The Mind Of Mr. Putin (America's Non-Interventionist Foreign Policy Tradition Exposed)
Submitted by Patrick Buchanan via LewRockwell.com,
So Vladimir Putin in his U.N. address summarized his indictment of a U.S. foreign policy that has produced a series of disasters in the Middle East (that we did not need the Russian leader to describe for us).
Fourteen years after we invaded Afghanistan, Afghan troops are once again fighting Taliban forces for control of Kunduz. Only 10,000 U.S. troops still in that ravaged country prevent the Taliban’s triumphal return to power.
A dozen years after George W. Bush invaded Iraq, ISIS occupies its second city, Mosul, controls its largest province, Anbar, and holds Anbar’s capital, Ramadi, as Baghdad turns away from us — to Tehran.
The cost to Iraqis of their “liberation”? A hundred thousand dead, half a million widows and fatherless children, millions gone from the country and, still, unending war.
How has Libya fared since we “liberated” that land? A failed state, it is torn apart by a civil war between an Islamist “Libya Dawn” in Tripoli and a Tobruk regime backed by Egypt’s dictator.
Then there is Yemen. Since March, when Houthi rebels chased a Saudi sock puppet from power, Riyadh, backed by U.S. ordinance and intel, has been bombing that poorest of nations in the Arab world.
Five thousand are dead and 25,000 wounded since March. And as the 25 million Yemeni depend on imports for food, which have been largely cut off, what is happening is described by one U.N. official as a “humanitarian catastrophe.”
“Yemen after five months looks like Syria after five years,” said the international head of the Red Cross on his return.
On Monday, the wedding party of a Houthi fighter was struck by air-launched missiles with 130 guests dead. Did we help to produce that?
What does Putin see as the ideological root of these disasters?
“After the end of the Cold War, a single center of domination emerged in the world, and then those who found themselves at the top of the pyramid were tempted to think they were strong and exceptional, they knew better.”
Then, adopting policies “based on self-conceit and belief in one’s exceptionality and impunity,” this “single center of domination,” the United States, began to export “so-called democratic” revolutions.
How did it all turn out? Says Putin:
“An aggressive foreign interference has resulted in a brazen destruction of national institutions. … Instead of the triumph of democracy and progress, we got violence, poverty and social disaster.
Nobody cares a bit about human rights, including the right to life.”
Is Putin wrong in his depiction of what happened to the Middle East after we plunged in? Or does his summary of what American interventions have wrought echo the warnings made against them for years by American dissenters?
Putin concept of “state sovereignty” is this: “We are all different, and we should respect that. No one has to conform to a single development model that someone has once and for all recognized as the right one.”
The Soviet Union tried that way, said Putin, and failed. Now the Americans are trying the same thing, and they will reach the same end.
Unlike most U.N. speeches, Putin’s merits study. For he not only identifies the U.S. mindset that helped to produce the new world disorder, he identifies a primary cause of the emerging second Cold War.
To Putin, the West’s exploitation of its Cold War victory to move NATO onto Russia’s doorstep caused the visceral Russian recoil. The U.S.-backed coup in Ukraine that overthrew the elected pro-Russian government led straight to the violent reaction in the pro-Russian Donbas.
What Putin seems to be saying to us is this:
If America’s elites continue to assert their right to intervene in the internal affairs of nations, to make them conform to a U.S. ideal of what is a good society and legitimate government, then we are headed for endless conflict. And, one day, this will inevitably result in war, as more and more nations resist America’s moral imperialism.
Nations have a right to be themselves, Putin is saying.
They have the right to reflect in their institutions their own histories, beliefs, values and traditions, even if that results in what Americans regard as illiberal democracies or authoritarian capitalism or even Muslim theocracies.
There was a time, not so long ago, when Americans had no problem with this, when Americans accepted a diversity of regimes abroad. Indeed, a belief in nonintervention abroad was once the very cornerstone of American foreign policy.
Wednesday and Thursday, Putin’s forces in Syria bombed the camps of U.S.-backed rebels seeking to overthrow Assad. Putin is sending a signal: Russia is willing to ride the escalator up to a collision with the United States to prevent us and our Sunni Arab and Turkish allies from dumping over Assad, which could bring ISIS to power in Damascus.
Perhaps it is time to climb down off our ideological high horse and start respecting the vital interests of other sovereign nations, even as we protect and defend our own.

The entire ME destroyed and balkanised, this was the plan all along, no need to "win" the war, chaos and destruction was the plan. Mission accomplished. So now what.?
leave us alone, TGIF and its football draft king time, its selfie time, we just don't care. Let Russia and Iran run the middle East. They dont have cable.
The ultimate culprit here is the Rothschild led cabal that control the governments in the west and the ultimate victim in all this carnage will be the middle class. Already civil rights have been stripped away and mountains of unpayable debt have been lumped on the public. Unless the Rothschild cartel are stopped Thomas Jefferson's prediction that we will wake up penniless one day on the land our fathers conquered will turn out to be true.
"So now what.?"
Induct our ISIS proteges and give them a 2 week crash course on flying the F35 so they can have their own Air Force to resist the Russkis.
Or send them on R n R in Turkey so the Russkis can't find them.
So now what? The non-gentiles next door can continue to count their stacks undisturbed. The muzzi demographic monolith ain't what it used to be with all of them at each other's throats. Nice. One does have to respect, without approval of course, the strategy. Dupes all, the world over, save one: that entity that does the duping.
You know that
1) something strange is going on
2) you are getting old
3) both
when a Russian sounds more American than most Americans these days.
I put no stock in this but it is interesting. Edgar Cayce's prognostications regarding Russia and the world:
Yeah, he's very good.
I invite everyone to read St.Pooty's speech at the UN and make up their own minds. There is some sugar involved to make the bitter "medicine" of NWO go down a bit more smoothly...
"As part of our national contribution, we plan to reduce by 2030 the greenhouse emissions to 70, 75 percent of the 1990 level.
I suggest, however, we should take a wider view on this issue. Yes, we might defuse the problem for a while, by setting quotas on harmful emissions or by taking other measures that are nothing but tactical. But we will not solve it that way. We need a completely different approach.
We have to focus on introducing fundamental and new technologies inspired by nature, which would not damage the environment, but would be in harmony with it. Also, that would allow us to restore the balance upset by biosphere and technosphere (ph) upset by human activities.
It is indeed a challenge of planetary scope, but I'm confident that humankind has intellectual potential to address it. We need to join our efforts. I refer, first of all, to the states that have a solid research basis and have made significant advances in fundamental science.
We propose convening a special forum under the U.N. auspices for a comprehensive consideration of the issues related to the depletion of natural resources, destruction of habitat and climate change.
Russia would be ready to co-sponsor such a forum."

...well, Putin-Gore sounds perfectly reasonable now, doesn't it? ;-)
What I find interesting is that Russia is dependent on fossil fuel exports and yet Putin said what he said. The chess player analogy is overused but could this be a feint? Help push the AGW agenda and when the world cries out for more energy due to the failure of renewables then Russia rides to the rescue.
Who knows? Just thinking out loud. After all, the elite have to know that AGW is a scam, don't they?
I found it noticable (and objectionable, for me) that he promotes the utility of a body called the UN throughout his speech, I of course consider "the audience" he's speaking to...(that being the UN "audience").
Still, a little flaterry just might carry the day...lol.
He's saying a lot of things known to be true (regarding neo-cons & neo-libs FAR & WIDE) while leaving out some crucial material things, things like the UN's very own resolutions (which Putin pointed to "offhand" like in UN Res 1973) basically carte blanche for the French to destroy Daffy Duck's air force on the ground.
At the end of it, as far as I'm concerned, he's trying to negotiate the same diplomatic mine field every other nation is, though better at it than Barack Redline it will yield the same putrid results.
Basically..."Gimme your shit for the good of mankind!"
//////
Eight, climate hysterics jacking off St.Pooty's white horse...so far.
Some of you people really are...hysterical ;-)
Meh. If I was in his shoes, I would use the UN theater to my advantage to force statesmen to physically convene and stand before me.
<< that he promotes the utility of a body called the UN throughout his speech>>
At some point, the sheeple will get bored and will demand live footage.
Actors gotta act.
/////
Wut?
Someone(s) think St.Pooty is any different from any other uber-statist coming down the pike after reading the ENTIRETY of his speech?...what a bunch of sheeple.
Halp us Vlad, halp us!...lol...works just as much as BareBack Borat worked for you...you've got a lot to learn.
I never saw the BareBack Borat movie.
Did you enjoy it?
oh my dog ... too funny. :-D
Some assorted random fragments of 'truth' I have collected during the past month on zh:
(1) Humans are too stupid to have governments.
(2) What this is, is a 'Stupid Government' crisis.
And my personal favorite:
(3) Takeoff and nuke the bullshit from orbit ... it's the only way to be sure.
Don't know where that leaves St.Pootie, maybe here.
I'm constantly amazed by it Element. The very same entities that can pull you over, snatch you out of your vehicle, throw you in jail, seize your assets, bankrupt you, convict you and quite possibly kill you in "the process".
Oh yeah, gimme soma dat!...lol.
You've gotta love it, regard it as a black comedy, and not as a pitifully deranged mental habit, and it's just fine.
Thats pretty much what I do anymore. They seem to think they can control "the thing" despite centuries of proof to the opposite.
So anyways, somewhat OT, there was a guy who charged unarmed TOWARD the punk little Hitler youth asshole shooter up in Oregon, if anyones interested...
https://www.gofundme.com/s75ge9y4
...more unmentioned, unexplained government media narratives, so I guess it never happened...lol.
Just imagine if the government allowed him to carry his gun on campus ;-)
thanks for posting Putin's speech - yes, i've been wanting an idea where Russia stands on this climate change issue - kind of surprising to see that defined support made so clear
are many usa media offering this speech on their audio/video broadcasts?
Not at the present no...lol...they're still tangled up in all their other narratives. I however am not obligated to any of it, I don't have to simplistically say "Barack bad, Putin good" or "Barack good, Putin bad" like some droid.
I can say they're equally bad for our freedom & liberty with a completely clear conscience.
Having said that, Putin does have the clarity of mind to acknowledge that all people & cultures don't "think the same" on many different levels as opposed to the monotone voices coming from DC, Paris, Brussels & London...however stating the obvious doesn't make him special either.
Again, throughout his speech he's in a sense praising the UN whereas I have always detested the UN and always will. A nation can't claim some right to it's own national sovereignty and then turn to "a foreign body" and ask them to enforce it or recognize it or plead with it as if it has some magical power to confer it. You just do it and dare some other SOB to take it under penalty of death.
It's a lot like individual sovereignty isn't it? ;-)
Great points.
What you get from the cities that you've mentioned is the McDonald's approach. No matter where you go, you know what you will get. It is not very good but it is not the worst out there.
Of course all these places also think that they have a exemption and they are their own kind of special.
They are their own kind of special - the retarded kind.
Government is by far the biggest murderer on the planet. War does not even come close.
And people cheer for government! That kinda stupidity blows my mind.
No government should ever be trusted in the slightest. Severly limited, held in check and at GUNPOINT.
Barak Obirdbrain is calling for the ban of firearms in the hands of law abiding citizens at the same time he is using all kinds of firearms to kill people all over the world.
And all the bloody progressives jump up and shout YES. This kind of insanity is off the charts.
The reality is that Barak Obirdbrain is the one who should be disarmed. Let him declare himself and his family a "gun free zone".
I think according to the intent of the founding fathers the army was supposed to stand down after two years. There is something very wise about that. Don't expect the base criminality of the "moar government" progressive mind to understand that though.

Hah, .guv. It should come with its own warning label, like those on a pack of cigarettes.
Putin has been frustrated by the powerful elite in Russia not making a real effort to advance the Russian economy past its dependency on resource exports.
Most elites anywhere on the globe do not like to take risks. They might be found out to be incompetent so better to have a central bank prop them up than to look a fool.
Humans are consistent no matter what nationality without mechanics to counteract their bad traits.
Way to leave out the 'context', hmmm?
"Ladies and gentlemen, one more issue that shall affect the future of the entire humankind is climate change. It is in our interest to ensure that the coming UN Climate Change Conference that will take place in Paris in December this year should deliver some feasible results. As part of our national contribution, we plan to limit greenhouse gas emissions to 70–75 percent of the 1990 levels by the year 2030."
nmewn, downvoted.
Western crony capitalism requires large gas emissions to function. Putin was indirectly attacking the economic power base of the West by suggesting sustainability was important.
'Sustainability' in this context meant don't fuck up the rest of the world with your retarded nation destroying because of your crap ponzi system.
This was not about the UN Climate Agenda at all.
Putin = Chessmaster.
Putin isn't "indirectly" attacking anything. You may have noticed. This is a direct attack on the failure known as COP 15 / CMP 5 Copenhagen, where POTUS Obama and Sec. Clinton FAILED to deliver.
Look at the positioning in the body of the speech.
Checkmate, and btw, a demonstration to all that a cynic/skeptic can acknowledge in front of the whole world that he was ignorant and able to learn.
*fur coats*
@-14 looks like i'm getting the Tony Treatment LULZ
@-16 we can turn the camera off.
I think you missed the essence.
It's been that way for a while.
The big tip-off to me something was up was when the US started openly doing all the stuff we were propagandizing as evil when the Russians did it, and then when the US retreated away from capitalism and moved to central planning while the Ruskies went wild-west on capitalism.
Amen.
bring it. the troops love owebomba. [/SARCASM]
besides, moar war is good for the maggot eCONoME [/NOT SARCASM]

Putin making miracles?
a US veteran. I wonder how many vets respect Putin more than our policians?
Like I do?
In my lifetime I have had no reference to determine a statesman from a polecat pol until Mr. Putin came along. He seems the real deal. I remember those in the u.s government laughing when he first took power,,, thinking him another small Russian with a drinking problem.
Well,,, look who's laughing now. Without threats, intimidation or name calling he has cleaned their clocks and made them look like the fools they are.
One would think the ameriKan People could see the difference and act accordingly,,, but,,, those are dreams....
dressed down 50 years of US/ZATO foreign policy in one 10 minute speech, brilliant
Yep. America has become a fascist police corporate state.

To the Neocons: mind your own fucking business. Peace.
I just dont see how anybody can look at the Obirdbrain usurper regime and CONgress and say "neocon".
This shit show is totally owned by PROGRESSIVES.
Either embrace your progressive suck or separate yourself COMPLETELY from it, mmmkay? Quit trying to cover for your past progressive tendencies, now that you know how bad it was.

I just find it extremely ironic that obama railed bush for overthrowing 1 dictator & nation building 1 place (saddem-iraq) & he's blown-up 2 (mubarak-egypt, gaddafi-libya) with his eye on a third (assad-syria). I'm sure putin understands the scoreboard of going in there given both our countries results ... maybe he's just tired of the inaction by us & europe - putting a bulls-eye on his countries back
Ironic is probably not the correct word.
Eye opening might be better. It highlights how ALL PRESIDENTS work.
Same for any elected position higher than dog catcher...
So you find obama "ironic"?
That's a nice start. Yeah...
He's a "little" ironic alright..
We need to put an end to all this bullshit. Everyone, need to take a time out and think about what they have done.
Fuck you, Patrick.
This is Geopolitics 101.
You mean to tell us that you think it's nobel for Putin to trot out on a white horse now after the U.S. led genocide in the ME after fourteen fucking years and make a speech at the U.N. about respecting a sovereign nation's vital interests?
What fucking rock do you live under?
Who the fuck do you think you are writing to?
This is Zero Hedge, player, not a bunch of dumb ass American dildoes programmed to nod 'yes, yes, yes, master' by their satanic MSM.
So fuck off and remember the first thing about speaking, 'know your audience.'
To be fair, he wrote it for LewRockwell, and Tyler posted it here, so if anything it is this Tyler's discretion you should be questioning. Alternatively, this might be a paid post.
The column appeared in LRC but it wasn't written especially for that site. It's a regular Buchanan column appearing on his own site and in multiple other sources.
http://buchanan.org/blog/
Wonder of wonders, it actually showed up at the National Review website as well, neo-con central!
I just wish I had paid more attention to Pat Buchanan years ago! He's been on to the chosenites for a while now, and paid the price as being constantly labeled as anti-semitic - to bad there aren't more folks like Pat in the US.
The chosenites have basically co-opted just about everyone in Washington.
I just wish I had paid more attention to Pat Buchanan years ago!
Me too. Back in the early 90s I just accepted the idea that he was a crazy, hateful conservative. Never really listened to anything he had to say in depth. Started reading LRC around 2007 where some of Pat's columns appear and was pleasantly surprised to find what an honest and outspoken fellow he usually is.
I'd say he's spot on about 75% of the time, 15% of the time he's so-so and 10% of the time he's every bit as bat shit crazy as I thought he was in the 90s. One of his forgivable weak points is his tendency to praise Nixon for whom he worked when he was a young man. Guess he still has some hero worship for the old crook.
>>>> One of his forgivable weak points is his tendency to praise Nixon for whom he worked when he was a young man.
It is difficult to reform one's opinion about a idol.
I have the same blind spot for Reagan. I know that he screwed up a lot and yet still have those warm feelings towards that man. Maybe when put in context of what was happening at that point in time it all makes more sense. It was a different world.
With Pat, one has to remember that Nixon came after LBJ. Sure makes him look like a saint in comparison.
Fair enough Skate.
Strategic Interest Genocide is still genocide.
Point: Fourteen years is too late for preaching and high minded philosophy meant to sway global public opinion.
I'm personally for putting a stop to the U.S. SIG madness and Syria's population control madness.
If Russia is successful in stopping the madness, then we make happy speeches.
But until then,
"I'm personally for putting a stop to the U.S. SIG madness and Syria's population control madness.
If Russia is successful in stopping the madness, then we make happy speeches.
But until then,
Pat has been pretty consistent in his disdain and revulsion for US imperialism/MIC adventurism/Neo-con warmongering.
This isn't a new view, mea culpa or a personal attempt at revisionism, which is more than can be said for a great many politicians and pundits.
Putin did seem intent on claiming some moral high ground at the UN. I personally think he did a pretty good job of framing his ethical and real-politic position vis-a-vis the US/Nato encroachments and the Zio-?-imperialist ME destabilization regime.
Deep water ports are strategic imperatives. Gas pipelines into Europe are economic infrastructure with high ROI.
...The threat to Russian imperative is not hard to understand.
You mean to tell us that you think it's nobel for Putin to trot out on a white horse now after the U.S. led genocide in the ME
The Nobel went to Obama because he's a man of peace but Putin is noble. Spelling is important even (especially?) in Bizarro World.
Poet, thanks for the spelling lesson.
English is not my first language. Here is a quote for you...
"The only noble outcome is moral truth. The rest is monkey masturbation."
J.M. McGuinniss
English is my first language and also my second language but that's just because I was a slow learner.
What is moral truth?
It's a pate that you put on crackers at Christmas.
As the spelling lesson guy I thought I'd just mention "pâté."
I'm not that adept with the editor, but thanks for showing me that the system is capable of producing those accent French thingies.
Where can I get the editor manual?
What the fuck is this?? A poetry circle?
I seriously want to know what is a moral truth?
I can understand truth but I do not understand the intention of the moral qualifier. Is it actionable?
Is the speaker suggesting that disclosing truth is not enough, that you must do something in response to truth? Is this pre-amble for implementing a judicial system based on the Truth(tm)?
Is so, I just want to open a discussion on what that might be.
I'm sorry, but I thought the question was purely rhetorical. I'm no expert on jurisprudence either. I get your point though I'm not smart ewnough to answer it appropriately. On Fridays I usually drink beer, listen to tunes, and smoke pot. Morality & the law was something I actually studied when I took 1st year university Law, but the arrogant professor irked me so much that I decided to avoid Law from then on.
The Notwithstanding clause in our Constitution sent me over the edge when it comes to Canadian jurisprudence. I have never lokked back since. Frankly, I had an advisor in Experimental Psychology that used to contemptuously mock any notions of 'the truth' because he was always attempting to instill a belief that that was an indeterminate subject matter best left to those that tend not to look at the world through an Empiricist lens.
Or to put it a better (?) way what is CLOSER to the 'truth' about morality? Channeling Rad, morality follows the path of least resistance: lies backed by violence. See: Tony Abbott !!!
Radical Marijuana is worth channeling IMHO. He is a learned man, and I agree with your comment that we approximate the 'truth', at best.
Anarchist,
I can only interpret the author's meaning.
I think moral truth is what survives us. It is a higher truth beyond simple arguments of fact. It is what we know in our hearts and minds to be true, right and wrong in the context of humanity's moral and intellectual evolution. It is not an ideologically based, religion based, or culturally based concept either. It is not something that is debatable, or to be used against a person, or used for a person. It evolves as humanity evolves. We can't avoid moral truth.
It just is and will always be.
I don't seem many people claiming to understand Putin's deepest motivations but he does appear noble. He would have been easily defeated if he made a stand 15 years ago. In that time Russia has been rebuilding its military and infrastructure. Meanwhile the US has ground its military down, down, down and our infrastructure is crumbling. Let us just say the roads and bridges are much better in Moscow than in Boston or DC. Today Russia is in a much better position to make a stand. After all they have had 15 years to study NATO in action and plan accordingly. Numbers wise, I still think Russia would end up losing against NATO. 800M vs 150M will eventually tell. The thing is, the US has gone to great lengths over the last 15 years to not only isolate itself from strong allies but also to cause much ill feeling around the world amongst our non-allies and competitors.
If there is a war soon I think it will not be 800M NATO vs 150M Russian. I think it would be more like 400MUS/Britain versus 4B Russia/China amd allies.
That brings me to one thing that worries me about Putin. Supposedly there is a long planned demise of the US being brought about. Does anyone really doubt that if a shadowy group is capable of pulling off a multigenerational conspiracy to bring down the most powerful country (at one time) in history would take chances with the man employed to be the wrecking ball? If they would not take that chance then we are to be no defeated but utterly annihilated from the face of the planet to a degree that will make really old Germans who survived WWII and the aftermath feel pity for us.
No multi-generational conspiracy needed. There is only one final outcome for hubris.
You forgot greed & exceptionalism, RopeADope.
"Supposedly there is a long planned demise of the US being brought about."
Supposedly huh?
Seems like a reasonable theory.
I guess all the 'scientist' are just extra busy studying climate change, global warming..important stuff like that. All the "debate is over", "science is settled" stuff and whatnot.
Normal, decent people don't think about stuff like the government being a criminal organization.
That would be "radical"...perhaps even "extreme".
Good thing the 'media' keeps us all informed eh?
Foreign policy is not a playable game.
https://thinkpatriot.wordpress.com/2015/02/06/high-dimensioned-games/
The tools we use are inadequate for the task, obviously.
https://thinkpatriot.wordpress.com/2015/09/28/important-things-are-not-f...
And the best minds of the Western World can't think their way out of a maze of 2 straight lines with a large arrow down the middle pointing to 'out':
https://thinkpatriot.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/previous-episodes-of-zealo...
It occurs to me that outside washington, new york, and a few other places, and especially as to people under...pick a year - 35 {?} - very few people are actually buying the US government's ongoing neocon lie assault.
The thing is, and any wild conspiracy theories aside, the MSM or legacy media is still very much in the hands of this "elite."
The concept of a "deep state" is new to me and may have this wrong or too simple, but when a "right wing" GOP president leaves office, and a :left wing" Dem comes in... and things do not change...
especially as to foreign policy and I suppose economic policy {largely, anyway} and non-prosecution of TBTF banks...
there have to be people, like Ms. Nuland, who have simply embedded themselves in the government and - with some uncomfortably large degree of autonomy, neocon officials in state, as well as the CIA {or elements} pursue their own agenda.
open borders - no matte who's in office
deficit spending
hyperinterventionism
slavish devotion to israel
war propaganda and yellow journalism that amounts to "Black Sheep" following "Tommy Boy"...
So then - I suggest we need a {peaceful} revolution - some sort of national "no confidence" vote.
otherwise - things are going to get far, far worse, and it doesn't seem that there are any good guys within the government, military, etc. that are coming to save us.
And it also seems that the Jewish/Israel lobby's power over the us government is not only not a canard - it is a major, major problem that may ultimately require military coup {judging by history}
The concept of a "deep state" is new to me and may have this wrong or too simple,
It may be beginner's luck but you've nailed it.
So then - I suggest we need a {peaceful} revolution - some sort of national "no confidence" vote.
Something's coming down the pike and when the boot comes off my neck it's not going back on. Notice given.
I think you are completely incorrect in that first assessment. I think 99% of people everywhere in the country are hook, line, and sinker sold on some aspect of our foreign policy. Some think we have to stop the Russian boogyman. Others think we have to kill ISIS. Others believe we should fight terror itself (and horror after that). Still others think we should bomb KSA (and the entire vicinity) to glass and just take whatever we want (oil). We can attribute this to short attention spans and propaganda oozing out of every device within range. Rarely do I talk to someone who thinks we ought to just mind our own business. They all just don't agree on who we should bomb next nor why we should bomb them.
At least Tom Brady can play for the Patriots. Those Patriots sure are great. It is so appropriate that a team with that name from that place should be able to be so successful for so long by serial cheating, getting caught, and sliding by with nary a whiff of so much as a slap on the wrist. It really brings a tear to one's eye. Kinda like that old anti-littering advertisement that featured the Native American shedding a tear at the disgrace being visited upon his homeland.
I had lunch with my college-aged daughter last week. Her mom and I split up when she was 15, and I see her a few times a year, get a few dozen brief phone calls/texts a year. She's that age when she's got her own life and family gets moved to the back burner. She's not politically active at all, pretty typical millenial glued to her iphone, etc.
Right after we sit down at the restaurant she asks me with no warm up is Bush did 9/11. The thinking behind it wasn't right/left at all. It was purely a people-at-the-top-doing-bad-things question. I was pretty stunned at that opener coming from a fairly average, naive 20-something.
My point is I agree with you, the buy-in to government BS is dropping rapidly. I've said it in the past and there's been a series of stories on ZH recently saying the same thing, we're entering a phase where there's going to be a trust crisis, and and I honestly think TPTB have no idea the level that people don't trust them, and how "sticky" being untrustworthy is. This is how you get currency implosions, revolutions, and god knows what else.
I think you can see it in Hillary's campaign implosion, and in the implosion of the non-Trump (and non-Ron (not Rand!) Paul) parts of the republican party. She seems genuinely mystified why she's losing popularity and the Reps can't seem to comprehend why doublespeak isn't working while a blow-dried asshole insults people and smokes them in the polls. As we head into the next recession I can only think that once we're in the depths of it the system is going to be primed for radical change. I just hope it's a restoration of the Republic and not the rise of the fourth reich.
Even my granddaugthers 13 year old friends know something very bad is coming down the pike.
Out of the mouths of babes and all that.
My tingly sense has been bad and escalating for a couple of years now.Its hairs on my
nape rising stage right now, and the last time that happened i was in Tehran when the embassy
was overrun. The Revolutionar guard saved a lot of American lives that day, and the hidden
SAVAK's got swift street justice. Just lucky I guess after being in Kabul when migs straffed the presidents palace.
You really ought to flesh that out a bit. All ears.
Tehran during the revolution?
Ksbul while being strafed?
Don't think I want to hang around with you.
Most people will never have a clue but larger numbers are waking up probably because TPTB are taking the mask of and not even bothering to hide most things anymore. My leftist chiropractor is leaving the country. I expected him to say that he was leaving because of all of the gun nutters and racists or something. He surprised me and said that being in a field that is considered quakery he looks at things a tad different and he sees our medical system as fascist and our court system following suit.
He believes one of his colleagues was framed some years ago for something and it has had him thinking ever since. He want's to live in a country where you don't have to look over your shoulder if you want to buy a book that is outside the mainstream. I think I can understand what he means.
@seek..............
my 20 yr ld nephew used the exact same verbage.......''bush did 911''..........
might still be some hope
Until they see Obama for what he is and not some idol there is no hope. They have been fed Bush is bad most of their lives. As far as I am concerned that is only thing I see from them.
Bush was so bad that Obama is still cleaning up his mess and Obama is great.
Hopefully next year she'll explain to you how she figures neo-con-jobs in the USSA and Israel crafted and carried out 911 in order to enslave everyone.
Ann, do I understand that you believe 9/11 was an inside job?
Yes, almost certainly. The neo-con-jobs said many times before 911 they need something like "a new pearl harbor" to get away with their typically reverse-named "patriot act", inherently endless "war on terror", and the blatant police-state they wanted so badly. So they created it.
I'm not saying they didn't have allies and "partners" too. Quite likely Israel was involved, perhaps even Al-Qaeda too (which do remember, was created by the USSA to give Russia a hard time in Afghanistan many decades ago).
Never forget, the USSA has officially admitted to a great many "false flag" events at this point in history, so precedents cannot be argued.
I'm willing to overlook a few "odd facts/events/situations", but 911 is strewn with so many totally absurd elements that can only be explained by some kind of inside job. At least that's how it appears to me.
Seek, my twenty year old daughter's boyfriend is equally sceptical. He seems to have read the same internet sites we do. Refreshing. We are in Australia. More and more people seem to be waking up.
Do you realize what you've done?... No they don't!
And worst of all they still don't care!.. Which is why you are the change the rest of the World yearns for with or without the changes that have been needed for decades by the people within that cesspool that are indifferent to the suffering they have caused everywhere else on this planet and only growing moreso!...
What can you say?...
An epic speech that only could have happened by America's delusional psychopathic ambitions that have only been metastasizing after 70 years of "moar"... Greed!
The World wants change and now finally they will get it through leadership that comes from that "quote" at the UN?...
You're either with him?!!!!... Or you are with the "terrorists"!!!
Greed isn't the problem. Theft is the problem.
A productive man can be greedy and it's really not an issue. He'll just have to work harder and smarter in order to sate his appetite. The trouble starts when someone gets the idea that he can take what's yours without trading value for value.
Petty thieves hit you over the head and steal your wallet. The really ambitious thieves run for government office or manipulate those in office.
Unfortunately B we've been wearing those military fatigues for too many years now and completely sold the "business suit" and briefcase when we thought we could get everything by force and a "petrodollar"!...
I agree and that is what I meant by "theft." I only objected to the word "greed" because it is often used by the envious as a way to target their marks. I wouldn't go so far as to say that "greed is good," as it does sound harsh but too many people fail to recognize the virtue of self interest which is the engine that makes an economy functional.
Domestically, lack of enforcement of existing laws is huge part of the problem.
Holder himself admitted to not going after the big banks because they were too important to the economy (too big to jail).
I agree that the corporations should not be the ones who get prosecuted and fined. It wasn't the corporation who broke the laws. It was individuals within it. That is who should be getting fined and jailed.
.... but it is much easier for the politician to extract their "cut" from the corporation and leave the actual criminals alone.
The question "Do you realize what you've done? " needed a follow up... Do you even care?
The answer is: No.
Maybe its in the cards that Russia and the USA are at odds---last time it was Russia the totalitarian extreme and the USA undermineing from a position of relative liberty and the "moral high ground". This time the shoe seems to be on the other foot. I only hope the result is good for liberty and freedom in the USA----my kids stand to lose if it turns out bad.
g
If you are a Vietnam era kid as I was who drank the Kool-Aid and believed in that "Domino Theory' bullshit that if we didn't dismember Vietnam "they'd be in our living rooms" that killed 2 million of them and 58,000 of us... The whole fucking thing was a lie then as it still is to this fucking day!
I realized that the Domino Theory was BS when the Commies didn't achieve world domination in thirty minutes or less.
Well the world did watch Russia and China kill about 140 million of their own people during the fourties and fifties.
That kinda murder scale is off the friggin charts-literal rivers of blood and gore.
I guess you know for certain that they would have stopped right there? I bow in your direction. Not.
Grimaldus
Huh?
Must be difficult to say the following words "Jane Fonda was right".
Can you say them?
If you care about your kids... MOVE. Yes, that may be inconvenient, perhaps very inconvenient. But staying will be worse for them, and you, guaranteed.
I hope Putin exposes more about the George Soros and Maurice Strong love affair.
2 gay boy band.
UN is dead man walking. Won't last after the first nuclear missile hits. My bet is in Iran.
The UN should be moved to Brussels. They like that kinda crap over there.
Grimaldus
what doesn't vlad realize in all this? one has to - and i think he would - roll it all on finishin' off the west if need be.
Agreed!
Like the Bluesbrothers, we're on a mission from God, America!
No surprise, really. Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle, Kristol, Rumsfeld, et al were already carving up the Middle East some four years before, 9-11 (look-up PNAC for details). With the demise of the Soviet Union the entire globe became basket full of chocolates for the taking. No limit to the eventual hubris . . . and chaos and death unobstructed. This became the NEW AMERICA, and we are now all on board the flight to hell. These same elites (an unholy alliance between the US military, MIC, Wall Street, and global corporations) thought hollowing american industry by shipping factories to China allowing Comrade oligarchs to become immensely wealthy on the back of one billion cheap laborers would just be the cream on top. Ironically, the world had to leave it to a renewed Russia and "faux capitalist" but still "RED" China to start drawing a line in the sand.
Let's face it, Americans let this happen!!!! We've become such simpletons with all our electronic gadgetry, cheap debt, government assistance (for both the poor and uber wealthy), and faux wealth, that we abondoned our duty to hold our politicians and ourselves responsible. If each one of is not, then why should these elites be. It all comes down personal choices, deliberate ignorance, and carelessness. Now we shall reap the fury, and deservedly so.
There are no civilians in a demoncracy. Each citizen is responsible in part for the corrupt government that leads them and deserves to experience the consequence however brutally deminished or violent. The US sold it's soul to the House of Saud and is now is paying an enormous price for that unexcusable error.
Oops.
Bit of a typo there.
Surely you mean Israel.
I don't think so, he is probably talking about the original deal Rosevelt did in the late fourties.
Give me a break!
<< It all comes down personal choices, deliberate ignorance, and carelessness. >>
You are going to blame everybody now?
Far be for me to know the minds of every single Amercan but I really do not understand blaming them all collectively for ignoring statist bullshit. I do not see why the average Joe should be obligated to do anything other than to mind his own business. It is insane to expect the average Joe to give a flying fuck what is happening in places he can not see.
Taking out garbage is a chore, but it must be done.
Great analogy. But that's just it, nobody is taking out the garbage. And we all know what happens to a neighborhood when that happens.
10000 ticks.
Thanks.
Says it all.
skepsis I agree... We all get the .gov we deserve. Put the gadget down turn off the tv and insist that politicians make good on their promises or throw them out, when all is well, relaxing with a litte comedy show or two is the reward.
http://orientalreview.org/2015/10/01/putins-global-game-changer/
Two men I call Mister. Putin and Trump.
Mr. Putin because he is a statesman of historic proportions. Truly one of the greatest leaders of his country and people that the world has ever seen. Loves his motherland and will defend her without fail.
Mr. Trump because he won't RT me if I don't.
Diversity for thee, but not for me! - the rallying cry of the leftist leadership we're suffering under, and both we and the rest of the world are paying a terrible price... a price that will only grow higher with each passing day.
As a Child of the late '70's-80's, I seriously, swear to <insert diety here> never imagined I would look at a Russian (still think of them as Soviet) leader and think that HE was the one making sense, but it's really starting to happen more and more often.
I'm scared. Hold me.
Dick Cheney would have all this cleared up PDQ. Talk about Darth fucking Vader. Thank gawd his wife has to wipe his ass for him these days.
Pat Buchanan has been the most notable conservative commentator beating the drum against Middle East intervention since the beginning of the Iraq War. I'm glad he lived to see that he was right all along.
That may be Goose, but that does not relieve him or us from simple bloviating when action is necessary.
The Zionist machine isn't really on a high horse but rather this is naked agression and imperialism. Things are getting ugly quick too. Putin has been more than patient as he has sat back and watched these demonic bastards take down nation after nation and now they destabilize the world. They had to make a stand somewhere and maybe the Ukraine was too close to home.
There will be hell to pay for Syria, the lumbering monster puppet country is very angry now.
Don't forget that the USA destoryed nearly every Middle East state that was strong enough to stand up to Israel. The current collapse of Arab states leaves Israel with an open door to create the Great Israel project. There are territories Israel plans to add to the Jewish State. Parts of Syria, Lebanon and West Bank.
The USA is if anything, Israel's stooge. The AIPAC wields power over presidents and congress, congress is in effect an arm of Israel. Every Arab state has been deconstructed and torn apart. Israel stands supreme. American policies have much to do with American Jews running US foreign policy and Intelligence agencies.
CIA and Mossad are the same organization, with MI6 as the crazy uncle of the group.
Putin failed to even mention Israel, and this proves Jewish power inside Russia, which is growing and growing.
Spending a hundred mil every election cycle buys you stuff apparently.
Maybe he didn't mention Israel because he knew Netanyahu would discredit Israel with his childish and idiotic speech at the UN.
Don't be mistaken, Putin does mention "Jews" or "zionists" to his domestic audience. However, he does not need to be called Hitler again by mentioning this directly in the UN speech:-)
He said this very important statement in Russia, when opening a Jewish museum and a library:
“I thought about something just now: The decision to nationalize this library was made by the first Soviet government, whose composition was 85 percent Jewish. The predominantly Jewish Soviet government were guided by false ideological considerations and supported the arrest and repression of Russian Orthodox Christians, Muslims and members of other faiths. Thankfully, those ideological goggles and faulty ideological perceptions collapsed. And today, we are essentially returning these books to the Jewish community with a happy smile."
Russian newspapers then said that they considered this as a "warning" to Jews in Russia and that no head of Russia has ever acknowledge this before and no one was supposed to talk about it. Also, I don't think Jewish power in Russia is growing, on the contrary. As the chief Jewish rabbi in Russia stated: “Saying no to the Russian president, in general, is not something done in Russia.”
From Jack,
The USA is if anything, Israel's stooge. The AIPAC wields power over presidents and congress, congress is in effect an arm of Israel. Every Arab state has been deconstructed and torn apart. Israel stands supreme. American policies have much to do with American Jews running US foreign policy and Intelligence agencies.
My addition:
Don't forget that balancing double entry ledger is the nexxus. Money power requires usury, and today's form of usury is private credit. Private credit in turn requires people to hypothecate themselves to create debts and attendant credit-as-money.
Private banks are linked up through reserve loops so that an imbalance in the system can be "accounted for." One world government is just a cover for one world private credit. Even ostensible "sovereign" central banks are found to be agents that actually work for private banking.
In the old days, banks would issue credit that was regional. As you moved further away from that bank, its credit power diminished. If you tried to spend a banker note from one region in another, it is quite possible it wouldn't be accepted, or even would require a discount at the far reaches of its region. Too far away and it wouldn't be accepted at all.
It was treasury money and gold that would remediate imbalance in banker credit across geographic distance. At one point in U.S. Treasury greenbacks were 60% of the money supply (post civil war). Banker reserves would then be Treasury money, which then allowed bank creditors to balance their accounts.
But banker's, who issue capital, and those who control capital - desperately want to control the world. It is a parasticial rent mechansim to issue the credit of the world, to then control the world. Key to this is making a worldwide system where either there is an international money good in all countries, or that all countries have private bank credit that can be intermediated, or find balanced ledgers. In the meantime, usury is collected for the creation of said credit, and that in turn is funneled into controlling the press, government, or whatever nefarious other purpose is deemed OK - including war.
The "city of london" is a one mile square plot of land that is sovereign banker territory. It was created after Calvin/Orange King plot succeded in overthrowing England and instituted debt spreading bank of england in 1694. It is no secret that the invasion of England was Jewish money power, which at that time found its nexxus in stock market capital of Amsterrrdaaamn.
The parasite then jumped from London to Wall Street and fully codified itself in 1912 with creation of Federal Reserve. Note this act made private banking supreme, where reserves find their ultimate balance at New York Fed. This "capital" can then be put to work controlling industry and countries. In other words by concentrating reserves at New York Fed, and having all banks linked up and not using Treasuries/Gold, then allowed private control of issuance and channeling of money power.
If Putin truly wants countries to be sovereign, they need their own money. Even Russia/China BRIC system is debt spreading type where the bankers hold debt instruments. If they are not careful, the new master will be same as the old master. A few will be in charge of a pyramid system controlled by hidden money powers.
Money power abuse traditionally been Jewish in character, which in turn relates to messianic pathology. This cabala/illuminist/money power mis is of course a pathological mix, perhaps fatal to man.
I caution everybody , that debt spreading credit, and concentrating debt instruments - to then trade those instruments in capital markets, is a form of slavery - no matter who wields that power.
The brain of Russia was formerly parasitized by Bolsheveiks, who were funded by Kuhn and Loeb etc. i.e. wall street credit capital. WW1,2 was finance capital (wall street/london) against industrial credit (axis powers). Soviet union and wall street linked up in WW2 because they sprung from the same well. New World Order is banksters trying to get their private credit control extended over the world. The U.S. is the whore who is being ridden to extend this parasitism and control.
New World order is Cabala at it roots, and messianic in that the temple needs to be rebuilt and the "lands" returned as promised to the Jews. Zionism IS private banker credit and Cabala. Say it isn't so.
So, the entire nexxus of the world and its shitstorm is private money power in the hands of messianic sociopaths, who also are driven by greed.
The Weed Should not be watered. Defund the parasite.

Jack, I always look for, your comments but in this case I think it was wise for Putin not to mention Israel. I think this was more of a strategic decision in light of the current propaganda war. Why give more ammunition to the neocons. Just wait. This is chess remember.
Speechless
we need Snookie the real reality TV star to Run for Potus.. Log Cabin Lindsey for VP, Clinton charity head for treasury and Franky the pedophile/bank crime and Carbon starving protectionist to run the world religion.... Not great but would be a Hobson choice over All_CIA_duh globalist..

The title of this piece clearly contradicts the substance within. It intimates that the author thinks Putin has the mind of a child. The author should have put a little more thought into naming this article.

Children know right from wrong - until they grow up and are corrupted and seduced by wealth, sex, power and other temptations. So in a way -Putin is as a child -he knows right from wrong -and he chooses right.
Putin the Great -the Hope of Humanity. ,
Although there is a lot of truth in what putin says here he certainly has his own agenda to promote.
Was our interventionist policy a mistake ... of course and in more ways than one.
The central error is not in supportuing the expansion of democracy throughout the world, it's
1) You can't do it via force.
2) Some people's culture cannot handle freedom, and if you give it to them you'll be sorely dissapointed with what they do with it. Any reflective parent could tell you as much.
