Guest Post: "Nothing But Cattle In An Industrial Processing Facility"

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Hardscrabble Farmer, courtesy of The Burning Platform

There is a growing divide in the country and day by day it grows deeper and more irrevocable. All around us we see the signs, if we look for them, of decay and collapse built into the very system itself.

If you reward indolence, it will become the norm, if we practice wholesale slaughter from the womb to a foreign wedding party others will take the cue. If we celebrate slatterns and degenerates and ridicule the wholesome and traditional we will wind up with more of one and less of another.

The further an organism lives from it’s natural state, the more adaptable the organism will become to that which is unnatural.

Yesterday an older farmer came to pick up his cow from my farm. She had been a guest of ours for several days to be bred by my bull and when he arrived I asked him to pull his trailer to the lower trail beside the stream and open the rear door. I explained that I would be opening a gate from one pasture and leading the animals to another, that his animals- the cow and her young heifer- would follow at the rear of the herd and when he saw them approach he would simply close the pasture gate behind them and allow them to load back in his trailer. The cattle dogs watched my every move, excited to work and anxious for their opportunity to show off to my friend. I called out to the cows- mooing to them from the trailhead- and they quickly assembled at the gate, mooing in return.

I opened the gate, placing my hands with palms extended behind me and walked them along the trail towards the upper field. The dogs, without instruction, took up places at the right and left of the herd, keeping a close eye on the calves. When the last calves passed through the gates the dogs trotted alongside them without a sound and followed them the length of the passage. My friend stood by his trailer watching for his animals and as my herd moved into the upper pasture they spread out and put their heads down to the grass walking slowly uphill.

The calves, younger and full of energy shot ahead past his animals and sprinted through the gate to catch up with their mothers on the green field and like clockwork his two cows passed the edge of his trailer and made a sharp right and climbed into the trailer without a hitch. The dogs came in for a pat and a couple of “good dogs!”, panting happily.

He shut the door behind them and looked at me with a rare smile on his face, genuine and slightly surprised.

Any cow in it’s natural state, well fed, not stressed, kept on pasture rather than in confinement and handled with respect are trouble free. They thrive. They get along. They breed easily, deliver strong calves, put on muscle with ease, and are generally a pleasure to be around. Human beings share a very similar set of needs and requirements as most domesticated livestock- domesticated livestock being a creation of humans, adapted to human use and care throughout the centuries and to human habits and behaviors.

In progressive farming- yes, that’s what industrial agriculture calls itself- animals are kept in confinement, fed diets that contain little or no grass in order to fatten them quickly not with protein rich muscle but with tallow. They are pumped full of antibiotics- not to keep sickness at bay but to kill the digestive microbes in their guts so that each pound of feed is more readily converted to a pound of fat. They stand not in fields of grass but in knee deep paddocks filled with manure. They are moved about not by family farmers who have known them since birth, respectfully and with ease, but by hirelings who shout and push them and use taser like devices to shock them into compliance from on overcrowded paddock to another, filled with fear, their bodies flooded by hormones before slaughter.

How do we fail to make the connection? How do we not see that the further we drift from what we were meant to be and to do as human beings the more we become disoriented, obese, dysfunctional, angry, depressed, violent or passive in the extreme. These responses are the natural outcome of unnatural circumstances and we should be in no way surprised that the more we extol and promote such systems the more often we will see such behaviors. It isn’t surprising, it doesn’t require any in depth studies or introspection beyond the obvious.

We are a product of our time and place. We live in a dystopian future that makes Brave New World look positively mundane in comparison. Mass shootings are the natural outcome of a society that mentally shackles its population while pumping it full of psychotropic drugs and violent imagery. It tells us to turn away from bullying while it dumps payloads of high explosives on hospitals and schools. It tells us to empathize with women while objectifying them via pornography and then denies young adult males the benefits of a loving wife and family unless he meets an impossible standard or forces him in direct competition with females both academically and in the workplace, putting off family formation until such a time as a woman is near menopause.

I could go on but you get the picture.

What is happening is- in my opinion- is engineered. You couldn’t do more if you personally placed the gun in the young man’s hand and gave him a lawful order to kill everyone in that school- and ironically is that not what we do to our drone pilots, only in different locations?

We are being led, deliberately and inexorably to the abattoir. The only question is, are you willing to submit?

This post is reaching.  The author is trying to make connections between what he knows and society.  He makes some valid but still weak points. Society, and any faults it has, has almost nothing in common with the differences  between industrial and family farming.  This post is just an attempt by the author to make sense of a world he doesn’t understand by drawing links to his damn cows.

Brilliantly insightful article. The truth is simple, and people are indeed like cattle. Chris Christie decided to veto a bill that would have stopped the practice of forcing pigs to be held in a cage so small they couldn't move or turn around. It would have cost the pig owner, one of his contributors, money.

Anyway, he didn't create the system and I'm pretty sure you didn't either. You play the hand you're dealt, but I've heard enough to know I'd rather have him on my team than you.

I think our entire set of political and economic institutions are so bad for people that the resulting dysfunction of people is causing the dysfunction of the institutions, even beyond the many flaws in those.

Whatever the reason, the system is failing, our march toward ware is all the proof we citizens need.

Today, so-called extreme activists believe we actually live in a socialist paradise, that everything is "publicly owned" that we the people actually own everything!

They really believe there are no owners, and therefore cannot even begin to imagine who their real masters are!

It is worth noting, how late we have kids now. My parents had their first kid when they were about 25. I had mine when I was 30. Thats the problem of being a couple that works. You have to work for a while, save, and sacrifice to have kids. Hard to get by on one income these days. Much different world that the ones my parents grew up in. While many of the US population doesn't really care if they are financially stable enough to care for a tiny little helpless person, and are happy to let everyone else, at gunpoint, take care of them, those of us that aren't are forced to wait until much later in life, which can carry its own set of problems.

The recent mass shooting really was like water off of a duck's back. This small scale wipe out was hardly noticed. Now a days we need bigger body counts to get CNN's talking heads activated.

Let me mention that I did read about the shooting in the UK Daily Mail. Their story was accompanied by dozens of photos of students and staff at the Junior College affected. In these pictures was a cross section of Junior College Types in the year 2015. Most from lower middle class or poor homes, because the real 4 year colleges get the upper 50%. Anyways, in these photos one could see a body shape that was typical to over 50% of those I saw, especially females. Need I say what that was? Fat, Fatter, Fucking Fat, Absoultely Fat, Too Fat to Move.

I saw men as well, in the same condition. If these kids and adults are real, as I think they were, then America is fucked. The health care bill for these fat fucks will be trillions! You know the disease that follows in the wake of being a fat cow at 19 years of age?

Unfortunate analogy there ; elephantine is somewhat aposite.
But the culprit is sugar consumption in particular ; carbohydrate consumption in general.
Throw in a lack of health education , and the bogus campaign against consumption of fats, led by the corrupt margarine industry, and you have the perfect storm.
These poor people don't even know how it is that they are shortening their own lives .

People are not cattle, but some choose to act that way. Blaming the social environment is lazy. Every person knows when their actions or way of living are in opposition to their well being. The ability to think creatively and exercise self control are built in by nature. Self preservation is a choice. If you act contrary to your best interests, nature will reward you with extinction. Stop blaming the jews, factory farming, incompetent politicians, the media etc. for the ills of society. Man is able to project his will into the world. If your life is overrun by someone elses will, what does that say about your own.

Although sympathetic to the plight of factory bovines, let's set the record straight.  Every cow in this country began as a pussified import from England and Italy.  America had its largest domestic mammal, the buffalo, perhaps even up to 20 million of them at one time, and they were slaughtered with impunity.  Any bovine over a given amount of time will decimate the land as cows nip their favorite grass right to the earth thus preventing the grass from regrowing.  Buffalo are not picky eaters and simply take a nip off the top thus encouraging the plant to grown stronger and then they move on.  Cows hooves smash and destroy a great deal of plant matter where as buffalo's cloven feet penetrate and aerate the soil thus encouraging water retention and plant growth.  Buffalo dry baths created wallows which turn into small ponds and thus encourage even more plant growth.

The author's utopian vision of domestic bovine bliss reeks of saccharin nostalgia for an animal that shouldn't even be in this country.  Nixon had the USDA change the designation of AAA beef to marbled fat rather than lean meat.

A great read is "Buffalo for the Broken Heart: Restoring Life to a Black Hills Ranch".

This is spot on. Very concise article for very well matured individuals. I grew up on a small village in India and I understand every word. The worst part is India wants to be white (Lack of better term here). We are tattoing our skins with white color. In the end it looks ugly and you have spoiled your skin. Modi was in the Valley few days ago and said we can't imprison 50% of the population and be progressive. Does that mean raising a kid at home, taking care of in laws, taking care of husband so that he can go to work and bring in food is not work? That is a sacrifice. Here we are making them feel like they are in prison. Are there any women who disagree with this 50-50 bullshit? I doubt it. Any ways great article. Remember that when you are divided and alone, it is easy for the capitalistic society to take advantage of you. On the long run the probability of survival for an individual drops down to zero. But not for a group of individuals.

Its not the capitalistic society per se, the corrupters are monopoly capitalists. For example Gloria Steinem was funded by Rockfeller (the one who said competition was a sin). Both serve my point nicely. As the late Arron Russo said (check youtube) the whole point of feminism was to get women into tax payer status and have the kids are raised by the state. It all gets rather complex, but ultimately the pressure is on from many directions for young girls and women to see things a certain way -of course this is never explained openly and honestly.

Those who fund the foundations and think tanks and most NGO's are usually not open and honest about the agenda. That's why its so easy to fall for it and almost impossible to withdraw from it, if a woman builds her life and only many years later see's through all this - its not really a do-over situation.

The only reason 99%-plus of people know about the recent mass shooting, or any other shootings for that matter, is from stories they saw on TV. Yet their lives are oh-so traumatized by them. What a farce.

The only reason Americans can indulge in this kind of decadence -- and make no mistake, this tripe just as decadent as porno or gluttony or reality TV -- is because they live in what is, hands down, the most affluent country that has ever existed on the planet. By far.

All part of the Republican agenda: red meat, more guns, an assault weapon in every home, and let the poor people work for less than minimum wage. In fact, abolish the minimum wage. But we must save the sacred unborn.

I have a neighbor with a 12 y.o. son; she and her husband just put him on Zoloft.  Why?  Because he is anxious about mass shootings at his rich Silicon Valley school, I sh*t you not.  Oh, and he has separation anxiety.  I will admit that they tried other things first, and it is hard to live in a condo with a 12 y.o. who is losing it.  So, I did mention that all the shooters have been on SSRIs   -  she didn't know that.  Then the Paxil coverup came out  -  more suicide attempts by boys on Paxil, but covered up by pharma.  She didn't know that either.  Then  -  last week  -  on ZH posters saying SSRIs had permanently affected their libido in a serious way.  I sent her an email describing that  -  and saying that I have been seeing that elsewhere.  No response from her  -  she doesn't want to hear about that I guess.

I saw the kid in passing a couple of days ago; he gave me a big wave and a smile.  Either the Zoloft is helping, or he reads his mom's email and he is glad that there is someone on the planet who thinks he shouldn't be chemically castrated.

And that is what this is about.  It may have started by accident (I am sure that pharma is not monitoring for long term sexual dysfunction in teen males who take this stuff, and it's not like the boys know what's normal and they're not going to tell anyone anyway).  It's permanent chemical castration, not always reversible by stopping taking the stuff.

I did suggest to the mother that she send the kid for "take down a sniper lessons", as a way of dealing with his anxiety.  No interest.  A friend of mine pointed out that upper class Americans don't want their sons to risk their lives to save others.  Another depressing truth.

They are selecting themselves out of the gene pool.  No worries, it's all to the good.

I guess I like the kid because he is good to their silly little rescued dog.  But you may have a point.

If this incident wasn't a fictional Sandy Hook then the shooter was an MK Ultra agent sent to stir up the usual gun grab campaign of our Zionist Globalist rulers.

Fortunately these plotters are wasting their time as you are never going to pry their guns from their cold dead fingers.

If the pols didn't want you to have guns, it would happen tommorrow. The token efforts at gun control are just that. They need you to have guns. They want you to have them. It plays right into their hands. You're the next boogieman. And thanks to registration, they know right where to find you when the time comes.

Nah.  These pikers are powerless.  They don't rule anything except a big pile of fail, and soon they will be removed.
