assad regime via financial transfers, logistical support from the Quds, and via the involvement of Hezbollah in the Assad government’s fight to regain control of the country.

As we’ve documented extensively over the past several weeks, what appears to have happened here is that Iran, unable to simply invade Syria in support of Assad (because doing so would obviously be a disaster in terms of preserving the optics around the P5+1 nuclear deal), turned to Moscow which has in the past used Russia’s Security Council veto to block the referral of the war in Syria to the Hague and which is a known ally of both Tehran and Damascus.

While it’s unclear exactly what the pitch was to Putin, Russia clearly saw an opportunity to advance The Kremlin’s geopolitical agenda at a key time in history. Moscow is keen to put on a brave face amid the most contentious standoff with the West since the Cold War (as a result of the conflict in Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea) and amid the related effort to preserve Gazprom’s market share in Europe.

In short, Putin looks to have viewed this as the ultimate geopolitical win-win. That is, Russia gets to i) expand its influence in the Middle East in defiance of Washington and its allies, a move that also helps to protect Russian energy interests and preserves the Mediterranean port at Tartus, and ii) support its allies in Tehran and Damascus thus preserving the counterbalance to the US-Saudi-Qatar alliance.

Meanwhile, Iran gets to enjoy the support of the Russian military juggernaut on the way to protecting the delicate regional nexus that is the source of Tehran’s Mid-East influence. It is absolutely critical for Iran to keep Assad in power, as the loss of Syria to the West would effectively cut the supply line between Iran and Hezbollah.

The same dynamic is playing out in Iraq. That is, Iran is fighting ISIS via various Shiite militias just as it’s fighting the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen via the Shia Houthis. It is thus extremely significant that Baghdad has agreed to share intelligence with Syria and Russia, as that effectively means the Iran-backed Shiite militias battling for control of Iraq will enjoy the support of the Russian military.

What should be obvious here is that this is a coordinated plan.

The Kremlin has effectively agreed to bring the might of the Russian air force to bear on Assad’s opponents in Syria and on Sunni militants in Iraq in support of Iranian ground troops and because the US and its allies have failed so miserably in terms of fielding anti-Assad rebels who don't turn out to be extremists, Putin gets to pitch the whole thing as a "war on terror." It would be difficult to design a more elegant power play.

If you think that’s far-fetched, consider the following just out from Reuters:

Hundreds of Iranian troops have arrived in Syria in the last 10 days and will soon join government forces and their Lebanese Hezbollah allies in a major ground offensive backed by Russian air strikes, two Lebanese sources told Reuters.

"The (Russian) air strikes will in the near future be accompanied by ground advances by the Syrian army and its allies," said one of the sources familiar with political and military developments in the conflict.

"It is possible that the coming land operations will be focused in the Idlib and Hama countryside," the source added.

The two sources said the operation would be aimed at recapturing territory lost by President Bashar al-Assad's government to rebels.

It points to an emerging military alliance between Russia and Assad's other main allies - Iran and Hezbollah - focused on recapturing areas of northwestern Syria that were seized by insurgents in rapid advances earlier this year.

"The vanguard of Iranian ground forces began arriving in Syria: soldiers and officers specifically to participate in this battle. They are not advisors ... we mean hundreds with equipment and weapons. They will be followed by more," the second source said. Iraqis would also take part in the operation, the source said.

And then consider this, also just out (via Reuters):

The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday it would consider any request from the Iraqi government to conduct air strikes against Islamic State inside Iraq, but said it had not yet received such an appeal, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.

It cited the foreign ministry as saying it would evaluate the "political and military" logic of such a move if a request was forthcoming.

Finally, to drive the point home and further confirm the veracity of the thesis outlined above, here’s Saudi Arabia panicking at the prospect that Russia’s presence is set to completely disrupt the Mid-East BOP (via Reuters, yet again):

Saudi Arabia, a leading foe of President Bashar al-Assad, demanded his ally Russia end its raids on Syria, saying the strikes had caused civilian casualties while failing to target the hardline Islamic State militants Moscow says it opposes.

In remarks at the United Nations in New York, a senior Saudi diplomat suggested both Russia and Assad's other main ally Iran could not claim to fight Islamic State "terrorism" at the same time as supporting the "terrorism" of the Syrian authorities.

Saudi ambassador Abdallah Al-Mouallimi expressed "profound concern regarding the military operations which

Russian forces have carried out in Homs and Hama today, places where ISIS forces are not present. These attacks led to a number of innocent victims. We demand it stop immediately and not recur."

"As for those countries that have claimed recently to join in the fight against ISIS terrorism, they can’t do that at the same time as they support the terrorism of the Syrian regime and its terrorist foreign allies like Hezbollah and the Quds Force and other terrorist sectarian groups," he added in comments broadcast by Saudi-owned al-Arabiya television.

ISIS is a common acronym for Islamic State, also known as ISIL. Lebanon's Hezbollah Shi'ite militia openly fights on behalf of Assad's government, and the Quds Force, part of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, is also widely believed to be aiding Damascus.

It would be difficult to overstate the significance of what appears to be going on here. This is nothing short of a Middle Eastern coup, as Iran looks to displace Saudi Arabia as the regional power broker and as Russia looks to supplant the US as the superpower puppet master.

Do not expect Saudi Arabia and Israel to remain on the sidelines here.

If Russia ends up bolstering Iran's position in Syria (by expanding Hezbollah's influence and capabilities) and if the Russian air force effectively takes control of Iraq thus allowing Iran to exert a greater influence over the government in Baghdad, the fragile balance of power that has existed in the region will be turned on its head and in the event this plays out, one should not expect Washington, Riyadh, Jerusalem, and London to simply go gentle into that good night.

Hey Kettle...I don't know why you get all these "down" votes.  You're just giving facts.  There was just a shooting at a college in Oregon.  13 killed.  Shooter asked the students what their religion was just before shooting them.  Shooter's name not released.

I'll go out on a limb and say it might be Mohammed something.  What's wrong with folks?  Of course, I'm probably wrong.  The shooter was probably a straight white male and a Papist...pushed over the edge when Obama wanted the Pope to meet transexuals etc.

Yes, PN7, you're right: those articles contain nothing but facts, precisely stated and completely cited. You will notice that none of the downvoters dares to quote or actually address a single fact in any of those articles. They can't. All they can do is attempt to shoot the messenger without the integrity to actually discuss the issues.

Anyone who thinks that Islam is anything even close to the other two major Abrahamic sects is too ignorant to debate anything, and doesn't know jack-shit about the Quran or the Hadith. Of course all of the Abrahamic sects came from the same lone guy who was walking along a dirt road by himself one day, and decided that the one-and-only One True God (don'tcha know) had decided to speak to HIM!

I guess all the Jews, Xtians, and Moooooslims alike better hope that Abraham wasn't just hearing voices in his head, huh?

That would be a really bad joke on mankind, wouldn't it?

What a great time for Xi to seize some islands.  And hey, anybody notice Ed Snowden popping his head above ground the other day?  His timing in tickling the folk-hero funny bone in our 18-30 demographic is prescient.

I mention the appearance of Snowden establishing a twitter account . . .the Obama administration is behaving as if it is being blackmailed.  Let the Iranians have their fissile material?  check.  Arm and train four or five Syrian rebels?  Check.  Bark like chihuahua at the UN podium?  check.  Strongly worded statements like "backfire," "doomed to fail", and "will not stand"?  Check.

The image of Kerry, Samantha Power and Susan Rice at the UN . . .it was the vision of three shameful third-graders who are awaiting an audience with the Principal.  Pathetic.

Tylers,

You're missing the MOST important part of Putin's strategy.  By taking out the "moderate" rebels, who serve as the supply line middle man for money and weapons provided by the US/Saudi/Qatar/Israel alliance to ISIS, Putin is forcing the US to either: 1) pull out of its Syria strategy because it can no longer support ISIS via the "moderate" supply line, or 2) begin to supply weapons and oney DIRECTLY to ISIS, whereby the US runs the risk of being exposed as the terror facilitator from the get-go.  Putin has effectively upped the risk of the US strategy in Syria.  If the US abandons ISIS, where will ISIS then turn and direct their terror?  Quite possibly Saudi.  If the US backs ISIS directly, the US government runs the risk of isolating itself from its European allies and the US people who are tired of the governent's deire for war and it's support of all the wrong parties.

It's an all-win strategy for Putin

Great post.  You point out that these phony moderate rebels are obviously not real.  They are just middle men or delivery boys for The Pentagram.   They deliver the weapons and supplies to ISIS. The USA gets to pretend they are not arming ISIS.

Lol...

The very first Russian "strike" hit civilians and ZERO ISIS idiots. Great chess move Putin!!!!

---

“They are the most violent strikes,” says a man filming the grim aftermath of what he asserts was a Russian air attack on the town of Talbiseh, in the Homs Province of Syria. “This is the Russian criminal regime.” The voice then trails off into laments and prayers: “Oh God, oh God, oh God. God is all we need.”

He concludes: “This is what the criminal Russian planes did.”

Russia’s very first airstrikes in Syria appeared to target areas where the Islamic State has no known presence, including some that have symbolic resonance as strongholds of the early, locally based opposition that sprang up among army defectors.

If Putin is successful in taking out the "moderates" supplying ISIS, then ISIS has no business continuing in Syria.  ISIS wants everyone that's not them dead.  That includes apostate Sunnis such as the Saudi royal family too.  Putin is going to turn ISIS onto Saudi Arabia.  It would be the biggest Middle East coup possible as it would entirely obliterate the US hegemony.

There will be collateral civilian damage.  No doubt.  This is going to be an ugly, dirty war.

this entire shitstorm is the fault of the US/Israel with supporting roles by the UK, Saudis and Turks.

The Syrian people {remember them} have been the victims.

There is no doubt Assad is a dictator and he likely used the sort of excessive force on his own people that is only okay when the Bahrainis or Ukrainians do it - but it is also exceedingly likely that however legitimate the initial protests, they used violence early themselves, and they were swiftly co-opted by the US/UK/Saudi/Israeli/Turkish who happily flooded the country with FOREIGN mercs [just as in Libya] to achieve their own goals...

So however hard one tries to malign Iran and Russia for DARING to pursue their own interests in the face of DECADES of Anglo-Zionist aggression - aggression which generally had no reasonable connection to the security of the aggressor, nor the well-being of the denizens of the victimized country - if the US can act in the interests of the banks, MIC, and Zionist Israel, Russia and Iran can certainly come to the aid of a beseiged ally fighting off Salafist terrorists and CIA murder squads.

There's no equivalency here - Assad was never as bad as he was made out to be, at all. Indeed, Saudi Arabia, and Occupied Palestine were and are FAR WORSE in terms of "freedom" and human rights abuses.

And last but not least, there is no "moderate" force. The FSA is a fucking fiction.

Any "moderates" who are ACTUALLY SYRIAN which do exist stand ZERO chance of being able to secure the country if Assad falls.

THEREFORE - to the extent said moderates continue to fight against the government of Syria, which apparently most Syrians support {especially at this point} - those moderates are effectively allying with Salafist, takfiri murderers and are siding *against* the Syrian people...and therefore, are legitimate targets.

BUT - what evidence is there of "moderates"?

^ Daniel Greenfield and Frontpage mag are hardly pro-Putin. In fact it is basically a Zionist rag. But here and there, they can afford to be honest.

"The Free Syrian Army never existed. What did exist was neither free, nor Syrian, nor an army. The FSA was sold as an army of Syrian soldiers who had banded together under defecting officers to fight against the Assad government. The real FSA mostly consisted of Islamic brigades, indistinguishable for the most part from the other Salafist brigades in the war. Some of these brigades were affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood whose local allies, Turkey and Qatar, were the war’s biggest backers."

Meanwhile, as the Chinese gear up, literally, rumors abound that the Israelis, once again, are planning to find/create a pretext to attack Lebanon.

Of course, we know that this will be purely to "defend itself" and the deaths of lots and lots of children won't matter one bit.

Cute.

Saudi Arabia and Israel aren't going to do shit.  Saudi Arabia is going to have its hands full when ISIS turns on them and begin to rampage their way to the Saudi oilfields.  ISIS and Saudi are not allies.  THEY ONLY HAVE COMMON INTERESTS...FOR NOW.  When Putin finishes off the "moderates" and cuts the weapons/cash supply line from the US/Saudi to ISIS,ISIS is going to turn its attention to the apostate regime of the Sauds.

As for Israel.  They are your typical schoolyard bully.  They beat the shit out of weaklings like the Palestinians but they will have no stomach to take on Russia or China.  They certainly don't want ISIS breathing down their necks either.  The Israelis are pieces of shit and will drop their alliances in a heartbeat if their interests are no longer served.

Never underestimate the desperate action(s) of a delusional psychopath that has always gotten it's way and when it no longer has the means to make itself heard because of it's disastrous follies (over many decades) that have made it destitute and an "eye soar" to those that once looked up to it mostly out of fear "it" will resort to whatever it feels is necessary to maintain even if it means it's own end!

Tehran and Damascus were set to unveil a new strategy that would “surprise the world.”

Oddly enough, if Syria requests military help from Iran, according to to the UN Charter, this is totally legal inside international law and precident. Sadly, the USA does not approve of the UN Charter or International Law. seeing the USA as decider in all issues.

What we have here is an open revolt against the World System since the end of the Cold War. The USA has decided, and not allowed the UN or International Law to interfere with US actions. But as I said, Russia and Iran have openly now declared independence from the Unilateral US System.

This means Washington must now justify it's counter actions before it reacts to the Russian and Iranian actions taken on request of the sitting Syrian Government.

Make no mistake. This is a big deal! It makes clear that the US System is now defunct. Washington and Britain are painted into a corner in which their only option to counter Russian and Iranian actions is to openly come out in support of ISIS, Al-Qaeda and Al-Nusra. And that is NO SMALL DEAL!  Obama is fucked, Putin outplayed him in masterly style.

One Washington hint came out two days ago, in which, ON CNN, one "Spider Marks" former Army Officer of high rank, said in response to the question "What CAN the US do now?"

Merks replied " Maybe it is time to escalate the Syrian conflict. Take it up a few notches and show Russia it is going to be hard to go forward." Basically that was what he said.

Now, Escalating the Syrian conflict. That can only mean the USA goes all out arming, funding, training and supplying ISIS and all Islamic Jihadists, and transporting them to Syria. In short, Marks called for the USA to be the biggest terror base on earth. If you think about it, Mark's statement can only mean US support for terror. Unless he plans on an open US invasion of Syria. neither option is going to be good for the homeland, You and Me!

I read yesterday that they are turning them away in droves for asylum from the Balkans

I knew a guy who was from El Salvador who was in jail for some petty crime as a minor and

the US Marines got him out of jail (1980s) to enlist even though the was underage.

Sent him to Panama to train others.

They promised him a green card but refused him in the end.

Could this be the plan for those turned away?

Obama’s True Foreign-Policy ‘Weakness’
https://consortiumnews.com/2015/09/28/obamas-true-foreign-policy-weaknes...

"The end result of all this U.S. “tough-guy/gal-ism” has been to get a lot of people killed without actually improving the lot of the people in the countries where the neocon-driven policies have been applied. In each of those cases, a more pragmatic approach to the political and strategic concerns represented by those crises could have saved lives and averted economic pain that only has fed more disorder.

Yet, Obama remains hypersensitive to criticism from well-placed and well-connected neocons. As the New York Times reported on June 16, 2014, Obama shaped his foreign policy speech at the West Point graduation in May 2014 to deflect criticism from a single neocon, Robert Kagan, who had penned a long and pedantic essay in The New Republic urging the projection of more U.S. power around the world.

In the essay, “Superpowers Don’t Get to Retire,” Kagan “depicted President Obama as presiding over an inward turn by the United States that threatened the global order and broke with more than 70 years of American presidents and precedence,” wrote the Times’ Jason Horowitz. “He called for Mr. Obama to resist a popular pull toward making the United States a nation without larger responsibilities, and to reassume the more muscular approach to the world out of vogue in Washington since the war in Iraq drained the country of its appetite for intervention.”

As part of Obama’s effort to deflect this neocon critique, “the president even invited Mr. Kagan to lunch to compare world views,” Horowitz reported.

Kagan apparently sees himself as a vanguard for a new wave of U.S. interventionism, teamed up with his brother Frederick who devised the two “surges” in Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2009. Robert Kagan is also married to Victoria Nuland, the assistant secretary of state for European affairs who helped promote the February “regime change” in Ukraine.

According to the Times article, the husband-and-wife team share both a common world view and professional ambitions, Nuland editing Kagan’s articles and Kagan “not permitted to use any official information he overhears or picks up around the house” – a suggestion that Kagan’s thinking at least may be informed by foreign policy secrets passed on by his wife.

Though Nuland wouldn’t comment specifically on Kagan’s attack on President Obama, she indicated that she holds similar views. “But suffice to say,” Nuland said, “that nothing goes out of the house that I don’t think is worthy of his talents. Let’s put it that way.”"

All these neocon chickenhawks, who are, for the most part, frankly, Zionist Jews looking out for Israel ought to be expunged from the US government.

Yes - Zionist Jews.

Sorry - that's simply what is the case.

Sorry... perhaps you might read about them before dismissing it...if you're honest....

Excellent post!

We should also think of the great Migrant crisis and remember, it all originates from " countries where the neocon-driven policies have been applied"

I believe that the USA is trying to weaken Europe through this mass Migration. Make Europe unstable via a mass Muslim migration. Thus ending the EU as any type of economic rival.

The US coup in Kiev was also an attempt to make Russia unstable and limit it as potential rival.

US tactics are clear. "Take down any and all potential power bases, whether allied or NOT!"

So Russia kicking butt is going to disturb the 'fragile balance of power'? You mean the balance of power that let ISIS take control of an area larger than Great Britain? Or the balance of power that has killed hundreds of thousands in Syria and fueled a refugee crisis in the EU? I think maybe the current fragile balance of power needs a little 'disturbing'!

Thu, 10/01/2015 - 13:28 | 6616656 Jack Burton
Jack Burton's picture

Correct!

"the balance of power that let ISIS take control of an area larger than Great Britain?"

US policy has led directly to ISIS becoming a world power. If we look at the US camps for anti Assad forces from around the world, you will see that these camps in Turkey and Jordan were the home bases for the rise of ISIS. Where they wer collected, armed, trained, funded and sent into Syria to form ISIS."

It is impossible for Washigton to escape the "Tar Baby" that is the US created ISIS monster. Without US policies in Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey. Plus Libya. ISIS could never have even gotten off the ground. It emerged within a matter of months out of this air. Right now, Saudi billions fund the entire ISIS operation. With US tacit support.

another excellent explication from Sergey Glazyev c/o the Saker

Sergey Glazyev’s Report: “About urgent measures to counter threats to the existence of Russia”

"“THE US IS TRYING TO KEEP THE LEADERSHIP VIA INITIATION OF A WORLD WAR”

The US aggression against Russia and the seizure of control over Ukraine is an integral part of the global hybrid (chaotic) war waged by Washington to retain world leadership in the growing competition with China. Russia is selected as the direction of the main attack on a combination of objective and subjective circumstances.

Objectively, the escalation of the international military and political tensions caused by the change of technological orders and historical cycles of accumulation, in which there is a deep restructuring of the economy based on a fundamentally new technology and new mechanisms for the reproduction of capital. At such times, as the five hundred years of experience of capitalism, there is a sharp destabilization of the system of international relations, the destruction of the old and the formation of new world order, which is accompanied by the wars between the old and new leaders for dominance on the global market."

What - no Rita Katz ISIS beheadings this week folks?

Check this out.  Supposedly this video was hacked by Ukrainian Cyber Berkut (They are not pro-kiev) and it shows the video of a phony ISIS beheading in front of a green screen.  This was taken down more than once from YouTube.

http://82.221.129.208/ah2index.html

Page down a bit more and it shows a Turkish TV show from Feb 2014 where they stole the idea on ISIS beaheading including the oranage prison suits.  Anyone who ever dealt with advertising and creative people is they steal ideas like crazy.  I guess this Turkish TV show beheading was too good for ISIS and Rita too pass up.

The last time citizens of the United States, indeed most of the free world were cheering for Russia was during WWII.  Many have forgotten that it was Russia who suffered the most causalties in that scenario from hell, over 30 million.

And now there are more people in the western world cheering on Russia than cheering on the USA's campaign (it's actually the bankers' and fascist corporations' campaign), not of "freeing countries of terrorism", but "totally dismantling ME countries, throwing them into complete chaos and anarchy, through the use of USA supported terrorism" (but really, it's actually terrorism ignited by the bankers and fascist corporations).  The USA (not American people, but the bankers and fascist corporations) has been using the USA military to unleash more terrorism, under the guise of "fighting terrorism".  And the American people are being sent the bill for all of it.

Putin appears to be in the mood to put an end to that shit.  The guy is a player, one sharp mofo, no doubt about that.

As in all things war follow the money. The fastest way to decapitate ISIS is to cut off its money supply namely, the huge amount of money it and the Kurds are getting daily from Israel for supplying it with oil through the northern pipeline which runs from Kirkuk in Kurdish territory to Baija in ISIS held Syria to Ceyhan in Turkey and then by tanker straight to Haifa in Israel. This is happening 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Obummer could have taken this oil pipeline out with air strike one, cutting off a major portion of the monetry supply to ISIS. But no that would deprive Israel of cheap dirty oil, we cant have that can we!.

As mentioned here before - the Russians are masters at missiles and ECM jamming of missiles.  they have arguably some of the best programmers in the world.  America has good programmers but they are usually f'ed over by corporations with lower quality H1-Bs.

The Russians also are probably the tops with rocket engines as the heavy lift stuff for NASA is Russian rockets.

The Russian Mi helicopters supposedly have state of the arm jamming equipment that may be like the ECM stuff used on the USS Donald Cook which has never been confirmed. I doubt the Russians are worried about Stingers.

I have this belief that anyone who carries a gun as part of their profession has resolved themself to the fact that they may at some time use it to harm another individual. Being that they are someone who are wiling to harm othersm they therefore cannot expect that others will not be willing to harm them.

If you don't want to have others see you as a physical threat, then it is best to not get into situations where you carry a gun.

This does however differ greatly from all of the people in the US who own guns, but do not carry them as part of their profession. It is very unlikely that those gun owners have an expectation or have resolved within themselves that they may at sometime in the future harm another person.

If you want to eliminate gun violence, it is logical then to remove guns from the people who carry them as part of their profession (police, FBI, military etc.).

Come on Alfred; we seen your comments about your "god" that you say is of Scripture, for if you truly knew the God of Scripture you would be a new creation in Christ, but your not.  As I said before; God loves you and each of us, when he made you he broke the mold and the same with each individual; but that love has its limits with the exceptions of the ones who have come to know Him.  Salvation is knowing your Creator and the only way one can know Him is if He reveals Himself in our time, space matter box and He has.  We cannot reach outside of our universe can we?

The trillions of light years; it is a fact that the speed of light changes and varies...since light is both wavelength and particle, one can reason that is true based on those two facts alone.  Based on empirical science it has already been proven, but not to the extent that it has varied over time and locations.  Since God built time into His creation, it is logical that the appearance of age would be associated.  Study the "radiation after-glow"; if the universe were even millions of years old; they could have never detected it.  Given the amount scientists have detected; it points right back to a universe measured in thousands of years.

Alfred; I'm not trying to pick on you nor could I ever convert you, no one can convert another person; that is the gift of God.  Anyone who claims they can is a liar and the truth is not in them.

Putin is a Class A bastard and not to be trusted. But upheaval makes for strange bed fellows.

What is he going to get out of this? Buggering Obama and Kerry has been just for fun. Eliminating the Saudis as masters of the worldwide oil business is the task at hand.

Please-o-please, shut down the Strait of Hormuz. That's what would be best for Mother Russia, and also for the US of A - that is, for anybody and everybody here who wants the #1 job producing sector of the US economy to go back to work. The Juice may also get a side benefit, if things get rough enough: one or more country-sized glowing glass factories in the desert nearby.

This is a heartless scenario and we may be fixing to see just how much life is worth in the 21st century. I'm a typical American Christian, and I cringe when I swat a fly. Probably would shoot a home invader's kneecap off, rather than finishing it, even though that obviously would be the "best" course. Still, I'm short on the "value of life" at this time. It appears truly cheap, and likely in a steep nosedive.

This is what you believe, dipshit

"You believe that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a woman made from a rib was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

Says the one who stated that "the universe has always existed" despite all Scientific evidence to the contrary; if there is time, then there is a beginning and an end.  If the earth is millions of years old and the universe billion and you want mankind and the goddess, mother earth, to survive, then it is very logical and rational to thin the herd to preserve both.  It is equally logical that there are those who are superior and those that are inferior and that the ones in position with authority should make the decision of how, when and where to thin the herd.  See you believe about origins determines your worldview; most don't realize it because they never bother to think things through to their natural conclusions.

Based on your worldview, what the globalist are desiring makes perfect sense.  As opposed to Christianity, true Christianity, which values all human life and if the commandments 5-10 were obeyed; there would be no war, adultry, cheating or lying and that would equate to what?  Peace.

I can answer all your questions very succinctly. but it would take too long here.

I can give you a hint.  Heaven and Hell are life condiitions within each of us   A the time of death you are in  one of he 10 life conditions.

Hell, Hunger (greed),animality  anger, rapture, tranquility, learning, absorption, aspiration for enlightenment and Enlightenment.

You do NOT go to some place call heaven or hell.  Your life force (soul) goes into the universal KU (constant state of flux) All your memories and brain activity which is imprinted on your psyche. leaves you until your are reborn .

There are many people who have been in deep hypnotic states talking about living 200 years ago in different countries where they had never been in this lifetime.  and named places and names which were corroborated.

I act like a child?  NO that would be YOU,  who thinks like a child.  Time to put aside your childish ideas

BTW everyone that starts THIS has moved from some other religion.

Thanks for answering the question.  Now all the comments that you have made and your unfounded hatred toward Christ makes perfect sense.

BTW - everyone has some form of religion in its most basic form meaning it is a person's belief of what is right or wrong that they often violate and impose on others and add an emotional bias and call it logic and reason.

True Christianity is the only "religion" that is based solely on a relationship based on love between the creature and the creator.  Man is so different than all other creatures because we were made in the image of our creator, no other creature He made has that privilege, but sin has separated us from him and Christ came and made the restitution to bring those , who by simple faith, believe.  Christianity is NOT God does His part and if my "good outweighs my bad", then surly God must let me in heaven or can't send me to hell.  Many go and have gone to hell that way.

There was a pretty significant incidence of schizophrenia in the Netherlands in children born during, and just after WW2 due to near starvation conditions in some locales. I've often wondered 2 things about Dutchboy/Alfred. One is what I described above, and the second is his almost obligatory use of the word "NAZI!" has me wonder in his father was a German soldier.

I'm going to give it to you straight, but without the ad hominem Neuman has:

1) Majority of European Energy comes from Russia.  This is what Hitler's Eastern Front was all about...securing energy for All Europe east of Brussels.

2) The Saudi's want to take that business.  What has been sold as 'crushing marginal shale plays' is really about gaining market share in Europe, not the US.  Russia, and not the US shale players, are the Saudi's target...because the Saudi's don't sell much here.  Most US energy imports come from Canada and Mexico.  Saudi's sell it in Europe, China and India.

And there is no DIRECT US BENEFIT to chaos in the Middle East, because US energy IS ILLEGAL TO SELL OUTSIDE THE US.   That's right... your statement about shutting down the straits of Hormuz doesn't make sense, because the US gets minimal oil from the Middle East, and can't sell to people the Middle East sells to.

What the US gets is support for the dollar by Saudi's who sell it EXCLUSIVELY in dollars (meaning anyone who DOES buy Middle Easter Oil (That's YOU EUROPE AND CHINA!!!) must first trade with the US for Dollars before they can buy oil.  That's where the 'Strong Dollar' comes from since Nixon.

3) I am not convinced Putin is a saint. He became too wealthy, too fast to have done so via clean commerce. But the man sees reality as it is not through lenses made by others. The US leaders seem to have been made literally out-of-their minds by their childhood drug use in the 1960's. Or at least we can certainly say that their stated concerns have little connection with the reality of living and breathing.

4) Trying to use military force, even through proxies, was madness for the US and Euro elites.  They KNEW THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PERSONAL OR POLITICAL CAPITAL OR COMMITTMENT TO CARRY THROUGH.  Every life that has been lost due to their ineffectual flailing has been WASTED.   They lack commitment.

And if I may be so bold... you also lack commitment, according to your statements.  If a malicious character comes into your home to force his will on you under pain of death - then it was he who set the stakes as 'death' and not you.   Your ONLY CHOICE is to capitulate or meet the stakes your invader has set.   HE AND NOT YOU CHOSE THE STAKES.  If he dies while trying to use the implements of death to impose his will on your property, life, or money, it is HE WHO CHOSE to use death to impose his will.

The defender does not get to chose the object of battle, but can only choose the conditions of the battlefield that lead to his or the aggressor's victory.

Honestly,

Is this a suprise that these bozo's could be easily outmaneuvered?

Their sole generational expertise is in borrowing money to out spend their competitors in vote-buying schemes!

In what way has the current generation of leaders, starting with Clinton in 1992 and continuing to the present been anything less than disastrous?

This entire generation of elites very visibly has a tenuous and often misplaced connection with reality paired with a frankly narcissistic self image, and voratious appetite for what can most generously be called 'loot'.

The only place they haven't been out-maneuvered yet, is in the voting booth where it is essentially illegal to put people from outside their clique on the ballot.

Whoever complacently allowed this without eviscerating commentary shares their blame.

They've literally in their voting lifetime blown the biggest collection of social, financial, and political capital that the world has ever seen.

The destruction that the most corrupt Romans of history took hundreds of years to do, they've managed in less than 40 years.

The dynamics of this theater and the European one are very simple.

The Russians want to continue their near monopoly on European energy sales.

The Europeans want to have competing producers.

The Americans want to retain their security leadership position relative to continental Europe.

The Saudi's and Qatari's want a piece of Russia's pie, and Turkey would like their cut of that business in return for the use of their territory too.

The problem is that Russia is more committed to do whatever it takes to have their way than the Europeans and Americans are.

Knowing that, the Euro's and American's ought to have punted, or surrendered.

Because knowing you're not committed to win, why play?

Thu, 10/01/2015 - 16:27 | 6617658 gcjohns1971
gcjohns1971's picture

What bogeyman that could realistically threaten you could be solved by what the US has there?

A protection racket, what you're calling 'the bogeyman game' has two sides.

If so few troops and so little equipment is enough to either intimidate, or to reassure Europe, then the proximate cause of the issue is in a weakness of character in Europe.

There are few troops in Europe, and little equipment, minus recent moves that are best described as non-substantive gestures...because the numbers are small, and the realistic capability is ephemeral.

So... If so few, with so little material support can intimidate so many...then why is the will of the many so weak?

And if so few can reassure so many from 'the bogeyman', at such low cost...what defect makes so many unwilling to provide their own reassurance?

I don't buy it.

I suspect that the US is simply politically manipulated by the same bankers who manipulate the Euro governments.

How else do you get Chrysler, a private company, GIVEN AWAY BY A GOVERNMENT WHO DOES NOT OWN IT to a train of companies equal or lesser in size?

It is because all of the above have common nominal owners, and give away positions and companies as rewards to faithful lieutenants.

This is the behavior of hereditary aristocrats, not politicians.
