Obama Is Considering Gun Control Through Executive Order

Tyler Durden's picture

After yesterday's not one, not two, but three campus shootings, which come a week after the latest mass killing at Umpqua Community College left 10 people dead, it was only a matter of time before the administration would pick up where it left off shortly after the Sandy Hook shooting of December 2012.

The time has arrived, and according to The Hill after Obama's failed efforts to implement any form of gun control in early 2013 fizzled, the lame duck president is preparing to do what he has been threatening to do for a long time, by issuing a new executive action on gun control.

"Obama is wading back into the divisive issue of gun control as he travels to Roseburg, Ore., Friday to meet privately with survivors and families of victims of the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College."

While not a full ban on gun sales (yet) Obama is considering extending background check requirements to more dealers, according to The Washington Post. A White House official confirmed the plan is under consideration.

As we have noted previously, this proposal is among a number of executive actions that Obama considered after the 2012 shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. Back then the idea was abandoned, partly due to objections from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Still, unwilling to ride off into the sunset without imposing at least one executive order on gun control, the White House is giving the plan a second look.

At a press conference last week, a frustrated Obama said he had asked his advisers "to scrub what kinds of authorities do we have to enforce the laws that we have in place more effectively to keep guns out of the hands of criminals."

The details:

Under the plan, dealers who sell guns above a certain amount would have to perform background checks and obtain a license from the ATF.

Many of those dealers are exempt from the requirements now under a federal law that states people who make "occasional sales" as a hobby do not have to obtain a license or perform background checks, The Post notes.

The rule change would effectively help to close what critics call a loophole that allows people to purchase firearms online and at gun shows without going through a background check.

The president’s legal staff is weighing just how far he could tighten the standard without the regulation being overturned in court.

Like on previous occasions, such an executive order is certain to set off a firestorm in Washington, with a debate raging in Congress whether gun control is needed to stem the tide of mass shootings.

Obama's proposal is sure to also launch a firestorm on the presidential campaign trail, where Hillary Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, has seized on the Oregon shooting to put forward a number of gun control proposals, including an executive action on background checks that is similar to what Obama is now considering.

The Democratic Party's focus on guns has drawn fierce criticism from Republican White House hopefuls, who largely say mental health, and not gun control, is the correct policy response. They say Democrats are using the shootings to roll back Second Amendment rights.

Meanwhile, just like in 2012, the threat of more gun control is having just the opposite effect of what the president intends, and as we reported earlier this week, gun sales are soaring in the aftermath of the most recent cluster of shootings. In fact, "gun sales this year could surpass the record set in 2013, when gun purchases surged after the December 2012 Sandy Hook murders."

In the first nine months of this year, 15.6m of the background checks needed to purchase guns from federally licensed sellers have been processed, compared with the 15.5m applications in the same period in 2013, according to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

Why the surge? Simple: "Once the public hears the president on the news say we need more gun controls, it tends to drive sales,” said Mr Hyatt, who owns one of the largest gun retailers in the US. "People think, if I don’t get a gun now, it might be difficult to get one in the future. The store is crowded."

Because if you want something to be truly broken, just invite the government to "fix" it. Which is not to say that everyone is a loser - two clear winners from Obama's repeated attempts to enforce gun control are shown in the chart below.

What strikes me as deeply ironic is that Americans would view this as a step to prevent US citizens rising up against tyranny "if" the need were ever to arise.

Wake up sheep. Your guns aren't a defence against the government. They're a teddy bear for you to cling to every night while Uncle Sam rapes you.

That's why the US government will never ban guns. They're the greatest tranquilizer and excuse Americans have ever had. Yes, the "authorities" will throw you in a cage for ingesting the "wrong" kind of plant, they'll fine you for going a few mph over a ridiculously low speed limit, they'll arrest you for driving with some arbitrary amount of chemical in your blood, regardless of whether it's demonstrably effecting your driving, but oh, no "it's ok, I still got my gunzzz!"

So the Nazi's forced all Jews to register their guns, with a long prison sentence for anyone who didn't.  When the hate for the Jews got intense enought, they then went around and confiscated all of their guns.  Except one group of jews (forget where).  They had a much harder time rounding up that group of Jews than the rest when oven time finally arrived.

So this is the quandary for the neocon assholes driving the deep state.  How to you create hate and fear towards the whole population in america? Because there are a shitload of gun owners in all srrata of American society.  This is a tough nut to crack, and they haven't been able to come up with a good strategy without looking 'racist' themselves. The "Terror" meme has been great for them in usurping the constitution, but they're bumping up against it now.  I guess we'll be seeing yet another major false flag soon...

Sending cops out to confiscate guns from home in Texas is the equivalent of putting every one of them on suicide watch. Most cops would like to go home at the end of the day. Aside from the few headcases who seem to thrive on violence, this is a non-starter in the US of A.

"I believe that most gun-owners really gives a fuck anymore. There will be some dead confiscators and thats a promise."

It need not go that far.  An online campaign rousing all gun owning families to deluge CONgress with indivdual family members demanding impeachment of a traitorous sitting president openly defying the peoples bulwark against the imposition of tyranny upon them (hint:  the document begins with these three words  WE THE PEOPLE)  It would be easy to recruit non gun owners by simply making the argument that gun ownership guarantees all the other rights protected by the first ten amendments, including of course the right to a free and open Internet.  Gun owning Americans are the biggest and most powerful potential lobby in this country, if and when they ever turn off the sports, "news", soaps and all the other controlling distractions they so obediently immerse themselves in and actually do something.

I don't know what perspective you're speaking from but he's 100% right.  Uncle Fraud has been chipping away for a very, VERY long time at gun ownership.  The largest chip being anybody with a felony BARRED.  And of course there are zillions of non-violent felonies.  But you're okay with that because they're all criminals.  This is the boiled frog, you know and yet you say jackass things as if length of membership is a sign from above.

Then they move on to other things like lifetime abolition of gun ownership for MISDEAMNOR domestic abuse.  I'm sure you knew about that RIGHT?

Its like a sculptor chipping away at a block of granite.  At first the end result is unrecognizable but after a few hundreds chips, the end result starts to appear.  We're talking about gun control that occurred in the UK and AUSTRALIA.  But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, it could never happen here because you have some guns in your basement.

You're an idiot because Americans have already let the sculptor get half finished with his project and we haven't done a g*ddamn thing to stop it, nor can we because we always, ALWAYS vote for traitors and backstabbers.

Well, hell. We didn't start that Revolutionary War, but we damn sure finished it. And we'll finish this one, too.

Why do you think the POS shitting in the White House has tried to provoke us since virtually Day One?

You do know how the first Revolutionary War started, don'tcha? When the British came for the guns at Lexington and Concord.

I agree.

Regarding my distaste for guns - I honestly think they don't help us and all these shootings are due to how easy it is to get them in the US.

I do think most people are too scared of their own government (and use guns as a waay to try to feel safer).

I spent time in military and can dissamble and put together a machine gun with my eyes closed if yu wake me up at 4am

it's the rich gun industry that bribes our government that run the show however they want  - they get any utcome they want due to the best government money can buy.

I was in DC when Snowdon released his documents and I expcted my friends who work for pentagon, white house etc to be outraged . Nobody said a word. When I asked them  - they said they were scared.

thsi is the answer I got from all my American friends everywhere. Guns don't help with population this scared and servile.

PS even the friend whose father wrote the Civil Rights Act told me to shut up and stop asking questions otherwie I will get into trouble. So much for the constitution and civil rights...

And, the 2nd amendment wasn't meant for guns for my purposes.... it was meant to keep an out of control govt. in check....   So, with 280,000,000 guns in this country... if only 1% of the guns that are out there got pissed off enough to take it to the man then, 2.8 million of them would be pointing at 500 or so politicians.

I think the notion that the population couldn't possibly defeat the well armed and organized government is false. Look at Vietnam, Afganistan, Cuba.  All are examples of locals with small arms defeating a much better equipped military.  The reason is because its really hard for an occupying force to win a guerrila war, especially when the general population is really pissed off at the occupying force.  So the more brutal an oppressive army becomes in its efforts to suppress a rebellion the more a populace will be motivated to fight that government.

Given that the US gov will be fighting its own economic base, and given that an uprising in the US would mean the destruction and disruption of lots of infrastructure, which would weaken the government, I think its pretty much inevitable that the almost bankrupt US gov would have little chance of prevailing against a population that has millions of guns and thousands of tons of ammunition.

I've never done it (really) but you can get black power arms including revolvers plus inserts which use cowboy loads. Each chamber in the cylinder has its own firing pin and I hear that these can sometimes misfire if these pins are bumped.

One can also obtain (not me, really) a heavy duty metal flare gun (never plastic!) such as the Polish model at Sportsman's Guide and get inserts that let you fire anything from.22 to 12 gauge.

I'm not recommending any of these things and have no personal experience with them. Don't executive order me, bro.

Speaking of 'Sportsmen's':

My LOCAL 'Sportsman's Warehouse' has 150-rd boxes of Federal 62gr. .223 'L.A.P.' for $69.99. That's the so-called 'green tip light armor-piercing' NATO rounds.

I only purchased ONE (the ammo box is getting too heavy to carry, and others might need this as well, so I didn't want to be greedy). The last time I purchased this stuff, it wasn't quite so expensive, but .223 ammo runs $.50 a round ANYWAY, and this stuff is slightly less money.

The GENERAL location is the 'Pacific Northwest'.

Black powder guns against the NWO shit is like a nigger bringing a knife to a gunfight.

New brass cased 5.56 runs $0.30/round and new brass cased .223 is $0.28/round.

62 grain green tip 5.56 is $0.32/round

You can buy remans or steel cased for $0.22/round.

One can also obtain (not me, really) a heavy duty metal flare gun (never plastic!) such as the Polish model at Sportsman's Guide and get inserts that let you fire anything from.22 to 12 gauge.

On sale now at Sportsmans Guide. You'll want the metal surplus version, the new plastic ones will likely blow up with alternate loads, making your face resemble someone from Obama's cabinet.

My Rifle: The Creed of a US Marine
by Major General William H. Rupertus (USMC, Ret.)
(written following the attack on Pearl Harbor)

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...

My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...

My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...

Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.

So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!

no real experience with that, but when coming to inspection arms with the m-14 you had to slam the op-rod down with the side of your right hand and then reach over with your thumb and push in the lock-cache.  had to wet the palm and fingers of dress gloves so you could do this. i guess my dad would have experience with the m-1, and grand dad with the 03. god rest their souls.

yep, springfield armory was the largest manufacturer, and it was the same caliber as the 03 springfield. 30-06.  the m1a is 7.62

Enfield .308 (7.62 MM, in 'metrispeak'). They had two vesions: 39MM and 51 MM.

I prefer the Mosin-Nagant 7.62 X 54(r). Lots of kick, and a nice long barrel (perfect for civilian sniper ops, target practice, big game hunting, or match shooting at 100 meters). Standard grain load 168. Larger loads are available (in non-NATO countries, of course).

Fracking ENFIELD and fracking SPRINGFIELD are ONE and the SAME. '30-aught-6', .308 inch, 7.62 MM--- WHATEVER. 19 fracking '03'! The gun makers back then liked to label their weapons according to the year of their 'invention'. The 'Military One Assault' ('m1a') is a cheaper version of the British Enfield (but easily mass-produced by Henry Ford, et.al). A WWI version of the 'Army of "One"', back when airplanes were 3-winged, and engines were equipped with valves in their blocks; and women were ashamed if they had become pregnant without benefit of marriage; and when men were still honorable (exept for Banksers, that is).

I (have) /STRIKE/ know a guy who has an AR-15, which is calibered in .223 inch, but the 5.56 x 45 'Nato' 62 GR. L.A.P. round seems to work nicely as well. Still, there's something about grabbing and cycling a gunbolt (instead of letting the machine do it for you) that brings a sort of satisfaction to the psyche.

then you must be using an M1 Garand....  beautiful rifle...   but, they're not clips.... they're called bandoliers... (sp?)

Meh, I've got a Garand but, I like my supermatch M1A better... it holds 20 at a time and, I've got it scoped out etc.... you can really do something at 800yds or more with the thing and, it goes bang as fast as you can find a target and squeeze the trigger.  I used to shoot the national match  course with it a LONG time ago....  Been to Camp Perry with it a few times and made the president's 100 with it once.  The M1A and Garand have only one problem.... their op rod can bend if you use really slow burning powder so, you're limited somewhat in trying to get super high performance out of them but, both will make the 1000yd line with 175gr pills loaded correctly.  The problem is that the port pressure at the gas port when using slow blooming powerful powders pushes the pressure up so much at the port that the op rod can't take it.   They're still both great rifles...   I don't like shooting a 7.62 at 1000yds though... the bullet is falling out of the sky at that range.... the bullet is dropping 1" for every 36" it travels at 1000yds.

I love my bolt guns more though.....   There's nothing quite like taking a 375 CheyTac and shooting a mile or more with it.   With a little practice, you can hit an IPSC style target cold bore at a mile with this thing pretty easily..... puts a 50cal to shame for velocity and distance.  That rifle will launch a 350gr copper solid, lathe turned projectile out of the barrel at 3200fps and get to 3000yds a whole second faster than the best loaded 50 cal round you can load.....  with a faster flight time, the environmentals have less time to act on the bullet.   Wth long flight times... you have to have a computer help you.... for example... if you're shooting north or south... the direction the earth is turning matters ( the earth spins out from under the bullet )...  for example, at one mile, there is a 20" correction when shooting north or south but, there is no correction for shooting directly east or west.... also spin drift.... another 8" correction there at a mile...    If you're shooting a 17" wide target and you're lined up on the middle of the target, missing by just the spin drift will put you about off the target....

Why...I can hardly wait for the waiting periods to gain access to cars, trucks, gasoline, electricity, bleach & ammonia, rope, tall buildings, knives & forks, baseball bats, motorcycles, boats, planes etc.

They murder people.

The tools are quite varied, though. Polonium, 'smart bombs', knives, ropes, cars, stratospheric geoengineering, radiation releases, piano wire, flash-bang grenades, CIA 'heart-attack guns', tazers, Flouride, GMO food, SSRI drugs, and other things like that.

OH YEAH, and guns.

The fundamental difference between statist and libertarians is this: One believes you have no rights, only privileges granted by the state. The other believes you have rights bestowed by God. This is a huge gulf, and it can not be bridged. One side is going to lose, the other will win.  Go out and buy a rifle, shotgun and pistol. Teach your kids how to safely use them, and take them hunting and target shooting. Unless the younger generation is exposed to gun ownership, we will eventually lose. AND JOIN THE NRA. THEY ARE THE ONLY REASON WE STILL HAVE THE SECOND AMENDMENT.

I don't think they'll be by to pick up our guns any time soon, at least not in my neighborhood. But, 10¢ per freaking .22, if you can find them, is getting pretty darn maddening.

They'll continue to nibble around the edges by limiting the supply of ammo and certain scary looking guns, aka "assault weapons",  and tighten the background checks to limit purchases.  Outright banning the sale or confiscating guns would cause mass State upheaval, probably secession by some.  They'll just call us all crazy zombies and fail our background checks after Obama closes the gun show/private sale loophole by executive order.  Those without guns and a stash of ammo with be out of luck!

They'll wait for martial law for confiscation...

As they did recently, passing “procedural martial law” to approve spending bills the very day presented without reading them, ignoring regular order, to avert an Oct 1st shut down of the government, while the People slept....

Who needs a Constitution when you have a lapdog press and stupefied People?

Rifle Manufacturer John Noveske Mysteriously Killed Shortly After Posting Controversial Article

Interestingly, about a week before this car wreck, Noveske published a post on his Facebook page about the connection in recent mass-casualty shootings  to drugs being prescribed to the people who committed these crimes.

http://www.texasgopvote.com/issues/stop-big-government/gun-news-rifle-ma...

Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Columbine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold's medical records have never been made available to the public.

Jeff Weise, age 16, had been prescribed 60 mg/day of Prozac (three times the average starting dose for adults!) when he shot his grandfather, his grandfather's girlfriend and many fellow students at Red Lake, Minnesota. He then shot himself. 10 dead, 12 wounded.

Cory Baadsgaard, age 16, Wahluke (Washington state) High School, was on Paxil (which caused him to have hallucinations) when he took a rifle to his high school and held 23 classmates hostage. He has no memory of the event.

Chris Fetters, age 13, killed his favorite aunt while taking Prozac.

Christopher Pittman, age 12, murdered both his grandparents while taking Zoloft.

Mathew Miller, age 13, hung himself in his bedroom closet after taking Zoloft for 6 days.

Kip Kinkel, age 15, (on Prozac and Ritalin) shot his parents while they slept then went to school and opened fire killing 2 classmates and injuring 22 shortly after beginning Prozac treatment.

Luke Woodham, age 16 (Prozac) killed his mother and then killed two students, wounding six others.

A boy in Pocatello, ID (Zoloft) in 1998 had a Zoloft-induced seizure that caused an armed stand off at his school.

Michael Carneal (Ritalin), age 14, opened fire on students at a high school prayer meeting in West Paducah, Kentucky. Three teenagers were killed, five others were wounded..

A young man in Huntsville, Alabama (Ritalin) went psychotic chopping up his parents with an ax and also killing one sibling and almost murdering another.

Andrew Golden, age 11, (Ritalin) and Mitchell Johnson, aged 14, (Ritalin) shot 15 people, killing four students, one teacher, and wounding 10 others.

TJ Solomon, age 15, (Ritalin) high school student in Conyers, Georgia opened fire on and wounded six of his class mates.

Rod Mathews, age 14, (Ritalin) beat a classmate to death with a bat.

James Wilson, age 19, (various psychiatric drugs) from Breenwood, South Carolina, took a .22 caliber revolver into an elementary school killing two young girls, and wounding seven other children and two teachers.

Elizabeth Bush, age 13, (Paxil) was responsible for a school shooting in Pennsylvania

Jason Hoffman (Effexor and Celexa) – school shooting in El Cajon, California

Jarred Viktor, age 15, (Paxil), after five days on Paxil he stabbed his grandmother 61 times.

Chris Shanahan, age 15 (Paxil) in Rigby, ID who out of the blue killed a woman.

Jeff Franklin (Prozac and Ritalin), Huntsville, AL, killed his parents as they came home from work using a sledge hammer, hatchet, butcher knife and mechanic's file, then attacked his younger brothers and sister.

Neal Furrow (Prozac) in LA Jewish school shooting reported to have been court-ordered to be on Prozac along with several other medications.

Kevin Rider, age 14, was withdrawing from Prozac when he died from a gunshot wound to his head. Initially it was ruled a suicide, but two years later, the investigation into his death was opened as a possible homicide. The prime suspect, also age 14, had been taking Zoloft and other SSRI antidepressants.

Alex Kim, age 13, hung himself shortly after his Lexapro prescription had been doubled.

Diane Routhier was prescribed Welbutrin for gallstone problems. Six days later, after suffering many adverse effects of the drug, she shot herself.

Billy Willkomm, an accomplished wrestler and a University of Florida student, was prescribed Prozac at the age of 17. His family found him dead of suicide – hanging from a tall ladder at the family's Gulf Shore Boulevard home in July 2002.

Kara Jaye Anne Fuller-Otter, age 12, was on Paxil when she hung herself from a hook in her closet. Kara's parents said ".... the damn doctor wouldn't take her off it and I asked him to when we went in on the second visit. I told him I thought she was having some sort of reaction to Paxil...")

Gareth Christian, Vancouver, age 18, was on Paxil when he committed suicide in 2002, (Gareth's father could not accept his son's death and killed himself.)

Julie Woodward, age 17, was on Zoloft when she hung herself in her family's detached garage.

Matthew Miller was 13 when he saw a psychiatrist because he was having difficulty at school. The psychiatrist gave him samples of Zoloft. Seven days later his mother found him dead, hanging by a belt from a laundry hook in his closet.

Kurt Danysh, age 18, and on Prozac, killed his father with a shotgun. He is now behind prison bars, and writes letters, trying to warn the world that SSRI drugs can kill.

Woody ____, age 37, committed suicide while in his 5th week of taking Zoloft. Shortly before his death his physician suggested doubling the dose of the drug. He had seen his physician only for insomnia. He had never been depressed, nor did he have any history of any mental illness symptoms.

A boy from Houston, age 10, shot and killed his father after his Prozac dosage was increased.

Hammad Memon, age 15, shot and killed a fellow middle school student. He had been diagnosed with ADHD and depression and was taking Zoloft and "other drugs for the conditions."

Matti Saari, a 22-year-old culinary student, shot and killed 9 students and a teacher, and wounded another student, before killing himself. Saari was taking an SSRI and a benzodiazapine.

Steven Kazmierczak, age 27, shot and killed five people and wounded 21 others before killing himself in a Northern Illinois University auditorium. According to his girlfriend, he had recently been taking Prozac, Xanax and Ambien. Toxicology results showed that he still had trace amounts of Xanax in his system.

Finnish gunman Pekka-Eric Auvinen, age 18, had been taking antidepressants before he killed eight people and wounded a dozen more at Jokela High School – then he committed suicide.

Asa Coon from Cleveland, age 14, shot and wounded four before taking his own life. Court records show Coon was on Trazodone.

Jon Romano, age 16, on medication for depression, fired a shotgun at a teacher in his New York high school.

it seems to me that at least 30% of Americans are on those kinds of drugs, many people take a couple of different ones.

American doctors love getting kick backs from Big Pharma. A few European friends in LA told me stories when they go to see a doctor about indigestion, and doctor insists on prescribing them anti-depressants. The same thing with diabetes drugs (instead of advising people to cut carbs and exercise they prescribe drugs and tell them to keep eating whatever they want)

The American Association of Psychiatrists has published a study that identifies whoring women with several children by different fathers (who enjoy playing violent video games). It's called (in the vernacular) 'KillDaddy Syndrome'. It is accompanied with narcassistic tendencies, and the need for welfare payments and gratutious sex. This condition becomes more debilitating when the woman gains an extra 200 pounds (as her cravings for anonymous dick are hampered by her percieved undesirability to men), and the 'Cheetos Munchie Violence' syndrome causes her to encourage her bastard mullato children to play games that simulate murdering everyone they see (focusing on MEN who have guns), and also are tendent to become 'community organizers'.

Thankfully, Ely Lilly and Company have (through years of exhaustive R and D) come up with a pill that counteracts these indications.

"Why doesn't Barry address that?"

All of these campuses are 'gun-free zones'.  Gun control in the US is counter-productive, and I challenge anyone to produce statistics that would prove otherwise... US stats, not euro stats.

Obama openly incites a race war and imports more muslim killers, while proposing a useless increase in background checks.  So if you ever committed a mass murder and it's in the database, I guess you won't be able to buy a gun.  Problem solved.

Easy to fix the problem.  Enforce immigration laws.  Keep out muslims.  Cut off (for life) all welfare after 1st offense.  The kenyan nigger's first offense happened long before he faked his citizenship.

And in fact you already have to get a background check no matter what this article says. BHO is simply milking a diversion from his utter failures in Syria, ISIS and all hs ME policies or lack of ? as well his nmay criminal acts.

Background checks are in every state and federal mandated. So a lot of this talk is utter gibberish and nonsense.Just keeping a good touchy/feely tpoic alive and well to milk it for all it is worth.

That would be the best thing Obama could do to pave the way for a truly independent president. I guess even Alex Jones could win the presidency the next term.

The neocons must be suffering from a total loss of discernment if they're considering such a desperate stupidity. It also indicates they are very hurry and very nervous, under huge time stress. And these cummulated are the best conditions for making huge mistakes.

Of the people who registered their guns in Nazi Germany as the law required (these were lawful German citizens), many were killed after turning their guns in, as the Gestapo had the list of all the registrants.  Because having owned a gun, they had knowledge of their use and operation, and so were a "threat" to the state.

Actually 262,000,000 people were killed by their own governments (Democide) in the 20th century.

Note, that this total does NOT include war.

-Just to give perspective on this incredible murder by government, if all these bodies were laid head to toe, with the average height being 5', then they would circle the earth ten times.

-Also, this democide murdered 6 times more people than died in combat in all the foreign and internal wars of the century.

-Finally, given popular estimates of the dead in a major nuclear war, this total democide is as though such a war did occur, but with its dead spread over a century.

Fast and Furious was part of Holder's "brainwashing" agenda.

Holder Says People Need to be Brainwashed Against Guns

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYyqBxD-3xw

At the same time Holder's "Justice Department" was giving guns to Mexican drug cartels the US government was pushing the story that most guns used in crimes in Mexico came from the US and therefore gun control was needed here in order to keep Mexicans safe.

Data show most firearms recovered at Mexican crime scenes originate in U.S.

Nearly 70% of guns recovered from Mexican criminal activity during the past five years and traced by the U.S. government originated from sales in the United States, according to data released Thursday by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

All the guns that were traced were passed to the U.S. from Mexican authorities.

Im still reserving judgement on this one. Heres a serious question/pondering: If I was going to stage a shooting like this, wouldn't it make more sense, from my agenda, to have the narrative say that the shooter was mentally unstable and had a history of mental problems, so he was unable to obtain a gun through normal channels. however, using the GUN SHOW LOOPHOLE(obviously you gotta say that a lot, over emphasize the word 'loophole') he was able to buy all 7 of his guns by attending gunshows that don't require a background check. I believe that requiring background checks for every purchase is their next immediate goal(obviously an outright ban is the ultimate goal) which would, without actually saying so, mean that you can no longer just take grandpa's gun and keep it when you are cleaning out his house after he dies. Not being able to quietly pass guns down to your kids and grand kids is an important step. I feel like if they were stagin these, that would have been the MO in at least one of them.

Again, Im not saying yall are wrong, just that I am reserving judgement about this one. I do agree with sandy hook, that one stinks. But, is it really hard to believe that a handful of the millions of people who take these drugs snap and kill a bunch of people? as bad as SSRIs can mess people up, and as many people as there are that are on one or more psychotropic drug, its not surprising at all that this happens. Honestly, its more surprising it doesn't happen more.

if he got a dishonorable discharge he would not have been able to buy a gun. And you don't get a dishonorable for being suicidal, you get a medical discharge, which is honorable.

this is all fine and well, except that the nutjobs aren't buying them on their own... in the two shootings cited, the guns were stolen from their parents (who of course had already passed the _already more than sufficient background checks_ with flying colors)...

Or by brainwashing especially over a generational time frame. Who would have envisioned gay marriage twenty years ago or ten years ago or five years ago? And yet here it is.

Is it just a coincidence that 1) mass shootings happen at schools 2) schools have zero tolerance policies and kids are shamed for pointing fingers and eating pop tarts and 3) schools are locked down when a bank robbery happens miles away and I know of no case where bank robbers tried to take refuge in a school.

The move toward requiring background checks for all firearms transfers is also an attempt at impeding the passage of guns from one generation to the next. When Grandpa dies not only will Sonny Boy have to get a background check before he gets the old 12 gauge but Grandma herself may be in violation of possessing Grandpa's gun after he dies because she never went through a background check. Let them prosecute a few old ladies to spread fear and create centers where old guns can be turned over to the government and the number of guns passed from one generation to the next will shrink dramatically.
