Last week's community college disaster in Oregon brought the number of mass shootings (4 or more people killed or injured) in America this year to 294. Whether due to easy access to arms, due to overmedication, or whatever other reason, this is a stunning data point, and amounts to more than 1 per day.
It is hardly surprising that even that "paragon of human rights", China, recently came out and mocked Obama for this unprecedented mass shooting death spree.

Based on the independent tracking done by the WaPo, the current number of fatal police shootings YTD is 758. So 1,000 is a reasonable estimate.
The CDC says all firearm deaths in 2013 were 33,000. Remember that include suicides, self-defence shootings, etc. When you dig into the numbers, it's 21K suicide and 11K homicide. So that means that cops are responsible for nearly 10% of all firearm homicides. (Note that the CDC actally breaks this out separately as "legal intervention" (man, what a euphamism!)

The Conceal Carry law is state law and invalidated many of Chicago's firearm laws. There are now people with CCL's carrying in Chicago.

That's why it's a very good idea to get the basic reloading equipment (NOT the $350 reloading set-ups), bullet molds and smokeless powder to be able to do simple reloads for your firearms. A bullet mold, reloading tools and a supply of powder for a 9mm for example (enough to do 1000's of reloads) can be had for less than $150. Same goes for common rifle and shotgun loads.
The one area where they may try to effectively curtail the reloaders though is with the primers - so stock up on those while they are freely available. There are some work-arounds to make homemade primers but they are not easy to produce nor are they as reliable as manufactured primers.
