Unemployed Americans Are Happiest In 6 Months

Tyler Durden's picture

Americans who are unemployed (or earn less than $50,000 per year) are the most upbeat in six months accoridng to Bloomberg Comfort survey data. Despite near-record layoffs, stagnant incomes, global instability, and domestic uncertainty, the jobless are happier and happier as full-time-workers lose faith.

While full-time workers are "happier" overall, for now, we can't help but wonder how welfare state America is enabling a vicious circle of lower and lower labor force particpation rates.

Maybe they realize the economy was gone a long time ago and has been kept propped up by printing imaginary digits in computers and stuffing it into banks and corporate accounts. Once the public fully realizes this has happened they will print up even more imaginary digits in computers and stuff that into individual accounts under the guise of

1) helicopter money

or

2) living wage

Of course to sell the idea of banning cash you also have to buy off the public with copter cash, i.e. living wage subsidies.

So if I give up any faith in the USSA I will be happier also? Not too far from that conclusion.

When the jobless protest, they are sent to the heavens above by the police of America.

If they survive, then free food and free accomodation awaits them in the largest prison country of the world.

And then we have the largest release of criminals in the world.

Who could have thunk and approved of this? Except the POTUS!?

I am pretty sure they will announce the second Nobel Prize for Obama this week!

Seriously! No work = happiness? Only in the good old US of A where big money (Bloom"lying"berg) shills for a failed federal government. Reminds me of that song: Don't worry, Be happy! Why? Because the government is wasting your money in never-ending wars in the middle east to please IsraHell while you're happy not knowing how to feed yourself and your family.Fantastic, isn't it?

I am retired but if I were young ... I would NOT be working for minimum wage to barely survive.  I would not mind a government job these days - though it would bore me to tears.

It does not mean I would be sitting on a couch living off my parents, and watching Netflix!

Happiness is being engaged in anyting that is fullfilling and life enhancing beyond survivial economics that enrich others in oor rigged economic/political corporate system - and buying into slogans like "freedom" and "American Dream". Let the 1% keep them.

I had a government job right out of school.  Great place to start:

1) You can jump in on any project; believe me , you won't have to push anyone out of the way.

2) As a result, you pick up marketable job experience.  I once ('90s) offered a position to someone in anouther group to come over to us.  It would be a lateral transfer, and they'd move from IBM mainframe COBOL to Oracle DB.  We'd put them through 5 weeks of training.  They'd only take the job if they got promoted[?!], as they'd have to learn a lot of new stuff.  5 years later, they were laid off when the CCSF outsourced, ironically by the consulting company I was then working for.

3) The pay/benefits are great ESPECIALLY whn you recognize you will never be fired for too little productivity.

4) You will NEED an outside interest.  It's great for mid 20/30s newlyweds trying to buy a house and have small kids.  Better find something else before 40.

5) Do NOT get into mgmt - or your brain will die.  Government managerial positions - create dementors out of saints.

Welfare State America enables serfdom BECAUSE IT CAN. The Happy Worker thesis is trotted out by Sociologists all over the world every ten years whether they need to trot it out or not. Frankly, in today's markets there are only miserable workers without a pot to piss in. The Happy Worker Thesis was rigorously defeated and met with a resounding defeat back in the 80s. The Happy Worker Thesis is only smoke n' mirrors, spin, rhetoric, and balderdash, or Horse Hockey as Col. H. T. Potter used to say on MASH.

Transsexual Rights & Wealth

Jesus, a carpenter, turned the Roman Empire on its head, with a few words, which Matthew understood best, and the communists present his lesson as the powerless individual, which is what all budding communists want to hear, that they are not responsible for their behavior. How stupid is that?

Now, America is competing with China and Russia, for communism, and losing, badly. Spend as little time on a job as possible to acquire skill, start a business, and raise a family. Get healthy, marry someone healthy and have healthy babies, to avoid Nazi healthcare. America doesn’t have the worst health at the highest cost, sinking its economy in the process, by accident.

Communism can neither initiate nor finish anything, so focus on those abilities, and passing through the gravity buffer accordingly. Like the ‘earth is flat,’ the communists operate under all kinds of false assumptions, which is why after thousands of years, human populations have merely transformed a garden into a desert, in growing boom and bust cycles.

The Democrats preach that deficits are wealth, and the Republicans preach that surpluses are wealth. Basic biology tells you that is a stupid choice. Either way government grows in a bipolar black hole. Government is the drug business.

You give your kid $5. If she invests it productively, you give her some more. Why would intelligent kids follow their parents’ example of chasing credit to buy an over-priced house, eliminating mobility, in a positive feedback loop?

Just because the communists are trapped in the denial, anger and depression loop doesn’t mean that everyone is. Someone must be able to turn that hourglass over or the communists on the fulcrum would have strangled themselves long ago. They can’t fathom electricity because they are looking at it backwards.

The communists expend all kinds of energy and produce nothing. If the gang was all-powerful, you wouldn’t be here. Communism and homosexuality can only end in economic death, but if you say that, you are kicked out of school. Taking people’s kids and giving them to transsexuals is pretty f-ing stupid, but it happens every day now. What were you expecting?

Communism is a race to the bottom. If you define evil as stupid, communism is evil. Put corporate on the right side of the equation, don’t assume a closed system, and the problem solves itself. If you look, you will see physics everywhere. We are all God’s children.

The communists compete to be God, to set the rules so they can break them - apes telling monkeys, hoping to be apes, what to do. Brilliant.

Maybe this group is drunker and does more drugs??? LOL.

On the other hand, once you get thru the 'orderal' and get situated, it is rather nice to get away from a bunch of deuchbag employers so of course you'll be happier not having to drive somewhere just to spend all day long sucking cock, kissing ass and getting screamed at and constantly threatened.

The good and right reason for the unemployed to feel good would be the moral and ethical reasons:  the unemployed are not contributing to the US oligarchy war machine, and that is something to feel good about.
