Snowden Has A Simple Solution To Get To The Bottom Of The US Afghan Bombing "War Crime"
Overnight, Medecins Sans Frontiers, or the "Doctors without Borders" medical group which suffered a tremendous loss of life at the hands of US bombardment this past Saturday, stepped up its criticism of what it has previously called a US "war crime."
As Reuters reports, earlier today it called for an independent international fact-finding commission to be established to investigate the U.S. bombing of its hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan, which it deems a war crime, and which it would use to decide whether or not to file criminal charges, although it was unclear against whom precisely: perhaps 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama?
Why independent: because as MSF said "we cannot rely on internal investigations by U.S, NATO and Afghan forces."
Instead, the medical charity said that the commission, which can be set up at the request of a single state under the Geneva Convention, would gather facts and evidence from the United States, NATO and Afghanistan. MSF said it sent a letter on Tuesday to the 76 countries who signed up to the additional protocol of the Geneva Convention that set up the standing commission in 1991.
There is one problem: neither the United States nor Afghanistan are signatories and Francoise Saulnier, MSF lead counsel MSF, said that the consent of the states involved is necessary.
Good luck getting it.
Assuming the US does "agree" to comply with this fact-finding mission, we expect the full data dump - after all the necessary scrubbing of the evidence of course - to take place, some time in 2019.
For now, however, the MSF is not backing down: "If we let this go, we are basically giving a blank check to any countries at war," MSF International President Joanne Liu told a news briefing in Geneva. "There is no commitment to an independent investigation yet."
MSF is in talks with Switzerland about convoking the international commission of independent experts.
"Today we say enough, even war has rules," Liu said.

My theory is that the Afghan forces on the ground 'punked' the US into hitting the hospital. How easy would it have been to have set up a scenario where the US goes in guns blazing on limited info because someone 'up the ladder of command' told them to do it?
1. Locate the gps coordinates for the hospital.
2. Place a few people in the compound who will wait until the order and then open up shooting outwards so those guys in the C-130 can catch the fire on their flir.
3. Call in a hurried order that paints a drasctic situation.
I mean, if they are willing to inbed and kill our soldiers willy nilly, why not bring the international community down on them for bombing a hospital. If the tapes showed a gunho airman taking matters into his own hands I guarantee you that the video would already be out and Obama would be taking center stage decrying military. My bet - talk from the aircraft wanting over and over to confirm before deploying said ordinance. Thus, they will keep it from the public at all costs. Long shot - the call to attack came through political channels. It's possible.

AC-130s do not bomb targets. They are ground attack aircraft and rely on line of sight to distinguish targets. Typically they orbit their strike area and strafe with 40mm and 105mm guns. They don't drop bombs and head home. They hang around.

It would be astounding if this is the aircarft that attacked the hospital. Even at night they have thermal imaging so they saw what they were hitting.
AC-130s are multi-use aircraft (i.e. Ground Support, Transport, Bombing)...The aircraft has been used to deliver large explosive cargo like the MOABs..."Line of sight"?...Ever hear of GPS?

Dude, I literally watch AC-130s live fire from my camphouse. They orbit on target for an hour or more. They have 3 types of guns from what I can physically 'see'...gatlin chain gun, rapid fire medium gun, and a large, low cyclic cannon. These babies can reign terror down on its target. Now, I know it is not precision weapons but I live about 3 miles from the impact area they shoot at and they orbit within 1-2 miles of the target and they seem to be hitting pretty close to the target (and not my house).....
But ES is right, we should be able to easily pinpoint the plane that dropped the rounds on the hospital and then turn over those tapes to an independent investigator.
The same should be true with MH17...but look where that is going.
The C-130 has all it's guns pointing out one side. It circles the target with multiple types of cameras and can identify individuals and even if they are armed. They simply loiter in the area, circling and can go after individual targets all day long. A bombing run doesn't loiter on site for an hour. A spectre does.
I have to believe that the audio from the airmen deploying is full of caution and wonder as to why they are attacking the building. If you don't see any live fire coming out, or squirters moving away, you have to wonder what in the hell is going on. Again, my bet is someone up the chain pushing.
What you all here are describing is exactly what the initial MSF description of the attack was on Sputnik. They even said that there was very little damage on surrounding buildings. This was a classic, and very professional, multi-tap job, where they fire, probably the 105 in this case, into the target, wait 15 mins for help to arrive, repeat as needed, in this case for between 60 and 90 minutes.
Negative Lonestar the AC-130 does not bomb targets and has never dropped a MOAB. Those are dropped out of the rear of a stadard C-130 aircraft. The AC-130 does not have tha cargo bay available anymore due to the artillery in it and ammo storage. THe AC-130 also does not transport troops or cargo. The standard C-130 does that. THere fixed you for you.

The press doesn't always get the terminology right. The hospital probobly wasn't bombed, it was shelled. 105mm canon blast would look much the same as a free-fall iron bomb blast.
I found myself in a hangar once, looking at one of the AC-130 "ghost" ships being worked on; doesn't look that spectacular, but the pictures I saw of it in action were pretty impressive. With it orbiting the target, firing down, I'd think the hospital would have been lit up by the muzzle blast alone. 30 minutes of that, and I'm surprised anyone walked away.
They used to make a point that US soldiers in South America were never shown armed, just walking around with radios. They just picked up the radio, called in gunships, and all their troubles went bye bye.
Therein lies the difference. US soldiers = boots on the ground. No...or less reliance on satellite imagery, done selfies, and locals acting in their own self interests.
If they start flying again I will get some video. The one's I see come out of Duke Field, FL...according to a loadmaster buddy I know on C17s (that's another impressive beast doing touch-and-gos on a small rural airstrip). All I can say is one word...impressive. I always know when they are gearing up to go pound folks because they start training months in advance then there will be nothing (guess they are deployed or downtime).

As someone else posted.....how does Snowden know this event took place at the hands of a AC-130 and its crew? Not saying it isn't probable, just wondering where the intel is sourcing.
